Loetje Zwolle in Wijk 12 Wipstrik

A visit to Loetje Zwolle on a Monday evening was, unfortunately, a disappointment. The staff present seemed insufficient for the number of visitors. We had to wait more than half an hour before anyone came to ask for a drink. Menus were not available on the terrace, and the QR code did not appear to work. The steak was overcooked and the accompanying bread was forgotten. The bread was only brought after asking again, but the gravy had already cooled down considerably. In short, a disappointment.

We have decided we want to become regular guests!

Had a delicious meal and a beautiful location; you can also park your car easily.

We have given the restaurant in Zwolle a chance twice now. The first time (about a year ago), we were not greeted upon arrival, were subsequently ‘forgotten’ by the waitress when taking our order, and then our food order was lost as well. We had to chase this up ourselves, and after 45 minutes, they still hadn't resolved it. It wasn't busy, so there was no reason for so much to go wrong for just two people. We pointed this out when paying the bill, and we were met with sheepish looks when we mentioned it. Now that we have given it a second try, it is not much better. This time, we were greeted upon arrival by a waitress who briefly took on her supporting role as hostess, but otherwise, the service was old-fashioned again. No attention paid to people wanting to order, long waits for the food, and steaks (4 identical ones for 4 people) were all cooked differently, even though they were supposed to be the same. We received them ranging from brown to red on the inside. In the meantime, while our drinks were finished and we had started eating, no one asked us if everything was to our liking. And naturally, this was not to our liking. Then came the desserts. The waitress could not explain the flavors of the specials on the menu to us, so we had to guess, and consequently, we waited longer for the desserts than for the main course. Finally, upon leaving, it seemed they didn't want our money. No one wanted to settle the bill with us. All in all, another disappointment. And not worth repeating.

It was once again a lovely evening. The XL steak was delicious. Great for dipping in the delicious gravy, and the dessert from Loetje was surprisingly tasty.

I come here regularly with colleagues/friends. The price is quite a bit more expensive than in the city (steaks are plain, so you have to buy fries etc. on the side). Yes, Loetje, I know that is the concept, but even concepts are subject to change :) What I really don't understand about this place (not too old) is why or if absolutely no one thought about the noise level. Even when the place is half full, you can't understand each other because it is incredibly loud. I think the acoustics could easily be improved.

It is “certainly not” the tastiest steak anymore! In my opinion, pre-cooked and warmed up in the oven after ordering. The quality steak is “not” the classic… unfortunately…

We celebrated my father’s 60th birthday here yesterday. He has acquired brain injury, but at ‘t Loetje they were very understanding and provided us with a quiet spot. Employee Pleun served us with love and humor and, above all, gave my father a wonderful evening. She handled it very well and even waved him goodbye as he left. What a fantastic lady, thanks to her! And the food was delicious :)

I frequently visit other Loetje locations, but I absolutely cannot recommend this one. Despite the low number of customers, no one came to take our drink orders or subsequent food orders. The food was slow, and of course, the bill was also delayed. While there were clearly enough staff members, they didn't pay attention to us or the other customers, prioritizing rearranging tables themselves. As other reviewers have mentioned, they didn't even ask about our preferred doneness. It was an exceptionally low level of service, something I rarely experience. As a Loetje fan, I feel compelled to offer this honest feedback.

The food was super tasty, but unfortunately we had to wait an hour for our food after ordering (on a Tuesday). Additionally, when ordering, we weren't asked how we wanted our meat cooked, and the portion of fries was smaller than I'm used to from Loetje. It's a shame, because previous experiences here were positive.

Overall, the meal was fine. It is a shame, though, that the steak just wasn't that good... Not what I've come to expect from Loetje, at least. You have to order the fries separately; that's fine in itself... but you paid 4.25 for a 'small' portion and 6.75 for a large one, even though I think there's a difference of 5 fries in terms of portion size... A bit of a shame. The dessert was also disappointing: apple pie with vanilla ice cream. Unfortunately, the vanilla ice cream was completely crystallized inside and basically melted before it even arrived. All in all, we won't be coming back here anytime soon.

Had to wait 45 minutes for the main course! The steak was overcooked, lukewarm, and literally swimming in butter gravy. The fish was not tasty, far too salty, and was also sitting in a plate full of gravy. Once is enough, never coming back!!

We were here with part of the family for a quick drink before an important event. There were about 20 of us. We received excellent service and had a nice large table. Great service without a reservation. Thanks again. 👍

Well, Loetje Zwolle... just fine!

