I waited more than 5 minutes for a take away coffee. There were 3 baristas at the till, more preoccupied with taking selfies and chatting with their visiting friends than taking or making orders. 3 baristas managed to make 2 coffees in 5 minutes! And dared to prompt me for a POS tip while at it! Amazing!

When the bar is in hell, Lot61 holds the door open I’ve lived in Amsterdam for five years now, so I’ve come to accept that service in this city can be… indifferent. But Lot61 today truly set a new benchmark for apathy. I walked in on an autumnal Sunday, just hoping for a latte on my work break. The woman behind the counter met me not with a greeting, but with what I can only describe as pure disdain. No “hello,” no “what can I get you,” just a silent, hostile stare that made me wonder if I was tripping out and accidentally walked into her bedroom instead of a café. I even laughed a little out of discomfort, an awkward human response, my ego wanting to lash out but I remembered we are all human, and kept quiet. She responded with a stink eye. The entire interaction was so contemptuous it bordered on surreal. I left feeling like I’d somehow offended someone simply by existing. Normally, I don’t write reviews. I prefer giving feedback in person, I know people have off days, and I believe in giving them the chance to correct in real time. But in this case, basic communication wasn’t just missing; it was actively refused. If Lot61 wants to brand itself as too cool to care, well congratulations mission accomplished. But for anyone expecting even a hint of warmth or professionalism, be warned: the coffee might be hot, but the welcome is ice-cold.

got a cookie fresh out of the oven and I can confidently say it was one of the best I tried from a bakery. the lady is a truly wonderful person (not only she’s very kind, but she offered me the fresh cookie even though there were already some in the display case). recommend!

I’ve tried a lot(ha-ha) of high quality coffee cafes but this is one of the best if not the best coffee in town. They also import the coffee from Tana Toraja Indonesia🙌. Very nice people as well. Pasteries are delicious! And you will get a bit slice 🍞

A classic Amsterdam cafeteria, nothing different from hundreds of others. Unfortunately, the espresso had an unpleasantly acidic taste. While sitting outside, a pigeon pooped on me — if you offer outdoor seating, please make sure guests are protected from things like that ! :)

Terrible customer service. Paid a little over €8 for a cappuccino and a decaf cappuccino. The decaf was completely burnt and undrinkable. Staff were more interested in chatting with each other than serving customers, completely ignored. Definitely not recommended.

Really good matcha!! And the coffee has also been approved by a coffee lover, highly recommended. The barista was super nice, and you can also sit nicely in the back of the cafe; it's very quiet and has a pleasant atmosphere.

Place is great. Great coffee and pastries are incredibly fresh and tasty. Zo lekker! Peanut butter jelly pastry was incredible followed by the banana bread which was chunky and moist. Large area inside to seat as well as benches outside facing the street. Perfect location by a bridge on a canal. Recommended!

Their specialty coffee is good compared to the level of coffee shops in Amsterdam. I had a filter coffee, but it is a bit far from the center and its seating is not great, and it does not have sweet desserts, so you only have coffee.

Perfect coffee shop, happy to meet you in Malta after one week in Gozo and no coffee drinkable! We tried a V60 : fantastic! Thanks for food and coffe with kind baristas!

Best coffee in Oud-West. I come here often and am never consistently happy. Semi laptop friendly. There’s space to work on the counters that line the walls downstairs, but the stools are at awkward heights making it somewhat uncomfortable to do work on. There’s nice benches outside to enjoy your iced lattes on sunny days. I would highly recommend this place.

The matcha is truly awful compared to the Lot61 at Central Station. It's very misleading that it's also called Lot61, since they use completely different recipes and ingredients. The homemade strawberry syrup is undrinkable—extremely sour, not sweet at all. They also use very little matcha.

Last Sunday, I stopped by your location on Kinkerstraat, Amsterdam, with a friend to try your coffee. The long queue outside made us think it would be worth the wait. When we reached the counter, we ordered a coffee and a cappuccino to go. We noticed the total didn't match the prices displayed, so we kindly asked for clarification. Unfortunately, the response from the staff was extremely unprofessional. There were two young women and a man behind the counter. One of the women in particular, who said she was Greek, spoke to us in an overly familiar and inappropriate tone, with exaggerated gestures. She told us that it's been normal for 15 years to charge 10 cents extra for take-away cups, and that she had given us a large cappuccino “as a favour.” She added that we could get our money back if we wanted — but we weren’t asking for a refund, just a clear explanation of the price difference. Our experience left us disappointed and uncomfortable. A piece of advice: please train your staff in proper customer service. The team we interacted with was genuinely rude. Also — and we say this as Italians — the coffee was awful. We ended up throwing it away. We won’t be coming back.

Cuando llegamos al mostrador, pedimos un café y un capuchino para llevar. Nos dimos cuenta de que el total no coincidía con los precios mostrados, por lo que pedimos amablemente aclaraciones. Lamentablemente, la respuesta del personal fue extremadamente poco profesional. Había dos mujeres jóvenes y un hombre detrás del mostrador. Una de las mujeres en particular, que dijo ser griega, nos habló en un tono demasiado familiar e inapropiado, con gestos exagerados. Ella nos dijo que ha sido normal durante 15 años cobrar 10 centavos extra por tazas para llevar, y que nos había dado un gran capuchino “como un favor”. Agregó que podríamos recuperar nuestro dinero si quisiéramos, pero no estábamos pidiendo un reembolso, solo una explicación clara de la diferencia de precio. Nuestra experiencia nos dejó decepcionados e incómodos. Un consejo: capacite a su personal en un servicio al cliente adecuado. El equipo con el que interactuamos fue genuinamente grosero. Además —y lo decimos como italianos— el café era horrible. Terminamos desperdiciándolo. No volveremos.

