25 euros for a vegetarian stew, nothing else. Just a few bits of vegetables in a soup-like dish.

The prices were too high for what you got. The deluxe fish salad had a standard dressing that was a bit sweet—a bad combination. Previously, both the falafel salad and the fish salad were just a big blob of pre-made lettuce topped with 6 fried falafel balls or a ball of mackerel salad, 5 tasteless shrimp, and 2 small pieces of halibut. The halibut was in a large banana leaf garnished with wasabi mayonnaise. A strange combination with the other ingredients, and I can't understand why it was in an inedible leaf instead of on the salad. The burgers were fine, but not exactly recommended. Furthermore, there were few vegan options.

We ate here with a group of fifteen. They offer a smaller menu for groups, which is understandable and still offers plenty of choice for everyone. The starter, however, is fixed: a platter of gyozas, a few croquettes, some tuna sashimi, and a pulled pork taco. This sounds like everyone can try everything, but in practice, the amount of each dish is actually too limited. The main course came with salad and fries, but even here, the portions were very sparingly served. One bowl of salad for five people is simply not enough, and we had the same feeling with the fries: you constantly feel like you have to "share" instead of enjoying a relaxed meal. The service itself was friendly and correct, but everything took a long time; you really had to be patient between courses. All in all: the atmosphere and service are fine, but the portions and the pace of serving don't match what a group expects from a dinner out. With slightly larger portions and a bit more pace, the experience would be much better.

The atmosphere is good, the service is friendly, but it's difficult to order anything. The grilled cheese sandwich and poke bowl are okay, but the midday meal is subpar. A fried egg is thrown carelessly onto a dry brown bread slice, without butter. No garnish, as I see in one of the photos here. The coffee is weak—how many times do you have to hear that before you do something about it?

The restaurant is located near to the city centre of Nijmegen. It has a free parking garage, beware of the very narrow steel entry. It also has a big terrace outside which is pleasant during dunny times. The atmosphere inside is good, staff is friendly. We ordered a 4 courses menu. Instead of soup as the second course we asked for an alternative. We got some bread instead. The first course , a carpa cio was tasteless. The main course was tastefull but no extra’s which was disappointing. We had some drinks and coffee at the end and had to pay eur 175 (2 persons). Way to expensive!

The food was delicious. Very friendly service. The kitchen was absolutely top-notch. And so was the food. Something for everyone.

Summer 2025: Had a wonderful meal outside. The atmosphere is lovely. The food is delicious. On Sundays, you can tell they're running low because the portions are noticeably smaller than last time. October 2025: The food is disappointing: the vegetarian autumn stew (25 euros) is a good sauce for spaghetti. It's just tomato sauce. The picanha (29 euros) is tough with a lot of fat. I'm becoming less and less of a fan of this restaurant.

It's about 20 minutes outside the city center on foot. Judging by the name, it appears to be a converted military building. Whatever it was before, they've done a great job, inside and out. It's definitely worth the trip. Inside, there's room for a few hundred people, so it's good for groups. The kitchen handles orders with ease, and the young, dynamic service in the dining room is very efficient and friendly and flawless. All of this comes at a price, of course. It's certainly a more upscale location in terms of price. However, we've done relatively few restaurant visits in the Netherlands in recent years, so we can't say whether it hasn't become more expensive everywhere else. Our last away game was in Italy. A simple coffee here in the bar costs a good three times as much. The food... well, we didn't have much choice, but we found it rather mediocre. Perhaps our expectations were too high. The location is definitely worth recommending and you should give it a try.

The greenery on the wall looked like it had been spruced up and made for a less pleasant atmosphere. That's just not acceptable these days... We had the T-bone steak. It made up for a lot and was delicious.

Stopped in for lunch with two friends while in Nijmegen. One of my friends is 85 years old and she remembers when this used to be part of the military. They have done an outstanding job, renovating the space into a restaurant while still keeping much of the original atmosphere. The service and the food were quite excellent. The avocado toast with carrots and eggplants were to die for… Served with a very nice balsamic reduction and goat cheese. My other friend had the fillet American hamburger which was quite excellent as well. Free underground parking was an added touch that I much appreciated.

