Delicious food there , love it !

My family and love coming here. The food is great, and the owners are very nice. The white sangria is a hit with my son and wife

My friend and I both ordered fish paella, but it was served in a single pan that we had to share. Meanwhile, the third person at our table ordered chicken paella and received her own pan, which was only slightly smaller, but her portion was still significantly larger than ours. Despite this, we all paid the same €26 per person. Later, we ordered cappuccinos (€4 each), served in half-full cups. When we mentioned this in a polite way, the server started arguing with us, that it was just an optical illusion because the cups were larger than usual. She was visibly irritated about such a minor issue, though she eventually brought a new one. The coffee tasted also burned, but that’s beside the point. Overall, the food was average, the portions were small for the price, and the service felt unnecessarily argumentative.

We ate here on Saturday, October 31st. It was so good and delicious! We ordered two tapas. Everything tasted absolutely delicious. We'll definitely be back!

I'm Spanish, and I can assure you that I've had better food here than in many Spanish restaurants. The staff was wonderful, and the atmosphere was very pleasant. I will definitely visit this place again on my next trip to Leiden. Thank you.

On Saturday, July 19, 2025, I ate tapas at La Plancha with my children and grandchildren. The tapas were delicious. The service was attentive and very friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Super delicious Spanish food: tapas, paella, zarzuela. Lovely spacious terrace right in front of the Morspoort. Enjoyed a hearty meal, paired with wines, and excellent value for money.

While the food being delivered around us looked good our selections were poor. I suggest don’t try the Tortilla Espanola or the Tostada con queso, both pale compared to the real thing. For example The Tostada had very little cheese and the Tortilla was poorly made and over priced. Disappointed. Service was friendly enough.

Sat on the terrace with friends and had a bite to eat. Delicious rabbit, 1 point that was unfortunately a pity is that the patas bravas were just a few French fries with a bit of mayo

We have lived in Spain for more than 20 years and know a little about Spanish cuisine. Also the parents of the current operators, who are unfortunately no longer there. Last week we sat here on the terrace in the sun. Nice location at the spill gate and a large terrace. We were helped quickly and the service was very nice! By the way, the food also tasted very good.

The house wine was well priced and very tasty and the small tapas snacks were also delicious, especially the aioli with the bread and the patatas bravas are highly recommended. The service was also very good and fast, very nice girls working at the counter. In short, definitely a place I will visit more often!!

One of the better tapas places in Leiden & surrounding areas!

The grande plancha tapas Chef's choice is really not worth the money for €38. A bit on the level of La Cubanita. The service could have been a little sharper, it was not very attentive. Quality of the food was okay at best.

A good restaurant with a nice interior, based on Spanish motifs. As for the paella, it was a little bland, probably due to the added vegetables. The staff is friendly and helpful. I was left with a pleasant impression from the visit.

Great atmosphere and the tapas are okay! To be honest, I have to say that I find it quite pricey. Last summer I was in San Sebastian in the Spanish Basque Country and had tapas there with 4 people for a very reasonable price. It is actually not fair because once you have eaten tapas there, you automatically compare it with elsewhere and come to the conclusion that you have to go to San Sebastian for really tasty tapas (and I have really visited quite a lot of tapas restaurants in Spain). So do you ever get close to that....😋. Anyway, I'm glad that Leiden has a pretty good Spanish tapas restaurant with La Plancha.

Was here a few weeks ago, very disappointing experience. We had 2 different paellas, the rice was way too wet and mushy and had little taste. I think it's frozen carrots, peas and green beans. Just like the vegetables with the tuna steak. Vegetables no taste, tuna grilled too dry. We also had a few tapas snacks, the calamaris was on the raw side and the other 2 tapas had a tomato sauce that was too overpowering. I expected traditional Spanish food, but this isn't it. I think I would have had a different experience if I had just had a drink and a snack on the terrace. I think I would have given 4 stars, but definitely not for the food. It is also very noisy inside, it sounds like a pub. Not worth repeating.

Typical Spanish food on the edge of the center of Leiden. The food was tasty and sufficient

I had rabbit leg marinated in garlic oil with vegetables and patatas fritas. So I was just expecting vegetables on the plate, but the rabbit leg was served in a pan with a mix of vegetables (frozen?) floating in the liquid. Unfortunately the leg was cold, it went back to the kitchen and the same leg was warmed up and returned to a pan to which even more liquid had been added. Just expected another bolt well prepared. Missed opportunity to correct an error. Service and atmosphere were otherwise ok.

Very disappointing. We both had the rabbit leg as a main course. We were given two pieces of dry unappetizing meat swimming in some kind of watery and meager vegetable soup in an oversized pan. We got one portion of fries for the two of us. Ultimately, I paid 71 euros with an empty stomach and a lot of regret. The staff tries to appear smooth and familiar, but it feels rather rude and disinterested. It always took a long time before they noticed us.

Beautifully located tapas restaurant at the city gate of Leiden. Lots of outdoor space and very friendly staff invite you to linger for a long time. After trying our way through many different delicious tapas on our first visit, we came back again for the paella. Everything tasted very good and we spent a nice few hours here. The Crema Catalan was also a nice ending. The wines also went well, but the best was the Sangria Cava (with sparkling wine and Liquer 43). Parking spaces are rather rare, but since we were there by bike... no problem.

