I had a very disappointing experience at this place. I came in hoping to enjoy a good tiramisu, especially since it’s located near the central station and convenient for my way home. Given the number of Italians and Mediterranean people around, I expected something authentic. When the server brought my tiramisu, I was immediately skeptical. It was served on an oversized plate with the corners filled with slagroom (whipped cream) to make up for the emptiness of the dish. The tiramisu itself was drowning in chocolate and topped with even more slagroom. When I scraped off the excess, I realized the actual size of the tiramisu, without exaggeration, was barely 3×7 cm². But if that were the only issue, I wouldn’t even bother writing this review. The real problem? It wasn’t a tiramisu at all. They might as well call it something else, but definitely not tiramisu. Instead of being soaked in coffee, the French cat tongue biscuits were drenched in an overly sweet syrup, making the dessert unbearably sugary, especially combined with the excess chocolate on top. The best part of a tiramisu, the mascarpone cream, was completely missing. In short, this dessert could be anything except tiramisu. I barely managed to take two small bites before stopping. I could immediately feel a sugar rush. It was way too sweet. I called the server to express my concerns, but in the end, I still had to pay for something that neither tasted good nor resembled what I ordered. A complete disappointment, I felt like I had been scammed. I’ve had much better tiramisus in the center, even at lower prices. One place I highly recommend is Volare: Volare on Google Maps. It has a great vibe, good drinks, and delicious dessert, plus excellent food options.

I had breakfast with my wife and it was amazing! I took a pancake that was freshly made and spectacular look and taste, she took English breakfast and also was super. The guys working there are so nice. Next time in Amsterdam I'll come again.

Initially, the entertaining waiters served us a sadly undrinkable, body-warm Chardonnay for €9 a glass. Upon request, we were given ice, which unfortunately failed to dispel the pronounced acidity and a certain bitterness. We politely asked the waiter if we could have a different wine, or if the bottle had perhaps been open for a while. Any friendliness vanished, and our request was met with a "different taste."

Food was amazing - lasagna & salmon were fabulous - so good we didn’t take time to take pics - too hungry - sorry. - service was sloooow

A real surprise! I wasn’t sure what to expect being right on the square, but the food was really good, service was friendly, and the square…. Just remember it’s busy. But I really enjoyed the Bacon Benedict, and the pancakes were great too!

Poor. Lady serving us knocked the orange juice all over me. No apology and then wanted to argue that she didn’t do it. And that I indeed spilt it on myself!! Had to argue to ask her to remove it from the bill. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

The welcome is friendly, but it is scandalous that customers have to pay to go to the toilet. This was not the case in the morning and in the afternoon we had to pay one euro per person. The rules have changed in the meantime 🤬

I was a group of people and they ordered two of the whole group and kicked us out because we didn't all order. I have never experienced worse service!!!!

We came across this bar by chance one evening for an aperitif. So well received and fun atmosphere with very nice music as we like....we went back the next evening for dinner. The waiters recognized us and greeted us!! We had a great time. Small downside, prices a little high (€10 a beer) but worth the detour.

If you like soggy pizza and loud , obnoxious staff then this is the place to go! One particular guy who shouts across the restaurant and was quite rude. It's extremely off putting when you are having a quiet meal and the waiter is power walking around, making silly gestures and shouting really loudly, drinks slammed down on the table to us. Came across very bizarre behaviour and we couldn't wait to get out of there. Pizza base was so thin when you pulled off a slice, it just flopped and the toppings fell off . Base was also very soggy, like the plate had been a little wet when the pizza was put on it or something. It's a shame because interior is nice but that's the only positive I have about it I'm afraid.

For two half roses that were not tasty, the main price was €17.00, pffff, that's bad

A superb address!!! With incredible decor, a very nice team and really good dishes (a little high in our opinion though..), but we had a great time with my brother, we will come back and recommend it!

Not a clean restaurant. Lots of stains on the upholstery. The food was far too little for the prices and it wasn't particularly special either. A waiter was just pacing and nibbling his fingers and sticking his hand in his underpants, just looking at himself in the mirror. Absolutely not recommended…

Disgusting French breakfast restaurant, rotten fruit, sloppy presentation, it looks like they took leftovers from another plate! I STRONGLY RECOMMEND NOT!

