Had a very lovely afternoon! The high tea was super tasty. It could have used a few more sandwich options, though. And the bacon bits in the food weren't mentioned. There were many gluten-free options, so that was very nice. Overall, it was very fun and enjoyable!

We celebrated our birthday party and truly enjoyed the delicious appetizers, the excellent service, and the ambiance. Our guests also let us know that they all enjoyed themselves. Even the guests who are vegetarian or vegan were very pleased with the food they ordered. We had a wonderful evening and would love to return for lunch or dinner.

I reserved a High Tea at Karakter for my birthday. Upon arrival, the table was decorated, and during lunch, the hostess brought a small firework display. The High Tea itself was very tasty, with various snacks; definitely worth repeating!

The gluten-free options were amazing! The menu didn't mention gluten-free options, but when I ordered the gluten-free eggs and bacon, so there wouldn't be any wheat ingredients, I was surprised to receive it on a gluten-free bun. What a wonderful surprise! The Primitivo red wine and the Cabernet Sauvin were excellent!

I have been coming to Karakter for years, first for fries at the chip shop, later regularly for dinner, and now for lunch. The quality, atmosphere, and service have always been very good, which is why I keep coming back. They are never stingy with the food either; I often manage to finish it all, so even those with a big appetite don't have to worry about going hungry. I consider this one of Karakter's best qualities: they don't choose between taste and quality or a well-filled plate, they simply do both.

It is a shame that there was only one small snack platter for 5 people during the first round. The snack platter for the second round was tasty and well-arranged. However, something tasty should have been served with the third round as well. We really missed out on that. It would have been even more complete for 5 people then. It was certainly tasty, but actually a bit too little to snack on with 5x High Wine and Beer. After all, what kind of platters do you get if you only come for the High Wine or Beer?

Unfriendly staff and mediocre food

The ambiance is usually fine, but it is very unfortunate that it was almost as warm inside as outside. We found the high tea dishes a bit disappointing. The sweet treats were the same for everyone, so everyone had something they liked, but unfortunately, that was not the case with the sandwiches. There were 3 different sandwiches. So when one person had the brown bread roll with salmon, the others had no choice but what was left. It would be better to have the same sandwiches for the same number of people. I never eat white bread myself, but I had no other choice than what was left. So, white. A bit of a shame. The rest of the snacks were the same for the number of people and tasty. Next time we will just go for the regular lunch, because there is nothing to complain about there.

As always, it was delicious again. Due to a mistake of mine, I forgot to indicate that I didn't want cheese on the toastie. This was resolved by a new toastie. Tip: due to the extremely hot weather, air conditioning would have been nice 🤗

We had lunch for Father's Day and were served by Jelle. Jelle, you really did help us so wonderfully. We had our grandchild with us and we didn't have to ask for anything because you immediately brought out all sorts of things to make her happy. Fantastic. The food was delicious.

It is always so cozy there, and the food is always well taken care of. The plates are always beautifully presented, making you eat with a big appetite. The service is very good; they always ask if everything is to your liking, and the staff is very friendly. It is the right word: the atmosphere and experience are sufficient, with nice music in the background. We have already celebrated several parties in the beautiful and atmospheric garden room.

The food is delicious and good. The High Tea is tasty. The service was simply bad and very unfriendly. The waitress who served us really needs some lessons in hospitality and friendliness. That costs nothing and yields so much more. We were not seen, and she did not keep her promises. That is why there is no tip.

Always liked the place but unfortunately for this baby shower (high tea) I have to score super low for multiple reasons. 1) the amount of food for what we paid was very little. 29 € for a very small soup and 2 half small sandwiches each and a bunch of small dessert full of sugar (after the first one you didn’t really want to eat the others). Tap Water was not even included only tea that they never came to refill. 2) The service was very bad too. Most probably overwhelmed by the amount of people but it was a baby shower so for us the food was already decided. They came to take the order of the coffee 1h after we arrived and the coffees arrived together with the soup!?! We started eating 1.5/2h after we arrived. It was about 2 o clock. 3) We all had to switch places based on where they placed the food for the people with allergies. One person unfortunately has multiple allergies (which the restaurant was aware since days) and they gave a small plate with grapes and two little dessert. Said she could also eat all the rest of the salty food but you could clearly see there was soya in it and she is allergic!!!!!!! Fortunately enough she checked carefully before eating. She ended up paying 28 euros for two mini desserts and grapes. Unbelievable. 4) small reason also being that I have booked 3 months ago and asked for a specifically spot and they didn’t even make the effort of trying to place us there. But okay honestly with everything else considered, this was the most unimportant part. Overall, don’t do your high tea/ baby shower / celebration here and save yourself some money.

Yesterday we celebrated our 65th birthdays at the Tuinhuis and everything was well arranged by the friendly staff. We wanted for nothing.

Absolutely loved our visit to Karakter! We snagged a lovely outdoor table during the long weekend… well worth the reservation. Our server went the extra mile by double-checking our dietary needs directly with the kitchen. The Garnalenkroketten de Bourgondier 🍤 were outstanding, and my dining companion was completely won over by the Mon Chou. A fantastic spot near Spoorpark… we’ll definitely be back!

Not a pleasant experience. There were four of us, and at 10:00 we were the only ones in the place. We were given a reserved table with very uncomfortable metal chairs. I asked the waitress if we could have another table because of those chairs. She told me that the other tables were also reserved, to which I replied that those people wouldn't know which table was for them. She then snapped, "I'm just checking, YES," because my colleague made the schedule and I'm not going to deviate from it. You can sit at that other table for an hour because it's reserved for 11:30. Then she disappeared into the kitchen. We walked out because if that's such a problem—you snap at your guests and are completely inflexible—then I'm leaving. I won't let myself be snapped at; I can spend my money anywhere!

