Nice and cozy restaurant with friendly staff. The food is reasonably priced and quite tasty. The house wine, however, isn't that good.

Great atmosphere, delicious food (the menu changes every few weeks), and above all, friendly staff. We've been coming here for many years and will continue to do so for a while.

Went to the new branch for the first time now. It was awful; the food was cold and took too long to arrive. It wasn't because it was busy, as there weren't many people there. I understand why... a waste of money.

The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious and warm. It arrived quickly after we ordered. The restaurant did feel like a hall, though. I think the large floor could be broken up by adding some screens, like pantry shelves. It might give that intimate setting just what it needs. We'll definitely be back.

Edit: Went again yesterday and it was really disappointing. The food came very slowly, it seemed like other people got it first. Got the wrong things. Cold food. I think something has changed, and it's not for the better. Unfortunately. I come here regularly with my husband. We always get a friendly welcome. The food is really good and for the price, I really can't complain. I think the price/quality is reasonable. I always enjoy coming here! Kudos to the girls/boys who bring the food and clear the table in between! I'll be back soon 😊

We've been eating here with our daughters for years, because they eat the most here, in terms of various things. But it's constantly going downhill. Chicken pieces that quickly ran out, squid rings that were very dry, the patat bravas that used to be very good... sometimes a very long wait for the order... no, we're not coming here anymore.

Cozy restaurant with easy reservations via the website. Ordering is easy by phone by scanning the QR code on the table. Food can sometimes be served in a long wait. It's also a shame that drinks and desserts are not included, hence the 4 stars! Update (October 2025): Unfortunately, La Cubatita Alphen has deteriorated significantly since the new manager took over. Everything takes a very long time these days: you sometimes sit for 10–15 minutes without being helped and have to ask to activate the table yourself before you can order by phone. We received the wrong dishes (chorizo ​​croquettes instead of cheese croquettes), and some dishes didn't arrive as ordered—burgers and chicken skewers without sauce arrived with sauce. Much of the food was also lukewarm or tough. This used to be the best branch, but unfortunately, it's no longer. The order is also incorrect: you order a sandwich with a drink, but the sandwich arrives only after the food has been served. It's a shame, because that used to be a good thing. And finally, we received a broken bread basket—not that I care, but it does look a bit odd (see photo 😅). At the end, we were politely asked if everything was to our liking. We honestly stated that it wasn't and received an apology, but that felt inadequate. Especially since the manager himself knew that several things had gone wrong at our table. The service is doing its best, but it seems to be mainly due to the management. Tip: make it possible to uncheck ingredients for each dish via the ordering system. Hopefully, things will return to normal soon, but we're skipping this branch for now.

Had a wonderful dinner out for my birthday. The food was excellent, although when it got busier, the quality dropped a bit, but it was still incredibly tasty! A nice drink made it even better. The service was very friendly, attentive, and definitely hard-working—hats off! A successful evening, and I've never been disappointed at this restaurant.

I filed a complaint 12 months ago and sent repeated reminders, promising a solution. However, they stopped responding after that. It's a real shame this location was so disappointing.

The food was excellent. A wide selection and delicious. The service was friendly and professional. It's just a shame that the serving process isn't done per table, but per dish. Some people are already eating, while others haven't received anything yet.

The quality has deteriorated since my last review. The food is fine, but they don't collect anything... the photos also show other tables of people who have long since left and are still completely full. A couple was sitting next to us and they had simply put their plates on another table. The first time I spoke to one of the younger women, she walked away without saying a word. The second time, she politely cleared our table. The older women serving are much more sociable and came to our table with a smile and a bit of humor.

The food was sufficient/good quality, though it was a shame it sometimes took a little longer for both of us to get our dishes. The hamburgers were barely cooked through. The service was reasonable, but we had to wait quite a while for our second drink. The staff were friendly and helpful, though. The atmosphere was a bit lacking due to the restaurant being so crowded, which meant there was a constant flow of activity, which created a rather unsettling feeling.

We can always enjoy good food here and the service is friendly.

We enjoyed our meal, but it often took a very long time for our food to arrive. Furthermore, they only offered us drinks when we asked (which wasn't possible via the tablet because of the promotion) or cleared the table somewhat.

