The atmosphere is cozy, the service was friendly and fast, but a blonde waitress kept bumping into my chair when she passed by, and she had a grumpy expression on her face, so I only gave it a 3-star rating. The steak itself was tasty, but the shou was disgusting and too black, which almost all of us experienced heartburn. The schnitzel and dessert were good. So, I don't think it's worth the price; it's too expensive.

We had dinner with 8 people on Christmas Day. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent, especially the steak! Unfortunately, we couldn't order dessert because the time shift was almost over! While two other tables of at least 10 people still had it! They wouldn't have had to wait 45 minutes for our starters, then another 45 minutes for the main course. Such a shame, especially on Christmas Day.

Pros: The 0.0 steak is exceptionally good, and the food is fresh and high-quality. Cons: Otherwise, it's all very ordinary: the grilled vegetables are a small bowl of cauliflower and carrots, the fried mushrooms are only fried with a little salt, and the bread is just a stack of slices of white bread. My husband (a meat eater) preferred my 0.0 steak to his tenderloin steak.

It's a shame the AH discount shop sold lunch, and you assumed it was valid for a year, and when you wanted to make a reservation, you saw it was only valid for four months. So, no lunch.

Five shining stars for Loetje Nijmegen! At Loetje Nijmegen, we were served by Fleur—a name that pretty much says it all: a true gem. She has such a cheerful, open demeanor that your mood automatically improves. A brief eye contact and voila, there she was, super friendly, back at the table with a smile as if she were polishing it in the dishwasher. Fleur was always up for a joke, incredibly attentive, and extremely helpful. She recommended the speculoos cheesecake for dessert, and honestly, it was so delicious that we almost forgot we were actually eating in Nijmegen, not in the finals of Heel Holland Bakt (The Dutch Bake Off). The only downside: they were out of steak tartare. In short: a fantastic evening, fantastic service, and above all: Fleur deserves a promotion and unlimited cheesecake.

Wow, after a hard day at the office, I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. I'd been invited by friends. The day was rough, and my colleagues knew exactly how to wear me down. Despite my fatigue and doubts, I finally stepped into this Loetje restaurant a few hours later. It was fantastic. The service, the food, and just the delightful atmosphere. Definitely worth coming back for more, thanks!

We had a fantastic dinner at this amazing restaurant in Amsterdam. The service was top-notch notch and the filet mignon and the Wiener Schnitzel was outstanding. I would definitely go back to this fantastic restaurant.

The tartare with sauce and arugula was excellent. The beer was excellent, and the espresso was unbeatable (just like everywhere else in the Netherlands).

Delicious food! Good and friendly service. The steak was just as it should be, and the appetizers were also very tasty and well-seasoned. The desserts were also delicious. The mango-passion fruit bavarois was especially fantastic.

They still need to learn hospitality. We moved tables, but clearing the table proved difficult even though it wasn't busy at all. They were constantly arguing with us, but that's really not something you should do with CUSTOMERS. The steak was lukewarm, and there were only two bottles of the Chardonnay we ordered left. A great restaurant, like virtually every Loetje restaurant. A pleasant atmosphere should come from the people you're sitting with, not from the restaurant itself. It's too big and too crowded for that. The sheer number of people probably also contributed to the somewhat chaotic atmosphere with the staff.

Had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed a superb steak. The atmosphere is a bit lacking due to the somewhat large layout. But the view and the excellent food more than make up for it.

Last night, my girlfriend and I had coffee and a delicious dessert at Loetje! I ordered the toffee cake I'd had before, but this time it was really dry (it's usually a bit moist). We mentioned this to one of the waitresses (Fleur). Well, she was fantastic! Very kind and polite, and she knew exactly how to interact with customers! She's a big win for Loetje! She exchanged it right away, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Loetje has a great atmosphere, is cozy, and the staff is lovely! We definitely didn't have to wait long! We'll definitely be back!

Nice building, but basically the same as the other locations. Nothing special, not necessarily worth a detour if you're looking for a good steak. The green beans were saltier than the sea. When we paid, they said they would pass it on to the chef. In our opinion, the price-quality ratio isn't worth it. If you're in the area, you can easily stop by, but don't expect anything special.

