This authentic Thai restaurant is fantastic. Lovely food.

Really delicious creative dishes, with balanced flavour (not too spicy), combined with friendly service, in the pleasant historic district. Pity it has recently become too expensive, and sneaky priced by overcharging for drinks; 3 euros for tap water and 8 euros for 70cl sparkling water is ridiculous pricing in my view.

Great find near Rembrandtplein on a quiet street. Lovely atmosphere -- casual but had the feeling of fine dining with the ambience. Food was absolutely delicioius. Loved the papaya salad and the red Panang curry with fish was exceptional -- although a little spicy. Beef salad was a hit and soups were excellent. Highly recommend for an enjoyable dinner in Amsterdam.

I highly recommend this restaurant. The food is excellent, and I especially want to highlight how kind and helpful Pass (the waiter) was. I have a food allergy, and he immediately found a solution so I could eat whatever I wanted. Very professional and friendly staff.

Delicious traditional Thai food and lovely staff!

Delicious Thai food in Amsterdam! We got their spring rolls, Panang curry, and pad thai, and all three did not disappoint. All dishes were super flavorful and balanced. Would definitely come back here the next time we’re in Amsterdam.

The food was incredibly delicious, the service was excellent, and the outdoor seating was great, but unfortunately, it was all taken. However, the staff's friendliness more than made up for it.

We saw that it was close to our hotel and as the reviews were great we gave it a try. The good was very flavoursome and ghe portions very generous. We had chicken stay as starters which were tender. Pad Thai and chicken with cashew and fried rice. Really delicious 😋

What a wonderful place this is. I had a delicious meal here recently, and everything was perfect down to the last detail. The dishes not only look fantastic, but they taste just as good. I was particularly struck by the attention to presentation, such as that beautifully carved carrot in the shape of a leaf. The food is fresh and rich in flavor. I will definitely be back here soon for another round.

Amazing delicious food and super friendly staff!

I really enjoyed Yum Nua-yang, the Thai grilled beef salad. The beef was tender, and the flavor balance—sweet, salty, sour, and spicy—was exactly what I asked for. The service was excellent—warm and welcoming. If you’re a Thai cuisine fan, chat with the waitstaff; they might surprise you with something special off the menu.

It's a real shame to leave this review as the staff were so welcoming and attentive, but the food was incredibly bland and tasteless. Had we asked for replacements I'm sure they would have obliged, but if you're looking for reliably good food I might give this a miss.

I'm very positively surprised. It's the best Thai food I've ever eaten. It's delicious, delicate, and has that special something. Is it expensive? Probably not for Amsterdam. It's worth paying a little extra for this kind of food. The service is very friendly. I only speak German, so it was difficult to communicate, but I saw how they treat all customers with cordial conversation. So, only positives.

Delicious GORGEOUS dishes. The service was prompt and friendly. Our server Recommend some delicious dishes(33, green curry ,40) which we shared plent for 2 more people. We also started with the sampler which provided an amuse boushe of each for the 3 of us; the only disappointing bite was the fish cake (and that was a texture thing for me). We had to wait 45 minutes since we didn’t make a reservation; we just went up the street and had a drink while we waited no problem. I’ll definitely be bringing more friends back next time I’m in the city!

Great Thai food and very family friendly. We didn’t have a reservation but we’re seated quickly. The waitstaff were very friendly and were great with the kids. The food was made very quickly and was all delicious. I would definitely go back.

We love pad thai and we came here for it, we ordered pad thai of praws and it was really terrible, we left the plate completely full. I don't know if there was wrong with the fish sauce but it tasted like something was wrong. The rice was in sticky balls, not loose. Really dissapointing. I give 2 stars since waiters were very nice but we are not coming back neither recommend.

WOW an incredible dinner. A team of friendly and welcoming servers with delicious food. We had the spring rolls, Tom Yum, prawn Pad Thai and Duck Red Thai curry all of which were delicious. Highly recommended!

Absolutely fantastic experience. We’ve been to many Thai restaurants, and this is definitely one of the best we’ve tried. The food was full of flavour and really well prepared. The beef and catfish were both incredibly tender and were recommended by the chef. The service made it even better — our waiter and the owner were both very friendly and welcoming, and it’s clear they take real pride in what they do. It’s a shame that we don’t live nearby otherwise we would absolutely become one of your regulars. Thanks again for an incredible meal.

