Super tasty, veeeeery big pizzas with delicious thin dough and generous toppings. More than enough to satisfy a big hunger.

The food was of very good quality and very tasty, and the pizza was huge. We were delighted with the excellent price, and the service was also very good.

EDIT after 3 years: Amsterdam's L'Osteria has definietly done it's homework. Pizzas are even bigger than before, ingredients are premium and the service is quick and pleasant (well, maybe except that one snotty-nosed boy one time). My wife always orders gniocchi gambretti and these were on point too. Really happy to be back and feel welcomed and served just right. And love the new fresco Good job guys! ------------------------------------------- Very disappointed. We have been regular customers for the past five years. But something really bad has happened to this place within the last couple of months. Every time we come around, there's different staff on the floor and in the kitchen, and it always feels understaffed. We have waited more that one hour to get our order (just a pizza and a gniocchi). Gniocchi was dripping in grease, the sauce was lumpy and it felt heavy on the stomach. My capricciosa was dry and the olives were of poor quality compared to the original ones with pits. At the same time the restaurant charges 1 eur extra "energy costs" per dish. Two stars is only because of the great waiting staff who did everything they could to make the experience not a complete disaster. You guys really need to think this place over if you don't want to lose customers like us. We will most likely give it a break this year, perhaps it will get better by that time and we'll be happy to come back.

Update May 2026 Ate a tasty pizza again tonight. We were sitting by the French door in a cold breeze. We asked the waiter if we could move to another table. That was possible. Then, when the pizzas were being served, one of the waitresses came over rather unfriendly to say that we were not allowed to move to another table on our own initiative. When we indicated that it had been discussed with a colleague, no apology was made for this incorrect assumption; instead, she walked away without saying anything. A shame, it set an unpleasant tone for the evening. Feb 2026 Had a very tasty meal. Super large pizzas and delicious pasta. Nice decor, friendly service, and a nice location.

Terrible feedback because they had specified that in the group there was 1 person allergic to gulidine and 1 allergic to garlic but this was not taken into consideration...our request therefore we had to wait 30 minutes for our starters among which were poor quality and the overcooked pasta was horrible and the pizza was also disappointing.

We went there for lunch. It was absolutely delicious! Definitely recommended ;-)

A wonderful place - outdoors in May ☀ friendly, smiling and lovely waiters. Lovely and really tasty food, we had 2 different pasta dishes really delicious. We will definitely come again and would recommend it to others who are going to visit Amsterdam.

It is a great place to eat even with big groups. We had a nice servant Liana and had a nice experience with the group. It was a little bit too much food, so ist was a little bit wasted. All in all I would absulutly promote this restaurant.

Despite a minor hiccup, the staff were able to immediately adapt to our huge group and serve up a fantastic buffet. They were all very friendly—especially Liana, who served us right up until the end of her shift.

On sunny days, it's lovely to look out over the Amstel. The pizzas are veeeery big and tasty. However, the toilet gets very busy when it's beach weather.

We were sitting at the bar this afternoon and Lau served us; he is a nice, friendly man. Absolutely great, we'll be back for him more often ;)

The pizza is incredibly delicious! Tiramisu is my favorite! The kids loved it! It's great that there's a playground nearby!

Nice place, great atmosphere, good food at a reasonable price. We did have to wait a long time for the food, though. They forgot our coffee order after the meal. And it would be appreciated if staff who can speak (a little) Dutch would actually do so. It is nice to notice when people make an effort for you. Otherwise, the staff was very friendly. The three stars as a total rating would be four if we hadn't had to wait as long.

Food and place fantastic, service really terrible!! Not recommended.

To start with, this is a very nice location with a playground and a large terrace. Unfortunately, the wait staff were unable to deliver our order of a few glasses of beer, soft drinks, and water within half an hour. When the order finally arrived, it turned out that not everything was correct. The system is such that one person stands behind the bar to make the drinks and several people walk around with phones to take orders. Apparently, that doesn't work. Do something about it. It is a real shame that things went wrong like this, because we left early due to this and would certainly have consumed more in a more favorable scenario. The pizza arrived after an hour, which was another downside. It did taste fine, though. This place has potential, but the service really needs to change.

very disappointing in contrast to the german version of this. we weren’t offered a seasonal menu, so we had to ask for it. it then turned out, 30 minutes after ordering, that they don’t even offer the asparagus pizza anymore. a very annoyed staff member came and asked me what i wanted to eat instead but didn’t have a menu with him. in total we waited 45 minutes for our food and two tables that arrived after us began eating already. very frustrating. we were also seated in the toilet aisle, so it was quite busy. the reception staff was very nice though while we waited for a table. sadly our waiter misunderstood us and instead of the “receipt” we got a “tiramisu”. i don’t know how you can hear that but alright. we also weren’t offered to pay cash, but that’s todays normal i guess.

