Kevin's grand café & restaurant in Wijk 02 Dijkpolder

Great place, cozy atmosphere, excellent service, and delicious food! The "Tafeltje Vol" menu is highly recommended, with refined flavors and fresh ingredients. It was our first visit, but definitely not our last!

Wir hatten für ein Abend einen Tisch reserviert. Pünktlich angekommen fragten wir, ob wir auch – statt des etwas miefigen Innenraums – lieber noch draußen, an den Tischen neben dem Flüsschen, essen konnten. Kurze Nachfrage der Bedienung – ja geht, sollten wir aber noch bereuen. Denn dann bediente uns nicht eine der beiden Damen, sondern ein zwar bemühter, aber nicht sehr kompetenter junger Mann, der sich wohl sonst eher in der Küche aufhielt. Wäre noch okay gewesen, aber leider wurde dann nach längerem Warten bei mir das Falsche (Surf & Turf statt Rumpsteak) serviert und der Turf-Teil bestand leider aus einem relativ zähem Stück Fleisch. Ich hätte es gleich zurück gehen lassen sollen, aber dann hätte ich wieder warten müssen und meine Frau hatte grade ihr Lamm bekommen. Die Pinsa prosciutto vorab war okay, Affligems und Fritten auch, aber insgesamt hatten wir keinen Spaß und verzichteten dann auch aufs Dessert.

Went on Thursday, there was no one else there but the 3 of us. We had a lot to chat about, the waitress often came by to ask if she could take her order. We ate quietly, took the share plank. It cost about 38,- minimum for 2 people. We drank Rose and it was delicious ... headache the next day 🫣. Didn't have dessert, sandwich as a starter. We sat for about 3 hours. 2 more people came in.

At the time we were there (Mother's Day 2025) there was a shortage of staff, which meant it took a long time to get food and drinks.

Waren zaterdag 10 mei voor een gezellige avond met 9 personen. Hadden gekozen voor sharing diner. Maar wat was het eten karig.1 aardappel kroketje had al van te voren aan gegeven geen schelp en schaal dieren.komt toch op tafel. Na een opmerking hierover werd er gemeld dat er te weinig personeel was.heel erg jammer met deze dooddoener Er was geen extra bestek om het eten te delen. Je moest je gebruikte bestek gebruiken niet hygiënisch. Carpaccio was heel erg flinterdun. Eigenlijk een beetje triest, daar we in het verleden verschillende keren heerlijk hebben gegeten. Heel erg jammer.

Had dinner with my wife last Friday. Cozy, cozy restaurant. Clean tables and good chairs. The staff welcomes you friendly and they clearly enjoy working. The food is really tasty. The starters were delicious. The rump steak was delicious and buttery tender and the satay with homemade satay sauce was just right. The healthy fruit/vegetable drinks were also very tasty. It's not really cheap, but the quality is so good that I understand the prices. Highly recommended!

We had a nice meal with our 10 year old grandson. We had a great time and had a delicious meal. My grandson thought the spareribs were great. Only they forgot to serve the fries and we had to wait a long time for dessert, but apologies were made for the long wait.

A cozy establishment with delicious dishes. If it is difficult for you to choose one dish from the menu, the institution recommends an excellent option consisting of 9 different dishes, they are very diverse and tasty. I really liked the dessert. There are enough dishes to fill you up and try a little bit of everything. Meals are served 3 times a day. There is enough time between each serving to want to taste something else. The photo shows dessert and main course. I didn't have time to photograph the snacks because they were delicious.

With great disappointment they tried to reinvent the wheel. Within our group we often came to this restaurant in large numbers this year. Unfortunately, that won't happen again. Much to our dismay, they have changed the menu. Not only the menu, but also the recipes and preparation methods have changed. In the past, the meat fell right off the bone, was buttery soft and wonderfully seasoned without any fuss. Unfortunately, we were very disappointed this evening, and that was also reflected in the bill we received at the end of the evening. Normally we would have spent a lot more, but this almost seemed like a bargain! The service was good, although we found it strange that plates were removed while people were still eating, or that cutlery was brought and then cleared away by a colleague within five minutes. Too bad, an evening full of missed opportunities!

Nice meal with friends. Were kindly received. The quality of the dishes is good, the shared dining dishes are sometimes a bit difficult to share (for example the tuna on rice paper). The highlight was the spicy prawns, you really feel like you are in Spain. Service could be a lot better, a lot went wrong... There was a young girl who I think needs to be guided a little better. All in all a great dinner.

Kevin's is so tidy with owner Kevin and his staff, it is just very nice to eat there in a cozy atmosphere. The food is simply fantastic and very good.

Ordered a full table for 2 p. The food is certainly good.. nice small dishes. But... it could be a little more. It wasn't really a table full. Previously half full...staff had to ask colleagues what the dishes were. Didn't know what was served. Ordering drinks took quite a while. Afterwards the bill was paid for 2 people. 1 xbreakable roll with herb butter 2 x table full 2 episodes alc free 2 coke zero Almost 90 euros paid off...pfft. In short, beautiful dishes Service not really fast Expensive for what you get .

Had a great lunch with Kevin. Tasty fresh, crispy rolls with plenty of fillings. And of course you can drink various tasty beers here. Reasonably priced. Neat business and nice service.

Had lunch again recently and was a bit disappointed. When I indicated that the tomato soup tasted like Verstegen powder with a little water, the service immediately understood, but it couldn't be that bad. “Well it's not that bad” I hope he had a taste in the kitchen. He did indicate that he was going to speak to the kitchen about it. Nice place with a very nice terrace. We will definitely come back because we have often had a good lunch, but if this were the first time we would not have come back.