Not only did we have an excellent experience with very pleasant and professional staff, but we also discovered refined dishes with perfectly balanced flavors made from fresh ingredients. A nice touch was the owner coming around to chat with the customers.

It’s always a pleasure to visit Krua Thai. Since it’s on the next street to my house, I visit here frequently and everytime I am delighted by the service and the quality of the food. Chef and his younger son Pate (I might be wrong with spelling, please excuse) are very warm, friendly and they always give best recommendations.

Best Thai food I've had outside of Thailand.

A fantastic experience! The service was exceptionally attentive, and the owner offered helpful advice and recommendations regarding the dishes. The food itself was fresh, piping hot, and incredibly delicious. The restaurant is relatively small and a bit cramped. However, it's worth noting that this is common in Amsterdam, and the layout often makes it unavoidable. Krua Thai has handled this very charmingly. We stopped by while passing through, and since the Google rating was high, we went straight in. It turned out to be even better than we expected. The portions were both generous and delicious. The service was very fast, and the waiters were very friendly.

Last night I visited this Krua Thai Classic restaurant. The Green Thai Curry was good but I was hungry, so everything is good when we are hungry. Why I give them one star is because of the service. The waiters have charged me additionally for the rice, and on the menu the main meals got a fixed price or if this is not like that they should say that there is two different prices for the rice and separately for the Green Curry. BUT WHAT WAS EVEN MORE OUTRAGEOUS WAS HOW THE WAITER TYPED HERSELF THE AMOUNT OF TIP WHILE I WAS ABOUT TO PAY. She did not asked me if the amount she insert as a tip is okay for me. Food was good but the service was terrible. Other waiters was coming often to my table asking if they can take the plates or glasses. I will never visit this restaurant again! And if you decide to go there, be careful with the prices they will ask you to pay.

They have a lot to choose from. What we ordered was all very good and arroy. It's a small and cozy place. The people were very nice and explained everything.

While the experience wasn't bad at all, I miss the service quality from some years ago. Delicious food, but something was missing. The interactions with us were minimal, untrained stuff, no "food in our mouth" which is somehow known for. Ambient has reduced quality. Given how much it cost, you'd expect to keep the overall quality. No complains about the food quality, though.

Truly delicious food and the service is so friendly. We loved the flavors especially of the masaman curry and the side vegetables. Will go back again soon. A reservation is wise-- it's a popular place.

As all of us have been to Thailand multiple times we were having quite high expectations. Some dishes were great but some of the dishes tasted more like Chinese than Thai (for example chicken with cashew nuts). But sticky rice mango was great. Oh yeah, and it was also quite pricey.

Came here because of the good reviews. We are big thai food lovers in our home country and were excited to try it in Amsterdam. We were not disappointed and the food was delicious. I had the masamman curry and my partner had the black pepper and garlic beef. Both were delicious along with the sides. Service was excellent!

Food tasted good. But they mandated main dish for each person in the group. We ended up not trying any of the starter or other options as the main dish was a lot to finish. People there classified us as non-vegetarians/non-beef eaters just by looking at us which made us feel quite awkward. The overall experience was less than okayish though this place had best reviews.

When deciding to go for Thai food in a European capital, naturally, expectations are low. I can say, that without a doubt, this is an all star Thai restaurant on par, if not better, than many of the restaurants in Bangkok. Krua Thai has managed to blend the best of both words. The uncle in back cooking over an open flame to the high quality meats and fresh ingredients of the Netherlands. I appreciate the boldness of the following statement and I’ll say it anyway: after having lived in south east Asia for the last 10 years, I probably have had higher than average Thai food consumption - and I have to say that this was the best I’ve had out of Bangkok.

The food was ok, but underwhelming considering the price. 40eur for a pad thai, singha beer, and mango sticky rice. Staff was friendly. The restaurant felt too crowded and a bit chaotic. It's not a bad place by any means, yet I don't see myself returning.

