Good quality bread and products, and very helpful staff

No idea how it works here. I've been standing here for a while and no one pays any attention to us. Strange.

Delicious products, beautiful shop. Bread really has flavor here! You can taste the craftsmanship in the various sourdoughs.

Apart from the bread and other products, everything inside this shop is a complete mess. The entire staff is very unfriendly and would rather hide behind the counter than do their job properly. They can’t even manage a “hello.” The only form of greeting you receive here consists of sour looks. I used to visit constantly as a regular customer, but after the umpteenth visit, I decided that I would rather eat processed bread from the supermarket than have to show up here. The lack of customer friendliness is now evident from multiple reviews of this shop… Staff should focus more on allergens and cross-contamination. Often, breads are sold here with different ingredients than what is listed on the label (such as the use of a different, usually cheaper, nut, while you pay exactly the same price). If you bring this up, nothing is done about it. If you bring this up repeatedly? Then expect that as soon as you leave the shop, they will immediately start gossiping about you (as I experienced myself). We won't be coming here anymore. Just like plenty of other residents in the center of Valkenburg.

A small pie, admittedly delicious, but then you have to pay €14 at the cash register while the staff member disinterestedly makes a private phone call while helping you. I couldn't get a good afternoon or thank you. So, a one-time visit. It's clear that if they hear you're not from Limburg, all friendliness disappears immediately. So, "Dutchies" avoid this place!!

Last Monday I got bread for this week. Only at work, there was straw in my bread. It felt like fish scales. Hard and sharp. And the bread was also very dry. The store was very nice, though. And there was a lot of selection.

We found it online; they have very good cakes and great breads (with good flavor and texture). The lady gave us good advice and even cut two cakes in half. A plus for the location is that you can park for free for up to an hour in the AH parking garage. We'll definitely go there again next time we're in the area.

Beautiful shop with beautiful products. Unfortunately, the staff were completely unhelpful and couldn't even say hello. After saying hello twice, they forced a hello back, which was a shame, because it took the fun out of buying anything there.

A couple of months ago (June 2nd to be precise) I bought a Baguette. I was shocked by the price. Although not bad, it is really way too expensive for what you get. For this price, you can get almost three excellent Baguettes Tradition in France.

Valkenburg is characterized by the renowned Limburg hospitality. A true breath of fresh air. A friendly chat, excellent service, or some truly useful advice. This bakery would have been better off in Amsterdam's canal district. It oozes urban arrogance. While we were in the shop, our daughter was sitting on the bench outside. Well, she certainly knew what she was doing. A slightly older employee watched over the bench as if it were a priceless piece of medieval cultural heritage. With a growl and a snarl, she and we were ordered to leave. Not far away was another bakery. Luckily, here we still found the Limburg hospitality we so appreciate…

Not a nice man, Racist against the average Dutch citizen, which he himself is. Small bag of sandwiches 18 euros way too much

After my partner and I used the bench outside, while we were in possession of products from another business (according to the owner, this was a serious and antisocial problem), we were repeatedly harassed by this owner, after which we were sent away in an extremely unfriendly and violent manner because we were not welcome here. We were then treated in a racist manner and he then also physically attacked us, all this happened under the watchful eye of other potential customers. While the owner was physically attacking us, one of the respectable and polite bystanders helped us out of the fire and stopped the attacker. The incident we experienced has apparently happened more often, he also warned that this gentleman was not afraid to use really heavy physical violence on us. I have suffered physical wounds and above all I have suffered serious permanent mental damage and my view of the environment has changed forever. I am in disbelief that I am not welcome because of my ‘Dutch’ (I am also a born and bred Brabander) origin and that we ‘always’ cause a nuisance (which was absolutely not the case in this case). Racism is not welcome anywhere, this owner thinks completely differently about this. The worst thing of all in this situation is that the son of this alleged owner had to watch all this. I will never be able to come to the region of this establishment again because of the fear that I will suffer permanent injuries again. Avoid this case at all costs, not only for yourself but also for society as a whole.

I thought about going into a sandwich shop, but that was a huge disappointment after the owner refused to help me because I wasn't from Limburg. The man thought he could tell from my voice when I said that the man became aggressive and physically threw me outside.

My friend and I were physically chased out of the store and shouted at in a racist manner like a bunch of Dutch people. Not normal

What kind of business is this 😳 No prices anywhere and they think they are selling gold Waaaay too expensive don't let them rip you off. 18 euros for a loaf of bread with almond paste 😂😂😂😂 Can also be small without almond paste for 10 euros

Vandaag heb ik bij deze winkel 3 stukken taart gekocht (van bakker Peter Lemmens). Eerst gevraagd aan de medewerkster wat de prijs van de Grenache taart was. Dit moest ze navragen en de prijs was €4,--. Bij de kassa moest ik echter €15.60 afrekenen. Dat is niet wat we afgesproken hadden, maar goed, ik ben toch akkoord gegaan. Echter bij thuiskomst bleek dat 2 stukjes taart al wat ouder waren en er was maar 1 stukje echt vers. Voor de prijs €5.20 per stukje mag je toch wel verse taart verwachten lijkt me. De taart smaakte muf en de macaronbodem was niet meer knapperig. Omdat we deze taart vaak direct in de winkel van Peter Lemmens kopen viel ons dus nu duidelijk op dat de kwaliteit niet was zoals we gewend zijn. Erg jammer dus!

The Stollen was the best I've ever tasted, absolutely delicious. Expensive but worth it, the layer of honey was unbelievably good, making every mouthful pure heaven.

Very friendly staff? I didn't find such staff in this store this week. They are very unfriendly and definitely not customer-focused!

Way too expensive! Bag of buns and some sandwiches €14 really ridiculous, there are no prices listed anywhere, so you will be in for a surprise at the cash register.

Bought a bag of sandwiches for €8.64! These are no longer normal prices. Then you expect a sandwich filled with gold, but unfortunately it was dry and 'light'. It really meant nothing. Very unfortunate.

They sell Basque currant bread, but that does not exist in the Spanish Basque Country. Moreover, it is far too expensive.

Hele sfeervolle winkel met kwaliteitsproducten. Veel verschillende producten; brood, vlaaien, kaasjes, lokale producten etc. Het brood heeft een goede knapperige korst! Ook een leuke zaak om een cadeautje voor iemand te kopen. Zelf een potje honing als cadeautje gekocht.

Extremely aromatic and deliciously tasty. Fresh bread, ham and cheese, awesome coffee and tee. Full recommendation!

Kwamen voor een kleine snack. Eindigden met een volledige lunch. Wat een leuke plek. Vaardig en behulpzaam personeel, mooie ambiance en te gekke producten. Zeker aan te raden om hier even naar binnen te gaan!

Fijne plek en lekkere broodjes! Belegd broodje met kaas en met ham gegeten. Goed en vriendelijk geholpen! Ook de koffie was top!

Een bijzonder concept deze traiteurwinkel. Een ambachtelijke bakker, die ter plaatse bakt in combinatie met een delicatessenstore. Bij een lekker kopje koffie of thee kun je heerlijk genieten van al dat lekkers
