We had made a reservation for 7:15 PM, and at 7:00 PM we were there and could be seated immediately. The service is fast; we had our food on the table within 20 minutes. Deliciously tender meat. And a good price.

To round off our family vacation, we had a delicious meal at De Beren Zwolle. Seriously good food at a very competitive menu price. The ribs and gyoza starters were delightfully spicy. The crispy chicken as a main course also had a nice spiciness. The other dishes were also a real hit. A small side note, but that is mainly a matter of personal taste. We are not fans of fries sauce, we prefer mayo. One of us really didn't like the sauce with the fries, and the rest were mediocre. All in all, we had a really successful evening, with the service being very attentive regarding drinks and the like. A small side note there too: only take empty bottles away when you bring new drinks, not in between. But this is a detail and doesn't mean we didn't have a wonderful evening.

We had high tea. They didn't come to check on us for extra tea. We had to go to the bar ourselves to ask. They didn't have doggy bags. The food was fine, but nothing special. Tomato soup in a regular cup instead of a bowl.

Very tasty food, friendly staff, and a nice atmosphere. Where we sat, you are seated a bit close together with the other tables and can almost literally follow the conversations, but that didn't spoil the fun. There is plenty of choice for food and drinks, and everything is served neatly and on time—maybe even too fast, haha, we were absolutely stuffed and there was definitely no room left for dessert! So, highly recommended and definitely good value for money.

We had a delicious meal. The service was fine. It was a shame that the soup for the starter was served in a broken glass. However, this was resolved quickly and well. A tip for the upcoming hot days: serve the beer in a chilled glass. Otherwise, we enjoyed ourselves.

Had high tea in combination with a Kruidvat promotion. The food was great! It was very tasty and just the right amount. What could be improved: everything arrived at once, causing the hot dishes to become lukewarm/cold. We would split it into a savory round and a sweet round. That looks nicer on the table and is easier regarding the temperature. Also, we weren't asked how we enjoyed it afterwards, which was a shame because we could have told them face-to-face. Still, had a nice time and the food was great!

A very pleasant experience, with a lovely atmosphere and ambiance. Perfect for a quiet conversation during dinner. Our three-course dinner was served on time and the food was delicious and just as beautiful as in the photos online. I found the tomato soup to be slightly less strong in flavor, but the rest was perfect.

The food wasn't great. The starter was actually the best part. We had soup and truffle croquettes. For the main course, we had pork tenderloin. The pork tenderloin was way overcooked and very dry. The vegetables were absolutely not grilled well. We had Dame Blanche for dessert. The menu listed hot chocolate sauce; however, it came from a can and was cold. Service was very good, very friendly, and followed up well. It was quite noisy in the place. It is a nice restaurant, though.

Had high tea there with my girlfriend. Food was great. Service was excellent. Unfortunately, one minor downside: we had to ask for tea twice. But otherwise, it was great. I'll be back on August 9th. Then with 3 girlfriends.

I found it to be a very positive experience. I asked if I could have half of the menu (steak tips) due to my gastric bypass surgery. This was absolutely no problem. It was very nice that this was possible.

The food is served super fast and is also very tasty. And the cocktails are watery. The lights and everything hanging from the ceiling could definitely use a dusting. We weren't asked how the food tasted or if we wanted extra fries in between courses. Unfortunately, the service leaves much to be desired!! That's despite the fact that there are at most 10 people sitting there. If the place had been full, it would have been different. So if they dot the i's and cross the t's, we'll come back more often, but for now, not again.

We had a delicious and lovely high tea with the Kruidvat promotion of 27.50 for 2 people. Warm churros and apple pie. 2 different sandwiches. Fresh tea. And other tasty sweet treats. Only the tomato soup could have been a bit warmer, but it was 30°C outside so we didn't mind too much.

We have reduced our 5 stars to 3 stars. We came with great pleasure before it was closed for a while. But we found the service substandard; tables were barely checked to see if anyone wanted another drink or if tables were cleared. We were not asked if we wanted dessert and eventually left. We dined here via Social Deal. And although it was a Social Deal menu with limited choices, what was served was excellently prepared and super tasty. Definitely recommended! And having the cinema right next door makes for a complete night out.

Very friendly staff and the food was very good!

