I dont think its worth 5 stars and special at all. It tastes as homemade food would tatse, so nothing special especially since you have to wait around 30 mins for a table. Yeah the round 2 meat is rlly nice but you also pay for that??, so its what they must do as well. In conclusion, do not go

Really wanted to try Amsterdam’s take on of the classic entrecote restaurants😌 The sauce was better than the other restaurants in my opinion - very garlicky! They do charge you for extra sauce with your second round of steak & fries though, which I thought was a bit rubbish😂 Especially as the set menu was €38.50 which is slightly higher than other restaurants and the portions were smaller🤔 However, excellently cooked steak for me!

What an awesome experience around food. We can just shy of 20 minutes that them closing the kitchen but the hostess/waiter was so kind to let us in. We ordered the Entricote formula, the Camambert (which was a new dish to us), and it was really good. Serving was fast. The waitress treated us to an extra steak and fries for the kid too. Totally recommend their service, atmosphere and high food quality. Prices aren't high either. Go taste.

The two-dish concept here is absolute culinary brilliance—a masterclass in "less is more." You leave feeling completely satisfied and far exceeding any expectations. Starting with a perfectly mixed Negroni followed by the tender rare beef set a wonderful tone, but getting a fresh second serving of steak and fries was an incredible surprise. Finishing with the Crème Brûlée was the icing on the cake. Between the warm lighting, classic hardwood floors, and fantastic staff, this place easily deserves a weekly visit. Exceptional in every way!

Had a great experience for lunch on a Saturday! Not so busy, didn't have to wait for a table and got such a nice and friendly service. I was pleasantly surprised by the food - good portion, great flavor! The L'entrecôte works like this: 1. You receive such a nice salad with nuts for entree 2. The first serving of beef/fish and fries arrives. It is rather filling already 3. You get another serving of beef/fish and fries (yes! A refil) Loved it!

⭐ 1/5 Very disappointing experience. Waiting over 45 minutes for a table would already be frustrating, but what made it worse was the way the concept was presented. You’re given the impression that refills are part of the experience and that you certainly won’t leave hungry. Maybe that was the case a few years ago, when I remember this being a nice restaurant, but unfortunately that’s no longer our experience. The “refill” consisted of just four tiny pieces of meat, after which our plates were taken away. Considering the relatively small portions, the prices feel very steep, and the overall experience simply isn’t worth it. Sadly, I wouldn’t recommend L’Entrecôte et les Dames anymore.

Went today for the first time for lunch, easy to find. And to be honest….i loved it! They bring some bread while you’re waiting and then a delicious Salad. The entrecôte my god, so soft so nice specially with the sauce it brings! We chose this without knowing that there’s a second serving of the entrecôte, so we would only finish the first (maybe let people know about this 😂) but everything was very tasty and the service was nice.

Always the same good quality steak and the menu around it. I’ve been a regular customer for years either for a lunch and definitely before any concert I go at ConcertGebouw. Highly recommend!

That sirloin steak is really what you come for. That sauce is truly heavenly. Had a lovely time with a group and a fantastic meal. At first it seemed our reservation wasn't in the system, but luckily the table was set for us. Started with a cocktail and everyone chose the meat. We even got a second round and then it was time to move on. Definitely coming back.

There's no need to worry about the menu. They just ask how you like your meat cooked. You get thinly sliced ​​ribeye steak with herb sauce, and it's truly delicious. The fries are hot and plentiful. Its proximity to Museumplein is also a plus. If you're looking for a classic Parisian experience, this is the place.

Waited 30 minutes for our steak. First we got a salad filled with some sauce… it was not that good but thats fine. When the waitress took our saladplates she left us our used cutlery that we had to use for our steak. That was not very nice since we already used the same fork in a salad with sauce we didnt like.. But the waitress was kind

I've visited this restaurant chain in several countries, and every previous experience was wonderful. In Paris, for example, I was warmly welcomed, the food was delicious, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Unfortunately, my experience at Entrecôte Amsterdam was completely different. The waitress was incredibly rude, the food was mediocre considering the high prices, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant. It even felt as though the waitress was constantly watching us, which made us feel very uncomfortable. I will never return to this restaurant. I sincerely hope you provide your staff with proper customer service training because if this kind of behavior continues, you will lose customers. My experience at this restaurant was terrible. I’ve lost count and that’s all your fault! So addictively delicious at your place and the service is the sweetest. No matter who serves you—and you regularly have new people on the service team—they are all well-informed. Thank you L’Entrocôte team for providing me and the people I come with with a lovely meal.

