La Pizza Centrum in Rotterdam Centrum

A regular for years, but lately the quality has been visibly declining, with the low point being a lasagna in watery béchamel sauce accompanied twice by the comment that “this is the way we serve the lasagna”. That is simply unacceptable! The pizza has also lacked flavor for ages (ailo with tasteless mozzarella) and had a soggy crust. Time for a reset; something really needs to be done!

Food was not satisfactory, we have ordered steak and spaghetti, more salty than nuanced flavours. Maybe should have ordered pizzas.

My cousin took us to this restaurant on our holiday trip. Our family conversation was priceless 😍 It's a place with a nice ambiance. The staff are attentive and friendly. The pizzas were made with fresh and high-quality ingredients. But for me, they were excessively greasy. Overall, I was satisfied. I recommend it.

A good place for a good pizza in a professionally run and clean restaurant. The service is also good. The pizza (Calzone in my case) was good and flavorful, although I would have liked it to be just a little bigger. Dessert: the cake of the season was also very good. It would be nice if a simple green salad (at least without truffle) were on the menu as a side dish. Would you come here again? You certainly could. Would you drive out of your way for it? It’s not that special. In summary: simply good with friendly staff.

We're from Spain. We ate here and the food was delicious and the service was excellent. We were traveling with someone in a wheelchair and they were quick and friendly. Thank you! 100% recommended.

Food was good and the staff was lovely. Some of the dishes were small for the given price and indoors was very loud, but the pizza was delicious.

They serve the best Tiramisu in the town. Veg Pizza can be better but its still decent not sure about other options. Staff is courteous and helps cater to your needs.

Pizza was excellent. Neopolitan style but with a slightly crispier crust. The patio terrace was great. Service was friendly and attentive.

Had a wonderful dinner here! The vitello tonnato was absolutely delicious and paired perfectly with the glass of Verdicchio recommended by the staff. The service was top-notch, very friendly and welcoming. Highly recommend this place

A wonderful restaurant. The thin crust pizzas did not disappoint. Very tasty, from appetizers to pizza to desserts. The service was one of the best I have experienced so far in NL. They know their act. The waiters come at the right time and as part of the service, free glass bottled water is provided which is replaced for free when they observe it empty. The atmosphere is perfect for a date or even a nice dinner out with friends or family. Drinks can be on the high side but not over the top. I highly recommend to try the octopus, it is simply incredible. Definitely will visit again.👍🏾

This is a place with great pizza & a great, modern atmosphere. Perfect fit pizza lovers & lovers on a date night! Reasonably priced, with friendly staff - who spoke English fluently.

Worst service experience since a while. We choose to wait for a seat outside. Waited one hour for a seat. No problem this was our own choice. Then we ordered everyone else around us who came after us got their food. After a while we asked why our food wasn’t coming. They told us they made a mistake. Eventually waited 1 hour for 2 pizza’s. The waiters have 0 situational awereness. They don’t look at customers and are mostly busy in their own work. In hospitality you should be in contact with your guests and have a talk with them , communicate and check if everything is okay. We paid for the full bill. At least expected a coffee on the house or some desserts. Food was good no complaints especially the melanzane. This is actually a big disgrace to the chefs

I waited 1 hour and 45 minutes for my food and my stomach started to hurt.

We had a delicious meal; the salmon and asparagus are highly recommended. Service is sometimes not a problem in English, but clearly pointing out what you want on the menu certainly helps.

We did enjoy the pizza quite a bit but do feel that the dough is slightly undercooked. Overall the experience was very positive, especially the ambiance, service and prices. However, they do have limited food selection though, as they serve mainly pizza here.

The pizza was terrible (at least the one with tuna and burrata), but the waitress' service was perfect.

It is located in the center and I recommend it, the fish appetizers and pizza are excellent.

Good, attentive, and very fast service. Very noisy at the back of the restaurant; the acoustics aren't great. We sat at the front near the door, which was fine. The pizzas arrived very quickly. Light, thin crust, and tasty toppings. We wanted to share a panna cotta; two were served by mistake, but the waitress noticed it immediately and only charged for one. La Pizza is pricey, but the price-quality ratio is excellent.

A really, really good pizzeria. The food is delicious. The service was very friendly, and you could tell that they put a lot of effort into everything. They also have many vegetarian pizzas, and the selection is huge.

