Light Lounge Café in Schiphol

Unbelievable. 12.5 euro for a gin and tonic and the glass is broken. Throw away broken glasses.

I haven't eaten here, but there was a rat that got behind the counter, and when I pointed it out to the staff (they clearly saw it), they ignored it as if it were normal. I think it's unhygienic.

Only 1 woman working the till and making drinks for a full gate, she was (maybe understandably) very short / not nice to customers. She also rinsed my wine glass in a sink of water then poured my wine in the wet glass (yuck!). Don't recommend but, honestly, no good options in this terminal

It's the ugliest coffee I've ever had. I should have been given it as a gift. It would have been okay if I was even getting paid for it.

I would say that the staff has always been (I fly to Amsterdam for work often) of an unacceptable rudeness. Always rude, tables always dirty, never attentive to service and always annoyed. They only work for lack of competition. Indecent and at very high prices

As you'd expect at an airport. The food is okay, the service is okay, the prices are rather high.

Disaster!!! A bunch of young amateurs behind the counter, extreme waiting time for a stupid meat bun (foccacio). I haven't experienced anything more horrible in a snack bar in a long time!!! Horror!!!! Absolutely do not recommend!!!

The waiter is extremely rude: I asked for a cold milk with my coffee and she replied that “sometimes people are too demanding”. Moreover Coffe it’s very expensive and very low quality!

What a terrible tent My girlfriend went here to get a cappuccino, which was already expensive for the current standard, but on top of that they secretly added an unsolicited tip to the bill They use the hustle and bustle and quick order processing as a "cover" If you sit quietly and "enjoy" your overpaid coffee with a ridiculous profit margin, it was still cold and you look at the receipt and think something is wrong here and you go back to get a refund, you get nothing back. And no cooperation whatsoever from the staff

You buy a hot chocolate knowing that you will get something better for the money and then the attendant sends you to pick it up at the store opposite where it is cheaper, with the fact that they don't have it. After reading other reviews this is a common practice with them. It's like if I ordered a vehicle service at an authorized service center and had to prepare it opposite to a workshop at the price of an authorized one. I recommend eating and drinking before security

It is the best there is in gate M. There are only 3 places to eat. I ordered a coke and a spicy chicken sandwich (which wasn't spicy at all). It seems expensive to me for the price-quality ratio. I suggest you eat something before going through security.

Mha. The cashier seemed quite annoyed. We only purchased a beer as we tried to ask for a sandwich but were told that they didn't have one and they sent us to another shop. Absurd for being the airport. Ps: tipping is mandatory despite the inefficiencies

We've been there for an hour, all the tables are dirty, the plates from previous customers have not been collected.

Absolutely sufficient for fast food. Unfortunately, the service does not care if the guest has a place to sit, so empty glasses and leftovers on the plate are rolling everywhere. This was easily balanced by a chilled Heineken and juicy wings with hot BBQ sauce. In 20 minutes I was gone and satiated.

Probably what purgatory looks like: For most flights, Schiphol typically offers a myriad of post-security check dining options. This is not the case when you are summoned to spend your pre-departure time in gate M. Not only are you completely cut off from the rest of the airport but also this terminal’s dining options are scarcer than water in the Sahara desert. Inevitably, you will end up at the Light Lounge Cafe. From afar the ‘lounge’ looks inviting enough but venture close enough and you will encounter a mind-bending experience. The floor is absolutely disgusting and hasn’t seen a broom or mop in ages. The chairs and benches are well past their prime and to top it all off, the table we sat at was covered in ring stains from previous guests’ beverages. My first mistake of taking a seat in this ‘lounge’ was quickly surpassed by my ordering of a cappuccino. for a whopping €4,95 I was expecting at the very minimum a decent cup of coffee. Instead I literally received the worst cappuccino I have ever tasted in my life. The beverage was watered down to an extent where it could barely pass for coffee. Not only is this ‘lounge’ charging high street prices for coffee, they simultaneously cut coffee by serving ‘Kimbo’ coffee which appears to be some kind of coffee discount brand . Since it was dinner time and I was craving a warm food option, I ignored all previous red flags and went with the only hot item on the menu: pizza. I decided to risk everything and went with the chicken pizza. After an acceptable waiting time and a surprisingly reasonable payment of €12,50, I was summoned to pick up a pizza which tasted… surprisingly good. It may have been my ravenous appetite but the crust was just the right texture, the tomato sauce was only slightly artificial and applied leisurely, the chicken was tender and well spiced. After this unexpected treat I tried watching a game of volleyball on the ridiculously small tv screen and after giving up, was quickly offered new entertainment in the form of one of the patrons vomiting their guts out in a bucket kindly provided by the staff. Speaking of the staff, I was pleasantly helped by Charlotte and her colleague who were both friendly and fast. She even went the extra mile by patting down with a towel the earlier mentioned sick patron who had worked up the sweats. After watching this spectacle time had mercifully progressed to the point requiring me to go to the gate. I did not look back.