This is the best Thai food I’ve had outside of Thailand - and I live in South East Asia. First - the staff is lovely and helpful. Food comes out quickly, everyone is friendly and cheerful. Second - the food is so lovely. Genuine Thai flavors and ingredients, this is not watered down for the Dutch. The meat is fresh and the sauces and light and clean, not fried and greasy. Finally - the portion of rice is true Thai hospitality. Family size sharing bowls, it was fluffy, never sticky, and we never hit the bottom of the bowl. Go here immediately.

One of the most authentic places I had dinner in Amsterdam. First of all, this place is very central. Staff is super friendly and explaining everything in detail. Menu-wise they have an extensive menu with a lot of stuff. You can give their soup a chance since it is somewhat hot an spicy. Meat based Thai food is fantastic. Overall such a good experience.

Apparently this is a go to spot in Amsterdam for Thai food. I’m happy I finally found it because I will be back. This is one of the best thai spot I’ve ever tried and it feels like you are literally in Thailand!! Everything was super flavourful and I really appreciated the way they lay down all the plates in an elevated surface - very convenient to share. The staff members were very kind and attentive. I highly recommend and I will be back to try more.

A piece of Thailand in the Netherlands, it's so goed that it just take you back there. Staff is really nice. Remember to make a reservation before showing up (we show up without one but still got a place).

A charming restaurant with delicious, well-seasoned dishes. There were eight of us and we sat together at a long table upstairs. The staff was friendly and explained the menu clearly.

Such a cool place to visit and eat. Great service from the staff who squeezed us into a busy time and the food was to die for. Sadly, I left my baseball cat behind, which was the only bummer for the night. Highly recommend it otherwise.

Food was fine but the portion is so small, for the same price (20 euros) I could get a large bowl at some other Thai restaurants… The cashier also overcharged 0.5 euros which I don’t understand, because I was splitting the bill with my friend and how does 70.5 divide into 30.5+30.5🤷‍♀️ I know 0.5 euros is probably nothing but it just makes me uncomfortable

A lovely restaurant with delicious and flavorful food. There were 14 of us and we were seated upstairs at one long table. The staff explained the food and were very friendly.

We went for dinner and were treated wonderfully from the start. They were attentive to detail. The food was delicious, the service was excellent, and the atmosphere was great. Definitely a must-try in Amsterdam.

Thai food needs reservations and is delicious

Thai restaurant located in the Waterlooplein area of ​​Amsterdam, very close to the National Opera and Ballet. The restaurant offers a wide variety of Thai dishes. I ordered Pad Thai Kai (chicken Pad Thai) and a small Kao Pad Gai for dinner. The Pad Thai was delicious and the portion was very generous (you can see it in the photos). The rice was good but lacked salt. The portion was also huge. I ordered the small one and had more than half left over. The staff was very attentive at all times. Despite not having a reservation, they found a space for me and served me fairly quickly. Without a doubt, a highly recommended Thai restaurant in Amsterdam.

Update: I have tried some other Thai Restaurant with the soup Tom Kha Gai, I have to admit that this soup taste better sweet, therefore I score it now lower. It’s just my taste, for your reference. ——- Original post: We were recommended by a Thai friend as he said this is really authentic. After walking in, this is immediately a restaurant feeling, rather than steer food or fast food Asian restaurant. The employees are really kind and responsive, when I tried to order the dessert in the beginning he stopped me and asked me to wait until if I would be full after the starter and main course, really nice from him. We ordered 2 starters, Tom Kha Kai (Coconut Chicken Soup) and Prawn Sate. My focus is on Tom Kha Kai, I tried first time in Austria Innsbruck, and fell in love with it immediately, it was very coco taste and a bit sweet. However, this time, the taste is a bit different, here, you taste a more source side from lemon, but overall, it is also good as I have a wide spectrum for food. Besides, I only have 2 time experience and cannot judge. Main dish were: steamed fish with lemon, and fried beef with red pepper and garlic. Include an extra side dish of stir fried vegetables. Fish was sour sweet taste, and beef was really tender. I have only one recommendation is if the fish filet could be tighter, now for me is a bit too soft. But again, this is not a complain, it is great. We also ordered an extra side dish of fried mix vegetables, also very nice and fresh. For what we order, the amount of the food for 2 person would be appropriate, not too much and not too less. So if you are a big eater, probably you need more. But norms would be enough. Totally cost we paid 91.5 euros. I will come back definitely.
