Amazingly tasty steak. Too bad about the gravy spilling over the plate. I would have preferred it in a pitcher. But that's for next time.

We love the divas that work here, because they really did their best despite the heavy crowds. The food came nice and fast too, and the drinks as well ;) My girlfriend and I were happy with it <3

A very grumpy blonde lady served us. She couldn't tell us which lemonades were on the drinks menu when we asked, and when we wanted to make changes, she walked away quickly. She also takes orders without looking at you, turns around, and walks away while you are still talking. We initially wanted to have lunch, but after these two drinks, we decided to keep looking.

Had a delicious meal for my son's birthday

A while ago, we went here for dinner with four people. When ordering, we asked if gluten-free options could be accommodated. After consulting with the kitchen, we were told that gluten-free bread was available and that the steak was prepared gluten-free. We ordered enthusiastically and started eating as soon as everything arrived. Gluten-free bread was indeed available and neatly packaged separately. Until a few hours later, during a concert, I started feeling increasingly unwell. I vomited several times and lay down for a few hours before we dared to make the journey home. It has been a long time since I have been this sick. In short, I can only advise people with celiac disease, gluten allergy, or those who eat gluten-free for any other reason to stay far away from here.

Ate at Loetje on August 9th, best steak in town? Answer: no. I asked for medium, but it was definitely medium rare; the waitstaff already said we serve medium rare by default, but well, that's not what I wanted. And then the gravy; I chose garlic. There was plenty of gravy, but unfortunately, the garlic was nowhere to be tasted. Service was okay. Would I eat there again for that price? We were a group of six, and all six said no.

Tasty food, but it was a bit on the expensive side.

The service was fine. The food, on the other hand, was really not good. I don't understand why people like this or recommend it. The steak was completely crispy on the top and bottom. The gravy was just salt and greasy. It was not worth the money at all. We had stomach aches all day from the greasy food.

The service and the restaurant were really fine. We really didn't think the food, the chicken satay, fries, and accompanying salad were very good. The satay was certainly not homemade marinated and far too salty, the fries weren't great either, and the salad was very minimal. Very unfortunate, but for us, this is the first and last time.

Eating at Loetje is always a good idea.

A few weeks ago, we dined at Loetje Nijmegen. Unfortunately, this experience did not live up to the quality we have come to expect from Loetje. A number of dishes that should have been served hot were already significantly cooled upon arrival. It appeared as if the plates had been sitting for some time before being served. When we pointed this out, the response we received was: "I wouldn't dare say why that is, maybe it's due to the wind outside." We found this a remarkable explanation, especially since the dishes had just been placed on the table. Additionally, we were served bread with the steak. Normally, this is always fresh and soft, unless you order something else. To our surprise, we discovered that there was mold on the bread. We reported this immediately as well. The only response we received was an apology stating that this is unacceptable, followed by an offer of a cup of coffee as compensation. We then asked if a suitable discount or other form of compensation might be possible, given the combination of the cooled dishes and the moldy bread. Unfortunately, we were told that this was not possible. We are sorry that our complaints were handled in this way. Mistakes can always happen, but the way they are resolved ultimately makes the difference. This is not the service and quality we have come to expect from Loetje, and therefore this experience was very disappointing for us.

Besides the fact that my steak was unfortunately overcooked, I found a fly that had also been cooked along with the steak. I reported this, but nothing was discussed with me about how to resolve it. They brought a small steak, even though my appetite was ruined and my girlfriend had already finished eating. Later, the drinks were compensated, but I would have preferred to simply be compensated for the steak with the fly on it. Unfortunately, they were focused on revenue rather than satisfying the customer. It's a shame. In any case, I won't be eating there again.

Nice place to sit outside, just outside the heavy hustle and bustle of the city center. Friendly staff and good food.

The acoustics were terrible, large groups producing a lot of noise, we could barely understand each other at the table.

Despite the crowds of the summer festivals, very friendly staff, delicious food, and a cozy atmosphere!