Popped in on the off chance and unfortunately wouldn’t return! Hot chocolate was like warm, we ordered x2 bacon Benedict at first presentation looked good but both eggs were over cooked and bacon and the toast was all rock hard! My partner said it was swimming in sauce! Didn’t feel a welcoming place.

Visited here at Zou Lou's Boudoir on a Saturday morning after looking for somewhere reasonably priced to eat. I was hesitant to try here at first but was immediately impressed by the large interior which was very stylish and well presented inside. This turned out to be a great setting for morning breakfast. The service was great from the moment of entering and we did not have to wait long for food to be delivered and the staff were friendly and welcoming. I had the English breakfast which I couldn’t fault, it tasted great and was filling. My partner also enjoyed her food here. If you are passing by and looking for a good overall breakfast experience then I would definitely recommend trying here for food or even a coffee and watch the people of Amsterdam pass you by

Disastrous service, misunderstandings. The alcohol in the cocktail was probably out, or would have cost an additional €15. Annoying boss, loud, stupid. Baseball bats behind the bar, for what? The mixer is crazy loud. Not a nice atmosphere

Great location, right next to the main train station. The food was really good for us, but the other guests' food also looked great. The service staff spread a good atmosphere. Can really recommend this, go there! :)

This is a stylish restaurant with reasonable prices and enough food options to choose from. The waiters have a fun sociable service which makes the atmosphere there pleasant. I ordered the ‘English Breakfast’ which taste wise was good but wished the beans were presented separately from the eggs and sausage instead of stacked up on each other. I think with how nice the interior looks, the way that a restaurant’s food is presented should as well and it wasn’t. Overall this is a good place for a dose of good vibes whether it’s breakfast, lunch or dinner but also a good safe option for dates and casual dinner

Nice place and friendly staff! Food was not tasty. Poor quality rib eye. The meat smelled. The risotto with scampi only had 1 scampi on it.. The glasses were full of limescale from the dishwasher.

We had dinner here last Saturday with a friend's birthday and the food was excellent and the drinks too. [very pricey]. We wanted to surprise our girlfriend with a firework or something. We had indicated to the waiter that it was her birthday and if they wanted to do something [some singing]. then the lights went out and the waiter came with some fireworks and a plate with a triple pancake with ice cream and chocolate on it. We already had lunch so we didn't eat it all. we assumed that this was a favor and would not cost us any money because we never asked for more food. [we also work in the catering industry ourselves, so we know how birthdays normally go]. but to our surprise the pancake was on the bill. This dessert cost 30 euros that we never asked for. we asked about it and the English service could only say 'we do that here'. We just paid and left, but what a ballet place this is. just force someone to pay 30 euros for a dessert. besides the already overpriced food and drinks, what a scam!

A beautiful atmosphere with the DJ and the waiters who set the mood. We had a lot of fun. However, price-quality not justified. Sparsely garnished pizzas, bland carbonara. A friend had to pay for all the food and drinks (so for 10 people). The next day when looking at the receipt, surprise! Prices higher than the card (be careful of the price of water).

Everything was delicious and the service was friendly and created a good atmosphere. The English breakfast is very tasty. When I'm in Amsterdam again I will definitely come back. 🙃

Without a doubt, one of the best experiences we had from this place was the customer service from Oihan, a very attentive, helpful and, above all, very outgoing and dynamic waiter. shows and laughter before a good breakfast, an ideal way to start exploring the charms of Amsterdam. It's bullshit.... Waiting too long for the dishes, poor value for money, table dirty and too narrow,.... Pasta arrabiata just a watery, bland tomato sauce. Pasta carbonara = Carbo pasta soup Kisses !!

the food is good, we spent New Year's Eve there spontaneously. We arrived earlier before the party started and had dinner. We had to ask about 5 times where our drinks were, we were already finished eating. In the end the waitress told me to go to the bar myself. I went with the bill and the barista said that actually the waiters should bring the drink, he also didn't understand why I had to get a drink that I had ordered and already paid for before the party. A bit unfair that we also had to pay for the restroom (I was earlier there and didn't have to pay for the restroom, but okay). The waitress said that as guests already here, we didn't have to pay (??) but we had to. It was only 1€ no big deal, but when my friend went shortl after me & the restroom attendant who worked there said 2€. not okay!

