I had an amazing experience at Kimso, and a huge part of that was thanks to our wonderful server, Charlie. From the moment we walked in, she greeted us with a warm smile and made us feel very welcome. She was incredibly attentive, patient, and friendly throughout the entire meal, always checking in to make sure we were comfortable and satisfied. Her service was truly exceptional and made our dining experience so much more enjoyable.

I ordered gimbap (a kind of Ala sushi) and it was delicious, along with bulgogi and a soda. I highly recommend it, but be warned, you can expect diarrhea after eating it. It was like a tap watering down my throat.

The female employee who worked this past Friday almost did the work of two people and was incredibly kind! I think reservations are essential! I couldn't make it the next day, so I got it to go. I wasn't expecting much from Korean food abroad, but it was absolutely delicious!!! I ate two bowls of rice. The bulgogi didn't smell fishy at all. The soup was generous with ingredients and was made with care!

A lovely and delicious restaurant. Unfortunately, the 1.5-hour time slot actually went down to 1.10 hours. So our dessert wasn't delivered, just one bingsu that the four of us wanted to share. The kimchi has too much sugar, which is a shame. The dishes we ate were delicious!

The food is truly delicious. I ordered a bit too much but took the leftovers home with me. I love their seafood pancakes and fried chicken. This time we had a kind of hot pot, which was delicious.

I was craving Korean food so I came here, but it's a fake. The employees seem to be of Chinese descent and don't speak Korean. I was surprised because the entrance is right next to the red light district. The tteokbokki is less spicy and bland than when I eat it in Korea, but it's okay. However, the bibimbap was disappointing because it had a very small amount of gochujang and no sesame oil flavor by Korean standards. The beef ramen has a lot of beef and tastes similar to Korea's Samyang Ramen.

The kimchi stew and soft tofu stew were both delicious. I savored every spoonful. I wasn't expecting much from the side dishes, but they gave me a whole plate, as if it was a freebie. The soft tofu stew was incredibly filling, and the prices were reasonable, so I highly recommend it. QR ordering and counter checkout were also convenient.

I was in Amsterdam 1 week ago for 4 days and I had dinner for two consecutive days at Kim's So and it was fantastic. The food was delicious, a wonderful place and the staff were very kind and helpful. A fantastic experience. I hope to go back

Been here in september and we forgot to leave a review but we felt like it was truly due. The atmosphere was nothing short of amazing, familiar and intimate in a way, we felt very welcomed. The staff was friendly and took time with us by explaining what the dishes were, as this was our first Korean restaurant and heavily recommended by our traveler friends. The food was also great, during our stay we ended up eating twice there. Totally recommend!

Best Korean food that I’ve had in Amsterdam

After a day in Amsterdam, you can enjoy some delicious Chinese food.

The Korean fried chicken with honey mustard was incredible, and the beef dishes were just as delicious. The only downside was the slightly uncomfortable seating, but overall, a great dining experience!

This has to be the best korean restaurant I've been to in Europe. Their Japchae is perfect, chicken is juicy and flavorfull, Gimbap tasty, their staff friendly, fast and competent... If I have to say something negative it is that it somewhat expensive (we always have around 65€ for 2 persons) and it is always full, so you really have to male a reservation. For larger groups reserve multiple days in advance

The Korean cuisine is very delicious and every dish is very authentic, but there are so many people that you need to make a reservation. Basically, you can't sit for long after eating.

This is not authentic Korean food unfortunately. I got jjajangmyeon and the meat was in huge chunks, the sauce was watery and not really tasting of much. I found it quite sweet, and not like the ones I am used to. Service was nice, but it's also in the red light district right opposite a brothel. So that may not be pleasant for some. I didn't have to wait for a table and the food was quick.

Make a reservation. I went without a reservation and ended up waiting for a while. Also it's across one of the red district shop, so if you are with children, go during the day.

This place is just so good. Their fried chicken is soooo juicy and tasty, best fried chicken I’ve ever had (got the sweet and sour). Also their jajjangmyeon is incredible. Tender meat and chewy noodles (in a good way) will be coming back!!!

I’m not sure how this place has so many good reviews, must be the tourists. Food was alright but nowhere near five stars. I’ve tried Korean food across the world and this one was quite underwhelming. The bulgogi dish has only a few pieces of meat at whopping 19.90 EUR. I will keep looking for a good quality Korean restaurant.

