Very mediocre! A concept focused on maximizing profit. Two choices: A wafer-thin sliced ​​baguette to start, with only a little butter. Then a salad served separately: literally a few whole lettuce leaves in a bowl with 4 walnut halves. Then sirloin steak or sole. No other choice. This is served plain, without vegetables or anything like that. With a side of fries. It's more like an old-fashioned menza. Noisy, disinterested staff, and the music is too loud. Two shifts, but you wouldn't want to stay there any longer.

Great food, went on a Sunday 8pm, waited a bit for a table. Unfortunately the service was really slow (although many tables were empty) and the girls seemed to be more focused on ending their shift soon.

Another great meal at this restaurant. We last ate here in 2023, and everything was flawless then as well. One thing that we’ve never been able to do however, is to have dessert. This is because the portions are generous and we couldn’t even consider it after that well cooked steak. The wait wasn’t too bad either at 8 o’clock on a Saturday.

I've tried many steak places and honestly this one surprised me a lot ! Although it's a simple dish at first glance and the menu is very specific and that’s what’s special here too! The meat melts in your mouth, the sauce is perfect and the potatoes don't look wow but they taste very good too 😍 It's worth the wait also but I was advised to be there 15 minutes before opening and I got a table quickly 🤌🏼 I will definitely come back here again. by the way the staff are also to be appreciated ! they are all very attentive to the customers and do their best ✨

A delicious experience in a beautiful neighborhood in Amsterdam! Came to L’entrecôte specifically for the formule, and was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service, the food, and the great atmosphere! The salad was fresh, the bread was warm and soft, the fries perfectly crispy and salty, the green sauce was to die for, and the meat was cooked to perfection. Definitely recommend if you’re looking for the perfect steak dinner (or lunch) in Amsterdam!

We had a very nice evening here. Everything we ordered was delicious. The only downside was that the refills of fries, meat, and sauce were served separately, so we couldn't eat everything at once.

Oh, if only I'd known sooner! This is L'Entrecôte (and the ladies), a well-known concept for the people of Toulouse (from Toulouse city), a true institution. An iconic restaurant in the Pink City, it can also be found in other French cities and in Amsterdam. Not just a single set menu, but THE set menu! A walnut salad (the Caesar dressing is a bit meh) A beautiful, thin, flavorful, and perfectly sliced ​​piece of meat A green sauce (different from the French version) served on the side French fries A typical French dessert (profiteroles, crêpes Suzette, etc.) Same concept, but with the option of an additional course of meat and fries. The renowned Entrecôte Steak Restaurant has amazing steaks, and the sauce that comes with them is incredibly balanced. Their desserts are also wonderful (every dessert on the menu is, without exaggeration, delicious; anything you order will be fantastic). It is an over rated restaurant. Kind of tourist trap. The meat is good but far from great.. With some basic fries and a sauce.. Portions are small, but they will we give you kind of an extra, but not a full one. We had to wait one hour to be admitted (assumed) and another half an hour to order. Then, after less than an hour, they asked us if we could release the table ( and we still had a part from the bottle of wine on the table) Bottom, a very average place, and very much Over-rated!

This food was incredible, the atmosphere was nice, as well as the staff. But that garlic butter sauce… I would sell my kids for more of that sauce!

The food was delicious. Exceeded all expectations😍 We were served a delicious sandwich as a starter, followed by a salad with walnuts and dressing. When we arrived, the waiting time was indicated as 15 minutes. While we waited, we were able to enjoy a drink at the designated area. We were then led to our table and waited a few minutes for the waiter with the remains of our drinks. This always goes down well while waiting for the first course. The salad was simple but very tasty. The rare sirloin steak melted in the mouth. The sauce wasn't to my liking, unfortunately, but thankfully the meat was already excellent with just a little salt. The fries came with a choice of sauce. After we finished our first round, we were offered more fries and sirloin steak. This left us too full to order dessert. So, we went home with a full stomach.

Long time customers and fans but the portions have become diabolically small. We went on the weekend and couldn’t believe it. The steak is sliced so thin that you can’t even cut it, it’s too thin to have any grip. Just because there is a second severing doesn’t mean you need to have such ridiculously small slices. If you’re going to do it, do it right.

Honestly a bit overhyped, the steak is good but the sauce is average! Service was okay could’ve been better!

