Landgoed Bosch & Duin in Udenhout

We were there on a beautiful autumn Sunday at 4:37 PM. The terrace was quite full. We wanted a drink and a portion of bitterballen (Dutch croquettes). That wasn't possible, as the kitchen closed at 4:30 PM. So, we had two slices of Udenhoutse Broeder (a kind of pie). That wasn't possible either. Such a shame. And also a bit strange because a family party was going on inside the dining room. And they did have snacks... EDIT: Following our review, the restaurant contacted us to share their side of the story. And we received a small gift as compensation. Thank you very much for that!

Nice place to rest, drink or eat a bit after a big walk through the "Drunense duinen" with the dog

Really disappointing that they still do not offer any oat/soy milk for coffee, It feels like I just traveled back in time 15 years. Would have been nice to at least get a hot drink after playing on the snow dunes, as there were no vegan food options, I would have been content with at least a coffee.

Absolutely fantastic! You couldn't ask for anything better. A walk with the dog, a lovely walk through the dunes, and then a drink at Bos en Duin. A great, confirmatory afternoon. I would order some hot chocolate and let it cool down. That'll save you €1.35 ;).

This restaurant is located on the edge of the Drunense Dunes, a beautiful walking area where children and dogs can play freely. You can order good, affordable food at this restaurant, and they also have delicious pastries. The staff is very friendly. It's a large restaurant with a large terrace and ample parking.

Ideal for a bite to eat or a drink after a walk or bike ride through the dunes. Dogs are welcome.

No one said hello or anything. Then I spent about 10 minutes inside at a table, just watching a girl behind the bar. I didn't order a drink. I couldn't make contact. There were a maximum of 20 people inside. I'd never seen anything like it. So I left. There were people with coffee, so it must be possible.

It was very nice and the food was delicious...the service was also very friendly and the decor was lovely, with all the beautiful things on the walls and ceiling, the fireplace, and so on. I've been there twice in total...once today and once a few years ago...

After a walk in the woods, we sat there on the terrace. But we sat there for a long time, 30 minutes, and still no service. So we headed out again. We ended up at De Baron in Udenhout and were thoroughly spoiled. So a tip for you: hire more staff or close part of the terrace.

We had a wonderful meal here last week. Even though we arrived late, the service was fantastic and we were able to enjoy dinner and dessert in peace.

Always fantastic croquettes with delicious bread. When it's very busy inside, you can hardly hear each other. Even the nice young waitress had trouble with the sound. Maybe turn off the radio when it's so busy? Would you mind walking to the beautiful panoramic viewpoint when you're there? Always worth it.

The food was delicious. The service wasn't up to par with the dishes. I also don't know who ordered what.

Simply good. Lovely terrace, friendly service. The sandwiches were tasty and well-filled. Due to the crowds, there was a bit of a wait, but that's understandable.

During a family bike ride, we stopped to quench our thirst and eat. Very warm welcome, baby high chair available. Very wide selection of beers 🍺, children's drinks. Very large shaded terrace, outdoor games for children, baby high chair available. The beers were excellent and the apple cake delicious and generous. Very good place, I recommend ;)

Had to ask to pay four times. Tried to leave after 20 minutes. The people sitting next to us received an unsolicited bill, and we received theirs.

Nice location and pleasant atmosphere. Service was friendly and prompt. For a restaurant with five types of Wienerschnitzel on the menu, the regular schnitzel was unfortunately disappointing: very greasy (which also tasted awful) and without the expected crispy coating. I didn't eat it; my partner didn't like it either, but he ate it because he was hungry. Hopefully, this was an exception; the dessert afterward was very tasty.

It's a shame you have a height restriction on your incredibly large parking lot. Because of that, we couldn't come to lunch with our campervan. With such a large parking lot, is it really impossible to make a section accessible for campervans? Your website says everyone is welcome...well, apparently not.