It really is a very nice, neat restaurant with parking right on the premises. However, the food (lunch) was a huge disappointment to us. A salmon club sandwich (dry bread, way too much sauce) and a hamburger (not tender, lacking flavor). Considering the prices (which are well above average), I find that quite mediocre. The quality really needs to improve (or the price go down).

Upon entering Loetje, a friendly welcome, impeccable service; they are nice and helpful. I found the furniture we were seated on to be substandard: a small, worn-out table with two wooden chairs. The main course that Loetje is known for, the steak, was served on cold plates, with the result that after two small bites, my girlfriend's plate was already sent back to the kitchen because the gravy was curdling. We naturally had to wait for that (I kept eating, otherwise plate number 2 would have gone back to the kitchen immediately). The other dishes were OK, except for the standard fries, which could be fried a bit longer because the end result was not "nice and crispy". Paid the bill and gave the staff a good tip because they do a good job, but I don't think this is worth 120 euros. To be clear: I have eaten at several Loetje restaurants (Amsterdam, Haarlem, Hilversum, etc.), but in my opinion, Loetje Zwolle scores low in comparison.

We were a little too early on the terrace. We were immediately pointed out twice, both outside and inside, that they were barely open at 11:20 in the morning. No good morning; we were invisible to these two young ladies with an air... The young lady who came outside shouted it from a distance. Because a lot of noise arose on the terrace from branches being sawed, we walked inside. The lady behind the counter said immediately that they were not open, no good morning. 11:20, doors open. She wasn't busy; she was just standing behind the counter. Her face remained emotionless; she didn't flinch. I said that I would have brought something else, a nice cup of cappuccino right away and the lunch menu in advance. We said that we were going to have lunch somewhere else. She said, "Have a nice day." Missed opportunity, no €60 earned from us, we won't be coming back here.

Disgusting, how much you have declined in quality. Poor service, wrong order, no customer focus whatsoever, and then making customers wait for a simple bill. This was not only disappointing, but downright shameful for a restaurant that once had a good reputation. What an incredibly bad experience that cost 75 euros. We arrived when it was quiet and were shown to a table by a man with brown hair, blue eyes, and a stubble beard. Next, I ordered a steak with garlic, but I received a plain steak without garlic. I wasn't even asked how I wanted it cooked (rare, medium, or well done), something you would expect in a restaurant. Additionally, no one came to the table to ask if everything was to our liking or if it tasted good, which is also what you should expect in a restaurant. When we were finished, the same employee came to ask if we wanted anything to drink or dessert. I replied politely: "No thank you, the bill please." From that moment on, it seemed as if he was personally offended. Instead of bringing the bill, he made us wait for nearly 20 minutes while he helped various other guests who were already being served by another colleague. After we asked for the bill again, another employee went to consult with him. He then started walking through the restaurant asking other tables if they had been served yet, even though those tables had already been served by colleagues. Everything seemed more important than the customers who had been waiting for their bill for 20 minutes. He literally walked everywhere except to our table. A few more minutes and I would have left without paying, only to contact them later. That is how absurd this situation was. This is without a doubt one of the most unprofessional and customer-unfriendly experiences I have ever had in a hospitality establishment. The only positive point of the evening was the young, slender lady with brown hair and blue eyes. She was friendly, professional, and seemed to take her job seriously. Without her, this experience would have had absolutely nothing positive. For me, that is reason enough never to return here.

The steak was really delicious, 5 stars! Furthermore, the beetroot tartare starter was far too spicy, a waste of the flavor. The restaurant was incredibly noisy, poor acoustics, so conversations took a lot of effort and it wasn't really a relaxed dining experience.

Nice restaurant in a pleasant location, though outside the city center. It has a warm and atmospheric interior. It does feel a bit large and massive, which sometimes causes the coziness to be lost. We had lunch with three people: the food was good/okay. We ate meatballs with bread, a Chicken Bali sandwich, and a crispy chicken sandwich. There is ample parking available. A fine experience, but not memorable.

I really wanted to go here to try the plant-based steak. After all, you don't often/ever see that on a menu. To get straight to the point; it was very disappointing. I have seen the texture before with other brands, but I personally didn't find it very pleasant given the thickness of the steak they have at Loetje. It also had a strange taste. Probably from the steak itself, but since I had chosen not to have gravy with it, I couldn't properly judge whether that taste might have come from the gravy or the butter it was fried in. My husband had chosen the schnitzel, but it wasn't very special. Unfortunately, it wasn't crispy either. Plus point: a portion of fries with mayonnaise is fortunately not very small. As for dessert; the chocolate sauce with the Dame Blanche was disappointing. But the scoops of ice cream were nice and big. Regarding practical matters: all the menus we held in our hands were very dirty. And the chairs inside aren't very comfortable. All in all, therefore, not worth repeating. Also because it is very pricey. We had, of course, already seen that online beforehand, but if everything had been great, it might have been worth it. You see, you have to order all the side dishes separately, whereas most restaurants normally include some fries and another small side dish with a main course.