Ordered through Uber. No one came to pick it up, and then didn't, and then didn't. It was eventually canceled. Uber has become a real lousy company. Called the restaurant. Spoke to (I think) manager David. I had to pick it up myself, but I was very well compensated. Hence the 5 stars. Excellent food and service, I can't say anything else!

Unfortunately our experience was not so well due to the service. We spilled the wine by mistake and all of our clothes have been red. The waitress came and she literally threw the tissues under our table. She didn’t offer to change our napkins or bring another glass of wine. She left the dirty napkin and it was literally on the table for the whole dinner. The service is also not fast and they give quite a lot time between serving the plates while you wait for the second round. I went to a similar concept of restaurant in London and this experience far away from that one. Also looking at the size of portions.

We had to wait about 30 minutes for our table, but it was so worth it! If you want to go to a restaurant in Amsterdam, go here! Incredibly fast and friendly service. Excellent value for money. The meat was tender and the fries crispy, and the appetizer salad was also good. They even let you order seconds. For dessert, I highly recommend the caramel ice cream.

They have a very simple menu formula, bread with butter, salad, and steak/fish with fries. I love the simplicity of it, the steak is delicious especially with their sauce. And you’re able to get seconds on their steak and fries! We tried a few of their desserts as well. I didn’t take a picture but my favorite is their chocolate mousse, since it’s not too sweet!

Disappointing experience – simple concept, poor execution I ate at L’Entrecôte et les Dames in Amsterdam. The menu is simple and predictable: you get a walnut salad as a starter, followed by a choice of sirloin steak or sole, with French fries. I chose the sirloin steak, medium rare. It's nice that the concept is so simple – it should allow the craftsmanship and pure flavor of the dish to shine through. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case here. The walnut salad was tasty and well-balanced, but the sirloin steak was disappointing. Although the presentation was excellent, the meat didn't live up to expectations in terms of flavor, especially not for the price. The second round of meat felt more like a bland afterthought than a welcome addition. The green herb sauce (I suspect Café de Paris sauce) was very tasty – one of the few things that felt truly flavorful and well-thought-out. The fries, on the other hand, I found bland and boring – they lacked any real flavor and didn't add much to the overall experience. I did eat them, but that says more about my hunger than the quality. What made it all the more disappointing was the service. The waitress came across as both pushy and indifferent. That really detracted from the atmosphere of the evening. If the food had been stronger or the service a bit more cordial, I might have appreciated it. But now it felt like an expensive disappointment. For this price, you simply expect more.

The waiter was the rudest I have ever encountered in Amsterdam and was so aggressive for absolutely no reason. We came with a party of 6 instead of 7 in which the original reservation was made. He said it will be cancelled due to their policy since we are less than 7. Like fine okay that’s your policy. And then he made us made for a while before we got seated and then when our group arrived (5 and we were still waiting for one more person), he got so aggressive and in a very agitated voice told us off “you said 6 but now there is only 5!!” My god one person was still on the way, like sir please learn how to work in a restaurant.

This place has to have the best meat I’ve tasted in my whole life with a secret sauce that personally didn’t look appealing to me at first sight but was delicious and definitely the perfect combination with the dish.

The salad and the dressing was lovely, the steak was cooked perfectly and went very well with their sauce and crispy fries. We also got a free refill which was pretty amazing. Lastly we got their creme brulee which tasted perfect!!!! Must try

Honestly: the food and service was great until we had to pay for the bill and the manager was incredibly rude and quite frankly violent towards the poor lady that was trying to split our bill. Apparently it was not normal to split a bill, but she decided to make an exception for us which was really sweet of her. The male manager forced the payment device out of her hand. Unacceptable. We’re not coming back. Hats of to the girls in the service, total cuties.

We have been coming here for many years, only we have been there recently, only the entrecôte has become much less, I have compared photos with previous years and it has really halved in portions, the trick of the owner is to stuff you with fries and sauce so that your hunger feeling goes away, it is 10% entrecôte and 90% fries and a salad. It is really far too little for what you pay, it was the last time for us.

The food was excellent and very well plated as well as fairly priced. The waiters were, however, lukewarm at best, slightly condescending and passive agressive. It's definitely worth visiting if you have a bit of thicker skin.

