30 minutes waiting for the order

Had to wait an hour for my lukewarm chicken even though it wasn't busy.

Exactly what you'd expect from a fast-food restaurant. But I won't be ordering a menu with a chicken burger again. A soggy white bun with a chicken piece that's been sloppily thrown together. So next time, I'll order a bucket of spicy chicken wings.

Save yourself the agony and don't go here. You'll have to wait ages for your food, then be treated like dirt by incompetent, slow, and rude staff with no guidance. Want fast food? There's one a mile down the road that knows better. Should this KFC be locked up and never reopened?

If you try to order outside, someone who doesn't speak Dutch asks what you want. The food is getting more and more expensive; you practically don't get chicken, just fried food. Things are really going downhill in Emmen. Today I ordered a "zinger" (the one in the photo at the entrance), but it's more bread than meat. I advise against ordering. When you get home to New Amsterdam, there are no fries included. Worthless, worthless again, for the price you have to pay.

Great, after a huge drop in quality, I believe they're slowly recovering, and given the bad reviews, I think this deserves mention! Keep up the good work.

Cold, soggy food and a bunch of rude staff who are more proficient in street language than Dutch

Everything was terrible! We ordered, waited over an hour for our food...the milkshake was watery, and they were difficult to get a new one...afterward, we discovered the order wasn't even complete! We paid €4.11 for something, and for what? Cups... but didn't get any money back!! The chicken wasn't crispy at all! It was disgusting, gross, and greasy. €50 wasted, and clearly, we're never going back there again!!

Yesterday, after about a year, I got something to eat here again with my daughter. The last time was a bad experience, but I thought I'd give it another try. When we entered, there were a few people in the restaurant, but we were the only ones ordering at the screen, and the drive-through was empty. We decided to eat it at home. We ended up waiting 55 minutes for a Bucket with a burger and fries! After 25 minutes, I politely asked how long it would take, but apparently, that didn't go over well. The employee (in the plaid shirt) wasn't actually cooking and couldn't do anything about it, but it wouldn't take more than 3 minutes. Finally, after another 15 minutes, I asked if it was almost ready and if the burger, which had been sitting there for 20 minutes, would still be warm. Then, as I was leaving, they mumbled something, and I was told again that there was nothing they could do about it, because the kitchen wasn't moving any faster, and that someone kept taking things away, so my order had to be remade. I noticed that many people in the restaurant were complaining about the extremely long wait times. A few people had been waiting for their food for over an hour, while the rest of the table had already finished their food for over 30 minutes. I found the staff very unfriendly. There were four or five people joking around behind the counter and they found the long wait times particularly amusing. I wonder who should be running things in a restaurant like this, or if they should perhaps hire someone to do it. This situation was simply unacceptable, especially not with the way they were addressing and treating us.

I actually had to wait 55 minutes for one menu. A restaurant is even faster. It's unbelievable.

Tables and other surfaces are sticky as h€ll. Time to close the establishment for one day and conduct a major cleanup. Refunding statiegeld via Tikkie app seems to me like a scheme to rip off customers via obstruction/attrition. This breaks the straw for me to downgrade the ratings to one star in every category.

Just got food for the first time, and also the last time. Received completely the wrong order, and no sauce at all. The food wasn't warm and tasteless. A waste of €13.45.

Good food, restaurant not always clean

I left a great review a year ago, but I have to retract it now. Today I went with two people at 4 p.m. It was quite quiet for dinner, so we decided to order something, two small menus. The food didn't arrive until half an hour after ordering, even though there were only eight orders on the plate. The fries I ordered arrived ice cold, not even lukewarm. The staff barely spoke Dutch, which seems important to me for customer service. I'm very disappointed with this experience and how much this location has deteriorated. It wasn't due to a staff shortage, since there were at least five or six people working in the kitchen. The restaurant's atmosphere is nice, although it echoes so much that when a small child came in, you could barely hear each other. Several people also complained that it took too long.

A terrible place. It should have been a major asset to Emmen, but it's a huge flop. The staff is disinterested and completely devoid of responsibility. Norms and values ​​are nowhere to be found. My heavily pregnant wife and our daughter ordered food. First of all, it took ages, and then, as a pregnant woman, after half a sandwich, she discovered the chicken was still raw. She was sick for a week. Shame on you! If you call to say the chicken was still raw, you're picked up and immediately hung up. The Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority needs to address this. And then there's the fact that there are rats roaming the grounds. It's truly awful.

First and last time for me. I thought I'd go there again. What a bleak place, and all in broken Dutch. The food was terrible.

