Exceptional location, excellent beers, decent food

Terrible! For the first time in my life I had to pay before eating! They said I had to pay in advance to be served! We chose soups/starters and main courses. Everything came at the same time, they said they couldn't keep the plates in the kitchen while we ate the soup - unbelievable!! I do not recommend it!

Very bad experience to be honest First of all, the waiter took our order and next thing came with the atm to charge for the dinner before serving. Then, we asked for starters and mains and they brought everything at the same time. The table had no space at all, and the waiters did not seem worried at all. We had to hand them the plates that came below the soup and put glasses on top of starters' plates to fit everything. The final ridiculous take was: we asked for a tea which we drank, and after it, we asked for another cup of hot water to which they replied they had to charge for another tea! An overall miserable experience. I would highly recommend not to go.

Terrible experience!! It was the first time in my life I was charged for the entire dinner before eating! We chose our dishes and the waiter said we had to pay in advance. We chose appetizers/soups and main courses. And we paid €144.50 upfront for them to serve us. Unbelievably, everything (appetizers, soups, and main courses) arrived at the same time on our small table. We complained and they said it had to be that way because the kitchen was closing. We asked why they hadn't kept the main courses in the kitchen while we ate the soup... no answer. We had to eat with 8 plates stacked on top of each other, with no space and almost falling over. Never again!

Bad experience! After some difficulty getting the staff's attention, we placed our order. They charged us for everything as soon as we asked.... After waiting, the staff brought the soups, appetizers, main courses, and drinks, all at the same time, a complete lack of consideration. We had to put glasses inside the plates and eat the soups in a hurry. Instead of apologizing and making amends, the gentleman who served us started saying that the kitchen was closed and there was nothing to be done.... A disgrace, very poorly served. I won't be back, and I hope you don't either.

Poor service, tasteless food, tourist trap.

The food was actually pretty majestic, but lacking in criteria of service and not much of an overall vibe to my dine. If you are looking for something anywhere near deserving, I would not recommend this place.

Cola Zero is Pepsi Max and you have to pay immediately after ordering.

The most rude bartender ever - my friend accidentally took the wrong glass and got harassed and lectured (we had bought drinks from him prior so we were customers) for 5 minutes before sending me out - the atmosphere was poor as well

I came to spend an enjoyable evening and asked for tap water only to be verbally harassed by the bartender - we were curious about where to pour tap water before being shouted at.

They couldn't deliver the ordered beer, came with 3 guys aggressively begging for an extra 1 euro!?!? Almost escalated into a fight Avoid that place!

Le Pub is a fantastic place to end the day with a great meal and a welcoming vibe! The food quality was excellent, especially for a dinner setting, and everything felt very fresh. I was really pleased with the atmosphere; it’s cozy yet lively, making it perfect for relaxing with friends. The service was top-notch—friendly, efficient, and made us feel right at home from the start. If you're looking for a solid dining experience with great energy in Amsterdam, this is a top choice. Five stars all around!

The tiniest cocktails and glasses in the world for 12€

We were a group of 7 and the lady who served us—I thought it was ‘Nadine’—is a truly top-notch waitress! What amazing service; patient, fun, and respectful. The whole group enjoyed her; she was fantastic!

Waitress was definitely not meant to be in restaurant industry, the worst customer service ever. Prices also too high. When we asked about the price of water, we just got really vague answers which seemed she just charged whatever she wanted.

Lovely terrace on Leidseplein. Friendly service and tasty snacks at reasonable prices. Nice cafe. It's a great place to sit.

One of the very best places to eat in Amsterdam before or after venturing into the city. Excellent service, pleasant staff (especially Nadine who served our part) & good quality food - would recommend Le Pub to anyone.

The bar is great, with friendly service and a great menu! We had the private area, "The Hidden Bar," perfect for parties, lunch/dinner, and birthdays!