Last week I went here with my friends. We ordered Tuna Kimbap, Tteokbokki and Mango Bingsu. It was the best kimbap that I had, tteokbokki was also really good - its very spicy though so beware. But the star of the show would be Mango Bingsu. The best bingsu in town. The service was also very nice with friendly employees. The restaurant is a bit packed but what can you do if you are in Amsterdam Center. Definitely recommended :))

My favorite restaurant in Amsterdam whenever I want to have Korean foods. The staffs are really nice! For the fried chickens, I personally have sweet and spicy as my top 1. The crazily spicy ones is literally crazily spicy, the spicy level is 11 out of 10, no kidding 🥵 If you go with a group more than 2, recommend the bulgogi beef, the portion is already enough for the group indeed 🤤 Since the queue is really long, if you don’t book a table in advance, you will have to wait around 50 mins for the table

Kim's So offers a wide selection of the most popular Korean dishes and drinks, as well as various soups, bibimbap, kimbap, pancakes with kimchi or seafood, fried chicken, and other delicacies. Having been here several times, I've tried the juicy chicken with sweet and spicy toppings that melt in my mouth. The menu includes spicy topok (mild compared to the ones I had in Seoul 🙂), rice dumplings dipped in a sweet and spicy gochujang sauce. For an appetizer, I recommend the bulgogi kimbap; it's delicious! Bibimbap is served in a traditional pot, which browns the rice beautifully and keeps the dish warm for a long time. Many dishes come with a selection of small salads and banchan, usually featuring slightly spicy cucumbers, pickled radish, or kimchi. The meal is rounded off with an order of bingsu. This is a delicious ice cream dessert made with grated condensed milk. You can choose from several options: strawberry, tiramisu, or matcha. It's a light, sweet dessert, the ice cream is like a cloud. I recommend trying it at least once; it's completely different from traditional ice cream or gelato. The ordering process is also worth mentioning. Each table has a QR code that takes you to the menu page, where you can conveniently choose and order everything. If you want to visit the restaurant during dinner hours, I recommend making a reservation online in advance. During peak hours, the restaurant is packed, and you have to wait in a long line. This time, I visited the restaurant with my parents, who were trying Korean specialties for the first time and were as delighted as I was.

THE STAFF IS AMAZIIING!!!!! The food is delicious and for the location the prices are not expensive. The korean fried chicken a MUST! They were fast, the food was made to order and the staff were friendly, charming and left us wanting to come back! The music and the ambience was on point. Definitely recomendable for friend groups or a special date.

I was here for the dinner and the food is wonderful. I think all the dishes that I ordered is totally worth the price and the service, taste like authentic Korean cuisine. All the waitresses here are sooooo kind and friendly, also very beautiful and cute. I will definitely visit next time.

I ordered jeongol and sundubu jjigae. Bulgogi jeongo doesn't come with rice, but jjigae comes with a bowl of rice. Personally, I think the prices are reasonable compared to other Korean restaurants in the Netherlands. Soju is particularly affordable at 9.90 euros, and beer is also very affordable at 3.50 euros.

Very friendly and respectful staff! Loved the food and the service. The toilets were very clean and smelled nice. The restaurant was also very beautiful and cozy. I loved the vibe there and the interior design. It was my first time eating at a Korean place and I would definitely recommend!

Kim’s So ~ is a small but charming Korean restaurant, tucked away in the middle of Amsterdam. The location feels a bit hidden, but once you find it, the cozy atmosphere makes you want to stay. The menu offers a good selection of authentic Korean dishes. The food is tasty, well-prepared, and really captures the flavors of Korea – definitely worth trying if you enjoy Asian cuisine. Ordering is done via a QR code, which feels a little unusual at first. It might seem impersonal, but it’s fast and convenient once you get used to it.

A very good experience at this Korean restaurant not far from the red light district of Central Station. There aren't many seats, so be sure to book in advance (I went on a Wednesday evening, booked at 4:30 pm to get a table at 7:30 pm—simple and efficient!). The service is impeccable: no time wasted; you choose what you want via their website using a QR code directly at the table. You're served quickly and with a smile! As for their cuisine: you have a very varied selection while remaining true to Korean culture. Their dishes are excellent, and in terms of quantity... We couldn't finish it all! All this at a very affordable price (€15 per person for a very good and generous dish). I recommend this place and will return if the opportunity arises!

First time eating black bean sauce and it was amazing! Big portion. Great kimchi and chicken as well. You order through the QR code which is super convenient and gives you time to go through the menu - there are also vegetarian options! As well as Korean beer and soju. Better to make a reservation in the evening. At the end we ordered dessert: strawberry shaved ice and it was a good choice - very refreshing and light. Don’t be surprised as it is located in the red light district in one of its back alleys (window to window)
