By far one of the most authentic Thai restaurants I have experienced in Europe! The food was delicious! And the staff is absolutely amazing, warm and friendly as you’d imagine. The recommendations were on point, they have a variety of vegetarian options as well to choose from. Service was quick. It gets busy, please make reservations.. Recommendations- Prawn in pepper and chilli oil, mushroom soup, green Thai curry with rice, pad Thai noodles and dessert wine to end it with. The chef was kind enough to send us some chilli oil along with the food.

This is a popular Thai restaurant near the National Opera. Although it is a two-story building, it is small and has a homely atmosphere. The service staff were full of hospitality and made me feel very welcome, and I was able to spend a warm time there. The food was very delicious and very reasonably priced for Amsterdam, where eating out is expensive.

I love Thai cuisine, and I try Thai restaurants wherever I go. Krua Thai is an excellent one. The food is delicious. The staff is welcoming and speaks fluent Dutch and English, which is helpful for guests who need a bit of introduction to Thai dishes. The quality-to-price ratio is perfect. During my last stay in Amsterdam, I dined at Krua Thai twice, and I am sure I will return the next time I am in town.

I was very well received, even without a reservation they managed to get me a table for dinner. I ordered a Pad Thai which was delicious.

The food is soso, but what is worst is their service as always, I witnessed something extremely unprofessional today. The staff were aggressively questioning a guest at the next table, repeatedly asking why they were sitting there—even though it was clear the person had limited mobility. They showed zero empathy and were downright rude. They were also impatient and unfriendly toward us. I would definitely not recommend this place to any tourists!

We had a deeply disappointing experience while dining on the first floor of this restaurant, all because of one middle-aged man in a white chef’s coat with glasses hanging from his chest. What was supposed to be a lovely dinner turned into an upsetting and uncomfortable evening because of his behavior. This man made it painfully obvious that he harbors racist attitudes. Throughout our meal, we watched him greet and warmly interact with every white customer—checking in with them, carefully explaining dishes, even feeding food to them at the table. In stark contrast, he completely ignored our table from start to finish. We had a reservation for three, and two of us arrived first and placed our order while our third friend was still on the way. Not only did he refuse to engage with us at all, but the only time he did approach was to suddenly confront us in a rude, accusatory tone, demanding: “Are you sure your friend is coming? Are you sure? This is a table for four—are you certain someone else is coming?” The most frustrating part? This man is Asian himself, running an Asian restaurant, yet openly and shamelessly discriminates against fellow Asians. It’s outrageous and infuriating. I strongly urge all Asians to steer clear of this place. It’s run by someone who has internalized racism to the point of actively disrespecting his own community. This was one of the most unpleasant dining experiences we’ve ever had. BTW, we ordered more food than anyone else we saw in the entire restaurant.🙃

Wonderful food!! Everything! Everything we had was tasty! The waiters made a strong impression as well, giving you a feeling of eating at home (people here might not be used to the waiter asking you finish your plate 😂） But it gives me a “home” feeling. Love it!

Amazing Thai food! Loved every dish we tried. The beef salad was super tasty, and the fried chicken was crispy and flavorful. Tom Yum soup was decent, just not the best. Service was excellent—friendly and quick. Definitely recommend!

My partner and I visited Amsterdam 5 years ago and visited Krua Thai twice. Back then we both said it was the best Thai food we'd ever tasted. Fast forward 5 years and we came back to Amsterdam and were very happy this place was still there! Once again, the food was incredible. Can't recommend enough. Great service, great food. You will not be disappointed.

This was honestly the best Thai food I've ever had. The restaurant was packed but managed to find a table for us. Literally everything on the menu we ordered was delicious, so anything you order is likely going to be delicious. The owner came to check in on us and even showed us how he makes the little carrot butterflies. An artist!

What a great little restaurant! The food was fantastic, and so was the service. We were received and advised very warmly. Even though we were with a group, all our food was served quickly so that we could eat in peace and get to the ballet on time. I would love to come back here again!

Excellent Thai Food in Amsterdam. Fresh, delicious and flavors of thai chilli, lemon grass, coconut milk etc made for the best dinner. They assisted the spice levels up to cater to our tastebuds and also recommended the most unique and delectable palm leaf starter. All dishes were bursting with flavors and servers were very friendly. The place did feel a little cramped with everyone sitting close to each other but otherwise an overall great experience.