This place was incredible. Food was well priced, the service was impeccable but the best part was the atmosphere. Loko was our server, he made sure we never had an empty drink, all of them were super friendly, the music was so good the entire place was dancing in their chairs whilst eating their food. For the football fans the games are on the TV's and the servers would pull people up to dance. It was a golden find.

RUN away!!! Terrible cuisine + super expensive €80 for 1 risotto, 1 pizza and 2 drinks. And what's more, we were ejected because the terrace was going to close, I didn't even finish my dish

Super beautiful bar/restaurant, a very pleasant atmosphere, smiling, singing and dancing waiters, fair prices... If I had to recommend a place it's definitely this one! And what's more, it's the only place where you'll get smiles from waiters all over town!

I cannot recommend this club at all. From the moment you step in, you feel anything but welcome. The atmosphere is unfriendly, and it seems like they only see you as a paying customer, not as a guest. Entrance fee: €30 – completely overpriced for what you get. But the biggest rip-off is that you have to pay €3 every single time you use the restroom. This is just outrageous. Another major issue is the fraudulent practices: I ordered a beer, which was listed as €6 on the menu. However, when I paid with my card, I found out they charged me €20. No explanation or apology was given. Overall, a very bad experience. Be careful if you decide to visit this club, or better yet, avoid it altogether. Definitely not recommended!

Non-existent service just thinks about putting on a show and forgets about his customers we receive the dishes we have no cover and an error in the order in addition to his 5th the transparent coke and he dares to tell me that it's normal tourist trap restaurant

Nice little place to relax with friends, but unfortunately not known for their cuisine. And it's quite expensive. The atmosphere is festive and the servers are warm and friendly.

The atmosphere is good, but the food is very basic, the burger is nothing different from the basics, Fetutuno… terrible, Resoto… just the name. But if you come to Amsterdam it is worth trying a little bit of everything.

Very unrespectful , food was late and not how we ordered. Not Recommended at all.... !!!!!! I asked a simple question after waiting 40 minutes that please can you check how long will it take more for the food. The answer was surprisingly Bitterful, He Said * " This is not mcdonals , you might have to wait more than 1 hour for breakfast to come" *

Fish and Fish expensive for something frozen.

The staff were so rude , I asked one of the waiters about the water he ignored me then when I remind him he said , yes someone will bring the water and he just left . I was waiting for 20 minutes no one come then I send my son 9 years old to tell them we need water , 😮 they gave him the water bottle and two glasses to bring it to the the table . Then , we asked them that we want the pizza take away because we couldn’t finish it at the restaurant , they ignored me again then I send my son and they gave him the box . I think the staff should get training to know how to deal with customers.

The clerk's attitude is good. I also thought that not only was he in a good mood, but he was paying close attention to me. (I don't know, maybe it was because the store was empty) The food is not cheap compared to tourist areas, but I ordered Bitterboren (normal), which is like a bite-sized croquette, to share with a friend and a hamburger and a beer. delicious. 71€ expensive for 2 people! (I'm a college student) Tourist price! lol The store is spacious, with sofa seats, table seats, and even outside the entrance. I came in around 7pm, and although it was Sunday, the inside of the store was empty and the outside was full. The toilet is shared, but I used it around 8pm and it was clean! Well, you can eat at tourist spots for about a day, but I don't think you'll use it on a daily basis. However, the inside of the store is comfortable, with sofas and a TV broadcasting the Olympics, so you can relax. Is it safe for children to sit on the sofa? Also, the toilet is okay.

I visited this restaurant on 12/12 and it was very disappointing. No wardrobe or coat racks. Upon entering there was nowhere to hang my coat. When ordering grilled salmon we asked if we could have this with sweet potatoes. The waitress said: “No, you need fries for the grilled salmon or not”, as it is included in the price. Later it turned out that the fries were simply included separately on the bill. This is misleading and was very frustrating for me. Of the two staff members I spoke to, none spoke Dutch. This is unacceptable for a restaurant in the Netherlands.

