Tasty food. A good glass to go with it. A lovely spot on the terrace. And then an ashtray is placed at the table next to you. Even before I’m finished with my food, someone at the table next to us nonchalantly lights a cigarette. You get the smoke for free with your dish. What I really don't understand: how can a hospitality establishment that pays so much attention to food, drinks, and presentation, and charges appropriate prices for it, still take smoking on the terrace for granted? The staff brings the ashtray unasked, mind you. (It may be customer-friendly, but friendly to whom?) Why are there still so few terraces in 2026 where the rule simply applies: here you eat and drink smoke-free? (A chance for five stars 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 The food at Steven's was tasty. The combination with cigarette smoke was disastrous, so 1 🌟

The day before yesterday, after a walk in the city, we stopped here for a cup of coffee. We sat on the terrace, which is situated in a beautiful location. The staff was friendly and the service was polite. However, I found the prices to be on the high side. We paid €13.50 for two cups of coffee and a piece of cake. That might not be exceptional these days, but for the elderly or people with a low income, it could be a reason not to choose this place. All in all, a nice location with friendly service, but as far as I am concerned, the prices could be a bit more accessible.

We had a super delicious meal, and the staff were super friendly. A major downside was having to pay €6.00 ​​for a bottle of tap water, even though you are drinking a lot of wine and other drinks. Charging €2.00 or so for that would be fine, but this was really unreasonable.

Super nice location, beautiful neighborhood! If you can sit outside in the morning when the temperature is pleasant, definitely do it; lovely in the sunshine. Lots to see because of all the people walking by. I had the "Tasting" breakfast, and it was delicious (and a generous portion!)! They finished the latte macchiatos at the table (espresso shot in the milk), which I really liked. I think Steven really sets himself apart from other establishments by giving a slightly different twist to the service, the menu, and their overall experience. Highly recommended!

A 1 hour 45 minute wait, just to get two dishes...

First of all, I want to clarify that we are tourists. We don't speak Dutch, and I think the rating is mainly due to the fact that we were treated like "tourists." We arrived a little before 6 pm, very happy with our walk around town. The waitress was immediately very welcoming. We placed our order at 6 pm: nachos as an appetizer, then our drinks, and in the same order, we mentioned our main courses so there wouldn't be a wait after our drinks. We waited 40 minutes for the nachos. Then another hour for the main courses. We were there for two hours in total! All the tables around us, even those that arrived after us, were served before us! To make matters worse, tomato bites were offered to all the tables except ours. However, during the long wait, we were offered refills three times... We really felt a difference in treatment, which is very unpleasant as tourists. Despite everything, the waitress was very kind and gave us a 10% discount on the bill. The food was good, but unfortunately, after a 1 hour and 40 minute wait, we weren't able to fully appreciate it.

We had a mediocre evening. First, we had to wait before we were actually allowed to simply choose where to sit, even though there were at most 3 tables inside in terms of crowding. No drinks were taken; only water was placed on the table. This was still water, which we suspect came from the tap. The bavette, the best cut of meat on the menu, was sold out (on a Saturday night 🙈), but they just forgot to mention that. Ordered a snack platter, with a sausage that was too dry and toasted bread without dip. Main course: meager, barely any vegetables, side dishes (to be paid for), small portion of fries, and a sour salad. Corn-fed chicken was a kind of dry chicken fillet with a bone pushed into it. The bill wasn't cheap either, and we had to pay for that table water, which certainly seemed to come straight from the tap, at least the second refill. In short, we won't be coming back here; it's such a shame, because it had a nice interior with beautiful fake flowers and a nice location.

The food was pretty okay, a generous piece of apple pie. As far as we're concerned, a score of 7,346(5). The ultimate highlight is the mirror in the toilet. Look up and you will experience something you have never experienced before. And then where the paper is... wow, an unforgettable experience! The ginger tea was also so delicious, full of ginger! The figures in the cappuccino were very nice, unfortunately one of us was excluded and didn't get a figure in his coffee 🥺🥺 otherwise good flavors.

Had a good meal. The tenderloin wasn't bad, but lacked some flavor. The piece of Pomme Anna was very tasty.

A good restaurant, only the price and quality are not in proportion. For this restaurant, you serve port in port glasses and not in wine glasses, and make sure the cutlery is spotless, but the service was top-notch.

The waitress is very friendly and customer-oriented. She takes the time to explain everything. The food is very tasty. Not too little, but not too much either. The restaurant is beautifully decorated and very atmospheric. All in all, a nice place to eat and have drinks.

