La Cubanita Alkmaar in Centrum

Upon arrival, we were shown to our table. Once we were seated, it was either not cleaned properly or not at all, but our arms were stuck to the table. We were a group of seven. The dishes weren't served, but simply placed on the table, and we had to divide our orders ourselves. They had never heard of taking dirty dishes away. When we went to pay after more than two hours, the glasses and plates from the first round were still on the table. The food itself was also mediocre. Unfortunately, we won't be back. I think part of it is due to a staff shortage.

The food was decent, though some things were a bit overcooked. It was very warm upstairs, even though the temperature outside was around 26 degrees Celsius. We waited a long time for the next round of drinks, and the staff didn't exactly exude a friendly atmosphere, and the music was very loud. Otherwise, a great evening.

I have been coming here for years, good place to celebrate things or just have fun with family. You have a lot of choice of dishes, there is certainly something for everyone. The service is very good, I still wonder how the servers do that every time with the plates. The atmosphere is very good and there is good Cuban/Spanish music.

great location right on the water, delicious food

After an hour and a half I finally had my 2nd drink. Drinks were included in the price for us, but we had to wait way too long for them. There was only one girl who brought the drinks around. Upstairs is very warm.

With 9 people plus a child we had something to celebrate. Together we sat at the big round table and we enjoyed each other and the delicious food!

One of the best La Cubanita's. Delicious food, friendly staff. Located in a very cozy building, in the heart of Alkmaar.

We arrived earlier in the evening and you noticed the crowds. We could still hear each other well. I have been there before when it was so busy that you could no longer hear your fellow table companions. As the evening progressed, the portions became smaller and colder than at the beginning. I suspect because of crowds. Staff was great and worked hard.

Cozy La Cubanita, not too big, not too small, tables are a reasonable distance apart and nice Cuban music. Employees are very polite and nice, so worth a tip from us. We were there on May 4 and at 8 o'clock we observed a 2-minute silence in honor of Remembrance Day. Food tasty, hot and not too long a wait. Tapas are unlimited, but you cannot order more than one dessert (now included in the price).

The table arrangement is nice. You are not close to other people. The service is good and the kitchen is very fast.

Had a nice meal at this location, you can sit comfortably here, the staff could look around a bit more.

Delicious food, portions slightly smaller than in Zaandam, but you can always order more. Service very friendly but a bit on the slow side (it was not very busy).

With a large group it becomes a bit of a mess, when serving it is not really clear what it is and everything is placed on one side of the table. The empty plates and bowls remained on the table and were not cleared. But the food was generally good.

Cool concept Order via mobile phone, you can have 2 dishes every 10 minutes. We did 3 rounds with 30 minutes in between each. Cozy atmosphere. Cuban music. Friendly service.

Delicious food and fantastic service! My only comment about the menu would be to serve the meatballs not in tomato sauce but in chili sauce. I personally find the tomato sauce a bit overpowering. Furthermore, I think it is a shame that there is no virgin cocktail offer, while there are alcoholic cocktails on offer in November. Small point of attention: During my toilet visit I discovered that the handle of the toilet brush in the men's toilet had broken off. This toilet brush therefore needs to be replaced. I have now been to several La Cubanita branches and the food is always fantastic. My compliments to the chef and the service!

I would never eat here again. The place was not even 1 quarter full and yet it takes more than an hour before you get a dish from the 1st round. The food itself is not special either. It's better to go to Heinde, where drinks are included in the price, but not here.

Cozy place and delicious sangria

I have been coming to la cubanita for many years. Nice staff and friendly and quick help. The menu has changed and for me as a vegetarian the choice is unfortunately really poor now. Previously, there was always something tasty with different types of cheese and grilled peppers. Now the menu consisted of fried things and mushrooms (I just don't like that.) Unfortunately I left hungry and I won't go here anymore.

Had dinner there this week, everything was very tasty and for a special price (all in).

We (2) went to eat at La Cubanita on a Sunday in Alkmaar. The advantage of La Cubanita is the wide choice of tapas, something for everyone. Because we didn't know Alkmaar very well, we opted for a safe option. We opted for the All In package where unlimited food and drinks* could be consumed. That costs €35 per person. If you take 2/3 drinks and a dessert, this is the cheaper choice. As a table you have to go all-in and not all drinks are included. The food was above average, compliments to the kitchen. We know other locations that score less well in this area. The staff were friendly and the food was served fairly quickly. Thank you and see you next time!