We had booked a high tea via a Kruidvat discount. We received a whopping one cup of tea per person. The dishes included with the high tea were fine, but there was far too much of it! The service was mediocre. We ordered an extra drink ourselves and had to pay for it separately. It was a pleasant afternoon, but from now on, I think I will go somewhere else for high tea.

I can highly recommend De Beren. We were well served by the owner, and I can also recommend the chef.

Great place to grab a bite to eat on a date. Everything is deliciously prepared and the waiting times are barely noticeable. The atmosphere is incredibly cozy and warm. The prices are quite reasonable, especially for a restaurant. There is not much to complain about.

We had a delicious meal here with 6 people. Everyone had more than enough on their plate. The staff were all friendly as well. Only 4 stars because the toilets were dirty. It has been a long time since they were mopped or wiped down anywhere.

We ate at De Beren last Tuesday and Thursday. We had a truly fantastic experience. The staff were super sweet and friendly and very attentive. The bartender was also very friendly, and everything gave a very warm feeling.

2 stars because the staff was fine. There was a heavy, musty smell of deep-fried food; there is definitely something wrong with the ventilation there. The food is also the quality of a bad snack bar. Everything is just fake, packed with sugar and junk ready-made straight from packets. All dishes have that fake wok sauce. The burger was incredibly salty, and even the fries have a layer of breading, and the sauce is yet another one of those fake mayo with a lot of sugar or sweetener. The crème brûlée was straight from the fridge and the top was just lightly caramelized, but the rest was cold. It is also a dark, bear-like den; maybe a fine atmosphere in the winter, but I wouldn't know why anyone would sit here in the summer. The point is, all that fake sauce junk isn't necessary, just like using decent fries with real mayonnaise. It doesn't have to cost anything extra either. A shame.

Things have really gone downhill in recent years. Last time, the spare ribs were dripping with grease, and now a child had to wait an hour and 15 minutes for her grilled cheese sandwich. And unfortunately, the service/host was unfriendly. A real shame.

Last Thursday, I had a delicious meal at De Beren! I had the rib fingers as a starter, the salmon for my main course, and the apple crumble for dessert. Everything was well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. The portion of rib fingers was larger than expected! We sat at a high table with a leather bench. It was a nice place, spacious and quiet, but the upholstery on the bench could use replacing. Otherwise, we had a fantastic evening!

We ate at this restaurant tonight. It wasn't warm enough inside. The staff wasn't friendly. The waitress who helped us was very rude. The tomato soup we started with wasn't warm enough. It took a very long time to get the next course. I expected more.

A fine restaurant, nothing special, but the service is very slow and you're practically forgotten. It's not unusual to have to wait a very long time for service.

The staff is super friendly and great! Beautiful restaurant. But the food... The rib fingers are just absolutely terrible... they're just soggy sparerib leftovers. The hamburger is just as bad as McDonald's... the burgers are really thin and there's a sticky, stray piece of lettuce on top. The dessert was okay... nothing special. De Beren was great years ago, but not anymore.

Friendly service and delicious food!

We had a wonderful meal last Friday. The spicy (not really spicy, more like sweet and sour) chicken thigh fillet was delicious! I just tried to recreate it. It was also good, but not as good as at De Beren. We sat at a table for two in a row with four other tables. We thought the tables were too close together. We could hear the conversation from the table next to us. My tip is to have four tables in a row instead of five.

Fantastic food, delicious cocktails, super food. Great atmosphere and accommodations. And last but not least: very friendly staff.

A wonderful evening at De Beren Zwolle! Yesterday I went to De Beren Zwolle with my two children and took advantage of the Kruidvat offer: two three-course dinners for the price of one. Highly recommended! From the moment we walked in, we received a warm welcome. Host and owner Erik was incredibly enthusiastic and engaged with his guests, which immediately created a cozy atmosphere. Chef Tijn even came to personally serve the plates – that makes a dinner extra special. The food was delicious and everything was perfectly prepared. We really enjoyed the cozy and welcoming atmosphere. It's clear that they work with passion here. In short: a fantastic experience for all ages, with delicious food and top-notch service. You can eat well, the staff is nice

We used to go to Barend en Brutus Beer—back when each restaurant still had its own name and the meat was served on a wooden platter. The name has changed slightly, the tableware has become a bit more conventional... but the meat is still just as delicious! And when we asked for a piece to be cooked "extra rare," something some restaurants find difficult, it was prepared absolutely deliciously.
