Our two breakfast sandwiches were delivered an hour and a half after we ordered them! Worthless!

Just placed a large order for 70 sandwiches. They should have just left them unfilled because it was literally just lettuce and tomato. Don't order large sandwiches here.

Very strange situation. I ordered a combo sandwich, which tasted fine, until I tasted sand. I thought I was crazy, looked at the roast beef, and there were definitely wet blobs of sand/mud between the roast beef and the lettuce. I called about it and reported the problem. Guess what, they said, thank you for reporting it, and they hung up on me. I expected at least an apology and the option of a new sandwich. A ridiculous situation, in my opinion.

The only people that should visit this place is health and safety. If you have food allergies and choose food accordingly, don't surprised if the substitute ingredients without informing you. Not only average food but food safety is very poor

We'd never been to Leiden before, and the name tempted us to have a sandwich. To our surprise, it took ages to be helped (we had to flag someone down after almost 20 minutes). We asked if we could have a different sauce on our sandwich, which the waitress said was no problem. She'd bring it. After waiting another 30 minutes, and the table next to us (who had sat down later) had already received their sandwich, we asked about our order. "Were the sandwiches in the oven?" Eventually, our sandwiches were brought with the wrong sauce. Since we didn't feel like waiting that long again, we simply ate them. We then waited for them to come back to ask for the bill, but this, too, proved to be a false hope. I went inside and was told I'd be helped, but everyone around me was, and unfortunately, I wasn't. After insisting again, I received the bill and was asked if everything was to my liking. When I told them it wasn't, they explained that it was a nuisance, and then I could pay. Too bad it turned out this way...

Elke keer als we in Leiden komen en we op zoek zijn naar een goede doch eenvoudige lunch komen we weer hier uit. De broodjes worden vers gemaakt en zijn goed gevuld en zijn heerlijk. Ook als je geen vlees eet.

Great food, just a pity you pay 11 euros for a salad, in this case salmon and tuna, which hardly contains any salmon or tuna.

I placed an order four days in advance for a business lunch. Unfortunately, they were over an hour late. The sandwiches were okay.

Practical for a quick lunch. (Visited in 2019)

I have only tried 1 sandwich on the menu and that is the healthy sandwich, but I will certainly never order that. Hey, nasty man (I think)

Ordered sandwiches online via the website, called again about an ingredient to remove it, everything went well. Only the sandwich did not become cheaper by omitting the ingredient. Order was ready. Top! And enjoyed the sandwiches. Recommended!

The service was terribly slow and unwelcoming. We ordered 2 beers in a non busy moment and it took them 30min to actually bring them to us. Then we ordered food, and after being there for another 45min we never got it. We asked for the bill and went inside to pay, after the table next to us left because they never got served in the first place. Waste of money and time

I've been coming to this sandwich shop for a long time and it remains one of my favorite places for lunch. It is small but nice. The price-quality ratio is also excellent.

Delicious and cheap sandwiches!

Tasty sandwiches and plenty of choice! However, the place is quite dirty; cobwebs in the corners, tables that are not cleaned after the previous customer and chairs and walls that are not maintained. Could use a makeover. Staff is just about friendly.

Extremely poor service where drinks were only served after one hour in dirty glasses with old wine

Oh dear. Dirty mess inside, partly friendly but partly arrogant service (but 100% stressed and uncomfortable) and after 60 minutes only received 4 of the 6 drinks and canceled lunch. Dramatically bad. And then I'll keep it very neat in this review.

On a beautiful day you can sit on the terrace on the water, across the street from the sandwich shop. Tasty sandwiches for a nice price, you can choose your own type of bread. You can order inside and have them bring it to the table, or sit outside and wait for service.

The food was delicious! Something went wrong with the order but it was resolved quickly! Furthermore, I think that the service is not around much, a quick lunch is unfortunately not possible and you really have to signal yourself for new drinks or to order.

Sandwiches here are really great. Always fresh and richly filled. Definitely not expensive for what you get. Highly recommended.

The food on site is fine. However, this is the 2nd time I order. And that is a drama. Unreachable by phone, and again waiting more than 2 hours for cold sandwiches. And they're not there yet. Unbelievable.

Simply always great! Sometimes so so ingredients wise; a 'real' chicken fillet that fits the image. But a classic in Leiden.

Sandwiches are fresh and richly filled. Also good combinations of ingredients in terms of toppings. Definitely a lunchroom to go back to.

Chosen ball sandwich with a mustard sauce. The bun was soft and the ball was tasty too. A very small location.

Cheap, mediocre sandwiches but staff uninterested, unwelcoming. Hygiene doesn't look good.

Het was lang, heel lang geleden dat ik hier eens was. (zeker 15 jaar geleden) Toen was het Leidsch Beleg een begrip voor goeie broodjes. Deze keer viel dat heel erg tegen. vuile tafels, rommel overal, duurde enorm lang voor het bestelde bij ons kwam. Het personeel is wel heel vriendelijk! Maar tegenwoordig zijn er veel meer leuke en modernere broodjeszaken overal.

Niet hier bestellen. Bestelling is nooit aangekomen, ze nemen niet op als je belt, volgens Thuisbezorgd 'is de bestelling verwisseld'. 2 uur later en een lege buik verder. 2 sterren omdat ik weet dat de broodjes wel lekker zijn.

