Little Saigon Restaurant in Burgwallen-Oude Zijde

By far the best Pho In Amsterdam (and I’ve tried them all) the broth is really rich compared to other spots in Amsterdam. Right in Amsterdam Chinatown in the center. No reservations but I’ve never had to wait long for a table, service however could be improved. Starters are also good but the Pho is the real highlight for me. Also had an avocadoshake during my last visit, probably won’t get it again but it was good.

Good authentic pho. They open throughout Christmas when everything else closed and they always delivered. Both chicken and beef pho are highly recommended.

GREAT FOOD, was cold and rainy and warmed us back up, i had the tofu noodle soup and my partner had the beef, was delicious.

This was the worst Vietnamese food I have ever had. I ordered Vermicelli with shrimps, chicken and tofu. The dish had no taste at all, the chicken tasted old and the noodles were much too oily. My husband’s Banhmi was OK, but not really fresh and good either. Service was unfriendly. Waste of money, would definitely not go there anymore.

One of the best Banh mi places in Dam. Pho was super. They only take cash, so make sure you get cash out.

Mediocre taste. Disappoints me a bit

We were walking to Little Saigon as we had read the reviews and thought it would be nice. The atmosphere was strange and cold as soon as we entered the restaurant. We decided to sit down but wanted to wash our hands before eating but the bathroom couldn't be accessed as the had opened the basement door so it was just a big hole which you would fall into if you went to the bathroom. We asked the vaitor if we could use the bathroom and got a really angry reply and asked us in a rude manner if we wanted to sit and eat and I replied that my intention was to eat but I am not eating without washing my hands. With that rude manner we decided to leave quickly. Won't recommend it as you want to eat in a peaceful setting.

So I came in 16 o'clock, after we came from the other side of the city, because here in Google maps, the opening hours are open until 2030. It said "open" on the door, and I saw people eating. But, the minute I came in, the people looked at me. They were not nice and said that they were close and reopen at 17.

Not that original taste but okay…

Fast service, pleasant welcome, good food at affordable prices. What more could you ask for?

The rice noodles were slightly undercooked and a bit tough, but still acceptable. Additionally, the broth lacked the aromatic flavors of herbs, likely due to local ingredient limitations. They do provide bean sprouts, lime, and chili, which is great. Also, there’s fish sauce on the table, so if you’re having pho, be sure to add a little to enhance the broth.

It was not great, but not bad for another taste around the boring food 😊!Owner please put more green in the soup, make more colourful for the food and customer will say wow when you serve it!!

The store is quite small, so you need to queue up. The soup is hot enough and I think it’s delicious😋but you have to pay more to add soup~👍

In a tiny restaurant the server wanted to seat us in the dark back, when there were 4 seats by the front window. No way Jose. No one who worked there had a smile or spoke Vietnamese. They were chinese.They need to understand they need to create a warm/welcoming/friendly place for diners. Never had a Summer Roll that was so badly loosely rolled & filled mainly w/vermicelli not shrimp or veggies. The pork vermicelli was the worst I’ve had at any Vietnamese restaurant anywhere. The pork was more like leftover chopped up fatty pieces with soggy vermicelli. The Pho was ok. The Saigon beer was good as that was not made by them. Avoid this place.

The food was ordinary, and there were some likes and dislikes because the rice noodles contained something similar to beef intestines. Personally, I was okay with it. This was inconvenient as they only accepted cash.

Unfortunately the food was very poor. Noodles hard, steak tough, soup way too salty. It was fresh and the portions are reasonable.

Bun Bo Hue tasted absolutely nothing like Bun Bo Hue! And im not even comparing it to the Authentic bowl you can get in Vietnam, as an expat living in Europe for 10years and having been trying Vietnamese food from different European countries, this Bun Bo Hue is definitely at the bottom of the list. As a Vietnamese, I would not recommend this place.

The worst Asian food I've ever eaten. Zero taste.

I took a Banh Mi with lemongrass shrimp and ended up having precooked shrimp?! Zero taste of lemongrass, a little cucumber and carrots..., the bread was all white, a lot of mayonnaise sauce and a little bit of Magi sauce. A Banh Mi like that for €7, I'm disappointed :(

Worst Pho I've eaten so far. Soup wasn't strong at all, and in my opinion the chicken skin didn't have any use as an ingredient.

Great place for a quick Pho. I'm not that crazy about pho myself and then you notice that the food is not that great, especially for those who have been to Vietnam before or more often.

Unfortunately the taste is not interesting at all. Is both mine and mine Partner has been in the stomach for a long time. No special spices, more of a touristy local feel.

The duck! Get the duck. With extra herbs.it was really tasty. The shrimp noodles soup was also great. Chicken spring rolls were tasty with a sweet chilly sauce.

Das Essen war horrible und sah GAR NICHT wie Menü aus. Oh gosh the taste 🫣 it's not vietnamese dishes at all!. Der Kellner war unfreundlich (An den Kellner: just quit your job and find the one that suits you, don't show that unfriendly attitude to your customers. It's really disturbing and unconfortable).

As a Vietnamese - the dish I tried is 100% not bun bo. You can call it something else, but it’s not Vietnamese bun bo Hue.

A terrible experience. I am from Saigon, Vietnam. I know our cuisine is not this bad. The taste of the ‘bun bo’ was not right; it was not only too salty but also very bad.

