LAWA - Ice cream & Cafe in Slotermeer-Zuidwest

The food, waffles, were very delicious and we liked the presentation very much. The ice cream was very good.

Walked in for the first time on Saturday evening. Very tight in terms of space and the tables were dirty and the chair/bench area was full of crumbs. The lady at the cash register seemed unfriendly and the other staff were quite rushed. Even when ordering a simple tea, an employee will come with a tea box so you can choose a flavor. I don't really know what to think of that 'concept'. The crêpes we took tasted good, but the topping was small. Unfortunately, the ice cream we had taken had something unpleasant in it. Nice to have tried, but Lawa is disappointing.

Asked several times if the loud music could be turned down, unfortunately they nodded yes, but the music is still loud. We come here as a group to have a nice chat and we can't even hear each other normally. This was not the case last time. It's a shame that it can differ per employee whether it will be a nice visit or not. Because of this I won't come next time.

When it comes to wafel and crepe, the first place that comes to mind is of course Lawa Cafe.

The food was tasty, but the space is small and very cramped. Unfortunately the employees are very slow; we had to wait a very long time for our food and even 20 minutes for a glass of water. In addition, the waitress was very unfriendly and spoke disrespectfully to us. To make matters worse, we paid twice once, so be careful when paying. Very disappointing!

The food tasted good, but unfortunately the experience was not pleasant. The space is small and cramped, and the service was very slow. We had to wait a long time. The waitress seemed unfriendly and disrespectful. What made it really annoying is that we paid double once. That really could have been better. I also ordered whipped cream but did not receive it and also indicated at the cash register that I had not received my whipped cream and unfortunately I still did not receive my whipped cream.

Food is delicious and always nice people here. It's often full here :)

Wonderful place if you're in the mood for something sweet! Definitely recommended.

Nice little cozy tent with many types of sweets. In the morning you often have room and you can sit and enjoy yourself. In the evening it is often busy and there is hardly any room. In the hustle and bustle it is also difficult to hear others. I recommend going in the morning, afternoon.

Service was quite slow . Ate waffle with ice cream, ice cream was terrible and had a sour taste, I won't come here anymore. don't advise at all.

The place is generally nice. But the interior is stuffy and there is no playground or separate section for children, so it gets noisy.

I recently tasted a delicious cheesecake. The crispy crust and creamy filling were perfectly balanced, with a fresh hint of lemon. The fresh berries made it complete. Highly recommended for cheesecake lovers!

The lady who helped our table was very nice and she also made sure she was nearby so that if anyone needed her, she was nearby. Food was ready quickly. all in all it was a nice experience.

When I see Tugba I always get super excited, because I know I will receive top service. My compliments to her! My favorite from Lawa has to be the crepe! The only bad thing is that they come very quickly with a pin machine as soon as you have ordered. I think paying for your food directly without having eaten it is a no-no. I understand the policy, but I find it very annoying to receive the three stars for service!

San Sebastian is great, the employees are very nice and take care of you.

It's a nice place to eat dessert, but I don't recommend going in the evening. We got our drinks quite quickly, but for dessert it took just over half an hour and when we asked why it took so long, they said it was busy, while they keep seating people and they also got their dessert earlier, In the end our order wasn't even complete

Sweet treat? You can treat yourself or someone else at any time of the year. Every time zone has its sweet temptation. At LAWA, temptation is a nice sweet treat.

At Lawa I enjoyed a delicious caramel sea salt cake. The balance of sweet and salty was perfect, and every bite was a treat! The atmosphere in the shop was cozy and the service excellent. Definitely recommended for anyone who likes special flavor combinations! I'll definitely be back.

We were not welcomed properly means: No Hello, no nothing. The presentation of the desserts on the plates had a « bad looking » a could not take a proper pictures. way too much chocolate on my dessert. Either the pancake or the waffle were not hot at all. Average is overrated. Quality/Price not worth it.

Been to Lawa, it looked nice, but that was about it. I ordered for 2 people and were able to fill out a piece of paper with what we wanted on the crepe/waffle. We handed it in after 40 minutes, heard nothing and then asked what happened. It turned out that the paper had been lost, so we ordered again. The drinks had arrived. In the meantime we also ordered from the restaurant next door, which is why it took a while before we asked for our dessert. We got our food from lawa and some toppings were missing. Then we received the bill from Lawa which stated toppings that we did not have. So we had already paid too much and that too after waiting an hour!

Good thing. Eating a nice dessert.

I recently visited Lawa cafe and it was a fantastic experience! This café has a cozy and cozy atmosphere, perfect for a relaxing afternoon or a good time with friends. The staff is super friendly and makes you feel right at home. What really stood out was the delicious San Sebastian cheesecake. It was creamy, flavorful and simply delicious! They also have a range of other sweet treats and excellent coffee. It is clear that they pay a lot of attention to the quality of their products. Lawa cafe is a great place to enjoy delicious pastries and a nice atmosphere. I will definitely come back here for more sweets!