We visit Loetje often. The food is always great! We went yesterday for Mother's Day. This time, we had to wait a very long time for our food. There were 9 of us, including 2 children aged 5 and 6. We had a reservation for 5:30 PM, but the food didn't arrive until 6:45 PM, by which time the gravy had already gone lukewarm. The restaurant wasn't overcrowded, which would have explained the wait. The same thing happened with the dessert. The coffee was long finished, and then we had to wait another 20 minutes for the dessert. We are not used to this from Loetje, and it was quite a disappointment. Especially since the waiting was difficult for the children and my mother, who is almost 90, was getting tired. A shame.

Loetje Zwolle, super delicious food, the steak is tender and cooked just right. The restaurant's decor is really top-notch! Beautiful floors and ceiling, really cozy and finished down to the last detail, so the atmosphere is great. Nice people. Why only 3 stars then? Too expensive, and the steak is offered in 3 sizes and you get the medium without asking; asking would be more polite. And then shelling out €91 for lunch for 2 people is a bit much; this is mainly because you have to pay extra for all the extra fries, onions, and mushrooms. And that doesn't feel right, no matter how delicious the meal was...

A wonderful and cozy place for a family vacation. The menu changes often and I really like it. I ordered a salad with avocado and chicken - it turned out to be incredibly tasty. My husband ordered a burger, which was also delicious. The fries also satisfied the children. I think we will come here again.

Unfortunately for us, it was a very bad experience. My girlfriend and I both became severely nauseous within a few hours of eating (burnt) steak. During the night, the food came right back up for both of us, and we felt terribly ill for the entire weekend that followed. Given that we ate the same thing and experienced exactly the same symptoms, this can hardly be a coincidence. It is a real shame; we won't be going back a second time.

The spacious area to the right after the entrance is a large echo chamber. It is noisy there. You can hear a lot of sound. Can they do something about soundproofing measures? The food was fine and the service was top-notch today.

We first had to wait well over 10 minutes at the “counter” for someone to come and help us. We had made a reservation, so fortunately there was a table available. After not being served for 25 minutes, we just asked if we could order something to drink, as a colleague was supposed to come. After another 10 minutes, no one had arrived yet, and we eventually just walked away. In total, we spent 45 minutes in the restaurant without being served. A waste of time, and also annoying to have to find another place at the last minute, especially since it was already 8:15 PM by then.

FOOD The gravy that tastes like burnt butter with chili sauce is simply a cardinal sin with a dish like Beef Bali. You can do sous-vide as neatly as you like, but if the sauce fails, the whole plate collapses. Those "Dr Ilgo patajes" (I can already feel the disappointment 😅) and a tablespoon of Calvé-like salad... that's not a restaurant experience, that's a canteen with ambition problems. Filling, not nutrition... A 5.5 for the meat is already generous considering the context. + point: lots of fries for a regular portion! + sweet potato was delicious, according to my wife. All of the above is fine, but the prices on the menu are very misleading and antisocial. I'm happy to pay €40 for a steak, but having to buy €5 worth of mushrooms and another €5 worth of onions is ridiculous! Oh yeah... I also have to pay an extra €7 for some fries. It was good, but I'll never go there again. In short... fine dining prices, but it's just not quite right.

The food was delicious, but the ambiance was a bit disappointing. On December 14th, we had lunch and had meatballs with bread. The meatballs were dry and the gravy was burnt. It's a shame.

We've eaten at this Zwolle location several times for over a year now. Unfortunately, the quality isn't the same as in the rest of the Netherlands (or at least much of it). The meat is dry, and the Beef Bali, which we always love, isn't prepared the same way either. Often, there's too little sambal and it's overcooked, so it's more like "well done" than "medium rare." Unfortunately... we like Loetje, and it's close by, but when we feel like it again, we'd rather drive to another location where the quality is good.

