I have been a regular customer for years and eat here regularly. I usually order donuts and burgers. That is why I find what happened today particularly unfortunate. My order number was 20 and the number before me was 19. When the employee called out the orders, he said “19 and 20”. However, I understood that as if he was only saying “29”. Because of this, I thought my order was not ready yet and kept waiting. I then waited for more than fifteen minutes. During that time, I looked at the employee several times, and he looked in my direction too. Yet, no one told me that my order was ready. Eventually, I went to the counter myself. Then the employee said that this was my order. I replied that I had ordered a cassis instead of a cola. He then indicated that he had made a mistake in that regard. Moreover, on the order displayed on the counter, I saw a cola listed, whereas I had ordered a cassis. That only confirmed to me that it could not be my order. When I explained that I had waited all that time, the response I received was that I shouldn't have been wearing earbuds or headphones if I wanted to hear him. That is true, but the music was playing softly and I could hear everything just fine. I therefore found that remark rude and disrespectful. Of course, it is possible that I misheard him, but I genuinely thought he had only mentioned number 29. What disappoints me most is that the employee saw that I kept waiting. A small effort, such as mentioning my number again or making a hand gesture, could have solved the problem immediately. If I hadn't come to the counter myself, I probably would have waited much longer. Eventually, I received my food, but by then it was cold. I could have refused it, but I didn't want to make a fuss about it. There are plenty of restaurants where you can eat well. We travel all the way to you specifically because we were always satisfied and enjoyed eating at your place. That is precisely why this experience disappoints me so much. Unfortunately, this experience has significantly changed my perception of your establishment.

At Darko’s, they really know their burgers! Meat smashed well and a good Maillard reaction. I was a bit skeptical about their own peanut butter sauce on the burgers, but it works! When I’m in Nijmegen again, I’ll be back.

The fries were top quality, although there could have been a few more. The wait time was short. The service was friendly and the place itself was nicely decorated. Unfortunately, the burger, which is the main reason you come here, was of really poor quality. It had a very simple bun that was quite soggy, and the burger itself didn't have much flavor; it was thin and dry. But it did come with a high price tag for what it is. I certainly wouldn't come back here for the burgers.

The meal was OK. Not the greatest but not a shame either. And price to size ratio is great. Ordered the meal deal with N8 double chicken and swapped the fries with sweet potato fries for extra 50 cents.

Service is incredibly slow, we waited 30 mins for a humburger. I wouldn't say the taste is bad, but it's nothing special.

Kind of a mixed experience. ill start by saying the fries(sweet) are great and its well worth grabbing the menu. The indoor seating is also cozy though not very spacious and not having a restroom is a big minus. When it comes to the burger, whats wrong kind of stood out before even taking a bite. The patties are smashed to another dimension that makes you think its popeye working the kitchen. When the meat is this thin the standard should definitely be two patties per burger. The rest of the ingredients were fine but when you cant even taste the meat theres no point in having smashburgers. I would be down revisit after a small rework, cheers.

Well, Darko's mainly serves smash burgers with a hefty price tag and interesting toppings. The owner's story is entertaining and makes you feel connected to the restaurant. The staff was friendly. There's really nothing to complain about. The fries were tasty, but quite expensive for a relatively small portion. The same goes for the sauce. They use Belgian mayonnaise (similar to Zaanse mayonnaise), which I personally like, but it's not specified anywhere, and I know people who don't want to know about it. Now, the burger. The challenge of making a smash burger lies mainly in the grill temperature and the cooking time. If the temperature is too low, the outside won't caramelize quickly enough; if it's too high, your burgers will burn. Too short, and the meat won't be cooked through; too long, and it will turn into a hockey puck. A good smash burger has a crispy outside with a juicy, tender center. My burger, which cost €12.50, was a hockey puck. This is disappointing for a restaurant that focuses almost exclusively on making smash burgers. It's okay for a quick bite, but I won't be returning anytime soon.

The absolute, absolute, absolute best donuts and burgers. The owner is always so friendly and welcoming. I have been a loyal customer for several years (even back when he was still selling from home!) and recommend everyone stop by here!

Finally! My family had already been there 10 times for donuts: while shopping, after football, before an NEC match, and so on. We even took a donut all the way to the Goffert supermarket to take a picture, but I kept fishing for the fryer basket. Yesterday, the time had finally come: I went in. Snackspert was right: they have amazing sandwiches here, as well as super delicious donuts. I haven't tried everything on the menu yet (obviously), but I'll be back soon. The people behind the counter are super friendly, too. Top-notch.

Cozy little restaurant, and affordable. The burger was ok, not more. I like the Smash type, however, this one was a bit too smashed. Hardly felt like eating a burger, rather like a slice of bacon between the bun halfs. But the fries were awesome: Thick but crispy, haven't seen that kind yet. And it seemed as if the place didn't have a restroom, that was inconvenient.

I had quite a few burgers here and there in different countries last summer, but I can't mention all these places in the same sentence as Darko's because they're simply not on the same level. It's simply really good, that's all I can say. It tastes fantastic, the prices are very competitive in my opinion, and the owner exudes passion. It's great that the calories and macros are also included in the menu, making it convenient for sports enthusiasts who want to watch their diet. At the time of writing, they have a 4.9-star rating based on about 220 reviews. And that's absolutely deserved.

The burgers were full of flavor and juicy (#1 and #2). The sweet potato fries were crunchy, though a bit on the salty side. Less salt would have tasted great too. The wide variety of donuts were gorgeously decorated and oh so sweet. Our favorite would have to be the.. classic glazed version (goes well with a black coffee) and the 'Rafaello' one as well since we love coconut. If you don't have a sweet tooth you'll get one here.

Got a delicious smashed burger and ate it at home. Even though the fries are delivered in a separate container without a lid (just a napkin and a cold can of cola on top), they are still reasonably warm when you get home. The burger was delicious and well balanced, but when we got home there was little left of the crispy/burned pieces that you normally expect with a smashed burger, but that is of course also due to the sauce/peanut butter and not eating it immediately. I will definitely come back for a burger, hopefully the extraction system will work a little better, because everything smells like food, even my can of coke haha.

I came for donuts, I left with food for home as well. Long story short I drove 20km to try them out. I am so happy I did. The best burgers I have ever eaten. The bun it's so soft, the patties are amazing. (I recommend nr 9 if you like chicken and nr 2 for beef) The fries were fresh and tasty (had a lot of spices, not the normal boring salty one's) oh and the sauces are special as well. Coming to donuts, they are just a guilty pleasure. My favorite was the cronut cookie dough but my girlfriend preferred the biscoff one. If you haven't tried them yet I don't know what you are waiting for. They are worth every cent P. S. The owner was really friendly as well

Had delicious smashed burgers at Darkos! The burger was very tasty, with fresh ingredients and a good balance of flavors. The staff was also friendly and hospitable, which made the experience complete. A little tip: it might be an idea not to put sauce on the bottom of the sandwich. This way the bun remains firmer and does not become too soft. You can also choose which sauce you want on your burger. Fries could use a little less salt/powder. All in all, definitely recommended and I would love to come back!

I was introduced to Darko during the summer parties, delicious burgers. Darko has now moved to a larger building and sells burgers/fries and donuts and has returned. Delicious smash burgers with tasty cheese and a surprising ingredient with peanut butter! In addition, delicious fries with herbs and good mayonnaise. And of course I took a donut home for dessert.
