This is a must-eat in the South District! It's still delicious, and I want to keep eating here even after I move.

We got food poisoning from the chicken dish that we took away and we were flying the next day. I don’t recommend.

I was here several times years ago; back then the food was delicious! Tried it again last week and today. Both times it was a huge disappointment. I don't know how you guys managed it, but the food really wasn't tasty! The quality has gone downhill enormously. The meat was tough and dry, the noodles were as hard as rubber! The shrimp tasted TOO fishy, ​​which is a sign that it wasn't fresh! The air conditioning was also off during this heatwave, and there was no background music. Sorry, but I am NEVER coming back here. Too bad, because I used to be a real fan of yours.

A decent Vietnamese food for a chain. I had the beef noodle salad which was tasty even tho the noodles were not too soft. Bhan mi was ok but the summer rolls were good.

Unfortunately, the pho was not the best I have eaten. The usual garnishes, such as fresh herbs, bean sprouts, and lime, were served with it, but I did not find the taste very authentic. In my opinion, the taste resembled Chinese cuisine more than the traditional Vietnamese cuisine as I know it. Additionally, the wait staff spoke almost exclusively English. This can be difficult for customers who primarily speak Dutch and have limited English skills. All in all, I found the experience somewhat disappointing. If you are looking for authentic Vietnamese cuisine, I would personally not recommend this place. I hope that in the future, the dishes will acquire a more authentic Vietnamese flavor and come closer to traditional Vietnamese cuisine. It would also be nice if communication with Dutch-speaking customers improved. Personally, I would like to see more authentic Vietnamese restaurants open in the area in the future so that there is more choice for lovers of traditional Vietnamese cuisine.

The lunch set was a nice choice. But I will go for the full Pho bowl next time. The fried spring rolls with the lunch set were very mini. I could remember in the past at Leidseplein that Saigon caphe had better presentation and more in portion with the lunch set. But that was very long time ago though.. miss that kind of quality.

We visited for lunch and found the service to be efficient and good. However, the food was a bit disappointing. As big fans of Vietnamese cuisine, we felt the dishes lacked authenticity. The Pho noodles didn't taste fresh, the spicy noodle soup (Bun Bo Hue) was bland rather than spicy, and the Vietnamese pancake lacked the traditional crispiness. We expected a bit more flavor and authenticity from the kitchen, but appreciate the great service.

Tasty food and very good cold beer. I recomend to try all beers from menu. Very good Pho soup with beef balls and chicken in sweet souse.

I wasn't feeling well during my trip, so I canceled my entire itinerary and returned to the hotel. Having not eaten all day, I ended up ordering pho through a delivery app. It was expensive, but the packaging was neat and it was delivered warm, which was great. That chili pepper on top as a garnish is the highlight.

I had a very disappointing experience at Saigon Caphe Gelderlandplein. The food did not taste fresh and seemed frozen, which unfortunately caused me a stomach ache afterward. It was one of the worst restaurant meals I’ve had recently. The service was also rushed — the staff took our order without properly confirming it and later told us we had to accept it because it could not be cancelled. Overall, the experience was unpleasant and far below expectations. As a food blogger, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Pho was still ok but the banh xeo (savory pancakes) was bad. I almost never call something bad but it was weirdly sour, very thick and not the right texture and had very little filling and the wrong filling bc it was chicken ham 😭. I'm not sure if they want to be an authentic vietnamese restaurant but even if they didnt, they should make sure the food is at least good.

I was here a few days ago and the food was really bland it barely had any flavor and it tasted like instant ramen. The service was fine don’t have anything bad to say about them and the atmosphere was nice. Their ice teas are really good tho but just get instant ramen.

Found some wonderful vegetarian options here! The loempias were absolutely delicious. The vegetarian pho was also very good—tasty and light. I found myself wanting a touch more salt, but it’s possible that’s just the authentic style of the dish. A great choice if you're looking for a healthy and flavorful lunch.

Really terrible, ordered a latte, got a cappuccino, the food was tough, as if it had been prepared in advance, the staff simply couldn't answer a few simple questions.

Made wrong decision to have lunch in this place. Food was very low quality. Everything you touch felt sticky. And service especially from girl with nose ring was very immature. A sad ending for great experience in Netherlands.

The meats are prepared a bit differently from the US, but the tase is very much what I expected from a bowl of hot pho in a freezing day. The service is fast and good.