Today I went to a restaurant with three friends, where we had to wait 15 minutes upon arrival, even though the restaurant was empty. While we understood this, it wasn't the best first impression. A lady came to our table to take our order. While my friends laughed among themselves, everything was still going well, despite the mediocre service up to that point. When the lady brought our order, one of my friends asked if she could exchange her cake because she didn't want it. She hadn't touched it yet. To our surprise, the waitress reacted irritated and said in an unfriendly tone: "It's already in the system, I can't change it anymore. No, sorry, bad luck." As someone who works in the hospitality industry myself, I know this is wrong; it is best to adjust an order in the system. Her mean tone shocked us. A few moments later she returned with another order for one of my friends, who again politely asked if the cake could be exchanged. It seemed she didn't understand us, so I repeated the request in Turkish. Then she started to get really angry and accused us of making fun of her. I explained to her that we weren't laughing at her at all, but that my friends were just being corny with each other. I understand her side—she probably felt attacked. But after I explained this, she asked if we also did this in other restaurants: order something and then say we don't want it. I replied that I also work in the catering industry and that if a customer prefers a different cake, I will adjust that without any problems. Finally, after repeating a few times that we were really not laughing at her, she was suddenly able to exchange the cake. It's a shame the situation turned out this way, especially since we weren't laughing at her. I understand that she may have felt attacked, and self-defense may be a natural response, but the tone in which she responded was unnecessary. Despite my own experiences with disrespectful customers, I have always tried to remain professional even when I felt uncomfortable. In the end we just wanted another cake…

Not what it used to be. Had Sebastiaan cake, which is half the size of before. Price is still almost €8, but actually for half. Furthermore, the tables were poorly cleaned: chocolate stains were already left. Luckily there are other tents in the area!

Recommendation via tictoc, we went there specially a nice, well-run cafe with delicious waffles and crepes, food and drinks were excellent, the milkshake was great, the rose lemonade with cotton candy was a dream, very good value for money, there is also parking at the back, very friendly and courteous staff

The waffles are really tasty and crispy, but it's a shame that the staff is really bad! No customer service at all, they all look like they hate their lives. If this were to change it would really improve this place enormously because this is something you remember when you leave. Work on this!!!

Today, it was very hot, we ran out of water so we asked water. They usually give but today they said as per policy they don't give water and we had to hear rude behaviour, "no means no". Not just here every **** shop does the same ****. Looks like we need bring our own water to eat, what a joke.

Always delicious desserts and good coffee. The San Sebastian is a classic. Often very busy on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings, so you certainly won't always get a seat, but a lot of respect for the patience of employees! They try to do their best and keep going with a smile while 20 people sometimes ask a lot of them, sometimes a bit rudely and impatiently. I have been a regular here for a long time and I will be back again soon. Highly recommended for anyone who has a sweet craving :)

Terrible arrogant staff, not customer friendly. Don't know how to deal with high workload and almost blame customers for their problems. Can sometimes stare at you for a long time and intimidatingly. If you want to order something, they pretend not to see you and keep walking. I don't recommend this place. The quality of food/desserts has also deteriorated considerably.

I tried the San Sebastián cheesecake with white chocolate, i found it very delicious and melty. It is a bit heavy maybe because it was after dinner dessert. The atmosphere is very joyful and service is friendly. Planning to come again and try all different dessert.

Constructive criticism. I don't like bad reviews but it's really annoying when a place says they're open until 1am. Then you drive there 5 for 1 to perhaps take home with you, but they say “checkout already closed”🙅🏽‍♂️ . We also tried to call a few times in advance, but unfortunately they didn't answer. Then set the end time to 00:45. Then people won't just drive there.

Last time I ordered an ice latte, I got ice cappuccino from an Albert Heijn ready-made pack poured into a cup with ice cubes and then 5 euros. That's easy money to make. Very unfortunate that this is being done

Had a crepe and a mocktail here on the terrace yesterday. The food was very good and tasty but the service is really bad here. It took a long time before people came to you and you really had to ask yourself whether you can have a menu. I understand that it is busy, but it seemed as if the service was walking around with a headless chicken. There was also a discussion on the terrace about their service and the waitress herself also discussed with the customer even though they themselves are not fast enough.

If we want something tasty, we always get takeaway here. The San Sebastian with chocolate sauce is really delicious! Just like the waffles and crepes that they make fresh there. It is very nicely decorated inside, a really nice place. We like coming here.

I went a few times last week and I think it was very absurd. I ordered a waffle with white chocolate banana and Oreo and I then got milk, strawberries and Oreo. Waffle was not what I ordered at all. Then I asked for the manager and then I got a lady. called Hatice and started ranting about how it was my own fault, while the sheet clearly stated everything I wanted.