As a neighbor of la Plancha, I can say that I have only had pleasant experiences with this tent. Miguel and Car are great hosts and upon entering you immediately feel welcome, which is quite important for a restaurant. The employees will take you through the experience of delicious tapas and other Spanish delicacies. The service in general and specifically the waitress from Barcelona was very nice and treated us very well, unfortunately I cannot say the same about the food, the croquettes were passable, the anchovies in vinegar to retire them, the Padrón peppers are not from Padrón, but The thing is that the paella was inedible, apart from being spicy, spicy. I had no reservation and upon arrival on a Saturday everything had actually been reserved, but they got creative to find a spot for us. We had Paella and tapas, Paella traditionally came to our table in a pan and tasted just as good as in Spain. The tapas also tasted delicious. Definitely recommended, delicious real Spanish food. Cozy Spanish restaurant. Unfortunately, the chicken pollo does not have a side dish (vegetables, rice) as standard and neither do the prawns. The atmosphere and food are good and the staff friendly. I think the price is too much for what you get. The Irish coffee bv was 9.50 euros! And fish soup 11 euros

We ordered tinto de verano and some tapas. They took more than 20 mins to bring the food. The tapas were pretty expensive for the quality and the size. One of them was “pimientos de padrón” which were an absolute joke, having nothing to do with the real dish…. After that we didn’t even think of getting more food. I don’t think I’ll come back since it’s not very good representation of my country’s food.

Great service, both from the young lady and the bearded gentleman. Very attentive, thoughtful, patient and cheerful. We immediately felt very welcome upon entering. The food was surprisingly tasty. What delicious flavors! We shared the tapas board and then enjoyed paella, tortilla, olives and much more. We couldn't get enough of it! The portions are large and you definitely get your money's worth. Definitely recommended!

Heerlijk gegeten met z'n vieren. Een tapasplank gekozen, daarna een paella schotel gedeeld en tenslotte nog enkele losse tapas. Rode wijn was lekker, sangria wat minder. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en vlot. Gezellige sfeer met hogere en lagere tafels.

Vertrouwd adres dat altijd weer goed is en nooit tegenvalt. Heel gastvrij en alles vers bereid. Heerlijk, komen hier eigenlijk veel te weinig.

Net terug uit Valencia en behoefte weer lekker tapas te genieten. Tja, is toch nooit helemaal hetzelfde maar de sfeer (met zonnetje buiten 🌞) is goed en de tapas komen aardig in de buurt met de croquettes en patatas bravas. 😎

Wij kwamen gisteren onverwacht in La Plancha terecht en wat een onverwacht pareltje was dat! Heerlijk eten, super bediening en leuke plek. En dat voor een eerlijke prijs. Tref je niet meer zo vaak. Het blijkt een familie bedrijf, waarbij de broers het van de ouders hebben overgenomen. Die liefde, merk je!

Heel lekker gegeten. Verschillende tapas. De Paella zag er goed uit en een lekker dessert. De inrichting is zeer passend bij het restaurant. De bediening is zeer kundig en vriendelijk. Kom er graag nog een keer terug.

Soms MOET je gewoon een review schrijven omdat een restaurant dat verdient. La Plancha, wat een lekkernijen hebben ze hier. Tapas waar je geen genoeg van kunt krijgen, overheerlijke gerechten, alles vers bereid. Zeer vriendelijke en oplettende bediening. Erg gezellige sfeer wat wil je nog meer. Ik ben verrast dus kom zeer zeker meerdere keren terug! Tot gauw!

Leuk restaurant, vlak bij de oude Morspoort. Lekkere tapas en vrolijke bediening. Voor herhaling vatbaar! Parkeren kan in de overdekte parkeergarage die nog geen 100 meter ligt.

Heerlijk gedineerd, goed sfeervol restaurant. Zeer vriendelijk personeel. Ik had niet verwacht dat er bij zalm champignons zouden zitten, dus allergie daarvoor niet doorgegeven. Toen die er bij de groenten toch in zaten dit aangeven en het werd meteen opgepakt en opgelost. Super! Prijs/kwaliteit zeer goed, zeker een aanrader

Las wat minder goede recensies. Maar wij hebben een prima ervaring. Ondanks dat we zélf bij het bestellen vergeten waren om een allergie te melden, werd dit bij het uitserveren (toen we het meldden) direct en zonder problemen opgelost en vervangen. Top! Sfeer, ambiance en eten prima. De bediening was zeer vriendelijk en behulpzaam. Voor ons een aangename en fijne ervaring. Als we weer in de buurt zijn komen we vast weer eens terug.

Jammer van die opgestapelde dozen in de zaak. Heerlijke gevarieerde tapas,. Vlotte en vriendelijke bediening.

Zaterdag hier gegeten toen we een weekendje in leiden waren, echt een aanrader! Al menig tapas gegeten bij restaurants maar dit is mijn nieuwe favoriet ! Als je in leiden bent zeker hier naartoe gaan! super eten en vriendelijke werknemers en bovendien zeer klantvriendelijk !

Leuk en gezellig Spaans restaurant met lekkere gerechten en drank. Ik had nog niet eerder paella gegeten dus kan het niet echt vergelijken, maar deze smaakte heerlijk! Goede rijst en flink gevuld met groenten, kip, garnalen, inktvis en schelpdieren. Mijn vrouw genoot van een Asturische (geloof ik) bonenschotel een ook dat zag er prima uit en smaakte goed!

Goede tapaskaart, gezellig maar wel 'Spaans' lawaaierig...

'Vooruit, zullen we gewoon nog een keer naar het terras van La Plancha gaan?' Twee zondagen achter elkaar is misschien wat overdreven, maar het eten is dan ook zó lekker! Leuke eigenaren ook, die zelf in de bediening lopen en dat zichtbaar met plezier doen. En dus een heerlijk terras, met uitzicht op de Morspoort. Wij komen zeker weer!