Just a quick bite. Saigon Càphê is on Gelderlandplein. Ah, two fried softshell crabs. Mmm. It took a while, but there they were, two squishy, ​​completely soaked in frying fat, rancid-tasting crabs that I, of course, didn't eat. I asked for the bill. No one asked why I left those disgusting things, and I paid. Yuck.

The Bun Bo Hue tasted very bland. Lack of flavor and the soup temperature was not hot enough. The (overcooked) rice noodles were just normal thin rice noodles. Not the ones usually served with BBH. Ice coffee was just average. Dissapointing meal.

Hello! I'd like to add an idea: please don't add green onions or cilantro to food; instead, put them in a bowl nearby. It's just that some people like it, and some don't. Thank you for your understanding. Otherwise, everything is delicious.

This used to be one of my go to place but today everything was disappointing. Chicken tasted not fresh fried rice was so hard I can’t believe they charged 4 euro extra. Lemongrass tea also tasted too sour. What a pity will not be coming back

One of the worst Vietnamese restaurants I have ever been to. The rice was so hard it crushed. Meat which tasted frozen, and the chicken had a very unpleasant odor. I honestly don’t understand how food like this could be served at a table, especially for over 60 euros. Completely unacceptable.

We regularly come here for a bowl of delicious and well-filled pho. Other dishes are also very good. And so are the homemade iced teas, and not to forget the desserts! The staff is efficient and always friendly.

While the food is decent the service seems to be deteriorating. The website has most of the items on the menu as “sold out” while they are available for delivery to for a higher price + delivery! The worse part is calling the restaurant when staff answer, don’t speak and keep the receiver off so no new calls can come in and you cannot place any order or ask any questions. Absolutely frustrating and unprofessional.

The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the service is quick. However, be aware that there's no coat racks - people have nowhere to put their outerwear and end up sitting around like it's a train station. Also, the restroom cleanliness could definitely be improved.

I had some amazing pho here! I had the special and asked if the beef stomach could be left out. This was no problem; I even got some extra meat. Very thoughtful. The staff was also super friendly and attentive! Definitely worth a visit (or coming back).

I ordered shrimp and rice, but unfortunately, it was very disappointing. The portion was quite meager, especially the rice—there was really very little for a €23 dish for one person. For this price, you expect a generous and complete meal. Too bad, this wasn't a good experience.

We eat here regularly... We had small bugs in the pho once. Okay, it happens. Maybe the lettuce wasn't washed? Annoying, but probably just an isolated incident. Last time, we had bugs in the pho for the second time. Okay, so it's a regular occurrence. We sent feedback to the pickup team but never heard anything back.

A bit overrated on TikTok and other social media channels. Pho Ga was delicious, a mushroom bouillon cube. It certainly didn't taste authentic, but it was well-filled with chicken, but it was disappointing. The duck rice was inedible. The duck was dry and tasted old, definitely not worth €20. The salad roll with grilled shrimp and chicken skewers was tasty and fresh, but I wouldn't go back.

It's hard to find food that suits Korean tastes in Amsterdam, but Vietnamese food is good. It was delicious.

It seems like the quality of the food depends on the chef's mood. If he's having a bad day, you can taste it right away on your plate. It feels like we, as guests, are just expected to go along with his mood – and that shouldn't be the case, of course. If you read the comments below, you'll only see standard responses. They don't even really look at the reviews or respond to the content. It's a shame, it doesn't come across as genuine 🤷🏻‍♀️ You might as well not respond at all; it comes across as very impersonal and disinterested.

ordered a take away ( had the tofu noodles dish with chicken spring rolls), was the only thing I ate yesterday- woke up at 2 am with horrible food poisoning. same day as i injured my ankle aa well, litr can’t walk and now throwing my guts out 😭 update: THIS IS THE WORST FOOD POISONING OF MY LIFE. I had to be hospitalised at 5 am because it was that bad and wouldn’t stop, I also don’t have health insurance here yet so that costed a bunch. I felt my absolute worst, and it still keeps going, at least hospital injections helped a bit. DO NOT EAT HERE.

Me and my girlfriend ordered food from here. Tasted fine. But gave us the worlds worst food poisoning imaginable. Bad food quality does that to you. Do not recommend at all. Avoid risking food poisoning and just go eat elsewhere.

I participated in the 2025 sail Amsterdam. My children treated me to the lemongrass beef noodles at this restaurant. The beef was very tender and the soup was rich.