I visited the place several times. The food is tasty and reasonably priced. Couldn’t ask for more.

To flee. One of the worst restaurants I have ever seen in terms of home delivery. We waited over an hour for our order only to have it canceled at the end for no good reason.

The quality degraded since covid pandemic, now the broths just taste salty and the quantity is way less. Too pricey for half a bowl filled with mostly noodles. Also since they keep changing staff, the service quality is almost non existent. If you don’t mind a pricey quick bite as a tourist, then this is your eat-and-go place.

The "bun bo hue" was disgusting and had no resemblance to the real dish. I knew from the smell I was going to feel sick eating it, it must of had 1kg of salt in there with no aromatic flavours, no lemongrass, no taste besides dirty salt water. The waiter told me this is how everyone eats it 😂 well I've never known Bun Bo Hue to have thick cuts of Char siu pork in there 🤢. They are also selling shop bought french bread, reheating it and stuffing it with an unknown meat and calling it Banh Mi 😅 Please just close down your fake Vietnamese restaurant, you are insulting real Vietnamese cuisine. Also this establishment is cash only so beware of fraudulent activity just like the fraudulent food!

We stopped for an impromptu dinner on our first night in the city, without recommendation. It has a cafe feel but the food is far beyond what the decor suggests. We had the pork chop with rice and the lemongrass beef stew with rice. Both were amazing. Really! We were blown away with the quality of our meal. The meat fell apart. In fact everyone's food in this little place looked appetising. The lemongrass beef stew was delicately fragrant and light. The pork chop was served off the bone and felt more like pork belly. It was tender and felt like it had been cooked long and slow. The sauce was warming and tangy and fried egg on rice worked really well along side it. If you've never had Vietnamese food please try this place, even if you have, try this place. This felt like really good home cooked food. If I lived here this would be a regular for us. The next night when we walked past there was a queue outside. A good recommendation!

Great Vietnamese taste, there are vegan options also. Baguette, pho, spring rolls this is what we were trying. All tasted great. Highly recommend

We had lunch there, the Pha soup really tasted like an original from Vietnam. My chicken was also seasoned Vietnamese style. Which was something completely different than usual.

they’re unreachable if there is an issue and when we used uber eats they bounced us between 4 drivers who kept canceling and left us waiting for over an hour just to cancel our order.

We had a quick dinner at this restaurant as we found that most of the Chinese restaurants there were overpriced. We had a pho with raw beef and a pho of beef combination. The pho is great and ingredients given are quite a lot, making it a very reasonable priced dinner. Restaurant is of limited space and tables are assigned quite packed.

It was alright tastewise, but their bun thịt nướng (which translates to grilled meat) was with thịt kho (which is caramelised braised meat). I asked if they are sure they served the right thing but the waitress said this would be grilled meat.

Excellent experience in Amsterdam's Chinatown. Even if the welcome is quite raw, we know that the cuisine and flavors are there. Duo of restaurateurs, one in the kitchen, the second in service and cash register. Fast service despite the number of customers in the room! Very good dishes

When I say the best pho I’ve ever had, I mean the best pho I have ever had. And that’s coming from someone who lives in NYC and has had her fair share of pho! The broth is complex and the toppings abundant. I was in Amsterdam for a short stay and had to come back a second time to experience the lemongrass beef pho again. Little Saigon, I’ll remember you forever.

Quick, tasty and reasonably priced. We needed a quick supper before returning to our hotel and this hit the spot. Varied menu which reminded us of our time in Vietnam.

Utterly delicious food ordered by Qcode menu on phone, arrives all at once. Simple cafe, good bottled beer, no wine. But again, utterly delicious. I had summer rolls which were fresh and prawn pho, which was outstanding and generous with prawns and herbs etc.

If authentic Vietnamese food is what your after avoid this place, food was so weird and bad only took a few bites and left

Little Saigon offers its patrons the first glimpse of Vietnamese cuisine with a menu of some typical dishes you can find outside Vietnam. In general, the food quality was good but the some flavors may have been adapted. The staff was friendly but you had little chance to interact because of the QR code ordering system. The place was small and cozy but could get noisy when being full. We ordered prawn spring rolls for appetizer, bún bò Huế (Huế styled beef noodles) and bún thịt nướng đăc biệt (special grilled meat noodles with salads). Both main dishes were generous in the amount of meats, large portions and had decent taste. The beef noodles however lacked the typical deep fermented shrimp flavor that made it Hue-styled. The salad noodles had many types of meats whose flavors competed each other. Maybe the phở and bánh mì would be better according to many reviews but we didn’t try them.

‘The taste of rice noodles eaten in Korea’ Rice noodles contain a lot of meat I didn't like the chicken rice bowl because it smelled like chicken. Rice noodles are delicious Orders must be placed by scanning the QR code. You can calculate it when you leave.

In the cold winter, I just want to have a bowl of beef rice noodles. The portion is not small, and a girl will be very full. The beef is very tender and the chili pepper makes it very spicy. Spring rolls are delicious too

Such HORRIBLE service! When we entered, she rudely told us "STAND OUTSIDE" of the restaurant to wait while she clear the table. Her bad attitude left a really bad taste for us! Food was not fantastic either.