Beautiful location. But alas. Bland, weak coffee, overpriced tea in tiny glasses only three-quarters full. And a sneer when you ask for a refill, because "that's how the machine is set." Come on, we're talking about water! What a disgrace. Do your best at De Kazerne.

Enjoyed a lovely lunch outside on the terrace at an affordable price. I may have mentioned Kazerne in my reviews before, but it's still a pleasant place to be, even if you dine inside in less favorable weather. The atmosphere is warm and inviting. The food is consistently good and surprisingly delicious.

I celebrated my birthday (65th) with you. They really helped me think about what I wanted beforehand, and everything was possible. You even suggested something yourself. Outside under the stretch tent; perfect. The service was great, as were the snacks. Everyone was full of praise!

Delicious salmon fillet with asparagus, excellent. The terrace atmosphere is nothing like the one inside; it could use a few more extras outside, like the color of the cushions, etc. A lot of flies during and after dinner. Tip: put a fly repellent on each table.

Op maandag is in Nijmegen weinig open maar deze lunchlocatie gevonden. Gezellig zitten en prima lunch genoten. Vriendelijke bediening. Wel redelijk aan de prijs.

Gewoon slecht ( diner) locatie prima maar eten , rauw, lauw, oude sla etc. Wel aangegeven en de slechte producten niet in rekening gebracht ( dat dan weer wel)

A dinner with a group of colleagues on the expansive terrace of In de Kazerne was a great success. Reservations are required, as it's known throughout the area as a relaxed spot where you can meet in a pleasant atmosphere, enjoy a chat, and enjoy delicious food (lunch, dinner, and snacks, including appetizers) and drinks. The staff goes above and beyond to fulfill any requests and create the relaxed atmosphere that the terrace exudes for guests. Parking is available nearby, and the bus stop for line 8 is practically right outside.

Your welcoming terrace is so beautifully designed, with great ambiance and lighting! Eight of us dined at a long table. The service was friendly and professional, and the meal was fantastic! To have such a busy terrace with every table occupied, and then to receive everyone in such a hospitable, cheerful, and relaxed way is truly impressive! Our compliments.

Super cozy under the stretch tent celebrated my 40th birthday. It was a very warm day, so we ate a little less and that is why it stayed and you got 'sweaty' cheeses. Furthermore, we were well helped by a sweet waitress who kept checking if everything was to my liking and okay for me. That was very nice!

Atmosphere is good, but the acoustics are very hollow. Which makes it seem very busy. Very tiring. But the girls are super friendly. And the food was delicious.

Had dinner with you on Mother's Day. We were so disappointed. We're not used to it from you either. We had asparagus soup where the asparagus are mixed. Still had a cracking taste. We did report it, but it was turned down. Then came the grouse stew. There too, the chicken was gone, and there was supposed to be Turkish bread, but it was not included. A few hard baked rolls that were unedible. We were very dissatisfied. It's also a shame that people reacted this way. We are not used to this from you. You do pay for it.

The food was delicious from the 3 course menu, beautiful building and friendly staff. The only point of attention was that glasses and plates were left on the table for a long time, making it very full.

Nice atmosphere, but you don't have to go for good coffee. Coffee does not come from a barista machine but from a machine. And then still charge 4.90 euros for a flat white.

Had a lovely lunch here, the barracks burger was really tasty and the service was very good. Our dog was also allowed in and he even got his own bowl of water. I would highly recommend having lunch here. The only downside is that the "fresh" orange juice was not fresh. Otherwise a great experience.

totally disappointed..i wanted to make a gift for my wife for her birthday (48) years..i called..reservation for 4 people and we agreed on the phone 2 times called to agree..we stayed that we would come eat and drink something, and in the end an apple pie with stars and 48 years, what I received instead of a pie was a jar of ice and a star in it, 2 hamburgers one of which had no taste at all, fried potatoes with no taste, the Heineken beer which I only drink, was another beer in a glass, I think they chose something cheaper..bad taste I left more than half there, pizza..I won't even say it, I think it was frozen, raw, and since it was salami I counted 3 pieces of salami covered with an enormous amount of greenery, no taste..i asked for coca cola, i got pepsi,..totally disappointed in the celebration of your 48th birthday wife.. we definitely won't come there again..from my side I don't recommend it.

