Liever Hier in Nieuwendammerdijk/Buiksloterdijk

I was here a day ago with my boyfriend and we came there by accident after a search for specialty coffee in Amsterdam North. Not only did we enter a very cozy place with both indoor and outdoor seating, we entered a place where people are clearly passionate about what they do. You can also see and taste that in what you order. Now I am not vegan myself, but I did not miss the animal products during my visit. On the contrary, the food was rich, balanced, filling but not heavy on the stomach. My friend had the same experience and we only found out later that it was vegan. We both had a flat white with pea milk (which is used to make coffee as standard instead of cow's milk), the pulled BBQ jackfruit and kik-currie salad sandwiches and finally a piece of the carrot cake and cherry "cheese" cake. Each one is a new taste experience and highly recommended. My only point is that I think it's a shame that they are only open from Friday to Sunday, but I will definitely come back here for a sandwich, piece of cake, cup of coffee and a nice atmosphere.

Loved the atmosphere! I cannot describe how wonderful both of the sandwiches are. Extremely well balanced and rich in flavor. The bread is not too crunchy or chewy. Well worth the price. Great friendly staff who can help you pick from all their lovely options as it is difficult to choose. Pleasantly surprised! Cannot believe how good everything was! See you guys soon.

So much love for this lovely place ❤️ Dear people, beautiful place, inside and also lovely outside! The cakes are delicious and there are lots of tasty drinks that you wouldn't find just anywhere, such as good matcha, home-blended herbal tea and ceremonial cocoa espressos 😋

That’s my little paradise when the weather is nice. They make beautiful coffee with sprout milk, cakes are plant-based and delicious. The owners are very friendly. Sitting outside in the nature is just the best. Very peaceful and quiet. Totally recommend it.

Wish I discovered this place sooner!

Here they can do magic with cake. I have already enjoyed several times at this fine establishment. You can also go here for lunch. Sometimes there is a wait due to crowds. A beautiful, picturesque house where, as a vegan, you don't have to think about what you order. Sit outside when the weather is nice. Everything is animal-friendly and plant-based. Lots of choice. And delicious. The non-vegans I brought along were thrilled! The only downside is the toilet, which you can only reach via a steep staircase. Come on your bike. Enjoy the authentic Nieuwendammerdijk. Not open every day. So check out the Liever Hier site. Nice name by the way. And so rightly so!

Nice place on this beautiful dike in Amsterdam North. The carrot cake and apple pie were tasty and not extra sweet. As far as I'm concerned, a different blend can be chosen for the earl gray. I didn't like it that much. The inside looks renovated. But the colors make it pleasant. Beautiful cabinets and counter made of steel and beautiful plywood. I wonder who made that! The service is very friendly. It is not entirely clear whether you will be helped to a table or whether you have to stand in line. It seems to depend on the crowds. All in all a nice place!

Wonderful, finally a place where I can buy a pastry and a drink with my daughter and not have to ask if it contains milk

Great cafe, fantastic fresh juices and coffee’s The kimchi bread and date cake were great too and prices very decent as well.

This has been my favourite cafe in Amsterdam since the day I found it and I’m so happy it’s a 10min walk away from my house and vegan. The menu is small but the options are varied and you can’t go there without trying some of their cakes. It makes me forget how hard it can be to find delicious vegan cakes. Also their banana jam is SO good 🌱

Every time I get or eat something here it is really delicious. Sitting outside is great. A little less cozy inside, but fine. I hope they open more often.

Finally visited Liever Hier and will definitely visit again! Friendly staff, beautiful decor and delicious coffee. And of course I couldn't resist one of the homemade cakes. I took the vegan chocolate cake. Delicious! There was a newspaper ready to read. Me time!

I think the cakes are the tastiest I have eaten during 6 years in the Netherlands. Ginger tea was delicious and special, which I have not drunk anywhere. Of course we go there a few times.

New favourite place in Amsterdam, definitely coming back for the amazing ambience, perfect vegan croissants and overall vibe. Very friendly nice staff. 10/10 for sure!

Cosy cafe in a lovely neighborhood

The atmosphere is really charming, specifically if there's a little sun. I ate a tarte made of dates, and it's super delicious together with a peanut butter blondlie and a cup of English breakfast with milk. The people are ultimately friendly and gezellig. **The silverware here is vintage and beautiful.

Bij Liever hier, wil je echt liever zijn (ieder weekend). Eten is heerlijk, alles huisgemaakt, koffie is top, taarten zijn heerlijk (en ruime keuze) en personeel heel vriendelijk. Tenslotte is de omgeving idyllisch, op een leuk rustig dijkje in Noord vindt je Liever hier en het is zit in een prachtig pand. Gaan!

Everything was perfect! Delicious food (one of the best vegan Croissants you can find anywhere! The chickpea Sandwich is also super flavorful!), great service and lovely decor& ambiance. You have to come here, when you're in the area!! 💚

While cycling around Amsterdam, we stumbled upon this charming café and decided to take a break for refreshments. The cozy interior and picturesque view outside added to the experience. The lemonades were delightful, and the blueberry cake was absolutely amazing.

A hidden gem in Noord. A special cute atmosphere with all the food homemade.

Fijne plek om te zitten. Peanut blondie was te zoet. Latte was wel lekker. Klein terrasje. Leuk ingericht. Vriendelijk personeel.

Top lokatie met heerlijke taartjes,gezellig , ongedwongen,fijne sfeer ,ook lekker buiten zitten Lieve mensen,gewoon leuk om daar te zijn.

100% vegan, and 100% laptop free. And the most delicious sandwiches served with a smile. Did not try the cakes but they all looked mouth watering

Our Saturday and Sunday morning go-to place. It's warm and cosy in the winter and is the perfect place to sit outside and watch the nature in the summer time. The cakes and coffees are delicious. The owners are sweet and welcoming and let us practice our Dutch. 😊 You immediately feel at peace in this place.

Als je een heerlijk proper plekje zoekt voor een intens goed bakje koffie, this is the place to be! Naast de goeie koffie zijn de taarten ook om te smullen. Wees er wel vroeg bij in het weekend...mensen weten kwaliteit goed te vinden en ze zitten regelmatig vol.

Wat een heerlijk plekje is dit. Een prachtig pand met warme huiskamersfeer. De eigenaren zijn lief en hartelijk. Elke gast wordt gezien, hoe druk het ook is.