What a fantastic first experience at Loetje in Nijmegen! I had the tuna steak, and it was of unparalleled quality—truly the best I've ever had. The team was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. While the prices are a bit higher, the dish is more than worth it. In short, a perfect evening, and I'll definitely be back!

I'll never have steak with chicken livers and onion again. It was overloaded with onions, and I could only find three livers in it. I don't think it's worth the hefty price.

I received the steak well-done, not medium. I pointed this out, but the waitress didn't do anything about it. "Oh, sorry," that's all she said when I returned half a plate, because well-done meat isn't tender anymore.

Ordered two steaks (ossenhaas), fries and a salad. One steak was medium done and the other medium rare. The waiter did not ask how it should be baked, I wished he did. The fries were not crunchy, but a bit dry and wrinkled like they were already baked for awhile. The salad that had a bit of too much dressing, but it was the best of the three dishes. We asked for lactose free dishes as one person needed this, we didn't realized that this meant that they were going to leave out ingredients without replacing it for some alternatives, such as the gravy for the steak. I read a review of a Loetje restaurant from my hometown city where someone experienced the same 4 years ago at a Loetje restaurant, even though there are plenty of solutions for this. If they warned us about leaving out ingredients, we would have known and chose something different or just leave for a restaurant that offers alternatives with lactose free ingredients. We were just surprise with a plate of plain stake without anything with it and a waitress complaining that we should know that they will leave out ingredients. Didn't felt like discussing this while I just wanted to eat. The ambiance is good and serving is fast, but the quality of the food isn't something I would highly recommend for that price.

Great company, delicious food. Friendly staff. Cozy restaurant. One minor drawback: serving salad is a bit tricky. It's swimming in gravy. It was very coarse, so it wasn't easy to just stick it in a fork and eat. The steak was tender and flavorful. Unfortunately, the gravy was very salty. It left me feeling quite thirsty. That's a shame. They say you have to go to Loetje for the best steak, but I unfortunately disagree. It's also quite expensive. But hey, at least you've eaten at Loetje. All in all, worth repeating.

You don't come here for frills or gastronomic frills. You come for the tenderloin. And if you do it right - and you do it right - you order that steak in garlic gravy. Loetje simply serves good steak (unfortunately it was just a little too medium for me) with two slices of white bread and a pool of gravy on your plate. The atmosphere in Loetje is relaxed, but not special. The service is good. Functionally friendly. It is not a luxury restaurant. It is a place where you eat with pleasure.

Reservations were not possible for outside, I think why not? It was not a busy day, not a weekend, but we went anyway, we could choose from many tables outside, but you sit very unsociably on the street, no atmosphere, quite expensive, you also have to pay for everything separately.

Just a restaurant where you can eat well, the service is good and the atmosphere is exactly as it should be. The food is just good, no extremes, no fuss, just delicious! Nice piece of meat with a plate of fries and mayonnaise, no measured out containers of mayonnaise but a nice generous amount. Real Dutch, no kilo of lettuce that we all leave behind, I have seen few tables where something was left behind. Friendly service and fast service, we had barely ordered our drinks in advance when they were already in front of us. Recommended if you just want to eat well without a whole puppet show that is thrown away afterwards

Loetje Nijmegen is highly recommended! We have been there several times and will definitely come back. The steak is always cooked perfectly and the gravy is really great – full of flavour and just right. All variations are delicious, whether you go for the spicy Bali, the classic Original or the garlic variation. It is always cosy and the seating is nice. Good atmosphere, friendly staff and consistently high quality. In short: a top address for a wonderful evening out!

Very tasty food. Excellent service. Furthermore very noisy due to many stone walls and many people. So little or no soundproofing. We paid €36 per person. Which is a bit more than average in my opinion.

Loetje is always good. Delicious and (almost) always very good and friendly service. The atmosphere was also great in the Nijmegen location, a bit busier than usual and therefore a bit noisy. We usually go to Gorssel and think that location is absolutely great. Nijmegen is different but it is no less than each other and. the food is very consistent and the quality in all Loetjes so far is great. See you soon in one of the locations (probably Gorssel 😊).