Don't forget to have an extra cold beer and pizza while waiting for your flight.

The pasta salad is downright disgusting. Wrapped in plastic days ago, poorly preserved, ice cold and expensive too.

Great for a beer or a glass of wine. Another advantage is that there is a bar table that can be connected to a power source. There are also friendly and beautiful female staff. lol

Horrible food and service! We ordered simple pizza (that is ready, they just need to heat it up) and it took them more than an hour to make, even though it was not busy. We almost missed our flight and ended up leaving without getting the pizza because the gate was closing. One of us had a salad and it tasted awful. Just avoid.

Got a chicken pizza here, it was pretty good. Pretty good value considering it’s an airport, cost about €13.

This cafe offers a very poor variety of food. Pizza is the only warm food option and I tried to order it at 17.55. and to my surprise it was not available. This is the only place to have food at this gate and it doesn't have enough supply at dinner time. Very disappointing.

We have ordered gin tonic which was costing 13 euros each and when we asked for lime or lemon we have been explained in a rough way that THIS IS gin and tonic. The bar tender have no idea what the drink represents. We said that the table shall be cleaned and the same bar tender said that we can clean our self with the napkins on the table. The same bartender was yelling to someone behind the bar. Unfortunately did not have badge name but it was short angry girl.

Hot chocolate had barely enough chocolate. Workers are teenagers and throwing a party when manager is not around; loud inappropriate music and shouting. Not professional at all.

Ordered a pizza and i find a hair in my pizza. i ask the waitress to give me a new one and she gave me a side eye. the woman looked like she came from the jungle. she couldnt talk proper english. wlm

Oh, my God, do not go here!! They do not care whether it’ tastes or not, or whether there are any seats without garbage. I’m afraid that the rest of Lounge 4 will not be much better. And there is no room to eat your own food comfortably. So, come as late as you can.

This is BY FAR the WORSE COFFEE OF MY LIFE. And Im costarican, and I have traveled. 5 euro for slush. I dunno about the rest

Not worth a star (unfortunately can't go any lower), expensive, terribly dirty, service disinterested... broken tables and stools... as far as I'm concerned, don't buy anything here anymore... close that place.

You must indicate at the ATM whether or not you want to give a tip when paying in advance. Only buy two bottles of drinks and press no tip. Apparently you just pay a 10% tip afterwards. A tent with the appearance of two chewed noodles should not be allowed to ask for a standard tip in the Netherlands, especially not at Schiphol.

Unbelievable, a Red Bull costs 4.85 and when paying the saleswoman wants 5 euros. Is too lazy to give change or doesn't have any left. And tell me it costs 5 euros. But on the cash register and on the card it says 4.85. This way you can also tip yourself.

Coffee is not drinkable. So weak, it looks like ditch water and that for 3.75. So don't do that.

I've been to the one in Lounge M. Cannot even describe how rude the waitress is. She might as well have thrown coffee in my face.

It's at the lower end of what you might expect, of course at Schiphol airport prices. Basic facilities are available, but there is a lack of interest.

The hot chocolate tastes like water here. The (quite numerous) staf is not much eager to serve you either. The worst is that one has very poor choice for a snack after the security check at gate M at Schiphol, which is very regretful for a large international airport.

