Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love this bar, but the way we were treated tonight was terrible. My wife wanted to get some whiskies for us and a couple of friends, as they had a whisky menu, however the whiskies were not priced (in paper or online), and the server poured 4 before charging her 56 euros for the lot. When I suggested calmly that they should write the prices down, the young blond barman immediately became rude and aggressive, saying that 'we should have known whiskies are expensive'. I pointed out that one can get very reasonably priced good whiskies at the Northend (5-8 euros a glass), he claimed that I was lying. When I eventually became upset at his behaviour, he claimed that I was aggressive and kicked me out. Awful response to a genuine request for better information. Otherwise, it is a great bar and I would not suggest people should not go, but this guy needs to understand how to deal with people, and this bar should not look like it is trying to scam people.

Great place to see Dutch Euro 24 matches, lots of cheery crowds, great beers. Food isn't served during screenings but that's understandable since the place is filled to capacity. Friendly bar tenders and regulars add flair to the venue.

Cozy café with regular live music and a very wide choice of standard and special beers. Of course other drinks are also available. Bartender knows his stuff! Nice mix of regular customers and passers-by; both young and old.

Great little pub serving up some superb beers on tap and in the bottle, IPA and Triples are a must! 'Dive bar' feel with great music and walls adorned with rock gods (Lemmy included). Come here!

It is a cozy little cafe in the middle of Leiden. Very friendly people and the beer is good. They have a nice varied menu. Good old rock music was being played.

This bar is worth making a trip to visit. Great beer selection - all details on a nicely laid out large screen. Knowledgeable bar man and a nice atmosphere. It was quiet when I was there (quite early). I had a sense that millions of glasses of beer have been happily drunk there in the past 150 or so years.

Lovely little bar, good selection of beer on tap, staff were great. Got there at 6 and it was empty by they time I left at 11 it was standing room only, nice crowd, the music was not to load so talking was easy.

Nice spot. Good recommendations from the bartender, which were especially helpful given the huge beer list. Super tasty burger, too. Highly recommended!

Gezellig klein café. Grootse keuze in bieren en whiskey. Alleen barkrukken om op te zitten. Zeker geen lounge bar. Muziek niet te aanwezig maar wel hoorbaar.

Leuk café, authentiek, aardige vrouw, sympathieke man, goede muziek (Phil Collins, Metallica) en groots bierassortiment. Fijne avond gehad.

One of the best bars in Leiden if you've got a taste for crafties. Had 6 types of beers from around Netherlands and Belgium and I wasn't let down by any of them. Will be back!

Best place to meet cool people in Leiden

Knowledgeable bar tender, great selection of beers, and a decent atmosphere. Bar tender was on point and definitely was able to recommend vers based on what you like/don't like. A big caveat to this review and the atmosphere is that I visited on a weeknight, who knows what the weekend is like in terms of people.

Great selection of beers, check out the 0.75L section, it has some gems. Great and knowledgeable service.
