I ordered chicken satay teriyaki for €15.75. But what I got were two small, dry chicken skewers with a little lettuce on the side. I had to order fries on the side because the waitress already said it would be too little as a meal. Incidentally, that was the only thing edible. When I brought it up, I was not offered any compensation. Very disappointing, because the waitress seemed to agree with me.

Have had to wait a long time for service multiple times, and the last time the order was refused more than half an hour before closing time. Will not try it again.

The food is good, but the staff have no work ethic. They stand huddled together and do not walk across the terrace. It took half an hour before someone came to take our order, but we still didn't have a lunch menu. In the end, we sat for more than 2 hours for a simple lunch. We also had to ask for it twice to pay. In between, we heard many disappointed customers. The staff then get into an argument with the customer instead of apologizing for the long wait. This is the last time for us.

Once, never again! On Monday, August 10th, I ate a chicken satay. 2 small skewers and some greens, that was it. No satay sauce, fries, or baguette. For the price of: €15.75 each. A scandalous price! Old crockery and cutlery, dirty tables. You can't just pay inside either: grumpy, walk back to your table, payment is only possible there.... The location is nice, but so is the entire quay along the IJssel.

It is such a terrible shame that such a beautiful location is managed so poorly. The location is truly fantastic, but unfortunately, little seems to be done to actually make it a pleasant experience. In my opinion, the areas next to the water slide where children can play are a particularly missed opportunity. These are almost always closed, without any clear explanation. Even when the terrace is full, the decision is made not to open these spots. It is a real pity, because it is precisely from there that you could keep a close eye on your children while you sit on the terrace yourself. The staff also falls far short. The service is slow, unfriendly, and absolutely does not give the impression that they enjoy their work. When you ask a question about the food or where to sit, you either get no clear answer or a very rude response. That certainly doesn't improve the experience. And then the food… unfortunately, that is also nothing more than okay. We had two carpaccios that were tasteless and noticeably grey instead of a beautiful red color. Additionally, we had a bavette that was extremely tough and lukewarm. Subsequently, we had to wait well over an hour for this as well, while there were only three other guests sitting on the terrace next to us. As far as I'm concerned, that is truly inexplicable. The fries were at least good, but if that is the best there is to say about your establishment, something is going wrong in the kitchen (unless it is a chip shop, of course). I have visited this restaurant about five times by now, and honestly, "okay" has been the best I could get every time. The location deserves so much better, but as long as the service, organization, and quality remain so substandard, I won't be coming back here anytime soon. It's a shame, because with such a beautiful spot by the water, this could actually be a fantastic place. Perhaps "Oké aan de IJssel" would be a more honest name.

We arrived to have a quick drink at 20:38 to be precise. Closing time is 21:00. We were turned away because they were closing early. A very strange way of doing business. We won't be coming here again.

Few ice cream flavors, but of good quality and taste. However, the smallest scoop ever is served for €2.00 - one big bite and gone... Not recommended due to the extremely stingy portion.

Two weeks ago, the kitchen was already closed at 7 pm. Tonight, at 8 pm, there was a chain with a sign hanging and the terrace was already closed. How is that possible? Such a beautiful location, such a new restaurant. Doesn't feel very welcoming… Zutphen

Been there a number of times. It was always fine, even with special requests. Had lunch today with 4 people; the music was very loud, and they were all new, young girls who are still really figuring things out. (Maybe arrange for someone to provide guidance?). And when asked if it was possible to order a croquette with fries? No, that’s not possible because then we don’t know how to pay for it. Too bad, it lacks flexibility, but also a guiding force.

We ended up here last night via the website; the site looks very friendly and inviting. We arrived and waited politely for a while, but no one came over to help, so in the end we just sat down ourselves. There is really nothing to complain about regarding the food, it was very tasty, but friendliness and hospitality are nowhere to be found; it really lacks atmosphere. Even a waitress did her best, but it wasn't good enough, and she was told that in a rather unpleasant way on the terrace—poor girl.

Cozy little restaurant with a view of the IJssel and the railway bridge at Zutphen station. We had a delicious meal and drinks, and there was a restroom and an outdoor terrace where we could sit under a parasol and enjoy the beautiful view over the IJssel. There was also a small playground for children with water features and play equipment. Highly recommended for a visit, whether for eating or dining with a group of business people.

Top location!!! Our favorite spot after a week of hard work. It's a shame it takes a long time to get the drinks on the table, and a beer should be cold, not lukewarm, especially considering the price of drinks these days. Last year you got prawn crackers with the satay, but we didn't find them this year. The cookie box with the coffee is 👌.