We ate with 7 people; 4 had an XXL steak. The gravy was really cold; the server commented, "Oh, how strange, because the plate is warm. Maybe there really is too much wind." And the toasted bread we were served with it had mold on it; naturally, we didn't eat it. If only they had offered fresh bread and not stale bread that had been toasted to cover it up. We called the waitress, who took it to the kitchen, and we were allowed to choose a free drink. It was scandalous how this was handled, and that was definitely the last time at Loetje.

Not what we are used to from Loetje. The tuna steak was sold out, the gravy was cold, and the bread was stale and moldy, after which we were fobbed off with a coffee on the house.

Had a nice experience. The menu offers classics and a few more special options. My tuna steak could also be ordered with one of the other signature sauces upon request, for which I am grateful. The fries were crispy, and the tuna steak was fine too! The sauce was tasty, but I found the quantity just a little too greasy and heavy. We also missed some vegetables. Because all side dishes can be ordered separately, it does get a bit more expensive. The desserts were also very well presented and tasty, but not exceptionally special or adventurous. So, the conclusion: a crowd-pleaser restaurant with crowd favorites! The restaurant is large and beautifully decorated, and there is plenty of space on the terrace as well: ideal for larger groups or families (we were able to park our stroller easily). Very friendly and efficient service!

There is nothing wrong with the food; a fine steak and tasty fries. The price-quality ratio is also good. However, this place has no air conditioning, which is a real downside these days. The service also leaves much to be desired, which is why we didn't order dessert. No more Loetje for us for the time being.

I was disappointed. I ordered 2 cappuccinos and 2 pastries. The apple pie was way too cold, and they forgot my apple pie, sorry, even though the place was practically empty. It was sloppy, and we each got a scoop of ice cream with the pastries, even though I hadn't ordered this at all, but we still had to pay for it. Total cost: 25 euros!!!!!!!

It was okay. The price-quality ratio isn't great. The steak was very salty; it tasted fine otherwise, but nothing special. For nearly thirty euros, you'd be better off eating a steak somewhere else. The fries were also just barely fine. The dessert, on the other hand, was very tasty, and a generous portion for a reasonable price. It was very busy when I was there, but the toilets were completely clean! A plus point. I wouldn't be quick to return to Loetje.

I have been to several Loetje locations, but this one was the worst. Service was frequently nowhere to be found, and the food, after a long wait, was good but no longer piping hot.

16.50 at Loetje Nijmegen …. According to Loetje’s slogan, there is always a spot, but unfortunately …. We walked into an almost empty place, but nope, everything is “full”. At the very least, check if there is a table available for 30/45 minutes…. We were a party of 4, and I say…. Then you probably got it too good to take ..... and the slogan is completely inaccurate. NEVER again to Loetje in Nijmegen

Waaaay too expensive for what you get. The steak was lukewarm on the inside.

The food was fine in itself, but I don't really understand why people are raving about it. The steak tartare was still frozen in the middle and also a bit tasteless. The main course wasn't prepared very well either. The staff is friendly, but I get the impression that they aren't all equally enthusiastic. The ambiance is good, though; it's nicely decorated!

We have now dined at Loetje Nijmegen three times, but unfortunately, the bill went wrong again this time. To our surprise, it turned out that nearly €50 too much had been charged. That is not only sloppy, but it really takes the fun out of the evening. For example, an extra charge was added for a Dame Blanche, because according to the employee, it was not included in the package. When we pointed out on the menu that it *was* included, she indicated that we were the first to notice. Frankly, we found that quite worrying, especially since this package has been running for over half a year. You do wonder how many guests have overpaid in the meantime. The staff did eventually refund the amount, but we had to recalculate everything ourselves to do so. Because the bill was so unclear, recalculating it took us well over half an hour with the help of two employees. Furthermore, no form of compensation or extra service was offered, which made the experience even more disappointing. We understand that mistakes can happen, but having problems with the bill three times in a row inspires little confidence.