We started with good coffee and delicious pastries. We cycled back in the afternoon for a delicious lunch! We had the 12-hour fish special. It was truly wonderful!

Enjoyed a delicious ice cream sundae on the terrace under a large parasol. Even when it started raining heavily, they were kind enough to ask if everything was to our liking.

Gisteren hebben we heerlijk op het terras gezeten bij Bosch en Duin. Het is een fijne plek zo aan de rand van de Loonse en Drunense Duinen. Ik bestelde wat te drinken en een tosti  van € 6,50. De bestelling  werd gebracht maar wat een teleurstelling! De tosti leek op een kindertosti van casinobrood: wit, vierkant en dun. Ik vroeg direct aan de serveerster of er een foutje was gemaakt? Ik had toch een tosti van oerbrood besteld, geen kindertosti? Zij verzekerde mij dat dit hun oerbrood was en dat het er gewoon zo vierkant uitzag door het tosti-ijzer. Dit werd even later door een andere medewerker ook nog eens bevestigd. Dit was echt hun oerbrood. Ik vind het schandalig: een karige tosti gemaakt van casino wit, zonder enige garnering, voor een prijs die in geen enkele verhouding staat tot hetgeen is geleverd. Jammer.

Quite busy around lunchtime, fast service, dog friendly.

Very friendly staff. Very quick service. We had a delicious lunch before our walk. Afterward (11km), we focused on getting our fluids back on track with a delicious slice of blueberry pie and ice cream. Everything was great.

One of the most beautiful Old Brabant locations in the region. Right on the Loonse and Drunense Dunes. Spacious inn (originally dating back to 1780 or so?) with a monumental fireplace and deer antlers on the wall. Chic interior or cozy on the terrace. It has a slightly Efteling-esque feel (without immediately crossing the line into fantasy). This is Brabant Experience.

Food good, atmosphere good. Service could be a bit faster but is good. Possibly because of the crowds, making and bringing took a bit longer.

One star just for rating purposes only .Shocking establishment for customer service. Arrived at 7.20 with my son and asked to order food but was told the kitchen was closed despite being advertised as 8.30 closing. As much of this area customer service is quite poor.

Zeer snelle en vriendelijke bediening ondanks de drukte. Lekker slaatje met licht verwarmde geitekaas, afgewerkt met pijnboompitjes en zongedroogde tomaatjes, begeleid door licht verwarmde broodstukjes met lookboter, de toasti á l’italienne werd ook heel lekker bevonden! De startplaats voor prachtige wandelingen door de Loonse en Drunense duinen!

Nice restaurant near a monument commemorating a group of resistance heroes who were murdered by the Germans during WWII.

It was the first beautiful day that really felt like summer, so we made the most of it with a walk and some outdoor dining. We brought the dog along for a beautiful walk before dinner. The staff was friendly and quick with the service, which made things even nicer. The appetizer “burrata” was absolutely lovely! The “Franse schnitzel,” though, was a bit of a miss for me. There was so much honey on the plate that it overpowered everything else. Next time, I’m skipping the main and doubling up on the appetizers instead.

Very nice that I was allowed to use the toilet before the terrace was open. My thanks for that.

If someone looks at you 3 times while you clearly want to order something and 3 times they look at you and almost roll their eyes and look away, then you don't feel welcome. If you work hard every time of those 3 times, then I understand that it could be my wrong interpretation. But they just quietly did nothing and had fun chatting with colleagues. We left again, because this did not quite give us the feeling that we were welcome.

The only place where they have managed to have a mess on their terrace for 20 years. The staff is friendly and works hard, which I think is due to the lack of clarity of the building and terrace. One of the more beautiful places on the Loonse and Drunense Duinen.

Heerlijk na een fikse wandeling op een erg warme dag even bijkomen en lunchen. Later die week nogmaals even koffie gaan drinken. Aan de honden is goed gedacht. Er staan allerlei drinkbakken klaar die je mag vullen. Het personeel is erg vriendelijk en loopt hard. Tijdens ons eerste bezoek was het heel druk. We komen vast nog wel eens terug hier, omdat we familie in de buurt hebben.