Food was beyond expectations. I have been to various locations before but it was really good, on time, service was friendly and provided extra information about the dishes that could take a little longer. That gives the feeling that you are seen. Very nice tent, nice atmosphere and highly recommended for the money. Top. Will definitely come back. (we were upstairs with 4 people, great)

Good and varied food. One point to note is that there is sometimes a lot of time between orders. Per ordering round there was sometimes 20 minutes between the first and last dish or a dish was not delivered.

Wat een vreselijk concept. De hele avond moet je voor elk hapje en drankje met de mobiele telefoon bestellen. Mobieltjes en dineren gaan niet samen. Gammele tafels, cocktails waar geen spoortje alcohol in te proeven is en het eten werd door pubers opgewarmd. Salades komen uit grote bakken van een groothandel en een glaasje water bij je eten mag niet...dan moet je Spa blauw bestellen (terwijl ik uit armoe aan de pure tequila zat). Het personeel kan niets aan het concept doen, maar ik zou daar niet willen werken.

Made a reservation for 13 people by mistake at the wrong location. We thought along, a place could be created and a staff member came over from the other branch. Top!

There was food before drinking. There was one dish missing from someone per round. Food quality is okay, but not really worth the 160 euros. We sat upstairs where it quickly became very hot and very noisy.

Upon arrival, you were kindly shown to your seat. After this it took a long time before we were helped. We arrived a little later and were told that it was very tight with ordering food and closing the kitchen. I ate in a very hurry and had plenty of time afterwards. Ordering food works via the telephone, so there is plenty of telephone at hand during dinner. This is the right place for a cheap evening.

Food reasonable. Sparerib seemed like one of the Lidl ones from the freezer, but also tasty dishes for a fair price. Service was smooth and neat

Absolutely loved the food. service is quick, got my food in 10 minutes or less, sometimes you don't all get your food at the same time but that's fine with me. Atmosphere is very cuban, the windows need a good scrub.

It's a super cool restaurant visually, but it's lacking in service. Food delivery is slow and sometimes the meals are cold. I don't blame the employees, but rather the lack thereof, because there are few who can serve so many customers, especially when it comes to the restaurant: that's a lot of rotation. Overall it's a good restaurant.

Service is fast, food is okay. Sometimes too busy for the kitchen, but often things go well and the atmosphere is nice for a party or dinner with friends. There are rumors that dishes come straight from the refrigerator and that the microwave regularly heats up something. I haven't seen this myself.

Nice unlimited food formula. Ordering via a QR code was a bit of a challenge... The food varied. The meatballs in sauce were not warm. The sauce on many dishes was far too generous. Just a shame. The carpaccio, bruscetta with shrimp, bruscetta with trout can easily be done with less sauce. Lemon pie is delicious!

The food has improved at la cubanita. Really tasty and lots of different choices. Unfortunately, everything was gone halfway through the evening, or at least we could no longer order half the menu. We also always got the wrong thing or we just got nothing. Price-quality is okay, but I would have preferred to receive the dishes that I actually ordered.

I've had better food at other places. It was not impressive in taste. Dishes that were cold were (too) refrigerator cold. This is a place to eat once every 2 years. Until then we've had enough.

Wrong order of delivery, from wrong tables, waiting 45 minutes for a drink, entire table full of empty bowls and plates and 90% of the food was cold. Printer broken they say, well then they often have that because I read in the reviews afterwards that it is more standard than exception. I just feel bad for the staff, all very young and no one to manage them. Managers La Cubanita, SHAME ON YOU. For now, stay away from there.

The food was tasty but we had to wait far too long for food and drinks. Manager was ill... everything went wrong at several tables. That was a shame. Many things were also still gone.

This building is very noisy. I thought quality was a 6. I have really eaten better here once 😔. Not recommended for me personally. This was absolutely not the fault of the staff!

Had to wait over an hour for each round and was served cold food. In addition, she served double dishes and we informed her that we did not order them (because we already received them, and the bowl with the dishes was literally still on the table). After the second time, it was said that there might be extra charges because it is the 4th dish. Then we were blamed for ordering incorrectly while they didn't even look at our order history. I tried to be as understanding as possible and I was as friendly as possible about what was wrong (I felt very sorry for them too). In the end they said the fault was on their side, but unfortunately we were left with a very uncomfortable feeling for the rest of the evening because the situation was handled that way.

