The food was delicious! The steak salad and Bali tenderloin were super tender and flavorful. The portion was more than ample. The refreshing mocktail topped it all off. Relaxed atmosphere and great service.

We went to dinner with the family on Wednesday evening. As usual, the food at Loetje was delicious. But damn, the service was terrible. Our first drink arrived at the same time as the starter, which was ordered 10 minutes later. Getting someone to come to the table to order a drink proved impossible. Despite a nice break between courses, they didn't even manage to come by, resulting in the starter plates still being on the table when they brought the main course. We even skipped dessert because they didn't return to the table to order. Perhaps it would be better on other days, or when the terrace is closed, but this was truly hopeless.

On medical advice, I follow a plant-based diet. A bit hesitant, but also very curious, I took the Steak 0.0. I really like meat and am normally not a fan of substitutes, but this was a really good alternative. The texture and taste were so close to a real steak that I didn't notice the difference. My friend, who had a "real" steak and tasted a piece of mine, was even impressed. The service was a bit slow. It was also a bit busier, but we had already finished our dinner for an hour when we decided to get the service ourselves for the dessert menu. That could have been more alert. But all in all, definitely worth repeating.

The food was very tasty and of good quality. Unfortunately, it took a long time before someone came to us after we had finished our plates. Staff regularly walked past us and also raised our hands, but they pretended not to see us. Furthermore, the service was very nice and they explained well how everything worked at Loetje.

Moreover, the drinks are incredibly expensive. Once a beer was ordered and it never came. After asking again we got the answer that they were cleaning! It was not even 20:30! Been to Loetje in Zeist before and that was really different.

Large noisy hall, no atmosphere at all. Kind of a food shed. Vegan burger was okay, I found the other burgers very meager for the price. Took quite a while before the food arrived. Our service was grumpy, someone who came later when something had gone wrong was a lot more pleasant.

Due to traffic jam on the A27 we went to Loetje at 4 pm to have a drink and something to eat. We didn't have a reservation. We were 'welcomed' by a girl with: 'you're not staying for hours, are you? Then you can sit on a bench against the wall...' The whole place was empty... Not that you say: a warm welcome.. The girl probably missed the 'hospitality' entrance test

A good restaurant to eat with children. It is very busy and noisy and very massive. I had the strong impression that there was not enough staff. The steak was good though.

Very nice atmosphere, food was fresh and good quality. Staff friendly and fast. Prices are resonable. The garden is pleasant to sit and cozy.

After reading so many negative reviews we were hesitant to go, but...... We have to say it: it was beyond expectations! Our "regular" hostess/waitress (Megan) was way above average...... our food was delicious! We certainly do not regret coming to Houten. To the review readers: don't look back at all the bad reviews but go and experience it yourself! We recommend it to you!

Our first time Loetje steak. It was really delicious. Too bad all side dishes have to be paid extra. Still strange, a dish without vegetables and/or fries or potatoes, while it is already not cheap. Drinks also expensive. So this adventure was a one-off.

We had high expectations, but our visit was very disappointing. After ordering, we had to wait an extremely long time, only to find out that they had simply forgotten us! The only “excuse” we got was: “It’s busy.” No apologies, no solution, nothing. When the food finally arrived, it was cold. We sent it back of course. Fortunately, we were then helped by a friendly lady who really showed understanding – that deserves a compliment. In addition, it was extremely noisy. The restaurant is located in an old farmhouse with high ceilings, which means that the sound bounces in all directions. It was almost impossible to have a normal conversation. Not really the atmosphere in which you want to dine quietly. The food itself, when it finally arrived, was quite tasty. But to be honest, that does not outweigh the bad service and the long wait. We really felt ignored. Not recommended – there are plenty of other places where you are treated as a guest.