Absolutley awful! We were sat quickly and soft drinks arrived quickly, however put in the corner and promptly forgotten about! Had to get the waitresses attention after they had seated and served someone after we came in! Ordered pasta bol and carabanara and garlic bread with cheese to come out together. It was 4.30 pm there was hardly anyone in....waited half hour...garlic bread arrived with no cheese, 20 mins later pasta came out. The garlic bread was cold, pasta bolognaose was ok however the pasta carabanara was awfull! It was basically made with salty cheese! Bill came charged us 2.50 for the cheese that didjt come on the garlic bread, complained and said the carbonara was awfull so they took off one of the soft drinks! Didn't ask once how we were didn't apologise for the poor service and didn't know what to say when I complained about the food! Horrendous place AVOID!

Finally found vegan pancakes in Amsterdam...very delicious and too filling..the caprese sandwich was also good..

Super nice address for lunch! Lunch was good and the dinner menu also looked delicious. Atmosphere was really great! The staff danced along to the Spanish music that was played on the terrace. Definitely come here again!

L endroit est sympa mais les serveuses ne commandent pas ce que vous demandez : nous avons commandé 2 bières affichées sur la carte à 6,5€ et elles nous ont apporté 2 bières dans des verres. Au moment de l addition, nous remarquons que les bières nous sont facturées 2 € de plus sur la carte. Lorsque nous demandons des explications, elles nous disent que les bières ont été servies dans des verres et non dans des bouteilles. Une arnaque à touristes !!!

Appalling service. Terrible food. Waited 30mins for a cold plate of english breakfast of untoasted bread, overcooked eggs, extremely greasy bacon and no beans at all. They also refused to let us split the bill because apparently it takes too long to divide a nunber by 2.

Really nice location with one really nice waiters. The energy of this guy (i think he is spanish) is really vibing… but although you wait at table at least 10 min that they come and ask you what would you like to drink, and waitresses are not really nice everything seems to much for them.

Don't expect to find a French-style hamburger

Came to Amsterdam on a hen night. There was 9 of us. We all chose zou lous as we had heard good things about this place and they were offering the gold tomahawk steak at £245 each (the brides choice) you only get married once right? we decided to have breakfast to see the quality of the food first. The coffee was cold and our breakfast was also stone cold they took the eggs back 3 times as I said I didn't like runny yolks they came back broke, runny and cold every time. There were items missing off the breakfast we ordered too. We asked for separate bills which they agreed to but when I came to paying they refused to separate the bills. Very disapointed we canceled the evening booking as no one was willing to take the chance on paying £245 for a cold a steak and terrible service.

Central place with terrace and good view. The breakfast was quite good and very tasty. Service also was nice. We enjoyed our stay and it was not annoying or anything else..

we found this gem last night..enjoyed it so much we came back tonight. prices for the super quality food were reasonable..service was excellent..I think every wait staff checked on us..music was loud and enjoyable..what we listened to in the 70 80s. we had their monthly drink port star martini...both nights...delusions.. my husband and I ordered lasagna first night...best I have tasted and yes we have authentic Italian in my home town...but it's more expensive at home...I ordered lasagna again my husband ordered shrimp pasta and loved it...our two friends loved their meals as well. if I make it back to Amsterdam I will return here...wait staff were so friendly...thank you for the great memories

A surprising gem on this busy touristy street. Really good service and the food was delicious. We had two of the sandwiches and the bread and ingredients were top quality. Sitting outside watching the world pass by, I could have sat there all afternoon.

A nice place, the food is good. And the location is excellent. The service is a drama. Want to entertain, but forget to serve the guests. Setting off fireworks yourself in a restaurant is ridiculous. The bill was wrong, serving the right drinks was too difficult. And the mints with the bill are thrown across the table. This restaurant, which looks very professional and atmospheric, now needs to find the right service.

The food was ok, service and atmosphere was amazing! We celebrated friends birthday, asked staff to prepare "cake and candle". However we received full program with fireworks, dances (also on the tables), animators, etc. I don't want to spoil too much if you're going for the same:) I must say it was the best dinner during our visit. One photo I will add, hope I will not spoil too much with it :)

The service is litteraly 0. Our order arrived too late (1h30 later). Same problem for table beside us and the waitress was so angry and rude. And just above the kitchen there was water dropping from the seiling. The pancake is not delicious at all and not as expected. I don't recommend at all.

Food itself was okay, but was very overpriced. Service was not great, and music was so loud you would think it was a club and not a restaurant. Definitely a tourist trap, I'd avoid.

Very nice place near the central station managed by partly Italian staff, all very nice, and extremely kind and helpful. Good quality food, the pizza is also good. Prices normal.