Never in my life left a restaurant hungry. First had to wait 75 minutes for the steak and then 20 minutes for the fries that never even came. Crap

Sinds Loetje is overgenomen door een investeringsmaatschappij, kun je er bijna op wachten: het moment dat de ziel uit het bedrijf verdwijnt. Als trouwe Loetje-fan en bijna wekelijkse bezoeker begin ik dat helaas te merken — bij meerdere vestigingen, maar vandaag in het bijzonder in Nijmegen. Wat gebeurde er? ROT vlees. Echt bedorven. Verstopt in de Balisaus. Serieus? Bedorven vlees, bij Loetje? De biefstuk bleef dus vrijwel onaangeroerd op het bord liggen. Na melding bij de bediening kregen we de vraag of we een nieuwe biefstuk wilden. Dat is natuurlijk wel het minste, en dat werd ook netjes geregeld. Maar… stel dat dit jouw eigen restaurant was — dan doe je toch álles om zo’n fout recht te zetten? Uitleg van een manager, oprechte excuses, een tegoedbon misschien? Helemaal niets van dat alles. Geen enkel personeelslid leek ermee bezig. Wat een sof. Echt teleurstellend.

Op zaterdag 11 mei 2025 bracht ik voor het eerst een bezoek aan Loetje, enthousiast gemaakt door de vele lovende reacties op social media over de biefstuk. Helaas moet ik tot mijn spijt mededelen dat dit voor mij waarschijnlijk ook de laatste keer zal zijn. Bij binnenkomst heb ik direct aangegeven dat wij een reservering hadden gemaakt via de Albert Heijn-actie. Wij werden vriendelijk ontvangen en mochten zelf een tafeltje uitkiezen. Al snel kwam de bediening onze drankbestelling opnemen. Ongeveer een kwartier later werd ons gevraagd of wij al een keuze hadden kunnen maken van de menukaart. Ik gaf aan dat wij nog geen menukaart hadden ontvangen. De serveerster reageerde met de opmerking dat de menukaart op tafel lag, waarna zij zich omdraaide en wegliep. Toen wij de menukaart bekeken, viel het ons op dat het een vrij uitgebreide kaart betrof. Ik besloot daarom de serveerster nogmaals te benaderen. Zij gaf toen aan dat er een aparte kaart is voor de Albert Heijn-actie en dat ik dit eerder kenbaar had moeten maken. Dit vond ik verwarrend, aangezien ik dit zowel bij de reservering als bij binnenkomst al had aangegeven. Nadat we uiteindelijk de juiste menukaart kregen, hebben we onze bestelling doorgegeven. Bij het serveren zagen de biefstukken er erg donker uit. Bij het aansnijden bleek dat ze volledig doorbakken waren. Toen ik dit meldde bij de serveerster, kreeg ik als reactie: “En wat had je doorgegeven bij je keuze?” Ik antwoordde dat ons niets was gevraagd over de gewenste garing van de biefstuk. In andere restaurants is het gebruikelijk dat vlees standaard medium wordt geserveerd wanneer hierover niets wordt vermeld. De serveerster gaf aan dat de biefstuk standaard medium rare wordt bereid, en verwees daarbij naar de reguliere menukaart — niet naar de Albert Heijn-menukaart die wij hadden gebruikt. Wij zijn op geen enkel moment geïnformeerd over de standaard garing, noch is dit ons gevraagd. Daarnaast viel de smaak van de biefstuk mij helaas ook tegen. Bij het afrekenen gaf ik aan dat ik beschikte over twee Albert Heijn-vouchers. Deze werden echter niet op de kassabon vermeld. Toen ik dit aankaartte, kreeg ik opnieuw te horen dat ik dit eerder had moeten aangeven — iets wat ik dus al meerdere malen had gedaan: bij de reservering, bij binnenkomst, aan tafel én bij het afrekenen. Het gehele bezoek gaf mij het gevoel dat ik niet serieus werd genomen en dat ik alles herhaaldelijk moest toelichten. Ik begrijp dan ook niet waarom mij telkens werd verweten dat ik niet duidelijk genoeg zou zijn geweest, terwijl ik vanaf het begin volledig transparant ben geweest over het gebruik van de Albert Heijn-actie. Ik hoop dat u deze feedback ter harte neemt en dat hier intern iets mee wordt gedaan om herhaling bij andere gasten te voorkomen.