Also met the owner who told us a bit about his travels and the restaurant.. the waiter was amazing, telling us about each food and also giving recommendations.. made ordering so so much easier especially as a big group. "I'd heard great things about this restaurant, and overall, it lived up to expectations. Most of the dishes were decent, with the mango sticky rice being a standout. The rice and other dishes were also good, but the pad thai was a bit disappointing."

We were recommended by a Thai friend as he said this is really authentic. After walking in, this is immediately a restaurant feeling, rather than steer food or fast food Asian restaurant. The employees are really kind and responsive, when I tried to order the dessert in the beginning he stopped me and asked me to wait until if I would be full after the starter and main course, really nice from him. We ordered 2 starters, Tom Kha Kai (Coconut Chicken Soup) and Prawn Sate. My focus is on Tom Kha Kai, I tried first time in Austria Innsbruck, and fell in love with it immediately, it was very coco taste and a bit sweet. However, this time, the taste is a bit different, here, you taste a more source side from lemon, but overall, it is also good as I have a wide spectrum for food. Besides, I only have 2 time experience and cannot judge. Main dish were: steamed fish with lemon, and fried beef with red pepper and garlic. Include an extra side dish of stir fried vegetables. Fish was sour sweet taste, and beef was really tender. I have only one recommendation is if the fish filet could be tighter, now for me is a bit too soft. But again, this is not a complain, it is great. We also ordered an extra side dish of fried mix vegetables, also very nice and fresh. For what we order, the amount of the food for 2 person would be appropriate, not too much and not too less. So if you are a big eater, probably you need more. But norms would be enough. Totally cost we paid 91.5 euros. I will come back definitely.

Poor experience, we wanted to start with a tea first, and 7 different members of staff kept pushing us to order fast. Then even with the menu in hand there was a very rude staff member telling us to order or leave. The food was ok, but during dinner they kept interrupting to push for more drinks. I have no idea how this place got rated 4.7 out of 5...

A solid 4 stars. If you want an authentic Thai meal, here's your spot. Great service and friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and authentic of course, Thai food, better than most Thai restaurants in Amsterdam that cater to the Dutch palette rather than sticking to authentic Thai flavours. We ordered the Pad Thai chicken, tom yum soup with fish, beef, garlic and beans and Thai cream l green curry. The Pad Thai was a perfect balance of flavours with what tasted like tamarind and lime to pull the whole dish together. A generous serving with a nice almost silky noodle texture (not like the really dry noodles ones you can get at other places). Beef with garlic and beans and Thai mint really brought home the Thai flavours and the TenderNed of the beef was on point with a touch of spice that have just enough heat. The green chicken curry was delightful and had the small round green eggplants that bring a different texture to the curry. We also ordered the Tom Yum soup with fish which was nice but was upstaged by the other 3 dishes. What i adored was the heated stands that kept the food warm (especially bc it was minus 4 degrees outside). All in all - i highly recommend this place - 4 out of 5 stars and worth what your pay, i would definitely be coming back here.

Divine food!!! The yellow curry shrimp and the fish fillet were perfect! The service was amazing, the staff made the experience so memorable and pleasant for us, they found a way to accommodate us, given our different dietary preferences (some friends were vegan, some pescatarian) and showed so much care! The place can get a bit crowded and quite loud but it's still a spot where you can have such a nice time with your friends/loved ones.

Amazing Thai food cooked by an authentic Thai chef - a cut above the usual fare. The chef engaged with us delightfully, loves his national dishes, sources the freshest of Thai and local ingredients, so chose the dishes for us having consulted our preferences and palates' degree of spice tolerance. We discovered this restaurant on TikTok and decided to give it a try. We called in advance and were able to secure a table on short notice. However, we were given the worst table in the restaurant, which wasn’t a big issue since it was a spontaneous visit. The service started off very friendly, though it was clear the staff was also focused on upselling. For starters, we ordered fried spring rolls and fish cakes. For the main courses, we tried Pad Thai and red curry with duck. To be honest, for a restaurant that seemed to be aiming for a more elevated dining experience, we had higher expectations. Unfortunately, the flavors of the dishes were quite weak and underwhelming. For anyone expecting something special, we’d recommend looking elsewhere. We came across this restaurant by chance. When we stood in front of the door, several passers-by said, if there is a seat available, you should really eat here. Very happy that we did this, good service, delicious food and we were allowed to take a seat even though we had not made a reservation. The vegetarian pepper leaf is highly recommended.