After an evening of shopping at Baby Dump we decided to have a quick meal at Loetje Houten. Reception was good, but after that we seemed almost invisible. After waiting 20 minutes I asked for a menu myself and when ordering we called someone to take our order. Furthermore, the food was excellent, large portions and served quickly. Checkout was also very difficult to get anyone's attention. Room for improvement

Loetje is always good. I thought. The quality of the food here is simply excellent. But the organization and service are flawed. You arrive with a reservation at 7 p.m. on a Wednesday and when you order you are told that there are only 2 steak tartare left. Choose for yourself who can still order it. Just before the main course arrives you are suddenly told, the tuna salad is finished, would you like something else? When the main courses are brought, you order a drink. It only comes after about fifteen minutes, when the food is gone. And the side dishes, bread with the steak and mushrooms and onions only arrive 5 minutes after the steak itself. And then also terrible acoustics in the conservatory. Not the best experience. Definitely go to Loetje, but choose another location.

Best steak in the country 😄 Gravy can be halved but is delicious. The white bread is too much and why not white and brown or choice. Desserts disappointing.

If you order steak, there will be an additional price. For fries, vegetables or applesauce. Then I think it will be very pricey. For what you get.

Steak is the specialty. I was okay with it, not anymore. The fries supplied were not crispy, rather limp and lukewarm. Maybe it's been there for a while. The system cannot handle ordering half a glass of wine (BOB). Apparently they don't think from the customer's perspective here. Fortunately, a table companion also wanted half a glass. They then pour a little less into 2 glasses. Very special and out of date.

Biefstuk is de specialiteit. Ik vond het oké, niet meer. De bijgeleverde friet was niet knapperig, eerder slap en lauwwarm. Stond misschien al even. Een half glas wijn bestellen (BOB) kan het systeem niet aan. Ze denken hier blijkbaar niet vanuit de klant. Gelukkig wilde een tafelgenoot ook een half glas. Ze schenken dan in 2 glazen wat minder. Heel apart en niet van deze tijd.

The all the food looked great and my dinner was very good I had the boli steak. the service and staff were excellent. All around a pleasant experience.

Met ons zessen toch gezellig 2 uur lang kunnen vertoeven onder het genot vaan een lekker medium biefstukje met patat, salade en plakjes wit brood om heerlijk te soppen in de pittige jus waar ik om had gevraagd. RBediening was redelijk allert en aardig, hoede keus uit nagerechten. In tegenstelling tot de reviews die ik gelezen hebt bij mijn voorgangers is het voor ons allen, namelijk 3 koppels, voor herhaling vatbaar. Tot de volgende keer.

No, it's gone. Ok, can happen. Is there any steak with chicken liver worth the red? Yes! Cool! Other portions can be prepared mise en place, I'm looking forward to that. No chicken liver on my steak, but extra Champions, just not told at the table. So pay 6.5 euros extra for Champions. Perhaps I would have eaten the calf's liver? Dessert from Loetje on the table, enjoy it! No, it's gone. Worthless if you cannot manage or adjust expectations. "Is everything OK?" No question at checkout "how can we solve this? Should we take the chicken liver from? Get the bill twice?" In short, this is where you eat if you have allergies and want to die. Or if you want to pay for services that you do not receive. It was the first and also the very last time at a Loetje for me. Worthless catering. Embarrassing.

Recently had dinner at Loetje Houten, appetizer was very tasty, service early in the evening was also excellent. As a main course I ordered a steak, which is served on a plate with a thick layer of gravy. You can order side dishes separately that are not even included in the price. The salad I ordered was really shocking. A pulled apart head of iceberg lettuce with minimal dressing and an egg cut into wedges. Anyway, where do you put this, because your plate is full of gravy... So let's eat from the salad container that 4 of us were trying to pick from. Service was nowhere to be found after the 2nd drink. Dessert could therefore no longer be ordered. When we finally found someone, we just asked for the bill. The dear young man acted as if he had no interest in life anymore and also seemed extremely grumpy. In short, for less money I can eat much better at another restaurant where they also have good service. I'll never come here again.

You can get by with it, food is okay. It is more of a kind of food bar where mass and cash register are central. Some staff members really do their best, but there is also a gypsy walking around who clearly doesn't feel like doing his job. It is really on the expensive side, you can eat at nicer places for 160.- with 3 people.