We have been to this lovely place for lunch and dinner several times. Always consistent quality, a regularly changing menu, and super friendly and enthusiastic staff! Tonight was also perfectly taken care of by Anastasia: great tips on the wines, nothing was too much trouble! Highly recommended for a delicious and enjoyable evening of lunch or dinner!

We were sitting on the terrace and it was absolutely not busy. When taking our order, we mentioned which coffees were served three times. We also asked what the "changing pastry" was. The coffee arrived and was still wrong. The wait staff offered no solution, and there was barely a reaction to our own suggestion. We ordered pastry, and it arrived just before we finished our coffee. Poor, unprofessional service that clearly lacks proper guidance.

Lovely cafe on a busy street which is part of the walking sightseeing route of Nijmegen. We sheltered here one rainy afternoon when it wasnt too busy, and the staff graciously let us be. Next day we ate an early lunch here, and found the food to be excellent: my partner had a burger and i asked for a club sandwich with falafel, a variation not in the menu - but they made it happen!

The staff isn't hospitality staff. They're friendly, but not attentive. They don't check if drinks are needed, and when they finally do, it takes an excruciatingly long time to return. I've been there twice now, but this was the last time.

Nice place to grab a drink and a bite to eat after shopping. Quite spacious, too. We had a high table near the bar; I think for the ambiance, it would be better to sit closer to the center. It was full, though. Definitely a place to return to.

The service and atmosphere were good. We ordered the entrecôte with herb butter, hollandaise sauce, fries, and salad twice. Unfortunately, the steaks were almost cold, tough, and cooked rare. We had ordered medium. Furthermore, the hollandaise sauce was curdled and very acidic. The fries with mayonnaise and the small salad were good. To be fair, I should add that they offered us a complimentary apology, which we declined.

Good food. Very friendly and attentive service. My wife couldn't make a good choice and asked for something that wasn't on the menu. She briefly consulted the chef, and she was accommodated. Delicious lattes (hot, good, and generously sized, with a shot of espresso poured at the table). The atmosphere is warm and the acoustics are good. Especially for someone with hypersensitivity, lunch there is manageable.

Steven's is a wonderful restaurant. A chic hotel with delicious coffee, homemade lemonade, and lunches. The staff is extremely knowledgeable. We had a wonderful afternoon thanks to Steven.

This place was truly overpriced, and the service was disappointing. We ordered an appetizer, but the bill ended up being much more than that. Without consulting us, they'd charged an extra portion and the wrong price. Mistakes happen, but we only got a partial refund, "because otherwise there would have been a difference at the checkout." It was a strange story, and not very customer-friendly. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant.

A nice, cozy-looking place, but the food was very disappointing. We ordered a starter platter to share. It was fine, but the cheese was missing. The staff was very busy, so we left it alone. There weren't many pregnancy-safe options, so we opted for the poultry of the moment. It turned out to be duck. We told the staff that it shouldn't be raw. Without asking why, they said they would definitely fix it! But unfortunately, it wasn't, and the duck was completely raw. I sent it back. Meanwhile, I checked on my husband, who was eating, because more than 10 minutes later the duck returned. Completely scorched, black, gray, and bone dry. When we picked up our plates, they still asked if we'd enjoyed them, even though our plates were still full. The dish was removed from the bill, along with two drinks. However, it turned out that the drinks platter with one small bread roll, six cold cuts, and a little olive oil was supposed to cost €15 per person, so a total of €30. They said this was listed on the menu. Unfortunately, I only checked the menu online as I was leaving, but it wasn't listed anywhere. For two drinks, one main course, and a minimal appetizer platter, we spent over €100. We won't be returning and wouldn't recommend it to anyone.

The food, the ambiance, and especially the service are top-notch! Dogs are allowed and welcome. However, the prices are outrageous. A main course consisting of a slice (!) of eggplant, couscous, and some vegetables costs €24. Absolutely delicious, no doubt, but unfortunately very expensive. Otherwise, we have absolutely no reason to complain; it's wonderful here, but unfortunately, we wouldn't come back.

Because we were there during the Four Days Marches, we were given plastic cups (yes, even if you're there at 1:00 PM). Understandable, but incomprehensible that they charge €2 for them. I'd rather be served a drink in a glass than a plastic cup, and then I have to pay for it.😅 Perhaps that's why I only received the receipt after paying, when I specifically asked for it.