Nice location, great atmosphere and friendly service. Strangely enough, it wasn't busy at all for a Sunday evening, but unfortunately the food was a bit disappointing. It was not bad but not special either and the price/quality ratio was therefore a bit lacking, also because of the small portions. And 12 euros for 1.5 liters of table water, that's pretty much it.

The food was fine, but for me it could have been a little more exciting/outspoken, it was a bit boring for our taste. The flan was very tasty!

You are always welcome here with both small and large groups. The atmosphere is relaxed, the service friendly and the choice of dishes is wide and delicious. We regularly come here with colleagues for lunch or drinks, and it is great every time. Definitely recommended!

We were there during Valentine's Day dinner, and everything was perfectly organized! The door was held open for us as we entered, and the menu was not out-of-this-world creative, but all the food was so incredibly delicious. Had a very nice experience! Things like that on Valentine's Day are always a bit awkward, but that's part of the charm :)

Beautiful place, from the outside and the inside. High ceilings, spacious, beautiful interior. The food was good! Really good. I had the fish salad, different types of fish on a bed of salad. My friend had the mashed avocado on bread. He was also happy. It is not cheap. The only minus was that I prefer my ginger tea grated instead of sliced. The waiter didn't even want to make the effort to ask to get it done. Other than that, I would certainly recommend it.

Had a fantastic evening with a group!

We had a nice evening. Starters with mackerel and beef bulgogi were interesting and tasty, although the mackerel lacked something salty. The curry I had was ok; some vegetables were really undercooked, the fish was overcooked and the taste was comparable to a curry package from the supermarket. Definitely not bad or dirty, but not really tasty either. The guinea fowl was incredibly good, we were impressed by the Jerusalem artichoke puree and the rich flavor of the gravy. I found the waitress very pleasant, friendly and correct. When I indicated that the curry was not great, she tried to think along very well and she also offered a small compensation for the feedback. Finally; the creme brulee was delicious!

Had dinner with the family on Boxing Day. Food was decent. However, the 4-course menu was put on the table like an express train. Glad we didn't take 5 courses, we probably would have had to eat dessert in the car. Perhaps you can give the 2 shift system a better twist, so that guests do not feel like they are in a rush.

We always enjoy coming to In de Kazerne, but after our experience this Christmas we love them even more! On Christmas Day we were going to have lunch with Grandma. We had made a reservation for a buffet elsewhere, because unfortunately you were already fully booked (otherwise we would of course have gone to you). Unfortunately, grandma was unable to leave the house at the last minute due to her health. We decided to have lunch with her at home, but of course all the shops were closed, so we couldn't get anything anymore. On a whim, I called In de Kazerne and asked if they could do something for us. It felt like a cheeky question, especially during the Christmas hustle and bustle, but I wanted to give it a try anyway. How wonderful you were! You immediately put my mind at ease and within an hour I was able to pick up a beautiful package. Not only was it incredibly sweet and thoughtful that you made this possible for us, but the package was also fantastically extensive. And if that wasn't enough, we even got a discount because we couldn't eat it in your restaurant. Thanks to your flexibility, warmth and helpfulness, we were able to give grandma a special Christmas. It meant an awful lot to us. Thank you a thousand times for everything you have done. You guys are really fantastic!

Spent a wonderful Christmas Eve. Food was good, menu slightly different than standard. Also fun with kids.

Een mooie plek maar de lunch waar ik me op verheugd had… viel zo tegen. Ik bestel een tuna melt. Ik krijg 2 halve stukjes stokbrood met daarop iets wat op tonijn moest lijken. Wat stukjes augurk en ui. Ergens zat een mini stukje kaas. Ergste was, dat ik op tijd weg moest van de afscheidslunch van collega. Geen tijd om t terug te sturen, want dan zou ik te laat komen op vervolgafspraak. Op deze wijze een tuna melt serveren voor €12 euro is een belediging voor t gerecht. Vandaag maak ik er thuis 1 die wel lekker is en stuk goedkoper. Een collega zei; lijkt wel een cafetaria gerecht. 😳

Wij hebben gebruik gemaakt van Dine at Dome! Een geweldige plek , mooie kerstsfeer, lekker warm! Wat een fijne kaart! Alles ziet er zo goed en lekker uit, verder wordt het zorgvuldig geserveerd door een nette en vriendelijke bediening