To visit beautiful Zutphen, we first wanted to have a nice lunch somewhere. The restaurant's location on the IJssel river is inviting for a pleasant sit-down. However, the staff didn't seem to have much enthusiasm for serving us. Eventually, we were served, but not wholeheartedly. Whether we were seated or not didn't seem to matter much to them. We ordered coffee first: it comes with a closed cookie tin that is impossible to open normally. A fun start! And the coffee: is that from a Senseo machine? Next, a carpaccio with salad. The waiter who helped us eventually thawed out a bit, but the atmosphere remains unpleasant. The quality of both the meat and the vegetables was mediocre: just barely not old, but definitely not fresh either, and the taste reflects that. Given the price, everything is well below par, and the unpleasant atmosphere, which is a major factor, certainly doesn't do the whole experience any good.

You order a ginger tea, but you had to search for the ginger; it tasted more like water than ginger.

It is a very nice little place by the IJssel. However, there are two things that stood out to us. There are few shady spots, especially if you are with a group of more than four people. We ordered fries with mayonnaise, but that was a bit disappointing. The fries were delicious, but we received relatively little sauce. The same goes for the bread board. Otherwise, it is a very nice little place with a beautiful view.

The ambiance is very nice with a view of the Ijssel river. The price/performance ratio of the dishes offered is quite high, considering the location.

We found it messy; one time coffee in a bowl, the next in a glass. Gave a mediocre impression. Staff not capable of handling the crowds.

We did not get anything to eat as the kitchen closes at 19.00.... During summer the sun closes much later and customers drink more and eat later. The owner does not understand...

The food was tasty, but it took a long time before you could order food. And the times on the internet and at the counter are incorrect; early in the evening around 5:00 PM we were told that the kitchen was closed and other people could no longer take a seat on the terrace either, a bit strange.

In our opinion, the price-quality ratio of the food was above average. We found it very expensive. It is a cozy little place by the IJssel, though.

We have been to this place three times now and have been disappointed every single time. Each time, we had to wait a long time before we could order a drink, even though it wasn't busy. We deliberately do not order food here, because even the drinks are disappointing. For instance, we ordered a cappuccino with oat milk, but it tasted more like English tea with too much milk: no foam and very weak. The waitress tried to remake it, but that didn't work either. Fortunately, we didn't have to pay for it. But if the coffee isn't good, what does that say about the rest? Additionally, the table and cushions were dirty. There is simply a lack of someone here with passion for this beautiful place.

It's a mixed bag: enjoying the first rays of sunshine and relaxing by the IJssel River. But... you order ginger tea and receive a cup that's been in the dishwasher far too often. It doesn't look appealing or inviting. It's also a bit sticky. The entire presentation is poor. Not made with love. A missed opportunity and little passion for your business.

The plates are dirty, and when you ask for a new plate, you get another dirty plate. They put the cutlery on the table, but there weren't enough for everyone. The soup wasn't tasty and looked like it came from Albert Heijn. There were fingerprints on some of the thin pieces of fudge. The toilet paper was dirty, and the floor was filthy. They weren't pastries, but tiny pieces of cake that Max could easily bite into. There were unappetizing lumps of cake lying around, which also had fingerprints on them. They didn't have enough plates, so you got a different plate than the others. For high tea, there was no container for the used tea bags. The cookie tin was empty when we got it. The drinks we ordered arrived so late that we had already ordered new ones. Multiple reminders were sent. There are also 5-star reviews that were copied to retain enough stars. So if you want to see the real reviews, you should look at the 1, 2, and 3 star ratings, because those are from real people. For the money (30 euros) this is not okay and I am disappointed hence the 1 star

We arrived a bit late for lunch, around 3:30 pm, but we were welcomed without any issue. Our order was taken very quickly. The menu is simple and appealing; we only had croquettes and fries, and everything was absolutely delicious. Simple dishes, but extremely well prepared, using fresh products. A real pleasure. Very warm welcome, and a beautiful view with the sunset as a bonus. Highly recommended.

Nice place for coffee. The weather was gloomy here, but in summer you'd probably have a beautiful view of the IJssel River. The cake was delicious, by the way, and the coffee was okay.

We sat down to eat. After a very long wait, someone came to ask if we wanted to order. After even longer, we finally got our drinks and a menu. They have a sort of open kitchen concept, where a young man was pouring drinks on the left. It was scorching hot, and this young man was constantly wiping his sweaty face with his hands and styling his sweaty hair, then constantly grabbing nuts from the storage bin there. If you ordered a snack, you got a handful of sweaty face nuts with it. So incredibly disgusting, and no one said anything. Although they could have, because the staff were more likely to be chatting at the drinks counter than taking orders. To top it all off, the filthy man went to the restroom WITH his phone. With hygiene being such a low priority, you can't imagine us eating here.