Pub/bar in the beautiful Leidsplein. Plenty of outdoor tables and an interior on two levels. A quaint and charming place. We sat upstairs overlooking the square. Service was friendly and fairly quick, even though it was after 2:00 PM. The burgers were good, as were the English breakfasts; perhaps I would have added a little more toast. Still, it was nice and welcoming. ;)

Unfriendly service, beer not spilled properly.. High in price. Just a touristic place.

Accidents happen, but last night while bringing my wine, the waiter dropped the glass as she was placing it on the table, and all the wine spilled on me — I basically took a bath in wine. The glass shattered, and the broken glass pierced my shoe, ruining my brand-new sneakers. The waitress apologized repeatedly, and I kept saying “okay, okay, no problem.” But I expected they wouldn’t charge me, or at least give me a discount. Instead, they shamelessly brought me the full bill as if nothing had happened. I think it’s a terrible place — don’t ever go there.

Great location for a beer and to watch the world pass by. The service is a bit slow, however the burger was amazing. I totally did not expect this. The place has a great view and chairs oriented outwards. Good place for people watching.

I would like to recommend this place as one of the most happpening and vibrant place in the centre of Leidseplein. On my recent visit I went straight from the airport carrying my handbag and the waiter named alistar was extremely helpful and allow me to keep the bag in their storage and I can happily stroll around the area because of that.

What a disappointment. I hadn't even finished my lunch or order when a waitress hit me in the head. Glass broke on my neck, abrasion, clothes dirty. Accidents can happen, but how this “company” deals with them is below par. The so-called “manager” came over, literally laughed at me and rescinded his own offer for a drink saying, “it was an accident.” This even though I hadn't ordered anything yet! When I went to tell the real manager, I was told that she had heard a different story and therefore did nothing for me. No excuses, no responsibility, no compensation whatsoever. Only contempt and rude behavior. This is the kind of catering industry where you as a customer are treated dirty. Unsafe, disrespectful and completely customer unfriendly. The negative reviews are therefore more than justified. Save yourself the misery and DO NOT go here.

Been waiting 50 minutes for a beer

Nice location and nice terrace. We had a selection of small bites, really not great, low-end supermarket quality. The service is non-existent and the restrooms... Best to avoid visiting them.

Relaxing place with excellent coctails!

we went here quite late at night - the weird combined seating with the neighbouring establishment was perplexing to say the least, we were unable to get a drink at times for up the 35 mins, which is ridiculous considering it was quickly approaching closing time. the staff however were kind and respectful and thus i cannot be too mad. except i paid €24 for 4 baby guinesses so in fact i am quite mad

The manager very rude!! I forgot a bag with 2 new t shirts at 23:00 I came back at 01:00 and it’s was close . Also this day it wasn’t busy.. because it was raining… the other day I came in the morning and ask about it at 10.. they told me come at afternoon and manager will see the cameras.. at afternoon the manager or Barman I don’t know who was say that they don’t have cameras.. so funny we know that everybody in leidslplein have and the funny also is that in morning they have but in afternoon no.. all the le pub worth 80€ like the tshirts.. from now and then no one euro ..

Avoid! This is definitely not the place for lunch! Just have a drink; the place is lively, but don't expect great food.

English guy taking orders asked if we could pay for the table, asked inside and he also indicated that we had to pay for the table. Manager not present, asked 3 staff members and indicated that their were managers. RIDICULOUS

The worst food I have ever tasted. I have never asked for a meal to be returned. When I asked for the meal to be returned, the kitchen was closed. I had to eat alongside my friend, and so choose to continue eating these "nachos". Minimal meat, the consistency dry. Cheese over cooked and mostly stuck to the plate. The guacamole was a brownish colour and therefore not fresh. I asked for a wine in compensation - to wash down the dryness. Staff also refused that. I wasn't going to give them anymore of my money.

Wanted to sit quietly runner said if we had to pay money otherwise we had to leave on Saturday. Bartender with bald head disrespectful to women, when we came to report for bribery he said that they runner was right and otherwise had to leave. Never come back. GET SOME RESPECT FOR WOMEN!!!