I had a wonderful experience here! The overall vibe was super pleasant. Everything was great. I'm really happy with my visit. Dipping the bread in the sauce it's something definitely worth trying. Nice spot to check out. I'll be back for sure!

Great atmosphere with exceptionally attentive staff

Loyete Restaurant is a very pleasant place, perfect for both a quick lunch and a quiet dinner with family or friends. The restaurant's cozy decor and pleasant atmosphere make you feel comfortable from the very first moment. The service is polite and helpful – waiters are happy to advise you on menu choices. The food is fresh and well-seasoned. The portions are generous, and the dishes are beautifully presented. The menu offers a wide variety of dishes, ensuring everyone will find something to their liking. The main courses and desserts are particularly noteworthy, as they are truly delicious. I recommend the steaks with garlic sauce, perfectly fried, and the ones with liver and bacon, but be warned – the portions are huge. The prices are commensurate with the quality of the food and service. Loyete Restaurant is a place you'll want to return to and recommend to others looking for good food in a pleasant atmosphere.

Jeez, where do I begin. Maybe at the fist no we got when we asked to be seated outside in the shade? No. Maybe at the no we got when we asked if we could have our after dinner cocktail in the shade 5m away on the concrete barrier .. in the shade? No. I'll start at the no I got when my reservation wasn't valid for the terrace...sun nor shade... Due to a lack of staff the manager told us we could only sit in the blistering sun to have our meal. The shady tables were out, but no guests were allowed to sit there. Funny thing though, there was a big metal show in town, to which the manager would also go the day after. Quelle surprise...everyone is middle aged and clad fully in black...no body wanted the sunny spots. But the manager kept on with his parade of no's . A 70+ year old lady asked if she and her company could sit in the shade, and you've guessed...no! "We have 31 restaurants". Sadly, I've been a frequent guest at the original Loetje. Loetje experience has been lost a while ago both in service and products. My gravy was burnt and my friend's salad was mostly sprouts. We got to have our (well mixed) espresso martinis in the shade with explicit approval of the bartender in the shady part of the terrace. However, despite the lack of staff for the shady part of the terrace, the manager did manage to make time to send a waitress over to tell us we couldn't sit there. We spent 10 minutes telling her we had been okayed by the bar tender. Those 10 minutes could've been better spent in my (not so very) humble opinion. Say....serve people, clean a table. Train the train in basic hospitality skills. This review had to be edited to have it published. This was a few years ago during the Rammstein concerts after covid. Needless to say, we have not been back here.

The steak was disappointing. Four stars due to the excellent service and the delicious starter and dessert. We went to Loetje specifically for the steak. Unfortunately, it lacked flavor, though thankfully there was salt and pepper on the table. The famous gravy was barely present. The chicken liver, however, was; it was overpowering and not tasty. We also mentioned this to the staff. The apple pie for dessert was fantastic! All in all, I expected more from the main course.

Yesterday I went to Loetje for the first time, my God, it tastes so good! Maybe a small detail, but those fries... mmmmm!!

Steak was great with gravy but one thing I really don't understand, why serving white toast for gravy? I like steak, vege and drinks I had but only I really don't understand is white toast! Why can't they serve proper bread instead of toast?

We both drank a non-alcoholic Texel specialty beer, Skuumkoppe. Very tasty. We had the tuna steak. It was floating in a puddle of braising juices. Absolutely not tasty at all. I asked for bread with my dish. That wasn't a good idea. A few slices of spongy white bread. My partner asked for fries. They were tasty, but they were served on "a bed of mayonnaise." Not good. The final dinner at Loetje was a complete disappointment. A sad ending to an otherwise fantastic weekend in Nijmegen.

Delicious food. Simplicity is what makes it beautiful.