Great experience! The restaurant does not accept any reservations, however we were quite lucky on a Friday night to get a very nice table in no time. The Location was modern and gezellig and not the typical reproduction on Italian restaurant which we do not have anymore even in Italy since the 80’s. I appreciate that the tables are not too close to eachother, this creates coziness and intimacy. The menu is full of many different pizze, love the fact that they had also a small menu for the specialities. The pizza was really good, the quality of the ingredients and the dough really surprised me. The service is fast but very cordial. Price per person pizza with two beers around 30 euro.

One of the best run places in Rotterdam. Years of experience, kitchen is very strong, service is friendly and helpful and they have everything you need for an all rounded dinner with tiramisu espresso and limoncello ofcourse…

I had a pizza and was pleasantly surprised. The crust was just right: not too thick and not too thin. The tomato sauce tasted fresh, and the cheese was perfectly melted. The toppings were evenly distributed, and everything together gave it a delicious flavor. I would definitely order this again.

They have a very huge selection of pizzas and other Italian food. Service was really fast and friendly. The food we had was pretty delicious. They don’t accept reservations so it is better to go early on weekends.

I usually order anything but pizza here, and the food is good. Yesterday, we ordered pizza and a salad. Less than five minutes after ordering, the food arrived. The pizza was lukewarm, limp, and the cheese wasn't melted enough. Was the pizza already ready? Strange! We should have mentioned it, but the staff were so busy we didn't. The salad was tasteless. It's still a charming restaurant, so I'll definitely go back, but I won't order pizza.

Raw potato and eggplant on what they call pizza. When we politely informed the waiter, she rudely talked back and wouldn't accept the feedback. I will never go here again, and most definitely not for their mediocre pizza and their rude staff. What a total nightmare.

Great place for a great thin crust pizza. The choice of different pizzas is large and includes a lot of non typical pizza restaurant options. The service was very good. Attentive, friendly and caring staff. Prices are very reasonable for a city center restaurant.

The food was fantastic! Everything was fresh! We had pizza, clams, garlic shrimp, bruschetta, vegetable lasagna, and buffalo mozzarella.

Delicious pizzas, and the snacks (like Pizza Bianca) are also great. Vegan options are available, although they're not clearly labeled.

Sorry to say, but your Pizza capriciosa is a no go. With just just ham and Champignons it's simply boring. In the original recipy artichoks, olives and tomatoes are mandatory. There is not a word of eggs. With the these ingredients your capriciosa could be excellent. Please improve.

The best pizzas in Rotterdam! Good quality, though a bit pricey. The octopus and vitello tonato appetizers are highly recommended, as is the pizza with cured ham and mascarpone.

Our local Italian and hard to fault. A little cramped but for whatever reason we always seat in a nice spot:) good food, nice specials, not rushed, wine selections and recommendations. And some of the best desserts outside of Italy So yes we will keep going and avoids the travel to our other favourites:)

Couldn't even try the food/drinks because the waitress didn't come to take our order. She also asked us to move tables because where we originally sat was a 4-people table (we were a couple), only to give that same table to another couple mere minutes after. We had even suggested they take part of our original table (it was two tables put together) to attach it to another to create a 4-people table and leave us where we wanted to sit. She said they couldn't do that, but when this new couple was sat at our original table, they ended up indeed creating another 4-people table out of the same table I'd suggested they rearrange so we could keep our spot. We left due to the unacceptable, terrible service. Just a confounding experience overall.

The atmosphere was pleasant and the staff friendly. The interior has a contemporary feel, and the open kitchen makes a clean impression. For me, the restroom is often a gauge of a business owner's respect for their profession. Here, the restroom was modern, but not particularly clean and rather small: only one for women and one for men, while the restaurant seats about a hundred. I ordered a pizza with anchovies and a few other ingredients. Unfortunately, the taste was disappointing: the whole thing tasted of salt. The chef should have considered that the individual ingredients already contained salt.

Cold pizza, ready in 5 minutes. It looks like it's already ready. Just warm it up a bit and it's ready. I've been twice, but I won't be back.

We sat down at a 4 person table (20:30) and were requested to sit at a 2 person table instead. Despite it being late and it being not likely to get much busier we accepted and ended up at another table that was not so nicely located as the previous (also next to smokers unfortunately). Before receiving any service (~10 minute wait) another couple already had sat down at our previous 4 person table and received menus and service - what explains this treatment of guests?