I got a burnt calf's liver and my friends a burnt and tough steak. After I indicated that I thought my food was too burnt and could no longer eat it, they took my plate away. Then at checkout I was told that she had taken the veal liver off the bill to compensate, since I only took 1 bite of it. This is something that is of course part of the service and I thought it was very nice of them. Once home, when I looked closely at the receipt, I saw that they had taken my drink off the bill and not the calf's liver. I didn't expect this and I felt cheated. Very disappointing, this is not service.

We had the Loetje classic twice with potato fries and cheese sticks. The waitress asked if everything should be at the same time or separately... we said right and unfortunately that did not happen, the steak arrived cold and was not warm... the gravy was salty. The fries were very tasty. I would rather go to another loetje than this one, also parking is not really well indicated with a separate map.. You have to wait a long time for the food to come...

Friendly, smooth service. The fries were deliciously well done, the steak was cooked medium, which is our preference, but we were not asked how we wanted it cooked. What a terrible experience at Loetje Nijmegen. We had made a reservation for 4 people, but upon arrival there was no table available for us. As if that wasn't bad enough, we had to deal with an extremely unfriendly and downright antisocial male manager. He did nothing to help us, seemed completely disinterested, and his attitude was downright rude. No excuses, no solutions – just an arrogant attitude. The staff seemed completely indifferent, as if this is normal. This was our first and certainly our last time at Loetje. An absolute disgrace!

Nice restaurant to go to with small children and still a tasty piece of meat for adults. They have a coloring page for the children if you ask for it. It was very original that you get white bread to soak in the gravy. The gravy is available in different flavors. Why I'm giving 4 stars for the food is because the steak and gravy were quite salty. Was er druk en te weinig personeel, waardoor je lang moest wachten. De carpaccio was bevroren en heel waterig. Biefstuk was oké, maar lauw. Bakje champignons besteld, deze waren koud, droog en zwart, nieuw bakje gevraagd, deze waren nog zwarter en daar betaal je dan €4,95 voor. Tot overmaat van ramp er ziek van geworden. Echt slechte kwaliteit, we gaan er niet meer naar toe.

Nice restaurant from a dutch chain located near the marina. Make a reservation if you want a table with a view of the water; the other side overlooks a park and the railway, and many tables do not have any view, of course. The service was quite good, and the menu is bilingual, including allergen lists. If you check the menu, they offer various options of beef tenderloin (Biefstuk), which can come in different sizes and with different sauces. The dish was pretty good. Portions are reasonable, and side dishes are meant to be shared. All in all, good price-quality ratio.

Although we visited on a nice sunny day to soak up the last of the autumn sun… the staff weren’t too helpful. We were 2 adults with 3 kids and kept to ourselves and outside as much as possible. But why is it we weren’t offered pencils and colouring in stuff straight away? Not offered a high chair either. The food was okay, they had a vegan options but would have loved to see something inventive for the price… the location is nice and near the centre but wouldn’t return.

Today again at Loetje Nijmegen. We like to come here for the steak and in the very beginning for us (about 2 years ago) the Burata dish was a different dish than what we get now. What we see is that over time the dish becomes increasingly sparse. When asked if everything was to our liking, we raised this with the waiter and to our surprise he agreed. She shared our experience that the dish was getting smaller and smaller. Previously 2 nice slices of foccacia bread, pesto, sliced ​​tomato, large ball of burata, basil. Over time it became 1 pack of foccacia, the tomato slices were replaced by a number of halved cherry tomatoes, less pesto, smaller ball of burata. Now today the portions are even smaller and the bread looked like leftovers of something. We understand that products become more expensive over time, but charge a higher price rather than make the dish worse. Then the main course. The fact is that we could weigh the jury, but this was certainly not 195 grams. So I joked "be careful it doesn't blow away." All in all, it actually knew less and less. And then 132 euros is the best price for the 2 of us.