This time, it went wrong. We ordered two Balinese steaks with garlic. We got steak with regular gravy. They were going to make it Balinese, but it tasted awful. So, we got a new steak. Everyone else had already finished their food by the time we got ours. It was a shame...but the resolution was actually the worst part. They stirred a little sambal into the gravy. After that, no one apologized, and you had to ask for the manager yourself and then indicate that a cup of coffee would be appropriate. I consider this very poor service, and I'm not used to it from Loetje. Because of our work, we travel almost everywhere in the Netherlands, including to many Loetje restaurants.

Later, later, later, the gravy tasted like water. We'd eaten at Loetje, and normally we're very satisfied, but tonight wasn't. The starters were decent, but my smoked salmon was tough. The steak was still quite raw compared to other times, and the gravy was very watery and lacking in flavor. The service and drinks were good, though!

A restaurant with a clear formula. It's on the pricey side. And I assume the local hospital cardiology department is a major shareholder. Your cholesterol goes through the roof after a meal soaking up gravy at Loesje. Here too, you naturally notice the staffing problem in the hospitality industry. The waitstaff constantly look lost, as if they're new to the restaurant. And in some cases, that's probably true. The carpet on the ceiling is a very clever acoustic measure. Not really something we'd repeat, but that's largely a matter of taste. But in our family, we always say: "If you want to puke before dessert, go out to Loetje."

It seems impossible to have a three course gluten free meal here. We called four times and could not get past the automated system to speak to someone at the restaurant to confirm. The allergen menu that was sent by the automated system to us by phone was only available in Dutch. I have fond memories of being accommodated no problem at Loetje in Amsterdam in 2019, but things unfortunately seem to have changed.

The atmosphere is cozy, the service was friendly and fast, but a blonde waitress kept bumping into my chair when she passed by, and she had a grumpy expression on her face, so I only gave it a 3-star rating. The steak itself was tasty, but the shou was disgusting and too black, which almost all of us experienced heartburn. The schnitzel and dessert were good. So, I don't think it's worth the price; it's too expensive.

Great steak, and especially the gravy!

We had dinner with 8 people on Christmas Day. The staff were friendly and the food was excellent, especially the steak! Unfortunately, we couldn't order dessert because the time shift was almost over! While two other tables of at least 10 people still had it! They wouldn't have had to wait 45 minutes for our starters, then another 45 minutes for the main course. Such a shame, especially on Christmas Day.

Enjoy a delicious lunch with the AH lunch voucher. A complete meal.

Pros: The 0.0 steak is exceptionally good, and the food is fresh and high-quality. Cons: Otherwise, it's all very ordinary: the grilled vegetables are a small bowl of cauliflower and carrots, the fried mushrooms are only fried with a little salt, and the bread is just a stack of slices of white bread. My husband (a meat eater) preferred my 0.0 steak to his tenderloin steak.

Cozy, atmospheric, and delicious food. Only the chairs are a bit rickety for heavier people.

It's a shame the AH discount shop sold lunch, and you assumed it was valid for a year, and when you wanted to make a reservation, you saw it was only valid for four months. So, no lunch.

Five shining stars for Loetje Nijmegen! At Loetje Nijmegen, we were served by Fleur—a name that pretty much says it all: a true gem. She has such a cheerful, open demeanor that your mood automatically improves. A brief eye contact and voila, there she was, super friendly, back at the table with a smile as if she were polishing it in the dishwasher. Fleur was always up for a joke, incredibly attentive, and extremely helpful. She recommended the speculoos cheesecake for dessert, and honestly, it was so delicious that we almost forgot we were actually eating in Nijmegen, not in the finals of Heel Holland Bakt (The Dutch Bake Off). The only downside: they were out of steak tartare. In short: a fantastic evening, fantastic service, and above all: Fleur deserves a promotion and unlimited cheesecake.

We had a lovely meal; the steak was delicious. I didn't find the sauce everyone raves about particularly special, but it was tasty. I would definitely order it again. The fries were also very tasty, and the side dish portions were generous.