My husband and I visited this restaurant on July 17th. When we arrived, it was moderately busy. We noticed an empty table in the outdoor seating area. I made eye contact with one of the waiters and said “Hello” twice, but he simply walked past us without saying a word and completely ignored us. After waiting for a few minutes, I decided that we should just sit down since the table was still empty. Unfortunately, the table was covered in crumbs, and the seating outside was incredibly cramped. You are literally sitting elbow-to-elbow with other guests, leaving almost no room for a private conversation. About five minutes later, a waitress came over and told me that next time I should come inside first because they had supposedly been waiting to seat guests at that table and that it was reserved. I explained that there was no reservation sign on the table and that the waiter had ignored us when we arrived. Her only response, in a rather unfriendly tone, was, “Next time you need to come inside first.” We were extremely hungry, so despite the unpleasant experience, we decided to stay and eat, even though I honestly wanted to leave immediately after what had happened. The waitress who served us at the table afterward was very kind and friendly, so I want to give her credit for that. Unfortunately, the food was disappointing. The bread that was supposed to come with the salad was never served. The salad itself consisted of little more than dressing and three leaves of lettuce. On top of that, the same waiter who had ignored us earlier forgot to bring our cutlery, so we had to wait another ten minutes until a different staff member noticed and brought us some. The steak was okay, but it was definitely not worth the price. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience, and we will not be returning.

Very nice. Loved how perfectly the meat was done. A bit much dressing on the salad - ask for it on the side. Fries, mayo and sauce... oioioi.... perfectttt Good price / value. Not a 3x5 because there is just a very high bar in AMS nowadays. But will come here again for sure

The wait is long and the place is cramped

The food is substandard for the price, €87, including €7 for a liter of water. You can simply buy the entrecôte from a butcher for a tenth of the price. The plate was warm; I suspect, based on this and the taste, that it was simply reheated rather than properly cooked. For this reason, the servers also recommend ordering medium rare; you don't think twice about it at first, but once you get a warm plate and taste the meat, you quickly realize it wasn't freshly cooked. The atmosphere is solely due to the location by the park. A little further down the street, there is an Indian restaurant with much better food.

In my opinion, it's better than Entrecote in the Kingdom.

We had been to similar concept restaurants in Paris and Zurich and had loved those places so we wanted to give this restaurant a try. Fortunately, we were not disappointed. The starter salad, while huge, was not very good so we were becoming slightly apprehensive about our decision to dine here. However, the remainder of the meal was delicious and perfectly executed, more than making up for the slow start. The steaks were cooked and seasoned perfectly, the fries were divine, and the accompanying sauces were incredible. Also the service was very good which we always appreciate. We definitely enjoyed our leisurely lunch at this gem.

I eat here multiple times a year. However, today was unfortunately not a good experience. They were so rushy to get us out. We just got there and by 18:30 everything had been served and the waitress was ready to take my plate while I was eating. I personally think the food is great but the portions also have gotten quite small. And it’s not like we were not spending money. It’s not how it used to be unfortunately way better service and experience with people letting you enjoy your food and at least serve with a smile.

Lovely place. Our favorite. Or one of our favorite restaurants. Hospitality as it should be. Just a shame you can't make reservations. It causes stress.

I ate at the original Entrecote in Paris a long time ago, and while they completely copied it, it’s great! Only one dinner formula, salad, fries and steak (alternatively fish). All was of very goos quality and with a refill. Overall good value for money, friendly and fast service. I can recommend it!