Lovely terrace as a stopping place

During a lunch at the attractive Bosch en Duijn Estate, I was surprised by a sublime dish that perfectly captured the essence of spring: asparagus with salmon. The presentation was classic and elegant, with an eye for detail and a sense of seasonal beauty. The asparagus was perfectly al dente – silky soft with a light bite, as it should be. They tasted fresh, as if they had been stabbed that morning. The salmon, gently cooked and browned to perfection on both sides but still soft and juicy at the same time. What really made the dish special was the fine balance between simplicity and refinement. The sauce – a light hollandaise sauce with a hint of lemon – lifted the whole thing to a higher level, without overpowering the pure flavors. The service was friendly and attentive and suggested this dinner dish for our late lunch. The Bosch en Duin estate will be a keeper and fun to combine with a visit to 't Achterhuis.

Cozy terrace for a drink after the walk

Cozy restaurant, affordable, pleasant service, good parking next to the nature reserve, where you can enjoy mountain biking, walking and cycling.

Friendly staff but the chocolate milk has nothing to do with chocolate or milk. I also have colored water at home after washing the dishes. This complaint has been here for 6 years.

Nice resting place after a bike ride

Had lunch, goat cheese tosti was baguette with goat cheese (not been in tosti iron), very strange, dry and with tomato. Strange combination and not very refined. Other tosti was also without accompanying salad. We had different expectations! Too bad!

More than an hour waiting for a salad, a bread with smoked salmon, and fries. The waitress was rude when we asked for explanations after 50 minutes and corrected us. When we were about to leave, she said to us that we needed to pay the bill of food that we did not receive after one hour.

ridiculous prices for a bowl of peanuts: €3.50. while drinking beer. We really wanted to eat there, but we changed our minds.

We gingen laat in de middag aan een stuk afrltje bij de bar zitten, met moeite werd het serviesgoed van de tafel gehaald, het personeel vond de bitterballen belangrijker dan de gasten. Toen ik eindelijk iemand gevonden had die de bestelling op wilde nemen, werd deze vriendelijke jongedame terug gefloten door een collega u moet nu geen keuze maken uit de lunchkaart maar uit de dinerkaart lunchkaart was tot 10 minuten geleden terwijl we al een kwartier zaten, uiteindelijk komt dan nog een betweter van een hoofdbedekking zeggen in de hal dat we niet meer welkom zijn. Wat een kutbedrijf, gooi je geld maar in de sloot maar geef het hier zeker niet uit. Zo’n zaak verdient z’n faillissement

Excellent cup of coffee. Not too expensive. Staff is no longer what it used to be. You don't really feel very welcome if there are 3 people at checkout, but it takes a minute before they notice you.

We ended up here by chance. Service was smooth. The food was fine but lacking in imagination.

Crappy tent. Too expensive and an hour's wait for lunch and then also charged 50 cents for a glass of tap water, which is charged for a child, while we had eaten and drunk enough money. I recommend not going here and walking/cycling or driving a bit further to a restaurant that understands how to do it!

Pleasant stopping place for cyclists and walkers in and around the Drunense Duinen. Varied and good quality range of food and drinks. Beautifully situated with a sunny terrace. Also good for parties and celebrations. Neat sanitary facilities.

Nice location on the edge of the huge walking area. You can eat well there for (compared to others) relatively little money. Food and atmosphere were good, looked neat inside despite the enormous crowds. Big plus for dog owners, they can take them to inside. Drinking troughs are also available outside. Despite the crowds, we were helped well and quickly. The food we ordered (croquette with country bread) was good, the bread was very fresh and crunchy and the croquettes were very tasty. Definitely recommended.

Beautiful restaurant near the Drunense heath. Service was smooth. Enjoyed a delicious apple strudel with a slightly too strong cappuccino.