Just an update: they're now advertising a delicious ice cream. I thought they couldn't screw that up, so I tried again. Bad luck again. You can order and pay for it, but they don't have it. We forgot to delete it from the system because we didn't get anything... a truly awful place. Terrible food, the burger was only half full of what it should have been. The manager is a jerk. He wouldn't fix anything. The iced tea was also gone, and the food was cold. Bad luck, sir, we're not going to fix that. What a... place. Never going back.

They didn't even have scissors to open it. By then, the food was cold. So bring scissors and check if your order is correct!

Had to wait a bloody long time for food. More than an hour. An employee said half the staff was doing nothing. And that only a few were actually busy. And it wasn't busy at all.

We waited half an hour for our food. The sandwiches were cold. My daughter and I both got sick from it; the chicken was most likely bad. It was just filthy inside and out. The tables were sticky. The atmosphere inside wasn't very pleasant either; it was a hangout for the local fat-bike kids. This place should be closed.

I ordered the original burger from the drive-through, but the chicken didn't look or taste fully cooked. I'm pregnant, so this is very frustrating. When you call, it takes too long for them to answer, so you just hang up. Very dissatisfied.

She couldn't speak proper Dutch, which wasn't a problem in itself, but being addressed as "je" (you) by a snotty-nosed guy is obviously awful from a business perspective. The food was decent. But I wouldn't eat there regularly. But still, I said it... KFC Emmen is NOT the best KFC. Unfriendly, customer service unfriendly. After reporting that no receipt had been printed after checkout, they did check, but apparently replacing the roll was too much work. The toilet wasn't clean, and there was no soap, so no way to wash your hands. I've come to expect better service from KFC.

The food was delicious. But the tables were filthy. When we asked for a tablecloth, someone came to do it. The rest of the tables around us remained dirty... didn't he see? Yuck!

We came here to get a milkshake, along with chicken. We wanted to order, and the milkshakes had been taken off the menu, which is a shame because I've always found the KFC milkshakes to be the best. Hopefully, the milkshakes will return.

What terrible service at KFC! I got a Bucket on Friday night. I was on my way, and when I opened the Bucket, the food was cold. I contacted the head office, but they dismissed it with a coupon. So you pay for your food (which is supposed to be warm/hot). If it isn't, you get a discount. I won't be going back. The least they could have done was get a coupon for a new Bucket, but that's too much work. Apparently, too difficult.

The staff is incredibly rude and antisocial. It's obvious they're not interested. Chicken is always disappointing in Emmen. I'd rather drive to Groningen.

We waited super long for our food and when it finally arrived there were drinks and fries missing. The hamburger we had was cold, when I came to the counter for the 2nd time the young man said "can I help you again?" Not the best reaction to a guest...we will not come here again 😅

Tried again today what a drama they don't even listen to your order always goes wrong there worthless staff except for a few of course but unfriendly very unfortunate it could have been so good again not complete and again they didn't listen to what you ordered hats off to McDonalds and Burger King much, much better.. Very unfortunate again!! umpteenth time now that the order is not complete it seems like they just throw something in.. this time called but no one answers, message left and no one calls back either. I go to KFC in several places, but in Emmen it is a crying shame so I can't recommend it people stay away waste of your time, money and your desire to eat.

Hotwings here are fried for so long that they are extremely dry and hard and that is why they are not tasty.. kfc groningen sontplein has really tasty hotwings, nice and tender and juicy.

Not the first time disappointed. Last time they didn't have chicken.. Now no sauce with the squid game burger.. Otherwise I like the menus.

In previous years I used to go here and out with pleasure, but lately things have gone bad. The food is not that good anymore and I felt a bit sick today, it takes too long for our food to arrive and EVERY time they get the order wrong, sometimes very wrong. Some of the employees are also not really friendly. I will not come here anymore.

The only redeeming food here is the chicken, now yes I know, thats kfc's thing. But still. How hard is it to make fries that don't taste like they were made a week ago and reheated in the microwave? Inside KFC it was so dirty that even a vacuum cleaner would cry, the floor was sticky like cotton candy in the summer, and the tables had more sauce than my chicken!!!! And this is not an opinion but a fact!!!!!

What a bad service, really... Dirty tables, filthy floor.. And just waited half an hour for a bit of food. While it's not even mega busy.. And the chicken isn't even hot. Chicken was already ready on our tray and had to wait a bit for the fries (sometimes I checked our tray to see how far along they were) Later we ordered an ice cream. The cone was just stuck at the bottom, how gross. Went back and got a new one but no idea what was underneath... Do we want to pay for this in cash, there is a sign in front of the cash register, something about paying in cash. But no, that wasn't possible because they didn't have change 😅 But have someone walk around, wipe tables, sweep leftovers off the floor. That looks a lot neater. I won't be back for food anyway..