Very nice thing! Don't miss some vegetables and salad with dinner. Strange fries, beautifully crispy, but strange taste with something resembling mashed potatoes inside. Tasty meat, but side dishes could be better.

What a wonderful afternoon/evening we had during the package sailing in a luxury sloop (via Warbout) and eating at Kevin's in honor of our 25th wedding anniversary. We enjoyed the delicious food (both on board and in the restaurant), cake with bubbles on the "boat" at Kevin's and the friendly service that really deserves all the respect on this hot September Sunday. Delicious food, we chose a full table, 3 courses with several snacks. Delicious and cozy! Another evening we had a party, which was well organized with snacks and drinks and a DJ.

friendly welcome, casual atmosphere. Unfortunately, I noticed a few things that could be improved, such as asking when ordering a meat dish whether it should be made raw, medium or well-done. I also noticed that when people ask if you want something to drink, they refill your wine glass while it is still a third full and then refill it to the normal size. This is not correct, then pour a new glass. The dishes are also sparse and with a meat dish it is only meat and nothing else with it. You have to order it separately. This could also be better, even if it is just a bowl of salad or bread. With the mussels it could also be better, for example, a few pieces of baguette next to the bowl of fries that you have to eat with 2 people and therefore also have to take 2 of them from a bowl. These are small things that are unfortunately done this way in many more restaurants nowadays. So it is important that you do this a little more completely and this costs virtually nothing extra. After the meal you are asked whether you liked it, but the question is asked more on autopilot than as an interested question, which means you do not get any feedback. The positive side is that it is neat, clean and friendly, but this positive feedback is perhaps something that should be addressed in my opinion, hopefully next time it will be a different experience for me, otherwise it will stop.

Spare ribs and sirloin steak were perfect, the downside is that almost no vegetables are served with the dishes. Great that sweet potato fries are on the menu. Service is friendly.

If you want to eat out above average for a fair price, Kevin is the place to be. Highly recommended is “Table full”. Various dishes are then served in a tapas-like manner. It all looks well cared for and the taste is good. We were there on the evening of Remembrance Day, and what we found very respectful was that owner Kevin, a young entrepreneur, reflected on this by turning off the music and pointing out that it was 8 p.m. We think that's neat. We've been there several times and it never disappoints. There is an excellent Spanish wine on the menu, the name of which I have forgotten, but the wine also applies: excellent wine for a fair price. Highly recommended. Kevin's place will not disappoint in terms of price and quality. Unfortunately, that is often different, but certainly not with Kevin.

Ate at Kevin's: very good! Very nice and quick service, delicious food. Four of us each got four dishes to share, three courses. Everything was very tasty and well taken care of. Instead of 'a table full' you can also eat à la carte. Will definitely go back to Kevin's!

Stopped off on our cycle tour return leg to Hoek. The weather was not friendly, but we got a break in the clouds and Kevins was absolute perfect. A great little bar/cafe with seating out front and a boat seating area on the canal to the side. Fantastic friendly service, with nice beers (other beverages are available) and the food was great. We loved it there and it also gave us a chance to see somewhere we hadn't planned on visiting. Maaslius is a lovely place...it along with Kevins, is locked in for future tours as a place to stop!

Kevin's has become one of the better restaurants in Maassluis. We think his menu with small snacks and snacks is a hit. Thanks to chef Paul, by the way. The service is also excellent. We always feel at home there.

De dames in de bediening waren bijzonder aardig. De jonge man had er beduidend minder zin in deze avond. Een van de menukaarten was letterlijk te vet om aan te pakken. Persoonlijk vind ik dat een onsmakelijk begin. Maar goed nu het eten. Smaakvol, creatief en van de 7 gerechten (samen gedeeld en inclusief dessert) ging de gerookte eend voor een extra rondje. De zalmtartaar eindigde op plaats 7. Wat overigens niet betekent dat het een minnetje was. Qua drank hebben we het bij een Spa'tje blauw gehouden dus kan ik niets zinnigs zeggen over de wijnen. We went to Kevin's for dinner with a group of 10+ people. The food tasted good and looked nice. The only point to note was that the distribution of some things on the plate seemed a bit illogical. Obviously one slice of cheddar cheese on the nachos with the hamburger, for example, was a bit strange, but it certainly didn't taste any less. The ability to share many dishes is a real plus. We also had a dog and the fact that he was allowed inside and given a bowl of water is immediately worth 5 stars. The same applies to the fact that there were hygiene products in the ladies' toilet. There's nothing more annoying than being out and suddenly running out. Well organised. Our waiter was friendly, attentive and above all not pushy, which we really liked. We would definitely come back again.

Nicely decorated cafe, although the ladies' toilet really needs a makeover; crooked, loose glasses. Tap half broken. I personally didn't find the food very exciting, bite-sized. The salmon, truffle bitterballs and spareribs were very mediocre. Otherwise a cozy place, nice and warm and nice staff.

We had an evening here, having starters, main courses and desserts. Each and every dish we ordered were made with love. It tasted so good, it was a pure joy to try everything out and enjoy the calm atmosphere. The sofa is so comfortable to sit in, you almost fall asleep. Toilets were also very good and clean. This place is a must for everyone who want to have good food.

Magically! Wow what a wonderful restaurant, so clean and fresh and really nice toilets. Seating both indoors and outdoors, outdoors is on a barge that lies in the water in the canal, really so wonderfully cosy. Such incredibly good food and absolutely wonderful staff with such an incredibly great sense of service. Good menu and good prices. Indoors, there is also a nice bar to sit in if you prefer to have a bar feeling. There was also parking for cars around the area where this restaurant is located.