In comparison Le Relais, it was lacking steak in my opinion. It tastes great, but the steak was thin. I did get second round, but in all it felt like the rest of my steak.

Wow this place was easy, effortlessly chic, and just good food. No headache just good food and vibes. The service was great. From walking in to the table service, everyone was friendly and polite. Our server Maud was great! The next time I’m in town I’ll stop by again. Worth every penny.

I thought it was a starter. Turns out that was the portion, with a promised "second round" of another 4 pieces. Eight small pieces of steak total for €25. The photos in other reviews set completely different expectations, so either the portions have shrunk or the photography is misleading. When I politely mentioned to the waiter that I'd only received 4 small pieces, she didn't acknowledge the concern at all, just said "there's a second round" and moved on. No apology, no explanation. That dismissiveness stung more than the portion size. To add to the oddness: they asked about dessert while I was still actively eating my main. And as a parting gift, the waiter replied with a sarcastic "thank you for the review." So here it is. You can fill up on fries, sure. But if you're coming here for steak, manage your expectations or your wallet.

We arrived at 6:30 PM and got a table at 7:15 PM; quite decent considering they told us we would have to wait 30-45 minutes. On the terrace where we had to wait, no one came to take our drink orders; you had to order them yourself at the bar and bring them yourself. Personally, I don't find that very inviting if you want your guests to stand in line for a table. The food was tasty, though the portions were small. You get two rounds, but personally, I think those two rounds together form one nice plate. The meat is actually very thin. The waitresses were young girls, nice, but it felt a bit artificial/not authentic. We got a table at 7:15 PM and were back outside at 8:15 PM. The concept is nice in Paris and has a lot of soul. In Amsterdam, it was a bit of a disappointment to me; it feels like they want to fill as many shifts as possible in one evening, rather than like you can have a romantic dinner for two at your leisure. There were also a lot of tourists, which is logical given the location. The waitress tried to push a bottle of wine on us, but that isn't cheaper at all: we did the math :) After we mentioned that, and preferred a glass, she tried again. I work in the hospitality industry myself and know how easy it can be to strike up a friendly conversation. This didn't feel very warm or inviting. We ended up paying 100.- for: Salad, bread roll, Meat with fries, 4 small glasses of beer, and 2 glasses of white wine.

Entrecote is a nice place if you want to eat well and not too expensively without a reservation. Do take into account a possible wait, as it can get busy. The meat is good and exactly what you come for. Furthermore, do not expect elaborate luxury: the focus here is on fast, solid, and tasty food. Exactly what they are known for!

A well-deserved 5 stars. This place basically only serves steak with fries and their own special sauce, and that's a good thing. The meat was cooked to perfection, juicy, and full of flavor. The fries were crispy, and the sauce complemented everything perfectly. No huge menu, no frills, just a complete focus on what they do, and it shows. That's exactly how a concept should work. I'll definitely be back.

didn't really like the salad and it seemed like the bread was not fresh. Steak was fine, citroen tart was also fine. Didn't really like the profiteroles because that had ice cream instead of cream so it was hard to bite

All in all, a perfect place to eat steak frites. The sauce is delicious and pairs well with the steak. The steak might be too salty for some. Portions are small. The quality does fluctuate sometimes. Small and cozy restaurant. A bit pricey, though, but that is normal in Amsterdam.

Truly a what you see is what you get kind of place. Great beef unlimited fries and refreshing salad, a perfect combination. I will be honest and say I prefer the filet at Loetjes however this is also quite delicious as well. My brother would disagree with me for example so do try it and make your own judgement! What I liked the most really was the atmosphere of the place, low lit vibes and very informed servers. Feels like a high end place with good food, can’t complain! Would recommend.

It’s a shame you can’t reserve your table, since if it’s a special occasion you might not enjoy staying in the waiting area for 15-40’… However the steak frites were actually perfectly cooked and good quality, while the small round 2 refill they do is actually quite cool and was much appreciated:)

Very nice restaurant! For us, the interior is also nice and fits the concept. The concept is simple: either steak with fries or fish with fries. We found the steak tasty, even though it was thin. The characteristic sauce was delicious and there were plenty of fries. Unfortunately, the meat is not unlimited; at a certain point, you have to pay per piece of meat. Fine for the price you pay.