We had high expectations, but unfortunately... Service was substandard, people did not come by to ask for drinks or the like. We both had 'De Roode Waard' which was with chicken liver and bacon. Steak was almost raw and not medium. We also had to wait an hour before we could order our main course, even though the biggest crowds were already gone. The gravy with the steak was just greasy and salty, you couldn't really call it gravy. Really very disappointing, we won't do it again.

Steak in two pieces which was really less than the ordered portion and poorly cooked. Mentioned at checkout, you will receive an annoyed "my apologies". Things have gone wrong often enough for us at this specific Loetje branch.

This is the 4th time I come to eat here. In the past this was quite a good restaurant, but unfortunately it is declining on all fronts. Nowadays it gives the feeling of a fast-food restaurant at a high price: The service is slow (waiting fifteen minutes before your first drink is requested, drinks that are not delivered, dessert 'forgotten') and the prices are really far too high for the quality (so you pay a lot extra for some fries with an overpriced main course) and experience. You really get the idea that this is a money machine. Too bad, but we won't be coming back to (this) Loetje.

Nice atmosphere, great food.. as long as you don't have a gluten allergy. Unfortunately there was gluten in the starter which made us leave with a stomach ache. While this was indicated.

Those steaks at Loetje are so delicious. It remains a good concept. But the burger was also very tasty, let alone the desserts. The space in Houten is spacious and tastefully decorated. It can be hectic if there are large groups. Then the conservatory is a better location.

Went again for lunch after 2 years and what a disappointment. It was very quiet and we were sent to less nice tables. Ultimately requested a table for 4 people. If you like steak then you've come to the right place.

We eat here when we fancy a nice steak. One chooses the classic and the other chooses the garlic variant. With white bread to mop up the gravy. The mushrooms and onions that you can order are a nice addition. For dessert I can absolutely recommend the sticky toffee, but you should still have room for it, it is mighty! Furthermore, the staff was friendly and helpful. The only disadvantage may be that it is a bit noisy because it is always busy. Parking is free in front of the door, very nice!

What a nice staff!! The lady who helped us quickly realized that our 15-year-old son is autistic and she stood next to him to explain to him carefully and calmly what is on their carpaccio. This allowed us to enjoy our dinner without stress. So nice. Another friendly man who helped clear the table accidentally made a very small stain on our daughter's blouse because something fell. No problem for us, but he also handled this so professionally. And the stain came out very easily. But it's nice that they indicate attention here in a good, neat way. We come here often for lunch and it is always good. My favorite is 12 o'clock. But the steak is also very tasty. Last time I had some trouble keeping an eye on us. Fortunately, a colleague of his was alert and provided good service.

Met vriendinnen geweest. Loetje Houten gekozen omdat we daar goede ervaringen hadden. Maar wat een tegenvaller deze keer. Het begon al met het brood wat niet vers was. We gingen er vanuit dat we daar niets van zouden merken, want lekker dopen in de jus. Maar waar we voorheen altijd een bord kregen met enorm veel jus, was het nu karig. En toen gingen we dame blanche bestellen waar we het zelfde probleempje hadden, een piepklein schaaltje met chocoladesaus…voorheen een grote schaal. 1 van de vriendinnen was pas geleden nog in loetje Zeist geweest en daar had ze toch wel een hele andere ervaring. Jammer, maar Loetje Houten slaan wij voortaan over.

Always tasty, I think they are getting more and more expensive, steak costs from €25, but then additional site dishes will be added, so I will never leave there for less than €100 for 2 people. Service is great, especially when it is busy, it is difficult to get attention if you want to order something you like.

Was okay, but Loetje has become a bit overrated. You don't get what you are told and little for what you pay. But the steak was good!

Had lunch here last week. It wasn't the first time for us, probably the last. I had a traditional sandwich with tuna salad, with apple, pepper and sun-dried tomatoes. What a meager sandwich! There were no apples or peppers. And no less than one mini piece of sun-dried tomato. The amount of tuna salad was really unusually small. What a travesty for 11 euros! The staff was very friendly. Too bad, but we won't be coming anymore.