Karakter is a nice location, situated behind the Hart van Brabant laan in Tilburg. Within walking distance of the NS train station. You can eat both indoors and outdoors (breakfast, lunch, and drinks). The staff is friendly and helpful. The quality and quantity of the dishes are good. There is a wide selection, also for vegetarians and vegans.

We celebrated our birthdays with a friend. It was a fantastic party; the service was friendly, and they kept coming quickly to ask if people wanted another drink. Tasty snacks. Everything was discussed clearly beforehand; they listened well and were proactive. Questions we asked later via email were answered quickly and clearly. We had a wonderful evening.

I have been coming here for years for lunches, high gin, high tea, or high wine. They are all equally good, and the atmosphere is always lovely. The coziness exuded by both the restaurant and the garden room is also hard to find anywhere else. I recently celebrated my 40th birthday here, and what a fantastic evening it was! I didn't have to worry about a thing, and my guests wanted for nothing in terms of food and drink. Truly super satisfied!!

We enjoyed a delicious lunch with 17 people. The ambiance is very nice. The menu is varied and there is something for everyone; vegan, fish, or meat, everything was equally tasty, judging by all the reactions. The service was top-notch and the group a bit chaotic, but we were helped very well with patience. We will definitely be back.

My mother thoroughly enjoyed her birthday High Tea. However, it was incredibly crowded; a tip is to spread the groups out a bit more across the room. She could barely hear her friends. Otherwise, the food was delicious and the staff friendly.

I visit Karakter often; the service is always good and the food delicious. I was there last Sunday as well. I had made a reservation for four people. We were directed to a high table with high chairs. Because I was with my elderly parents, I indicated that that table was not very suitable. We were then offered a table in the conservatory. We ordered and went to eat. An hour later, we wanted to order dessert and coffee, but were told that the conservatory had to be cleared and that we had to leave the table within 15 minutes at the latest. This is very unfortunate. If you had indicated beforehand that the table was only available for a little over an hour, we would have had the choice of whether or not to sit there. Another tip is to have it indicated when making an online reservation whether a high table is suitable or not.

As always, we had a delicious meal and there was plenty to choose from on the extensive menu. The atmosphere is nice and the staff friendly. We love coming back. Our table turned out to be available for a shorter time than desired due to a party, so they creatively helped find solutions. We were politely moved so we could have drinks after lunch. Great!!

I held a private party here. The staff was friendly, and we were always served quickly. I wanted a party where guests could pay with tokens. That was no problem for Karakter. I also received good help determining the quantity of snacks.

Great place, but the service is absolutely terrible. Our husbands had booked a murder mystery dinner for me and my girlfriend in November as a surprise. On March 9th, we were told they were overbooked and the March 14th dinner couldn't go ahead. No surprise for us. A babysitter was arranged, but you can't easily find something similar at such short notice. The excuse that the group was too large the night before the murder mystery dinner, meaning they had to disappoint people for this evening, doesn't hold water. The night before was a month ago, so you don't wait a month (and five days beforehand) to contact them and tell them the dinner is cancelled.

Made an appointment for a retirement celebration. Received a fair and appropriate quote, smooth and accurate communication, and excellent care in a pleasant atmosphere during the celebration. In short, satisfied on all counts.

We had the pleasure of celebrating our daughter's baby shower at Karakter, and we absolutely loved it! They were very helpful in the preparations, and we had a great time with Laura. The day itself was a complete joy for us. We were very happy with the staff, who regularly checked in to make sure everything was going well. They worked incredibly hard to provide our guests with drinks and snacks on time, as agreed. They were fantastic!

We had a delicious high tea with a variety of teas, even fresh mint, and a delicious soup to start. A tiered stand was filled with cold and warm savory and sweet snacks. Everything was well taken care of, and the service was friendly.

We were a group of 12 adults and 2 babies. The long table was nicely hidden behind an open shelving unit (wonderfully private). We were seated far from the door, so we weren't bothered by incoming or outgoing guests. The service was exceptionally friendly. The food took a little while, but that was probably due to the carnival crowds and, of course, our large group. Except for the slightly hard fries, the lunch was delicious! The price was a pleasant surprise; they offered a 20% discount for carnival ;)

We had a crime dinner here on Friday night... It was a super fun evening with a happy ending for us... The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere. They take any allergies or special requests into account. The staff is very friendly and attentive. The food is very flavorful and delicious. Definitely a restaurant to return to.

Lovely restaurant, only a shame that on top of the €5.40, we also had to pay €7.35 for a bottle of still water! It's ridiculous. The two of us ordered a glass of wine. We also wanted a bottle of water to quench our thirst. The waiter said, "I'll put a bottle on the table," as if that were a courtesy. €7.35 on the bill!

Last weekend we organized a drinks reception in the garden room and were thrilled with how well it was organized! They really considered my wishes and preferences beforehand, and the afternoon itself was fantastic in terms of atmosphere, drinks, snacks, and service :-)!

I celebrated my 30th birthday at Karakter, and it was truly an unforgettable evening! The communication beforehand was incredibly quick and friendly, and Laura was very helpful in accommodating my wishes. I was able to let go of everything that evening. It was well-organized, and my compliments to the bar staff that evening! They kept checking in to see if everything was to my liking and if I needed or missed anything. Both were super friendly, and the drinks were kept a close eye on so no one was left without (cold) drinks. The venue was very cozy, and I was given the freedom to decorate as I pleased. The communication afterward regarding payment of the invoice also went very smoothly. They respond quickly! I highly recommend this venue and will definitely be back in the future! Thank you so much.