We (two people) went there on a Saturday morning. Even though it wasn't really busy, we weren't helped. After fifteen minutes, we decided to leave and find a terrace in town.

Last week we visited Lekker aan de IJssel three times. One day for wine and snacks, once for lunch, and once for dinner. A fantastic location, very friendly, welcoming, and cheerful staff, and the food was excellent. We had a wonderful time, and if we're ever in the area again, we'll definitely be back.

Delicious iced coffee! The only minor drawback is that racing bikes have to be stored (too) far away, out of sight; at the owner's request.

The toasted sandwich had very little pulled chicken on it. Glasses weren't clean, the teaspoons were dirty and brown, as was the lemon pestle in the ideal tea.

What a disgrace. Lunch was just put on the plate without any decoration. It looked awful. Cold and obviously from yesterday. The staff was incompetent and unfriendly. And what a waste of money for this poor quality. Never go back to this restaurant. Oh yeah, and clean your toilet.

Enjoying a glass of wine in such a beautiful spot at the end of the afternoon is, of course, fantastic. The "Cava" on the menu wasn't available, and the "Grüner Veltliner" took ages to arrive. And the requested lemon with the sparkling water wasn't delivered. Luckily, a young waitress came to the rescue. This really has to improve...! In such a beautiful spot, on such a beautiful day, things simply have to run smoothly.

Went here for a drink on a summer evening. It wasn't even finished before someone came by (8:15 PM) or wanted another drink. It was the last round. There were no set closing times. According to the server, the manager decided when they closed. A shame for the group of 11 and 4 people who had come in and wanted a drink. Personally, set closing times seem more practical to me. The drinks were fine. However, several of the chair seats were secured with cable ties.

Yesterday afternoon, my wife and I went to lunch at Lekker aan de IJssel. Beautiful weather, a lovely location, and an excellent menu, including vegetarian options. Unfortunately, it wasn't a pleasant experience. The main course—ravioli with mozzarella for me and the veggie burger for my wife—was barely cold! It was a shame, as it lost most of the flavor. The service, too, left a lot to be desired. I was already halfway through my main course before my glass of wine was finally brought, after having to ask for it repeatedly. I ultimately decided to skip my second glass of wine, as it had been conveniently forgotten. It's a real shame; with a little more attention to detail and serving hot dishes that should be hot, things might have improved. But for us, this was the last time. Giddie Ritzerveld.

The staff was constantly busy with each other and paid little attention to the guests. Normally a pleasant experience, but this time it was a bad one. The carpaccio was also watery. We left after the appetizer and found another restaurant to continue our meal.

The terrace is a lovely spot for a delicious lunch, and there's also a surprising vegetarian option, which is great!

What a disappointment this place was... a long wait for your order to be taken... a long wait for your order to arrive at your table even though it wasn't busy... a clumsily put-together "toastie" with far too little mackerel and a lot of soggy stuff... 3 mini croquettes with bread... the price and quality were completely out of proportion... the studenty waiter simply waved away our comment about the above... ABSOLUTELY DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE.

I've never been here before, so I can't say much about the quality of the food. I can say, however, that the interaction with the often young staff could be a lot better. I've heard several stories now, and I think it's a shame that young people are often exploited or receive completely baseless criticism. Working far too much and being asked to work too much is never good. As a company, you should be protecting your young staff from burnout. It's a shame that little attention is paid to this. I'd say, if you ever eat here, give your waitress a little extra tip. That might even things out a bit. They work (sometimes too) hard, and they deserve it! :)

Not really good value for money. Portions are small (you're meant to take 2-3 per person) but the price was high per portion. Also some dishes have a much larger portion size than others. Nice location and the food was quite alright in terms of taste, but don't be surprised by the high price.

Half portions, whole prices. The place is fantastic, but stick to a drink. We ordered a salad with mozzorela and nuts. Desert plate with lots of green and zero nut. Oh wait, that faint white stuff is slivered almond, it was explained to us. And that for the price of a meal salad.

After a walk through beautiful Zutphen, had lunch here. Great experience, cheerful service. The curry soup and mackerel toast were both well received, although a bit on the high price. There was also a live band playing for the ambiance.

After a long walk from Deventer. Settled down at Lekker aan de IJssel with the dog. We received a warm welcome and our dog a cookie and water. Then enjoyed a beer, salmon tompouce and tunamelt. The dishes were tasty and good portions. Because of the sun, the view of the Ijssel made it complete.

Hans and his team serve a delicious drink and a snack in their own atmosphere at a top location.

The IJssel Borrelplank is surprisingly generous and complete. Recommended.