Food is tasty, but not very healthy and of mediocre quality. Map is not clear about food chain (organic, etc.).

Ordered tenderloin medium, raw and served cold, ordered salad, it contained old lettuce with a brown deposit on it, sticky toffee for dessert, as greasy as dirt, a very long wait before the service came to the table, 1 hour wait for food, luckily with good company, otherwise it was a long one evening

De naam Loetje was al vaker gevallen in de vriendenkring en nu wilden wij het zelf eens proberen. Eerst het positieve, de bediening was goed , personeel was gewoon aardig en efficient. Nu het negatieve, je zit in een grote ruimte wat aanvoelt als een kantine. Dan bestel je een biefstuk van 150 gram voor 23,50 euro en die verzuipt in een veel te zoute saus. Patat en salade kosten je 13 euro bij elkaar. Dan zit je eigenlijk vlees met witbrood te eten en de salade was gedrenkt in een dressing uit een fles. Geef dan 10 euro meer uit en ga eten Bij Teus. Dan krijg je kwalitatief zeer goed eten. Wij komen hier in ieder geval nooit meer voor deze prijzen en met deze kwaliteit

What a disappointment. Nasty and unfriendly waiter. Fries were missing from the order. Kitchen refused to add bacon to a hamburger. The Asian dressing was missing from the chicken/bacon salad, which made the chicken taste strange and look like 'leftovers' from another dish. Coffee and hot chocolate were lukewarm/cold. The dessert menu was simply not brought and every question was answered curtly. Not worth repeating.

We waren uitgenodigd om te lunchen en aangezien ik daar al een paar keer matig had gegeten (biefstuk te doorbakken, koude jus) was ik vooraf wat terughoudend. En terecht, want naast de bediening, die duidelijk geen zin had om te werken, waren onze gerechten matig. De salade kip met bacon, wat er dus wel was maar wat de kok weigerde aan een hamburger toe te voegen, was bijna zonder dressing, aan de kip zat weinig smaak. Mijn uitsmijter was wel ok, maar daar straalde het vakmanschap ook niet van af. De koffie uit de volautomaat, een no no in mijn koffiewereld, was lauw, de warme chocolademelk koud. Het concept is leuk, maar zonder gemotiveerd personeel sta je als zaak machteloos. De bestelde patat kwam niet, personeel was nergens te bekennen en de kaart voor het toetje moesten we zelf pakken omdat de drie heren met elkaar stonden te kletsen. Alls die met hun rug naar de gasten. Slordig!

The concept is nice, but without motivated staff your business is powerless. The fries we ordered did not arrive, the staff was nowhere to be seen and we had to get the dessert menu ourselves because the three gentlemen were chatting with each other. All three with their backs to the guests. Sloppy!

Had dinner at Loetje Houten for my son's 21st birthday. Steak was delicious even though we had to wait a long time for it. Older lady serving was very friendly. But it was terribly cold there, really not normal..... We sat at the front of the hall/conservatory and every time the outside door opened a big cold draft came in even though it was already so cold. I sat with my scarf around me and coat over my legs. Bit of a downer.

Main course: The December special, Beef Tenderloin Truffle, was very tasty, especially the pulled beef. However, the truffle flavor was a little more subtle than I expected; I personally could have tasted it a little stronger. Side dish: The sweet potato fries are definitely recommended! In addition, the Loetje Lemonade is a wonderfully refreshing drink to order with your meal. Dessert: The Sticky Toffee Cake, served warm, is tasty, but after a few bites I had enough. I also noticed that the cake was not completely fresh anymore. Other impressions: The location is beautiful and the staff is friendly.

Jammer een gemiste kans. De zeetong op het menu blijken 2 sliptongetjes te zijn die in zoals het lijkt in dezelfde jus gebakken waren als de biefstuk. Gevraagd of de zeetong alleen in de roomboter gebakken zou worden maar deze sliptongetjes dreven in werkelijk in de biefstukjus getver. Helaas.

On Boxing Day, the three of us went to Loetje in Houten, received super friendly service and delicious food. Loetje Breukelen's negative memory of Boxing Day 2023 has thus been erased.