This restaurant has a buzz on TikTok particularly in France and London. so we thought we try out the one in Amsterdam. They sell you on menu formula where you get salad, steak and chips. And you get a refill of the steak and chips after you finish your food. In theory it sounds nice however when you actually arrive and you see how small the initial portion is you’d think the cut the meal in half just to serve it to you later on and act like they’re doing a kind gesture. Would match rather have an actual full stake and portion of chips then have to sit there waiting for the rest of the food to come

I visited yesterday and was truly impressed by the food — the entrecôte with herb butter and fries was absolutely delicious, cooked to perfection. However, the experience was unfortunately overshadowed by the behavior of one staff member. The waiter (or possibly manager) in a white shirt was incredibly rude — dismissive, cold, and lacking any sense of hospitality. It's disappointing, because the kitchen clearly delivers quality, but service like that makes it difficult to enjoy the atmosphere or consider returning.

If you want to eat really good sirloin steak you should go here!! I have been to Bordeaux myself and the price there was 17 euros. In the Netherlands it is a bit more expensive, but they do ask politely if you want more meat or fries! The sauce with the meat is also very special and also secret from what I understand. I taste butter, tarragon and garlic* (what do you taste?). Parking is possible, but costs 5 euros per hour!.

And then…dessert. A mille-feuille with pecans, so light and delicious that I regret sharing it with my wife. Seriously, what was I thinking? Finished with a double espresso — after all, I still had to drive to Almere — and just when I thought it couldn't get any better, she also played Lady in Red, my favorite. I left singing. Im scoring it so low as the service was terrible, waiting forever to take drinks order, sat with the empty salad bowl for 20 minutes before taking it away and then a long wait for the steak. Had to go to the bar myself to ask for another drink as waitress nowhere to be seen.

This is my go to spot in Amsterdam. I love the simple concept - only steak and fries or fish and fries. The steak frites is delicious - my steak has always been cooked perfectly and the accompanying sauce is so good with both the steak and the fries.

Nice place, similar concept than in Paris. The meat is better though, but the fries are not home made. Birthday: Little upset they charged us 5€ fee per person if we bring our own cake. Which ends up being quite a lot if you are more than 6. Particularly if it ends up being Dutch service: Platter, Knife, couple of candles and do it yourself. I would have preferred them charging a flat fee for it (20€ max).

Online auf dieses französisch angehauchte Lokal gestossen, wir wurden herzlich Empfangen, auch ohne eine Reservation haben wir schnell einen Tisch erhalten. Das Essen war typisch französisch einen grünen Salat zur Vorspeise und Entrecôte mit Pommes zum Hauptgang (mit Nachschlag inbegriffen). Das einzig negative war, dass man nicht wirklich ankommen konnte, man merkte das die Tische nochmals vergeben werden daher ging alles recht schnell und das Ambiente konnte man nicht geniessen. Ansonsten sicher einen Aufenthalt wert. :)

Very arrogant staff (especially the ladies in short black dresses with red lipstick), not very chic on the vulgar side. In addition, they do NOT ask how you want the meat cooked. The standard of the meat is apparently very raw, so red. This shocked me because what about pregnant women?! Pregnant women are not even allowed to eat this, so why is this not checked? Abbiamo consultato il sito tripadvaisor,e da quanto avevamo letto ci sembrava un bel posto dove andare a mangiare…appena entrati abbiamo dovuto aspettare 45 minuti prima che la cameriera ci avesse assegnato un tavolo. Quando ci siamo seduti sono venuti ad ordinare,ma al momento dell’attesa abbiamo dovuto aspettare molto. Il personale è stato in sé e molto gentile però quando abbiamo chiesto di pagare la cameriera si e dimenticata della richiesta e abbiamo aspettato venti minuti prima di andare a chiedere di pagare di uovo di persona. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è davvero troppo alto per aver preso soltanto due piatti di pesce (neppure troppo buoni).

Atmospheric restaurant in the heart of Mokum. Ideal for when you're out and about for a day. Staff is excellent, as is the menu. The steak tartare is an absolute must. I would love to come back here.

If you have already eaten at the entrecôte in Paris I strongly advise you not to eat at the one in Amsterdam in addition to the haughty waitress the taste is really not there the meat is tough without taste and the frozen fries are a shame!!!!