I was actually a bit done with La Cubanita, but this location was excellent. The decor is very cozy inside, and you're not sitting on your neighbor's lap. The tables are nice and clean, no sticking or smuggling. Excellent service. Very sweet women. The food is also excellent.

My second time eating here, and unfortunately, I was disappointed again. The first time (a while ago) wasn't up to par, but I decided to give it another try because I didn't want to drive any further. The calamari was completely different (and worse) than at other locations. Many dishes were also cold, and we had to wait a very long time after each order. It almost felt like it was intentional to get you to order less within your reservation time. Compared to La Cubanita in Leiden or Woerden, it's a world of difference — the food is much tastier and the service much faster. It's not that the service here is bad, but the quality and taste are simply incomparable. I see many other reviews have the same complaints, but unfortunately, it doesn't seem to be taken seriously. It's a shame, because when you dine out, you just want a good experience. I won't be going back to Alphen for a third time; if I'm going to spend money, I'd rather get it right the first time!

La Cubanita where we always go was so full to this. The staff was very friendly and that was the only positive one. We had introduced 4 rounds in an hour, but 1 person of our company just got part of her 2nd round. Others just nothing and others already had their third round. And others just missed sharing of their rounds. Most tapas were cold or lukewarm. Butter not melted well with the steak skewers etc. The restaurant was not even for a quarter full and the kitchen already had trouble? It all took a long time. Sometimes you got 4 signs at the same time and sometimes quietly 15 minutes. After 4 rounds we had had it with it waiting and not really very good food. Anyway, the new card is a big teleurstoning.

Staff was very friendly at the table. But the food was bad. Much was cold. Not baked properly and/or looked strange. Desserts were very watery. And you also had to wait a very long time for something to come to the table. 1 person at the table also had a stomach ache. Actually everything was bad. Really a waste of money. We often go to lacubanita and everything is fine. So we don't just complain. After a day at avifauna once to Alphen, we should not have done that. Other people in the restaurant you could also clearly hear complaining about this.

Ordering food per 2 dishes takes too long, was lukewarm or cold. Clearing the table took so long that you had no room for the dishes after that. Atmosphere is good but I think too little service. Sometimes they forgot a dish or it was wrong. All in all I will not eat there again.

Good service, good food, nice price

Food was very tasty but we had to wait for all rounds very long (half an hour per round). Some dishes came after an hour... so we were having dessert and we still got fish from two rounds before.

Although I was very satisfied last time, that is not the case now. The food took a long time to arrive, several items were not served at all. Food was cold and there was a layer on the sauce that clearly showed that it had been there for a long time. Drinking was not included, even when seeing three empty glasses. Indicated at checkout that it is not very hygienic if food is served from trays containing someone else's dirty dishes. It was said that this is not possible otherwise, because the service would not be fast enough. I kind of understand this, because it was already going very slowly. All in all it was a pleasant experience, but not thanks to the staff.

You have the all-in package with food, drinks and desserts for 1 price. This is more expensive than the package without drinks included. Please note, no one will ask you if you want something to drink. So if you want to benefit from unlimited drinks, you will have to put in a lot of effort yourself. In addition, your table remains half full, barricaded with dirty glasses and plates all evening. As well as we heard ministry gossiping about us. We indicated at checkout that we were not satisfied and subsequently received no further compensation or anything like that.

We were here with the whole team and went all-in on the tapas adventure — unlimited choice of dishes, 2 per round, and believe me: our workforce has used that system to its limits. The service was friendly and attentive, and even though a clearly green staff member accidentally left a few drinks on the floor (cheers for the floor), the atmosphere remained great. Everything was resolved quickly and neatly, and we felt welcome all evening. The cocktails? Delicious. The wine? More than fine. The dishes? So delicious that some had to turn down dessert due to a serious case of "I really shouldn't have had that last cheese croquette but it was too good" syndrome. Personal recommendations: the corn (grilled, juicy, slightly addictive) and the cheese croquettes (small, rich, cheesy bliss). But actually everything is good — from fish to vegetarian, you won't be short of anything here. Cubanita is not a place for a quiet evening with a book, but for an evening full of laughter, tasting, sharing and ordering another cocktail because you can. We'll be back. With extra belly space.