Last night I went to this place with a few of my good friends, after we ordered a few drinks, a worker sent us out of the restaurant for no reason. We told the owner that we just wanted to enjoy a nice drink but we got a screaming worker instead. We payed for all our drinks and weren't even able to finish them. Worst place I have experienced in Amsterdam.

Very disappointing experience and unprofessional staff We were initially addressed because the waiter thought we were not seated properly. We then politely adjusted ourselves and remained polite. However, the situation escalated completely without reason: the waiter became very angry, cursed at us and even called security to send us away. We later tried to discuss it calmly with the manager, but he sided with his colleague without further explanation - which we can understand to a certain extent, but found unfortunate. We did not misbehave or behave disrespectfully at any time, and yet we were treated that way. This was without a doubt the worst service we have ever experienced.

We were having a drink and were suddenly sent away because we were asked once to move our chairs, which we did, after which it was no longer possible to talk to the staff and we were told to leave, which is unacceptable.

What a mess, the staff calls you a faggot and throws you off the terrace for no reason, here you are treated like shit and you notice that the customer is not always king

You are sent away if you are asked once to move your chair and when you do this they act as if you have not put any effort into moving your chair, then they say that they don't give a damn and then they call security and send you away anyway

Awful service. I asked to be seated and asked if main dishes are served yet because I came around 2 pm. They said yes. I got seated by myself because no one took me to my seat. I asked for mussels, they said “ we don’t have it yet” I asked “when will you have it” they said “whenever”. I find this service very rude and unprofessional.

We weren't expecting much, but we were still disappointed. We ordered Caesar salad and nachos. The salad was completely different than expected. It wasn't bad at first, but the taste was terrible (and not a feast for the eyes either). The nachos were very salty and made us thirsty. We were reluctant to drink anything because the glasses smelled a bit. There were three of us, and no one could finish our meals. For a €17 salad, we should have expected more. The waitress seemed very nice at first, but she ignored us even after she saw that none of us had even eaten half. Conclusion: We wouldn't go back.

Pub/restaurant always very crowded because it is in a strategic point and when you pass in front of it you can't help but stop. Whether for a drink, a coffee, an aperitif or a meal, you can always find the place. Quality beer and very well cooked and abundant food. The 200 gr steak is truly excellent. Perfectly cooked, tasty and very tender!!! Recommended place!

Definitely not recommended. Real tourist rip-offs. Ordered a "cocktail" for 11 euros and got about 50ml in a mini glass. They should be ashamed of themselves. Avoid at all costs.

“What do you want?” That’s how I was welcomed to the bar. It took 10 minutes just to place my order. I got the beer fairly quickly, but I watched the entire halftime of a football match—and still no burger. Turns out, the waiter had forgotten my order. I finally got my burger an hour after ordering. But the overly salty taste made me regret even reminding him in the first place.

We stopped randomly, very warm welcome and we ate well. An excellent Cesaer salad and a very, very good apple pie. Installed on a terrace, in the shade, with the tram passing nearby without any noise pollution. We pay as we go, aperitif, main course, dessert. I don't know what the inside is like. I recommend this pub.

Very, very delicious coffee, a bit strong with a good crema and a balanced roasted aroma! It's a wonderful place to sit outside. The service is friendly and quite quick. You pay immediately when you get your drinks.

A well placed restaurant in the city. Lovely outdoor area with heaters. Service was great and friendly. They even let me use the lift to gain access to the toilets as I'm on crutches. We have had 4 different meals here and all were well cooked and very tasty. Although the fish did taste a little of the bitten balls.(Curry), maybe use a single frier for those? Overall a great experience. We would recommend

What a drama. Rarely have I experienced such disinterested service. Holy shit. The toilets were too dirty to use. The bucket of pitch black water with a mop in it said it all. Left again quickly. Too bad.

The food is always very tasty. Just a pity that the boy who was serving on the terrace completely ignored us. It wasn't busy there were only a few tables otherwise I wouldn't have blamed him but this was just rude.

I have nothing to say about the quality of the drinks there because we only had 2ice tea's and a coffe...which is pretty much impossible to screw up soo this review is just about thier service.