Great vibe and food was excellent! It was bustling - we arrived around 17:30 and no one was there but it was packed by the time we left. Good gluten free options.

Unfortunately, we had to sit outside, which was extremely uncomfortable. The food arrived very late. The pizza was delicious and very, very large.

Reserved for 18:15, only to stand waiting outside for another fifteen minutes. Then waited 10 minutes before someone came to take our order. On top of that, an XL-sized pizza on an oval plate?? Making cutting impossible. Waiters who didn't notice that the glass on the table was empty; we ordered anyway, and it still didn't arrive….

A very interesting Italian restaurant just steps from the Mercure City Hotel. Delicious and enormous pizza, the size of a car tire! The staff was amazing in their kindness, speed, and attentiveness. A peaceful atmosphere that left a lasting impression on me. Bravo!

I was completely dissatisfied here; the only good thing was the location right on the water. Upon arrival, we were left standing around for ages, then seated outside in moderate temperatures. The drinks were served relatively quickly, but I had to wait an hour and a half for my spaghetti, and then it was only lukewarm. I didn't leave a tip for that; that's no way to treat guests. It's nice to see that the local guests had a better experience.

Very disappointed with L’Oisteria. When we arrived with guests, they hadn't noted down our reservation; no table, only outside while it was freezing. Last time there was also a grumpy waitress, and now I'm done with it; I really won't be coming back, even though the location is unique and the food is decent, comparable to an average Italian restaurant.

I celebrated my birthday in the private room and it was the best decision! The food, the staff, the decor, the overall atmosphere—everything was excellent. My guests all agreed. Everything was amazing. I recommend it 100%. THANK YOU TO THE STAFF AT L'OSTERIA!

We ordered the bruschetta picola as a starter. I had the pasta dish Orecchiette di Manzo al Limone for the main course. Both dishes were very delicious. My friend ordered a pizza. It's quite large; it's actually for two people. It was a bit chilly downstairs, but the service was good.

Waiting time for a Margherita pizza was 45 minutes, even though the place was almost empty.....

I’m never going to this restaurant ever again. Yesterday, I ordered the ‘Maccheroncini Pollo alla Romana’ and the pasta came out with NO chicken whatsoever. This pasta was labelled under the Carne (meat) section so the first listed ingredient was chicken filet. I then requested for chicken and then they charged me another €6 for something that was supposed to already be on there. By the time I got the chicken filet, my pasta became cold. I felt disappointed in this experience. I wasn’t sure if it was negligence or they were trying to scam me because I was an English speaker.

The friendly staff always goes above and beyond to provide you with excellent service as quickly as possible. Pizza unnecessarily big. Became a bit awkward at the table and the plates were much smaller than the pizza size. The taste was really good though and the guy helping us very cute and helpful. Eventhough he had to be in charge of the full upperfloor which made the food come in quite late. Price / quality very good.

We had a fantastic date; the sweetheart just hadn't eaten breakfast yet. But with the pizza, the size of which could have fit five of our heads together, this hungry hunk really captivated my heart.

Had a fantastic breakfast with my date. He had a Margherita, and so did I. We wolfed down the pizza before peacefully heading back to the Sparklerweg metro station.

We spontaneously decided to visit this restaurant as we are familiar with it from Germany. We were seated promptly and received excellent service from „Alex“. He is extremely pleasant and helpful, and his colleague at the bar is also very friendly. The restaurant has a wonderful atmosphere, and I will definitely return when I visit Amsterdam again. Highly recommended.

We came here for a seasonal team dinner for work. We had a shared food menu and its amazing. Some dishes need slightly more taste. The pizzas were amazing. Pasta is not my thing but it looked nice! The staff is friendly. Location is super nice. I bet in summer it will be even better.

For us, the perfect place to eat with small children. Food comes quickly, there's a lovely playground in the summer where parents have a good overview, and the service is truly excellent.

I stood in line twice this summer, and each time, just as it was my turn, I heard the kitchen was closing. I let that pass. But this time was the last straw. I picked up some pasta, paid extra for vegetables, but they weren't even included. The dish was mostly oil with a very light, minimal tomato sauce—you can hardly even call it tomato sauce. It was also lukewarm. Truly awful. I went back and got my money back, but never again.