Nice restaurant and cozy atmosphere with a now well-known formula of ordering 2 dishes per round at an affordable price. The service can/may put on a happier face when they come to the table to serve or clear away. But maybe there was something going on. The fried food was a bit greasy and some snacks were out of stock. All in all we had a nice evening and our stomachs were well filled.

What a ball, the tortillas still had to be brought from Mexico. The grapes for the wine still had to be picked. The waitress said woohoo while we were just chatting. And the taste wasn't exactly what you would call lucky. Nice long straws ;)

We came in very hungry and got a nice sandwich with aioli, but then it started, the first dish we got was something we had not ordered and was mediocre, then the bruschetta came, it tasted like rusk with soft, soggy tomatoes, the spicy steaks were way too overcooked and only tasted like sambal, the spa ribs came from the microwave and the prawns were mediocre, then…. Quesadilla was like a soggy oil ball with dirty tuna, the spare ribs tasted like a shoe sole and the mushrooms like the shoe sole's brother, the salmon was tougher than the steak and dirtier than the champions, then came the watermelon salad, you would think it was nice and fresh but nothing could be further from the truth, you wouldn't believe it but it tasted like... paprika, yes you should be right, paprika, no watermelon taste to be seen, the cocktails were alcohol empty and the wine tasted like cork. Furthermore, we had a great evening because of the laughter attack you get from how bad this restaurant is!

We zijn met de hele familie bij Cubanita geweest. Met een grote groep van 22 pers. De lange tafel was ingedeeld in groepjes zodat iedereen apart kon bestellen. Was top geregeld en het eten was ook heerlijk met nieuwe gerechtjes op de kaart.

Leuke atmosfeer en zeer vriendelijke bediening. Prijzen redelijk. Het eten kun je niet echt / Spaans / Cubaans oid noemen. Gerechtjes vlak en flauw van smaak. Matig gekruid en veelal Hollandse smaken. De bestel app is helemaal drama. We hadden een aantal gerechten besteld( zei de app) maar na 45 minuten niets ontvangen. App gaf aan dat we nog 4 gerechtjes extra mochten bestellen. Serveerster gevraagd die beaamde dat besteld was. Nog 10 min later nog niets. Weer gevraagd en bleek dat we 5 ipv 4 gerechten besteld hadden waardoor de app blokkeert zonder uitleg maar wel weergeeft dat we nog 4 konden bestellen. Uiteindelijk met kaartje besteld en na 1 uur een z1e hapje. Liever niet meer la cubanita

I feel like the quality of the food at La Cubanita is declining. Five out of six people had stomach problems the next day. Service and atmosphere were excellent.

We had to wait 40 minutes for our dessert.

The food was very disappointing. Everything either comes from the deep fryer or the microwave or is reserved cold/still frozen. It's a shame that this is called a restaurant. If you want to eat out, I would recommend somewhere where you get a good hot meal that is not prepared by a microwave chef or deep fryer. The service was excellent, but very rushed and not very customer friendly.

Hier komen wij niet meer !!! Het was stervens koudin het,we hebben kleedjes om ons heen geslagen, want tja met je jas aan eten doe ook niet. Blijkbaar was het in de keuken ook koud, want het eten werd lauw opgediend, en duurde lang, ondanks dat het niet druk was, we kregen dan ook het idee dat de kok niet aanwezig was en alles Au bain-marie werd opgediend, spareribs waren niet gegrild, biefstuk was taai,zalm was gortdroog, rauwe ham was taai , in ieder geval het was het geld niet waard

Delicious food! Nice staff and a pleasant atmosphere. It was really busy and I had a question about a dish. This was immediately picked up and afterwards, when paying, they asked whether everything had gone well with the dish, then you really see your customers if you ask this in a crowded restaurant. This has recently become my new favorite restaurant.

Had dinner with a group of 10 on Boxing Day. Not friendly in advance, I had called that we would come with 10 instead of 9, but that was actually a problem. It was said that they would have to move everything around, but when we arrived a chair had been placed on the end side, so why react in such a customer-unfriendly manner. The day after the dinner, 5 out of 10 people became very ill. Lots of vomiting, diarrhea and fever. Very coincidental, it is almost inevitable that this came from the food Never again La Cubanita Alphen aan den Rijn for us.