The service is just terrible but when you're the only bar there you can be just bad. The beer tastes good but you have to pay attention to the filling quantities, these often differ from glass to glass. The pizza serves its purpose and is filling.

Paying crazy airport prices does not allow you to pay employees a decent price, so you can actually find them? Airport website says it opens at 5.00, at 5.45 it is still closed and no one is around.

Food was old and service was unfortunately poor. Definitely to avoid if you are looking to get a bite at the airport.

Schiphol website says they close at 01:30, they closed before 19:30. Overpriced as in every airport. Tables were really dirty, basically if you want to seat better clean yourself

ANTIQUE DEALER. More than a bar I would call it a piece of traditional Dutch furniture. This refreshment point did not realize that it was located in an airport that operates 24/7 and decided to close at an indecent time: 6.28pm. I specify the minutes because it is truly embarrassing that the only place in gate M aimed at providing hot food still closes before the average person's dinner time. It is the second bar that is present at gate M and it is the one that closes later. The situation is serious.

Whether you come in the morning or in the evening after 7:30 PM, it simply closes. After it has happened to me several times, I think this is a really ridiculous café. Often filthy table, I know the passengers dirty it, but it is still filthy. Enquiry. You will receive short answers from staff. For me a bad example at Schiphol airport

They said they dont have a knife to cut the salad sauce bag they gave to us. How can i cut it then? Also the sauce was at the bottom of the salad which I noticed halfway into my salad.

Inedible croissant for 2.80, staff response “yes, I can't do anything about it”. Pre-packed bad sandwich for 6.50 euros, Mini cup of coffee for 3.55. Fortunately, the machine makes reasonable coffee

If you order 2 small coffees, they make 1 large coffee in two cups. Of course for the price of two small coffees. Next time I would order 1 large

Arrogant, antisocial staff who only talk to each other and are busy with everything except their work. When you want to order something, they are almost annoyed that you interrupt their conversation and they look at you arrogantly. Maybe time for a change?..

I had a great time in a nice place

I was certainly not thrilled with the service.... when the staff refused my payment with a 50 euro banknote, without explanation ... He said I could pay by card, unfortunately I only had cash with 50 euro banknotes ... his behavior was very arrogant and unprofessional...

If you want to pay full price for orange juice, be aware that it is fresh from the day before 😬 according to the label.. Mine was fresh because poured in the bottle only 30 hours before 😳

The food tastes okay, however it is nothing special. I chose the 'Penne Pollo' from the menu, but to my surprise it came with spaghetti instead of penne and the pine nuts that were promised on the menu were absent as well. The staff are friendly and quick. That's about it. Our American breakfast was horrible, looked like dry food from the day before, the eggs were sticky, the bread was hard and let's not talk about the salad. It's an Airport Bar and Coffee shop. Service was average, maybe mildly inattentive. Prices were high reflecting it being in an airport.

Terrible place, don't eat here!! Pasta bolognese was not cooked, not just al dente, but still raw. Brought it back, they microwaved it until white bubbles appeared on the pasta and the pasta was weirdly shrinkled. The 'cook' said yeah I can't heat it longer than normal because we get it from somewhere else and we can only heat it up for as long as this. She still wanted to give it to me, but I asked for my money back. Luckily they did.

Negative. After a wonderful holiday in Amsterdam we hadn't had breakfast in time and so we took advantage of it at the airport. We had never done this..... terrible food at an unacceptable price.

The lesson learned from this bar should be: EAT AND BUY EVERYTHING YOU NEED BEFORE ENTERING GATE M.

A very nice place in the departure hall once you have passed customs. The armchairs are very comfortable even if the tables are quite close together to maximize space. A very pleasant menu, which made me regret having eaten before going through customs! So I just ordered myself a very pleasant chamomile tea. On the left side there are also computers for connecting to the internet as well as sockets for charging your various devices, phones / iPads etc. Enjoy your tasting and enjoy your flight. It's nice to try their eggs (without the pork of course 😁), and their coffee is good, but of course their price is a little expensive,, but this is the airport, what do you do 😭,,
