First experience with Korean BBQ worth repeating

Excellent, tasty meat to cook yourself. Not a huge selection of sushi. Very friendly service and a cozy atmosphere.

We ate here on a busy Saturday night. Beautiful, atmospheric restaurant. Super-friendly, efficient service, lovely tender, tasty BBQ meat, and delicious sushi. The other side dishes were also excellent. Generous portions. We're fans!

The concept of free ordering is really cool. This allows you to try a wide variety of dishes. And every single one was delicious. The service was friendly. The only minor issue was that something went wrong with our last order, and the two remaining dishes arrived very late. However, this was compensated for on the bill.

We ate quite well, the prices were okay. The only problem was that we were told the shrimp were out of stock… impossible for an all-you-can-eat restaurant.

It was an unforgettable experience. The atmosphere was incredibly pleasant and enjoyable.

Great restaurant, the BBQ extractor fan is thankfully not in plain sight but inside the table. The cute delivery robot unfortunately doesn't come to every table. The service and restroom could be better, but overall, the experience was great and the food was delicious.

Ate here for the first time with the family! I love the atmosphere, it's wonderfully relaxed and really well-decorated. The staff (and the robot cat🤩) were really nice and calm and spot on with everything. The food was truly delicious. We'll definitely be back.

Nice restaurant. You can put the food on a BBQ yourself. Ideal to do with a group. Quality is very good and the service is fast. Food and drinks can be ordered via a tablet. 2 snacks per person per round. The restaurant is very modern. There are robots driving around that assist the service with bringing around the dishes.

Great Korean bbq, very friendly waiters and cute robot that brings food. Cocktails are great and big choice of soft drinks, don’t miss out on the dessert, black sesam ice and the bun are really worth saving space in your stomachs

What really stood out was the robot that helps deliver the dishes — it works alongside the staff and adds a cool futuristic vibe to the whole experience. Service was friendly and efficient. Very dirty food, everything tastes the same. Unripe fruits go on the sushi. There is little choice as a vegetarian. And little choice in sushi. Not recommended

Our visit to this sushi restaurant was nothing short of awful. Where I normally enjoy fresh, tasty sushi, this was absolutely not the case. The vegetables and fruits on the sushi were not ripe and hard, the avocado pieces were bitter and the tomatoes tasted like they came straight from the fridge without any ripeness. The meat was even worse. It felt like I was just eating muscle and tissue. There was no flavor at all and the texture was anything but pleasant. It was tough and without any of the tenderness you would expect from good fish or meat in a sushi restaurant. I absolutely cannot recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for a quality sushi experience.

Atmosphere is good, service is great, the food is the same as other all you can eat restaurants, nothing special

A beautifully decorated restaurant, friendly service. I do think that the choice as a vegetarian is really limited, and that is a shame. There are vegetables to grill, a tofu dish with lots of sweet sauce and a few types of sushi, and a few side dishes and fried snacks. The vegetable mandu are really delicious! A well-marinated tofu or tempeh on the BBQ menu would not be out of place. As a vegetarian I wouldn't choose this restaurant, but with company you don't have to starve.

Just a chic place, the food is really delicious, I'm not going to Koya for the first time and plan to continue doing it, my favorite restaurant, great and nice service, good pastime and great music, thank you for wonderful impressions and memories

It was our first time, we had a great time and had a nice spot. The service is smooth and so is the serving of the dishes. The delivery robot was a nice addition. Some minor negatives: * better extraction in the shop would make it more pleasant. * a more extensive choice on the menu, we found the selection of meat to be fried a bit on the meager side. The choice available was also very tasty, and the ready-made dishes were also good. The sushi was also very tasty. Overall good!

Koya is actually sushi meets gourmet with a Korean twist. You can order prepared dishes via a tablet, which most people are familiar with from a sushi restaurant. Of course there are a number of Korean delicacies. You can also order meat and fish that you have to barbecue yourself at the table. Occasionally orders are delivered by a robot. That's a funny detail I have tried everything myself and it tasted great. The staff was friendly. And the restaurant itself was well decorated. I personally didn't find the chairs very comfortable. Especially because I couldn't fit my legs properly because there is also a gas installation under the table. All in all a nice experience and delicious food. We will definitely come back again.

Went to Koya for dinner yesterday. Very pleasant atmosphere and the service was good and fast. Food arrived soon after ordering and was very tasty. Very nice and cheerful staff. Prices aren't too bad either! Definitely recommended :)

Both the barbecue and the sushi were excellent, and the service was even better!