My wife and I always loved going to Loetje, and we've also been there quite a few times in Zwolle/Arnhem/Gorssel. After a very bad experience with Loetje Gorssel, we'd practically given this chain up. (We wrote an extensive review about it at their location. BIZARRE!) Today we gave it another try in Zwolle. We'd had delicious meals there in the past, and they can't help Gorssel's mistakes. We're so happy with Loetje Zwolle! They won us back. We were a bit early but were seated right away. Within 10 minutes, we had our drinks and our order taken. After 20 minutes, we had our food, and it was a real treat. The steaks were a bit crispier than we're used to, but I personally liked that. Actually, there's nothing else to complain about, because everything went exactly as you'd expect! Our waitress was extremely helpful, very polite and clear, and also very quick when we had a question. The food, as I said, was truly delicious. We finished with a delicious dessert and left with a smile on our faces. Loetje Zwolle; Thank you! We would love to come back again (to your location!)

The food was delicious. The service was friendly and prompt. We were shown to a table by the window. Fine, you might think. But it was incredibly drafty, and the neighbors had already complained. The staff told us that unfortunately, nothing could be done about it. That was a bit disappointing. I was cold all evening. When we finished and walked to the exit, we thought, "Wow, it's nice and warm here." So, for future diners, I advise against sitting by the window, especially in the fall/winter. I highly recommend Loetje have someone check it out!

Yesterday, eight colleagues and I dined at Loetje. It was excellent. We all agreed. Great atmosphere, fantastic service, and the food was delicious. The restaurant was almost full, especially on a Wednesday evening. A good choice.

I've been there twice. Honestly? The tenderloin steak is fantastically tender. It's simply a good product. But the Bali sauce or onion and liver with sauce is just a plate of grease with waaaaay too much salt. The Bali was, in my opinion, inedible. My body protested strongly after the first bite. Luckily, the wine recommendation was excellent, and I was able to finish it off. All in all, my unvarnished summary is a meat-eating den without any inspiration. If I try to think differently, it's a cafeteria with steak on the menu. I'll definitely never go back. Think before you leap. But give it a try if you have to... We wanted to grab a sandwich. The service was friendly. The food took a very long time to arrive. After a cup of tea and a coffee, I asked when it would be coming. In total, we waited about 40 minutes for two sandwiches (tuna and chicken). I barely ate the chicken. It didn't seem cooked through. But okay, that's my own choice. For what I paid, I wasn't satisfied with the experience. I mentioned this to the staff when I paid. But hey, the damage is already done. So, it's useless. It wasn't busy at all (12-1 p.m.). Maybe the kitchen wasn't open yet, but let me know. If there's one thing I hate, it's waiting without knowing how much longer. The kitchen was playing music, so I was hearing two things at once.

Unfortunately, this evening didn't quite live up to our expectations. The risotto was a bit too salty for my taste and was mostly vegetables and sauce, so I missed the typical creamy risotto flavor. The service was otherwise friendly. The carpaccio appetizer was also delicious.

The 300g steak was probably the weight before it was dry-fried. They don't even ask how you want it cooked (I like it rare to medium-rare), and then that piece of meat arrives bathed in a watery but salty gravy with a very faint hint of garlic. Fries were served as specified (the server asked about them), but not a trace of vegetables. When someone finally came to answer my question, it turned out you have to order those separately. Apparently, the restaurant assumes people can live on overcooked meat, cheap white bread, and fries. Even a small bowl of coleslaw isn't included as standard. Pro: there's plenty of sauce with the fries. Con: no mayonnaise, but fries sauce. This remains a one-time visit to Loetje.

We reserved a table for eight. Unfortunately, it was in the middle of the room, which was quite noisy. Two of us can't handle so much stimulation. We asked if we could sit somewhere quieter. That wasn't a problem and was very well taken care of. It was definitely appreciated. The food and drinks were delicious and well-prepared. We did have to ask for extra serving spoons/forks for the side dishes, but that was also quickly taken care of. We will definitely be back! Fam.Biljard.

This isn't Loetje as it used to be. The original Loetje was exceptional. This one only bears the name... It's not above and beyond your average restaurant.

Unfortunately, there was also a hair in the steak. We didn't mention this until later, because we didn't want to complain, but we finally mentioned it (otherwise, we would have ordered medium next time). The waiter handled it very politely and offered a suitable solution by waiving the dessert charge. Perfect solution!

Normally, you cancel, which is anything but professional. Unfortunately, that wasn't an option for us, as it was already printed in the announcement. The drinks themselves were also a disaster. You expect drinks to be ready, as discussed, and to be offered repeatedly. The snacks arrived after half an hour, not after a good hour when several guests had already left. Loetje, or the team on those days, didn't understand, didn't get it, and didn't sense it. Being busy is no excuse. There were no other guests. Such a shame!