Only drank cocktails. Luckily there was room for a few cocktails. Staff thinks along with you. Small location, good staff. We didn't eat there so I can't comment on that.

Super tasty food! My boyfriend has a severe gluten allergy and we always find it exciting to eat out. But upon arrival there was immediately an overview of dishes he could like. Very well organised, really nice and he didn't have any stomach aches, the food was not expensive. Compliments to the kitchen and the service, we had a great evening.

Great restaurant and bar. The staff are friendly and helpful. The cocktail and drink selection is good. The ordering system is efficient and the food comes promptly. Great food choices, fresh and tasty!

Delicious food. The bread was forgotten with the first order, so at one point we had 2 pieces of bread on the table. Tables for 2 people are a bit on the small side if you have all the dishes on the table. Nice appearance and cozy. Food was good and fresh.

A very nice tapas place. You can order via your phone and your food or drink will be on the table in no time. Downside, the quality of the food is not always top notch. The spareribs in particular were dry. But certainly not dirty!

Mwa. Location is great, next to the Platte Stenenbrug. Remains a beautiful building. Chairs need replacing. Rickety and upholstery is coming loose on almost all chairs, which gives a shabby appearance. I arrived at a table for 4 with only 3 chairs: 'if you need a chair you can take it away from the other table'. Not so neat. Staff a bit curt. Sometimes 1 or 2 bowls were brought and it took too long for the other bowls to arrive for us to have a nice meal together. Food standard and prefab. You can get much better elsewhere for less.

It is not a place where you can sit and talk quietly. Too much noise. You can enjoy delicious food there.

This la cubanita is a bit disappointing compared to the one in Haarlem. The cocktails have so much ice that there are only 4 sips in them. The strawberry cocktail had so much syrup in it that my jaw was stiff from the sugar. The carpaccio has a lot of sauce and cheese on it. Less is more... you can hardly taste the meat anymore. Furthermore, excellent food and nice staff.

The cocktails are only in name….with 3/4 of the glass of crushed ice the dishes don’t have much taste and the service is messy It’s ultimately expensive for what it is.

Everything was great. Nice service and good food. Still, a few points for improvement. If possible, serve the dishes to the group more at the same time. And really buy new chairs immediately. Almost all the chairs are broken. It's a bit tight, but you can get in with a wheelchair.

I sat and ate with my friends, unfortunately I can't get used to the reservation system yet! A tablet at the table would be desirable, now we have to see and compare who has the most battery to place the order. Friendly young staff at the table who did their best during a full restaurant! Ate yesterday, the flies are flying around your ears... there are dead flies everywhere...! Big cobwebs and a lot of dust ... just too dirty ... having to take over your plates all evening while we had to order separately with 2 tables, ours always came on the other side, very annoying, you almost had to beg for a drink and it took a very long time even though it was very quiet the boy really did his best, but if there is only 1 good staff and the rest who cannot and do not understand... it was a shame for me the first time and also the last time!! Since last night I have had a severe stomach ache and I will spare you the rest, I think the food was not fresh and not good so I would look for a good cleaner

We had a delicious meal with colleagues, but there was a woman who had been walking around all evening with a grumpy fry-up. We ordered a little too much because the courses suddenly came together quickly. So 6 containers went back to the kitchen. We were spoken to by this lady as if we were a bunch of little children. A really disappointing end to this evening. We wanted to order dessert and coffee, but the way he talked to us made us leave. There were ten of us, we all felt reprimanded. So we will never go here again.

Bad experience, being put on your number in a very unfriendly way by grumpy staff. This lady wondered if I knew what I was doing and that I was being charged for the excess portions ordered. And asked emphatically whether I had understood it. I should have apologized for ordering too much. As if I had the intention of not wanting to pay. I just don't like this way of being addressed. Then Mrs. thought that I should not treat her as a SLAVE Really bizarre, we spent the entire evening handling and passing on bowls. And just paid for what was left. While they themselves had also put out too many portions! Oh and it's funny what they put on the voucher in gift wrapping. Really a top point of the customer is king, but not really. La Cubanita Alkbut never, never ever again.