Delicious and above all a pleasant meal. Always a different taste, always a surprise. Some dishes were well thought out and cleverly prepared for such large quantities, others seemed reheated. Still, very nice for this price!! Time flew by searching, ordering and exchanging each other. We ended up being more full than expected. As a result, we ended up skipping dessert.

What bad service yesterday. I will definitely never come here again! After 45 minutes I received my first dish (carpaccio). Indicated to the waitress that if we are only allowed to sit there for 2 hours and 15 minutes and it continues like this, we will have barely eaten anything at the end. She promised to get better. After another 15 minutes my friend got his first dish and it was still cold. Indicated that if it continues like this, I will not pay. Improvement was promised again. After 2 hours, my friend and I had both only received 3 dishes and the dishes that should have been warm were still cold. And they charge 34 euros for that!! I walked to the bar and said that I think it's really absurd and that I'm leaving without paying. The lady behind the bar apologized and said she understood. We only had to pay for the drinks. Thanks for ruining our evening!

We had a delicious meal!!! It remains a mess with ordering tapas in rounds. This means you are not eating at the same time as your table companions. And we did not receive several tapas that were ordered. Maybe a good plan to take 2.50 off the bill for each tapas not received. If you order a tapas but do not eat it, you as a guest also have to pay 2.50 for it.

Where should we start? Hoofddorp branch, read and learn well. We arrived half an hour earlier, also due to... the bad weather forecasts. The sky looked black. We were received very warmly with a big smile. Immediately have something to drink and a sandwich. The tapas were delicious and served quickly. What a cozy atmosphere inside, no crowded cattle and very quiet, despite full occupancy. The friendly atmosphere among the ladies was also palpable at the table. It was a nice and pleasant evening. We went there with heavy hearts because of our Hoofddorp experience... They were left with a hefty gift voucher lol. Girls! thank you and certainly see you in Alphen.

When you eat at La Cubanita it is always a surprise how the quality is... Never been here before, but oh how delicious! Old-fashioned good food as it should be at La Cubanita. Friendly staff, think along with the children and you don't have to wait long for your food. Ideal with children. Definitely worth repeating!

Food tasted good but it seemed a bit plain...it is what it is, but no nicely presented plates. Some orders came through late or not at all, but otherwise not disturbing because enough could be ordered and there was no time limit, which is normally the case. This was only reported to us late and meant that we could continue to eat in a more relaxed manner. With a group of 6 everyone was satisfied. I did miss the old design, appearance and atmosphere that I have experienced at other locations. Looks cozy and tasteful but no longer special...I would give it 7.5. Fine

Service was poor and everything took a very long time. We never had some things from round 2 even though we had mentioned them several times. Received the wrong things than ordered, lukewarm and still half raw and fruit not ripe. 2 sick people and never had such a bad meal. Noordwijk and Zoetermeer were just good.

There are delicious dishes on the menu, the staff is friendly and you get your dishes quickly even though it was completely booked. I just think it's a shame that you are so 'together'. This makes it difficult for you to understand each other and your neighbors watch how you eat.

In mijn recente bezoek aan La Cubanita in Alphen aan den Rijn was ik helaas niet erg onder de indruk. Het eten ontbrak in sommige porties aan smaak. Door gebruik van/ of gebrek aan verse ingrediënten miste dit de authentieke smaak die je bij tapas verwacht. Het was uitermate teleurstellend om te zien dat er niet meer nadruk werd gelegd op verse ingrediënten en ambachtelijke bereiding. Dit was met name bij de gehaktballen in tomaten saus (vlees niet goed/chemisch, biefstuk was taai, kipwrap te doorbakken). De service was vrij traag. Al met al was het geen positieve ervaring en ik zou niet snel iemand aanraden daar te gaan eten.

Last Friday evening we decided last minute to have dinner here, which was no problem. Overall a nice meal. Many different dishes that you can order via the app. You can also order drinks via the app. Everything was well explained and the app did the job well. The small dishes did not arrive at the table at the same time, but that was also stated in advance. Sufficient parking which was free after 9pm.