A perfect pit stop on a drizzly museum-hopping day. LOT61 pours a smooth, deeply flavorful cold brew that hit exactly right when I needed a recharge. Tucked into a cozy corner with industrial charm, this spot knows its beans and keeps things focused. Fast, friendly, and seriously good coffee.

This is the best speciality coffee place in Amsterdam hands down. I am talking about coffee and desserts. The espresso was soothing. I highly recommend the connamon roll (amazing), I also recommend the lemon cake which was mesmerizing and delicious. The peanut butter and jelly was ok tbh.

Compared to Kinkerstraat, coffee badly made and very loud techno music while it is set up as a laptop workplace. Really a completely different atmosphere. And there was continuous shouting by the employees..

Very nice guy. Dominant coffee with woody notes, roasted for a long time, similar to illy Caffe. And there was also a test can of cold latte for free :)

Very normal, they don't have v60

Decent matcha quality. Strong flavour and good froth, pretty latte art! Some chunks in the bottom of the cup as they used an electric whisk in the cup (rather than a bowl) so almost impossible to whisk it completely.

The coffee is delicious and there are more seats than I expected.

After seeing all the good comments with my boyfriend we were a little bit deceived. The client service wasn’t the most warming and they forgot to give my boyfriend the plate and spoon for his cappuccino. As a specialty coffee lover I wasn’t convinced by the coffee either.. Both my expresso and his cappuccino were very bitter compared to other specialty coffees that we’ve tried. They don’t do special brewing methods there, only expresso.

Small, crowded, music blasting, no table service. Some improvised table next to the bathroom and crates full of coffee bags with uncomfortable high stools. Staff not particularly friendly. Everything terrible, really.

I came here to meet a friend. I ordered a chocolate matcha latte and a cinnamon roll. The cinnamon roll was impressively flavorless. I do not even know how you make a cinnamon roll so flavorless. It tasted like white bread. My drink took a long time to make while the barista chatted with someone else behind the bar. When I finally got my drink it was the wrong drink- I received a plain matcha latte (€2 less than what I ordered) which also tasted quite bad. The matcha was of a low quality. When my friend arrived he ordered an espresso. The barista made 2 drinks ahead of him, and then stopped to chat for 5 min. When my friend asked about the drink it was clear she had forgotten entirely and quickly pulled a shot. TLDR: Overly expensive, poor service, worse product

If you are into speciality coffee, make sure you ask the barista and get some recommendations 😎 They have nice testing note designed for customers to learn more about their coffee. It was a special coffee roaster deal for International women’s day. Got to try a super nice coffee and recommendation ☺️ There’s plenty of space inside the coffee shop but could be crowded to get your order as it has nice coffee and a good location by the riverside. Definitely would love to visit it next time!

Lovely coffee with nice latte art. Good location. But rude staff. We came at 5pm. We were told that everything is take away because they are shut in half an hour. That's okay, but google says 6pm. My partner was ordering drinks and I turned to check with my mother what she wants, the staff member scoffed at that and proceeded to show dissatisfaction with putting her face in her palms because it's taking longer. Also no greeting at the door. Won't be coming back as got generally bad customer service.

We ordered 2 hot chocolates to take away which were served to us with a lovely latte art and they were excellent!!!

We ordered espresso and cinnamon roll. The coffee quality was below average and they didn’t warm up the cinnamon roll in winter . I don’t know they didn’t have the facilities to warm up or other reasons.

Let's have a cup of coffee and a tasty snack. Served by a friendly young lady, who spoke to me politely, despite the fact that she was busy. Highly recommended for a strong cup of coffee.

It's a great, high quality restaurant

Coffee is tasty, but it's a pity that the service is mediocre. I arrive around 5 pm, looking forward to a nice cup of coffee after work. Hardly anyone in the shop, so I sit downstairs. Lasts a long time. Apparently the word cappuccino was shouted down, I didn't hear it because of the music. Then don't bother to indicate it, but let it get cold. In the end I picked it up myself and got lukewarm coffee in a cardboard cup for over 4 euros. or not a hospitable friendly place at all.

The first sip was strong af. Thought it was over-extracted but then it got good-better-best!!!

The filter coffee, a natural Kenyan, was nicely roasted and well brewed, neither bitter nor sour allowing the personality of some intriguing beans to show. The cinnamon bun was a passable side.

Very unfriendly. I mentioned how good the price of the double espresso was just to be polite and also as positive feedback. She didn't say a word being super transactional or not even look at my face or smile, not even when I añrrive actually. On the other hand, the blond barista was polite and kind.

A very cozy spot with warm and welcoming staff that elevate the experience, but unfortunately, the coffee fell short. As an espresso lover, the sour taste was disappointing—I couldn’t even finish it.

One of the best coffee places in Ams. Quite dark /strong roast. Don't know if it's the beans or the machine or the baristas but I'll never be able to get my coffee like this.

Sadly I didn’t like their coffee, or their hot chocolate, or their pumpkin spice latte. They were bitter and bland. I don’t see myself returning soon.

Although a decent cup of coffee, I didn’t find anything I really loved about this place. Ambiance is beautiful but the quality of service and coffee did not live up to expectations. I would like to give their coffee beans a shot, but besides that I don’t see myself going back to this place. 4 euros for a mid minuscule flat white with some questionable service is not my ideal cafe experience. I would probably skip the pastel de nata too.