Ate here on Christmas Day with family. What a taste sensation! We enjoyed all the delicious things that were either already ready or that we could prepare ourselves on the BBQ. (we secretly made the joke about the well-known Dutch Gourmetten) This was really different. In addition, the Sushi was also great. Staff were also extremely friendly, attentive and helpful.

Me and my partner have been to other Korean BBQ before, but this was a better experience for us. The restaurant is spacious with sufficient space between the tables. The food was good and there was plenty of choice throughout the day. The sushi is of excellent quality. Furthermore, it is pleasant to eat here and the staff is attentive.

The value for the price is great, the taste of all foods were amazing. Their delivery service is super quick and the staff is also very nice. We loved the unlimited rounds so we could enjoy a variety of dishes, of which the sweet buns, spicy Korean fried chicken, kimchi pajeon and chicken teriyaki were our favs!! We are definitely returning 🥰

Delicious food, you can order often enough and friendly staff!!

Attractive Korean BBQ restaurant on the Stationsweg, on the edge of the center of Leeuwarden. They have a nice concept where you manage the BBQ yourself. You can order a maximum of 3 dishes per round via a tablet. These are largely delivered by robot. The service is super nice and regularly comes by to ask if everything is to your liking. They have sufficient choice (but I didn't like everything), in addition to BBQ dishes you can also order side dishes (you don't have to BBQ). I think the three types of Korean beers are a plus!

Great food; fresh and flavourful to the T. Good value for what you get, and the overall vibe is relaxed. Time flew by. Highly recommend, definitely coming to visit again.

A favorite restaurant where we like to eat several times a year and drive there specifically with over an hour of rising time.

What is worse is that the food is not served together. Suppose you order with 7 people, then half of them will always receive their food later. Otherwise a good restaurant and nice for smaller groups instead of 15 people

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The food is tasty and the price/quality is also very good. The meat is well seasoned and deliciously tender the sushi with duck is definitely recommended, simply heavenly. We were there for our 3 year anniversary and are very happy we chose this place. The robot waiter that drives around and brings your order is also cute. This is highly recommended if you want to have a nice meal, we will definitely see you again ❤️

Delicious food for a great price

I thought it was a bit overpriced. The portions of meat are very small, so you often have to order more, which can only be done once every 10 minutes. The seasoning on the meat was not appropriate for Korean barbecue, something I did not expect. I was solo and for dinner and 3 drinks during the week I spent €44.

Nice concept where you manage the BBQ yourself. The interior also has a nice atmosphere and friendly service. The choice is sufficient, in terms of meat there are a number of options that are good but not spectacular. With 2 people we paid around €92 and ordered 4 drinks.

Had dinner at this restaurant tonight with my husband. Both delicious meals, nice atmosphere, good service, friendly staff reinforced by a nice robot. Food was delicious! Green tea ice cream highly recommended.

Nicely decorated restaurant, combination of sushi and barbecue at 1 table keeps you positively occupied, high-quality products, cozy atmosphere incl. robot that also brings the food to the tables. Very friendly staff who constantly brings food and takes back used plates. We will definitely come again. Thank you Koya.

Basically it was all good: the food, the service, the atmosphere and the layout of the restaurant. Only when it got a bit busier, orders came a bit too slowly. For example, we had to wait half an hour for a bowl of lettuce. The reason we didn't think this was a big problem (and also a tip for the reader) is because the orders are quite large. We ordered the first round thinking we would get tapas portions, but it was a lot bigger.

Delicious Korean vegetables, meat and fish barbecued... everything has a different delicious taste... The Sesame Ice Cream was super delicious!

We wanted to try something new for Valentine's Day, and Koya was the perfect choice. All of the food was fresh and delicious, the service was fast, and the staff were lovely. There was a large selection of dishes and barbecue meat included in the all-you-can-eat price. The Korean watermelon soda and the peach soju were also amazing! We loved the cute cat robot too. For Valentine's, we even got a complimentary rose, which was a nice touch. We will definitely be coming back!

Nice concept, shame about the lack of quality of the food. The meat was tough, the chicken was way too salty... You have to pay extra for some dishes while dinner is already €35... For that money I would rather go to another restaurant with higher quality. And believe me, there are. Also for that money. Friendly staff & nice Korean drinks on the menu.

Delicious food! The sushi and meat from the BBQ tasted very delicious. I did think the meat was less flavored than Konbu Jiro in Groningen. Hence 4 stars. Service was very friendly and helpful. It was also very pleasant.