Seems simple from the outside but WOW what delicious food! Truly yummy and authentic Thai food, be careful if you say spicy you will get it! Curries were very flavorful and prawns were gigantic. And fried banana was gorgeous. Absolutely reserve a table or you might be out of luck. Fairly priced, if not a true bargain for the quality you get! I’d go out of my way for this!! kop khun ka!

I had the vegetarian Pad Thai. It was tasty, but I've had better ones and it was quite expensive at €17. But the service was very courteous and the restaurant was relatively cozy.

Very very good ethnic food and beautiful to look at, as well as to eat. The only flaw is that the place is a bit small and it's very crowded inside. However, it deserves all five stars

Very nice restaurant with a wide selection of food to order from. Careful as the food tends to be spicy, even the mild one we ordered wasn't very mild, but tasty nonetheless. The beef was tender and welll cooked, all the dishes we ordered tasted good. The spring rolls and the chicken satay were good appetizers. Service was very friendly once you pass the cashier ;)

To continue in my search to find the best thai restaurant in the Netherlands, I stumbled upon Krua Thai. The place got pretty high ratings, but as I know from earlier experiences, that says nothing. The restaurant itself is decorated in a fairly standard way, and the interior does not really give a warm feeling. Staff was friendly, but also really noisy, because they were talking a lot to each other. The Tom Kha Kai soup was okay but lacked in taste, and the chicken tasted pretty bad. The most surprised I was by the Kaeng Phed Ped (duck in red curry). The duck was really fatty, and the dish included normal eggplant and Italian basil instead of Thai eggplant and basil. When I said this to the waiter, he responded with: it's very difficult to find these ingredients in Amsterdam! Of course, I responded with: No, it isn't difficult. You can buy them in many places in Amsterdam, like Amazing Oriental and Don Yong, to name a few. Really weird to lie about this, and a cheap way to save money on quality ingredients. What's also very weird, I had to pay for the rice besides my main course. First time in all the Thai restaurants I visited that I had to pay for rice. The red wine (Shiraz) was nice. All together, it was a disappointing experience. Another tourist trap in the city center of Amsterdam. If you're searching for a good thai restaurant, I would recommend Sukothai in Amsterdam (yeah, it's pricy, but by far the best thai restaurant in Amsterdam) or Silom thai (modern, but great). Or even better, go to The Hague, Rotterdam, or Deventer. These cities got some amazing thai restaurants.

Exceptional Thai Food. Absolutely gorgeous. Had fish red curry and a massuman between myself and my daughter. We were both blown away by the tender meat and fish and wonderful sauces. Highlight was also the Meang Kham tasty morsel wrapped in pepper leaf. Glorious flavoursome explosion. A delight!

On the advice of my mother's friend, we went for dinner early on a Sunday evening. Delicious food, lovely boy shopping us service. Wide range for a good price. The interior is quite full or perhaps a bit cramped, but I have no problem with that. 5/5 stars Recommended for those who like Thai

En nuestra primera noche en Amsterdam, mientras caminábamos por la zona de Dam Plaza, optamos colectivamente por la comida tailandesa para la cena. Mi hija localizó Krua Thai y nos guió allí. No estaba lejos y el paseo por algunos canales era pintoresco. Llegamos alrededor de las 6 p.m. (Creo) y preguntaron si habíamos hecho reservas. No lo habíamos hecho, así que estábamos sentados arriba. Había una escalera estrecha hasta su segundo nivel. Tenían unas 9 mesas allí. Los servidores trajeron menús y tomaron nuestros pedidos de bebidas (agua tranquila). Consideramos dividir 2 pedidos entre los 3 de nosotros dado que estábamos de viaje, pero el servidor indicó que el restaurante exigió a todos obtener su propia entrada. Tenemos un curry, un Pad Thia y un arroz frito vegetal. Esto en realidad terminó siendo aproximadamente correcto dado el tamaño de las porciones. A todos les gustaba su comida. Necesitábamos un segundo agua tranquila para la mesa. Hemos observado que otra mesa tiene una jarra de agua, así que tal vez se puede pedir agua del grifo versus quietud (? ). Vale la pena visitar este lugar si estás en Amsterdam.