The food was ok but the service was deplorable. The waitress were all over the place they my pants with food.

The system is definitely something special. The food was truly a 5/5. The second helping is really just a tiny bit of meat and, if you want, some fries. The third helping costs €7.50, but the portion isn't really filling. The service was awful, but I think that was down to the waiter, who was just having a bad day.

Honestly worth the wait.(45mins for a table Saturday night.) Salad starter with walnuts simple but lovely. Steak was cooked to my perfection and the sauce was just gorgeous. Did I have the extra steak absolutely. Couldn't fit in dessert 😋. Cost €160 for 3 people with 3 drinks each so great price. Would highly recommend.

I've dined here several times, and oh, that prime rib is DELICIOUS! Before I first came here, I was incredibly picky about meat and absolutely didn't want to see or hear anything about medium-rare meat. Thanks to l'Entrecote's tender meat and their delicious sauce, I've learned to appreciate it!

Amazing steak. Loved the sauce and the salad as well. Unfortunately i hadnt booked so had to wait about 35 minutes but there is a bar there where you get drinks while you wait. And because some people say its all you can eat steak its not. If for example you are two people you get a portion each and then you share one portion. Keep that in mind :)

Entrecôte en les Dames does exactly what it promises, and it never disappoints us. You come for the meat, the sauce, and the fries. That’s it. And every single time, they deliver. The quality is consistent, the flavours are spot on. Very fairly priced for what you get. The service is warm and efficient, and even on a Sunday evening the place is buzzing which I love. Great energy, great atmosphere. And there is always room for desert:)

It's famous throughout Paris. Even at Adm, you can't resist eating it, especially when it's ice cold! €34.80 for all-you-can-eat salad and fries, plus one free refill of steak or fish. Look how tender the meat is! The fries arrive piping hot~ and the lemon pesto is delicious! They give you all the bread, salad, protein, and fries, and you can even refill them! Want to try it? ❤️

Very nice place to eat an intro cart I love that the menu is very simple. You can only pick two options whether it is an entry court or or Fish for your main days and you can get a decent amount of fries with it reasonable Caesar salad also with the plate and once you’re done, they will bring more intercoat and fries for you. Additionally, which is definitely a nice treat by the restaurant and we had a fantastic apple pie at the end which has been my all-time favorite at the restaurant would definitely suggest a visit if you are in Amsterdam the place is really nice. They do not take reservations for less than seven people so you can just come by and make a line.

Yummy steak 😋 My friend said it's a famous restaurant from Paris. The meal is a set: salad and a steak with french fries for 34 euros. You can get one refill of the steak. It was so delicious! The steak was excellent and the sauce was amazing. At first, I thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I did. Because it's steak, it's so enjoyable to eat. Dessert was ordered separately; I chose mille feuille, which was also delicious. The staff were lovely and provided good service. #amsterdam #restaurant #steak

The food and service are great!

This restaurant should be a textbook example of how a business should be run from a capitalist perspective. The menu offers two options: sirloin steak or sole, both paired with a salad. In many restaurants, a limited menu is a good sign, as the few dishes are often well-prepared. L'Entrecôte et les Dames, however, demonstrates that rules always have exceptions. The salad was served, but I was presented with something that had been implicitly devoid of any care, love, or craftsmanship. A few lettuce leaves, walnuts, and mayonnaise—a combination I could have made myself for the whole table at the local supermarket for a few euros. However, I still held out hope for the main course. The sirloin steak arrived sliced, arranged in such a way that it took up considerably more surface area on the plate. However, when you put the pieces together, you're dealing with a modestly sized piece of meat. This piece of meat is reasonably prepared, but easily matched by most amateur chefs. Combined with a portion of fries, the meal was so large that even when the plate was empty, my stomach still was. Despite being thoroughly entertained by this ridiculous situation and receiving a good economics lesson, it meant that I and my dinner companions needed a second restaurant to satisfy their appetite. I strongly advise against this restaurant; for a decent meal, I'd go elsewhere.