Goede broodjes, maar kijk alsjeblieft niet achter in de zaak. Het ziet er aftands en niet schoon uit! Wel vriendelijke bediening.

Prima geluncht aan de gracht. En tot mijn verbazing heel erg betaalbaar, dat zou je niet verwachten op zo'n toplocatie.

Heel erg lang zitten wachten op de bestelling. Een via QR besteld broodje bleek niet beschikbaar. Dat kan, maar dit kwamen ze niet even zelf vertellen, maar werd pas verteld toen we na heel lang wachten vroegen waar onze bestelling bleef. Op zeker 6 tafels buiten werd niet afgeruimd terwijl de bediening telkens met lege handen naar binnen liep - ondanks dat al kraaien en meeuwen op de lege borden zaten en restjes zochten… Smerig! Uiteindelijk waren de broodjes best ok, maar vanwege de QR-ellende en de te lange wachttijden lopen we de volgende keer verder.

Erg trage maar wel vriendelijke bediening, redelijke prijzen. Mooie locatie om te zitten. Je kunt alleen bestellen via qr code. Na 24 minuten bestelde koffie en frisdrank gekregen.

Vriendelijk personeel en lekkere broodjes

Misschien omdat het zondag was, maar de broodjes waren niet echt vers. Ook het beleg proefde wat belegen. Leuk om er een keer te zijn geweest, maar volgende keer loop ik een paar deuren verder.

Heel fijn brood- c.q. lunchtentje met zonder meer lekkere broodjes voor een mooi prijsje. Aangezien je zelf aan de bar moet bestellen, geef ik een sterretje minder voor bediening, maar da's nou eenmaal het concept van dit zaakje, waarmee het goedkoop kan blijven. Een groot glas verse en heerlijke jus d'orange voor 2.50 € vind je echt nergens in Leiden. Ook de tosti was zeer royaal belegd en smeuïg, maar staat niet op de kaart. Dat zou ik de eigenaren wel aanbevelen, lijkt me een gangbaar artikel onder met name de studenten.

Sloepje varen in Leiden, heel gezellig. Voor de lunch even aanmeren bij " broodjeszaak" Leidsch Beleg. Hadden we beter niet kunnen doen, want we bestelden warme broodjes beenham en broodjes geitenkaas. Veel te hard gebakken broodjes, kan echt niet. Je kon er een spijker mee in de muur slaan. En 3 schamele plakjes beenham en een enkele geitenkaas? Jammer hoor, teveel betaald voor te weinig eten.

Ruim 45 min gewacht op twee belegde broodjes, pas na twee keer navragen kwam er wat beweging in. Broodjes wel lekker verder niet heel denderend.

Mooi uitzicht. Slechte service en lange wachttijden…

We had Combi and Vegan sandwich. Both were really tasty. Also affordable prices. 😁

Drinken waren ze vergeten verkeerd boordje eren was best oke

Laatst broodje oma gehakt bal besteld, er zaten letterlijk 3 plakjes dunne gehakt bal op een groot broodje. Het smaakte echt nergens naar. Voor mij de laatste keer.

Leuk klein zaakje met heerlijke broodjes en vriendelijk personeel

Leuke studentikoze zaak, maar een fantastische kaart en net zulk lekker eten tegen goede prijskwaliteit verhouding.

Vriendelijk personeel, goedkope en lekkere grote broodjes. Enige is dat bezorging altijd te laat is. Bij mij de afgelopen 3 keer steady 45 minuten te laat, maar toch blijf ik bestellen. Misschien komt t ook doordat ik vaak op een zondagochtend bestel.

Wat een walgelijke ervaring. Heb een ciabatta rosbief besteld, maar het broodje was zo hard en dik dat er niets meer te proeven viel van alles wat er tussen deze twee betonnen deegplakken in zat. Ik raad dit ten strengste af en eet nog liever een boterham die ik op straat heb gevonden. 2/5 sterren Update: na meerdere happen te hebben genomen ben ik van mening veranderd. De eerste hap was niet representatief voor de rest van het broodje. Smaakt prima en vers. 4/5 sterren!

Small place, cozy a little musty, dinky but very welcoming and excellent prices. The staff are very friendly, food is good, spartan but tasty and filling. Thank you friendly person at the counter who kept the smile going through all the rush.

Excellent. Had a fantastic sandwich here today for a really good price. The lady that makes them came to bring the sandwiches with a smile that showed she really makes them with love. Recommended!!

Heerlijk broodje gegeten op een knus terras aan het water. Leuke en vriendelijke meiden. En, in tegenstelling tot de altijd nóóit genoeg, zeer klantvriendelijke prijzen.

Amazing food, great view and service at all times! (we had gourmet sandwiches at 15:00 for less than 5€ each). What else to say, the staff is super nice and friendly (they also charged my phone with their charger), the food is very good (from a picky Italian) and the location is absolutely prime, eating on a raft on the canal. 10+++ a must try in Leiden!

Lekkere broodjes, maar zoals al vaker gezegd, het kan echt ontieglijk lang duren. Ben een paar keer zelfs weggelopen, terwijl ik aan het terras zat. Zo lang hoort het niet te duren om wat broodjes te beleggen zou je zeggen....

Ze hebben keuze uit vele goed belegde broodjes, er is erg vriendelijke bediening en lekkere, hete koffie. Weinig zitplaats dus ideaal om een broodje mee te nemen voor onderweg.