I had a really disappointing experience at this KFC. First off, they don’t serve coffee, which is surprising and inconvenient for a fast food place. On top of that, the restaurant was very loud, making it hard to enjoy the meal or even have a conversation. The worst part was how dirty the place was. Tables were left uncleared, floors were messy, and the overall cleanliness left a lot to be desired. This is definitely not the standard I expect from KFC. I won’t be returning to this location anytime soon.

I went through the drive through here and ordered a Bucket crispy tenders they didn't have it right. Then I did 2x 9 filet bites instead of 2 we drove to the 2nd window to pay and receive then we got 1x filet bites and when we opened them there were only 6 in it and the medium fries were tough and cold. If I could give this place minus stars I would have!

My daughter paid €1 for a deposit cup and when she returned it she was told that they 'don't do deposits anymore'. The receipt literally says that she paid €1 deposit. She had to keep the cup.. Nice this - not.

Ordered food here tonight. Unfortunately, the burger I received was cold! I said something about this to the employee, but they responded with rolling their eyes and saying that no more burgers were being made. I also paid for extra bacon that was not on the burger. Friends of mine also all had cold burgers, fries and chicken pieces. The toilet was also a big mess. We arrived half an hour before closing time and were immediately shouted at that we could only take away. When we asked why we were not allowed to sit down, the lady reacted very arrogantly. Friends had ordered a bucket but a certain chicken was out of stock. The lady said that it was not her problem. All in all, bad service, bad food and terribly arrogant staff.

We have ordered and 10 peace bucket and two burgers and a large chips. Have been waiting for our order for 20 min. So after I went and asked what is going on. Just for them not to speek English and secondly tell me they they don't have chicken, and we have to wait longer. This is atrocious service and I would rather come d to go to another place.!

I don't know why people feel the need to leave a bad review on a place that's basically run by teenagers. We went on a weekday and used the drive-through. The service was great, they spoke Dutch and English, the food was great. We had the tenders and a bucket of hot wings. Everything was perfect. They even came out to bring us our order! Dirty tables and a very long wait for cold food. When you say something about this, the food is warm enough according to the staff. Worthless deposit system where not all cups are 'checked in' and you simply lose the deposit of 1 euro per cup.

Together with my girlfriend we went through the drive of the KFC in Emmen in the evening. We thought we would have a nice meal together... when we arrived at the drive we were almost at the front of the order post. We had to wait a total of 35 to 40 minutes before we could finally order. The people in front of us were also very irritated because they had to wait so long. After ordering it took another 20 minutes before we got our food. When we finally got our food, it was almost cold. Still trying to stay positive and try to enjoy the food. After a few bites my girlfriend already indicated that she did not feel very well and had the idea that the food was not quite right. When we got home again, everything had not gone down well and we were both sick from the food. My girlfriend immediately indicated that this was because of eating the KFC, but I did not want to believe it myself. That is why I went back to the KFC the next day and ordered food again. This time it went a lot faster than the night before. Ordered food again in the drive and ate it in the parking lot. After eating my order I got really sick and my girlfriend and I could conclude that the food here was not good. I am a huge fan of KFC and have been going there for years, the KFC in Zwolle to be precise. I can tell you that the food at the KFC in Emmen is not good and they do not have their stuff in order there. Maybe the Dutch Food and Consumer Product Safety Authority should come by for an inspection at this location! I am sure they will find several 🚩 there! I hope something will be done about this, because I think they have a very nice location in Emmen. Very unfortunate for me as a KFC fan😢

Everything mediocre Not a nice atmosphere, staff not really friendly

Ordered veggie tenders at the drive thru and they were ice cold. When I went inside to ask for a replacement they first looked at me like I was being annoying for no reason. They discussed in front of me for a while until a manager came and touched the tenders. His reaction was weird like: "oh yes these are indeed cold" they somehow just didn't believe me until they touched the product. Got a replacement without any kind of apology. Multiple times I ordered bbq sauce at the drive thru but did not receive it. When i look at my receipt later I notice i did pay for it. I brought this up next time but they were never understanding and never offered a replacement. I still like KFC but unfortunately this establishment cannot receive a higher rating.

Disappointing experience with deposit system Went to KFC today and unfortunately had a very strange experience with the deposit system. We had to pay a €1 deposit for our drinks, but were simply given disposable cardboard cups instead of the reusable cups with a scan code. Nothing was explained or reported by the employee. We saw several people try to hand in their paper cups, but of course they couldn't. In the end they just threw it away. This basically means that KFC unfairly earns €1 extra for every cup. Very unclear and not customer friendly. Hopefully this will be corrected soon.