Always delicious and friendly service

I have recently been administered therapy for severe decision paralysis, so i was overjoyed to find out that L’entrecôte et les dames only offers a single dish on their menu. my wife chose the steak, and i also chose the steak. The food was delicious and the wine was also delicious. Chose not to indulge in a desert, although i regretted this later. just goes to show, the therapy is working, although there are many hurdles left to jump. the wait staff were excellent and even offered us a extra steak- what a treat. would reccomend.

We had a fantastic time; everything was truly excellent from start to finish. The atmosphere was wonderful, the food delicious, and the service impeccable. Special mention goes to the servers, all very professional and friendly, and especially to one absolutely amazing waitress who was incredibly attentive, always smiling, and took such good care of us. Very mediocre! A concept focused on maximizing profit. Two choices: A wafer-thin sliced ​​baguette to start, with only a little butter. Then a salad served separately: literally a few whole lettuce leaves in a bowl with 4 walnut halves. Then sirloin steak or sole. No other choice. This is served plain, without vegetables or anything like that. With a side of fries. It's more like an old-fashioned menza. Noisy, disinterested staff, and the music is too loud. Two shifts, but you wouldn't want to stay there any longer.

Great food, went on a Sunday 8pm, waited a bit for a table. Unfortunately the service was really slow (although many tables were empty) and the girls seemed to be more focused on ending their shift soon.

Another great meal at this restaurant. We last ate here in 2023, and everything was flawless then as well. One thing that we’ve never been able to do however, is to have dessert. This is because the portions are generous and we couldn’t even consider it after that well cooked steak. The wait wasn’t too bad either at 8 o’clock on a Saturday.

I've tried many steak places and honestly this one surprised me a lot ! Although it's a simple dish at first glance and the menu is very specific and that’s what’s special here too! The meat melts in your mouth, the sauce is perfect and the potatoes don't look wow but they taste very good too 😍 It's worth the wait also but I was advised to be there 15 minutes before opening and I got a table quickly 🤌🏼 I will definitely come back here again. by the way the staff are also to be appreciated ! they are all very attentive to the customers and do their best ✨

A delicious experience in a beautiful neighborhood in Amsterdam! Came to L’entrecôte specifically for the formule, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service, the food, and the great atmosphere! The salad was fresh, the bread was warm and soft, the fries perfectly crispy and salty, the green sauce was to die for, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for the perfect steak dinner (or lunch) in Amsterdam!

We had a very nice evening here. Everything we ordered was delicious. The only downside was that the refills of fries, meat, and sauce were served separately, so we couldn't eat everything at once.

Oh, if only I'd known sooner! This is L'Entrecôte (and the ladies), a well-known concept for the people of Toulouse (from Toulouse city), a true institution. An iconic restaurant in the Pink City, it can also be found in other French cities and in Amsterdam. Not just a single set menu, but THE set menu! A walnut salad (the Caesar dressing is a bit meh) A beautiful, thin, flavorful, and perfectly sliced ​​piece of meat A green sauce (different from the French version) served on the side French fries A typical French dessert (profiteroles, crêpes Suzette, etc.) Same concept, but with the option of an additional course of meat and fries. It is an over rated restaurant. Kind of tourist trap. The meat is good but far from great.. With some basic fries and a sauce.. Portions are small, but they will we give you kind of an extra, but not a full one. We had to wait one hour to be admitted (assumed) and another half an hour to order. Then, after less than an hour, they asked us if we could release the table ( and we still had a part from the bottle of wine on the table) Bottom, a very average place, and very much Over-rated!

The renowned Entrecôte Steak Restaurant has amazing steaks, and the sauce that comes with them is incredibly balanced. Their desserts are also wonderful (every dessert on the menu is, without exaggeration, delicious; anything you order will be fantastic). This food was incredible, the atmosphere was nice, as well as the staff. But that garlic butter sauce… I would sell my kids for more of that sauce!