Wow, after a hard day at the office, I wouldn't have wanted to be anywhere else. I'd been invited by friends. The day was rough, and my colleagues knew exactly how to wear me down. Despite my fatigue and doubts, I finally stepped into this Loetje restaurant a few hours later. It was fantastic. The service, the food, and just the delightful atmosphere. Definitely worth coming back for more, thanks!

We had a fantastic dinner at this amazing restaurant in Amsterdam. The service was top-notch notch and the filet mignon and the Wiener Schnitzel was outstanding. I would definitely go back to this fantastic restaurant.

The tartare with sauce and arugula was excellent. The beer was excellent, and the espresso was unbeatable (just like everywhere else in the Netherlands).

300g steak, 40 bucks, cold inside... 1 task.

Cozy atmosphere and good food. Friendly staff with a good atmosphere. Just be careful near the parking lot, there are junkies around here smashing windows hoping to find a few euros. There was glass everywhere, and that evening, a van window was also broken. It's a good thing I wasn't there when it happened. Otherwise, I had a nice and pleasant evening.

Delicious food! Good and friendly service. The steak was just as it should be, and the appetizers were also very tasty and well-seasoned. The desserts were also delicious. The mango-passion fruit bavarois was especially fantastic.

They still need to learn hospitality. We moved tables, but clearing the table proved difficult even though it wasn't busy at all. They were constantly arguing with us, but that's really not something you should do with CUSTOMERS. The steak was lukewarm, and there were only two bottles of the Chardonnay we ordered left. Poor inventory management. The seating was fine, but the aftertaste is a shame. I'm nostalgic for the early days of Loetje (Jaap), just enjoying Amsterdam and without an investment company...

Had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed a superb steak. The atmosphere is a bit lacking due to the somewhat large layout. But the view and the excellent food more than make up for it.

A great restaurant, like virtually every Loetje restaurant. A pleasant atmosphere should come from the people you're sitting with, not from the restaurant itself. It's too big and too crowded for that. The sheer number of people probably also contributed to the somewhat chaotic atmosphere with the staff.

Loetje is Loetje, always good. It's a shame they ran out of shrimp croquettes, but the friendly service made up for it.

Went to Loetje Nijmegen for pastries for the first time. The service was fantastic! Fleur, in particular, was very friendly and sociable, truly wonderful. We'll definitely be back!

Last night, my girlfriend and I had coffee and a delicious dessert at Loetje! I ordered the toffee cake I'd had before, but this time it was really dry (it's usually a bit moist). We mentioned this to one of the waitresses (Fleur). Well, she was fantastic! Very kind and polite, and she knew exactly how to interact with customers! She's a big win for Loetje! She exchanged it right away, and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Loetje has a great atmosphere, is cozy, and the staff is lovely! We definitely didn't have to wait long! We'll definitely be back!

Steak Loetje! No explanation needed. For all foregeners: Steak Loetje can't be explained. The best you will ever taste. With bread. And just: enjoy.

Nice building, but basically the same as the other locations. Nothing special, not necessarily worth a detour if you're looking for a good steak. The green beans were saltier than the sea. When we paid, they said they would pass it on to the chef. In our opinion, the price-quality ratio isn't worth it. If you're in the area, you can easily stop by, but don't expect anything special.

What a fantastic first experience at Loetje in Nijmegen! I had the tuna steak, and it was of unparalleled quality—truly the best I've ever had. The team was friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. While the prices are a bit higher, the dish is more than worth it. In short, a perfect evening, and I'll definitely be back!

Delicious steaks, highly recommended! So tender and perfectly prepared. After eating there once, I can already say that this is truly one of my favorite restaurants. The service is very friendly, and it's definitely worth ending a day of shopping in Nijmegen with a meal at Loetje!

The steak was delicious, the rest was okay. Unfortunately, some ingredients were out of stock, meaning certain dishes couldn't be ordered.

I'll never have steak with chicken livers and onion again. It was overloaded with onions, and I could only find three livers in it. I don't think it's worth the hefty price.