Our visit was not as expected. We had high expectations based on the reviews, but encountered the following: • The food had little to no flavor, so despite our appreciation for Vietnamese cuisine, we left a large portion untouched. • I ordered fresh coconut juice, served in a coconut. However, the flesh turned out to be too old and so hard that it was impossible to eat with a spoon. This significantly diminished the overall experience. The juice also seemed watered down, which made the taste disappointing. • There were no sunshades, which made it very hot in the sun. I realize I chose to sit by the window, but sunshades would have made the stay more pleasant for guests. • The restaurant felt cluttered, dusty, and dirty; the restroom was also unclean. • During our stay, there were a noticeable number of flies, which significantly diminished our dining experience.

Wonderful Viet food here. The broth is tasty and we miss asian food. This restaurant certainly serve great noodle in Amsterdam. We are staying in Crowne Plaza South. A short walk from the hotel.

Hue beef noodle soup is salty like salt, the broth has a lot of annatto oil color, feels greasy and not right taste. Pho and beef noodle soup have only a few slices of meat. Female staff attitude is bad and disrespectful to customers, no one says goodbye when leaving... advise people not to come here to enjoy!!!!

I used to be a fan of this restaurant, but the last two times I've been there, it's been bad. The meat is pre-cooked and is cold and tough, and the rice is old and hard, sticking together in chunks. It's nothing like it used to be when everything was fresh. The service is functional but nothing special. Last time I went, it was the last time.

Ordered two pho today. The second bite had a dead fly on my spoon. I immediately called the staff, but they didn't want us to do it anymore. The staff initially tried to deny it. When we left, they said, "Bye, you're going somewhere else." Very rude, and indeed, we went elsewhere. Unsanitary. We'd eaten here before, but never again.

I had lunch there on 7 July. The wait staff was not super friendly and more interested in speaking with each other than taking care of customers. Based on reviews I read, I had expectations about the food and was disappointed. First of all, I ordered the Banh Xheo. It was definitely not authentic. They didn’t provide with the necessary, herbs and lettuce that is traditionally served on the side, and I had to pay extra when I asked for it. The pancake was not crispy as should be the case, it was quite Soggy and somewhat bland. This is such a simple dish to make, and it was disappointing that no effort was made here. I also ordered the Vietnamese spareribs. Again, here little effort was made. The ribs were fried and served on a bed of rice, but we’re not crispy and again rather bland. The nuoc mam was watery. If you’re looking to have an authentic Vietnamese meal, I would suggest to go elsewhere. However, if you’re seeking for a quick Asian Influenced meal And you’re not too picky you might be satisfied enough.

Great food! Big portions & fair prices compared to others. Menu discounts during lunch time (really worth it). Free parking in the mall or the street. I'm a regular visitor, always happy to visit this place.

Altijd zeer goed geweest. Nu niet meer. Beef taai vol met zenen. Soep bijna geen smaak weinig kip teveel spaghetti. Behoudt de kwaliteit alsjeblieft. Zo gaat de zaak achteruit Waarom is dit nou nodig. Klanten zijn niet gek. Wij komen niet meer. Terwijl we 3 maal in de maand kwamen. Ik zou graag wat anders schrijven.

As a regular customer we had a disappointing experience here: when eating desert we ordered more ice cream for the kids to eat with the fried banana. Meanwhile the waitress took a dish of fried banana that we were still eating and threw it away! Staff didnt do anything about it. No new dish / no discount on the bill. Guess we are paying for food that gets trown away now...

The soup is hot enough, which is very important in a place as cold as the Netherlands! ! There are so many noodles that you can feel very full, and the meat is also delicious.

As somebody that grew up eating Vietnamese food, their pho was a dissapointment. The broth was just salt water with no flavour from spices typically used for pho. If you are looking for authentic vietnamese food, this is not the restaurant. Friendly staff though. The seat cushions were also really stained. Kinda gross to sit on.

we order food on line， then they just cancel it when we were on the way. Then we direct go there and order pho and other items， but we don’t know why everybody of our four vomited after we ate pho 15-20min.

Everything here is on top, the Pho was so delicate. We came here for lunch without reservation and had to wait for a while. So yeah, you should book a place before dinning in.

Food was fine. We had to look for service and it had been on the back of her phone for quite some time. The place really needs to be cleaned thoroughly because the lighting, windows, walls, in fact everything was very dirty. Partly because of this, we will not come back here again