Friendly service, high quality ingredients, but the pizzas lack soul. You order a pizza with burrata, rocket and olives and get a flat slice with too much tomato sauce, too much rocket and 6 olives and a lazy ball of burrata in the middle. A pizza with raw ham, on the other hand, is so thickly topped with meat that even a carnivore will get vegetarian tendencies from it. Another pizza that is supposed to have ricotta with eggplant and basil is one with eggplant that is not properly set (soggy and without caramelization from the grill, fried basil (instead of put on top after the oven) and a hard ricotta, while a soft ricotta would go so well with this pizza and you would expect it based on the title. Meatballs were great, finally a bit saltier than usual. Otherwise a great place, with nice staff, but the kitchen could do with a little more. They are just pizzas, if they want it to be good. Drinks served incorrectly. No tonic but ginger beer. Pizza bresoala with way too much arugula. Really had to take it off the pizza. Espresso for 3.60 from illy but with drip in the coffee. Pizza was fine. Pannecota for dessert was fine but expensive for what was served. La pizza was a concept now overrated. Too bad, Gusto and Opazzo are really better at the moment.

Delicious food, super busy and you can't make any adjustments to your pizza

The place is quite busy and noisy, but has a good atmosphere. The staff was still being trained I recon, as they came across as young and inexperienced. The food was ok; better than your average pizzeria but below true restaurant.

Nice place, nice atmosphere and wonderful, tasty pizza. Very thin dough with a crust that is pleasantly crunchy, a lot of tasty filling on top, the size is also impressive. I ate a large pizza (regular), but then I decided, of course, that it would be better if I took a small pizza. What pleased and surprised us was that they brought us free water, warm bread (very similar to Italian Ciabata) and a plate for olive oil. While you wait for your order, you can enjoy bread and olive oil. I ate pizza - 4 cheeses.

The tastiest octopus ever eaten and also a delicious pizza! The service was great, we still had enough time after dinner to quietly drink our drinks despite people waiting. Definitely recommended!

You can't make reservations here, so when we arrived we had to wait half an hour. Okay, done, after more than 45 minutes we were allowed to go downstairs, there were still 2 empty tables. Very strange, I would have let us sit there earlier... It wasn't like 6 people had just left the building... The food is good, they even have a vegan pizza on the menu!

Wide choice of pizza with surprising combinations. Cozy and vibrant place. Good wine choice. There was a separate card with suggestions, no pizza here but fish or meat. We entered without a reservation, but before 6 pm on a Saturday evening.

40 minutes between ordering 2 pizzas and serving them, for a pizzeria, even full of customers, is not the best! After 40 minutes, we threatened to leave to be served within 5 minutes, our neighbors on the terrace waited 20 minutes more for also 2 pizzas! Quality of pizzas: tasteless and quite small (the large one corresponds to a starter in Italy :)) Service: minimal and without a smile... in short, avoid bohemian neighborhoods and Dutch pizzas to eat...

Our favorite place in Rotterdam and extra dangerous to have as neighbors. Always nice and friendly service and the standard card with the daily menu always makes it a surprise, even if you come there regularly. Absolutely recommended and guaranteed for a pleasant evening with delicious food 🫶🏼

An exquisite restaurant and experience! The pizzas were delicious! Nicely decorated, good atmosphere, and super friendly staff. When the water runs out, it is automatically refilled, which is really great! I would love to come there again.

Delicious pizzas and great service! Unfortunately you can't make a reservation, but it's definitely worth the wait. Recommended are the 'Polpo Affogato' or the 'Polpette al Limone'! The atmosphere is cozy and authentic, making you feel like you're in Italy. Perfect for a pleasant evening with friends or family. The quality of the food more than makes up for the wait. Definitely recommended for pizza lovers looking for an authentic experience in Rotterdam!

The quality of the pizza is excellent and the service was good but I've had better pizza before. This was basically just flat bread dough with a lot of tomato purée and a few toppings.

Delicious pizzas and great service. I found the atmosphere downstairs to be rather mediocre. It feels a bit like being tucked away in the basement. Because the room is almost empty, it is quite reverberating.

Delicious food, wide choice (small snacks to whole meals, meat/fish/vegetarian). Everything tastes fresh and delicious. When the weather is nice it is also nice to sit outside. The only downsides are that the tables are a bit small and if you take a number of starters, they will not fit on one table & you are not allowed to sit at a 4p table with 2 people, even if the restaurant is still empty (when you left there was also a lot of space).

It would be nice if you ordered a glass of wine by the glass and actually got the wine you ordered. It's expensive enough to be a little more precise. Pizza Tarantella was underwhelming for the price. Tried to leave a comment on my own site, but there is no room for that
