Great restaurant the food is incredible.

Since we stayed in Amsterdam and it was close to our hotel, we went to this restaurant. The atmosphere was lovely and welcoming. The food was really good, with a wide selection of dishes and reasonable prices. Perhaps a little more smile from the waiters would be nice.

Most of it was tasteless and bad, everything was made from ready-made products, we finished it reluctantly and left. I was very disappointed, this is not Turkish breakfast.

The food itself is fine. However, it is very misleading. It is said that gözleme is part of breakfast. Then, the staff member only allows you to take a 1/3 piece per person. I came specifically for the gözleme. As a result, I was only allowed to taste it.

Scandalous… The open buffet and breakfast were super tasty! The staff were also friendly, but unfortunately the woman who makes the gozleme ruined everything.. The lady told us we could only take one, which was absolutely not true.. I also found her very unfriendly. It is a real shame her unfriendliness ruined it for us. Not worth repeating.

The doner kebab was bad, the meat-filled bread was good, but the service was terrible.

I could write an extensive review of this branch, but it is truly not worth my time. -Service was mediocre; I had to ask twice to get a napkin, with 20+ minutes between each request. Seriously? -Every table has a light that you flip over if you want to order or want something else. My light was flipped over for 40 minutes until I had to wave to a staff member. This is really unacceptable. -The team is large enough to get to work productively, but this is not happening. -Food was cold and dry. -Sauces are those generic little packets that you tear open with difficulty and hope that they open at all after tearing. And if they do open, you are sure to get some on your clothes. -Meat quality was mediocre. The rice was HARD. Hard as if scraped from the bottom of the pan. I am not impressed. The supervisor needs to have a proper talk with the team. You have a beautiful property, don't ruin it.

Ayham is a splendid player! Whatever you need he be flying. All the staff very lovely as well.

We ate at MADO with the whole family today, and the experience was downright bad. We had ordered multiple dishes, but the food was not brought out at the same time. Half of the children received their food while the rest were still sitting and waiting. As a result, the children literally had to fight over the food and share, because not everyone received their order at the same time. It wasn't until fifteen minutes later that plates were brought out again, and by then, two dishes were still awaited. I had explicitly stated that I wanted my dish without yogurt *and* without tomato sauce. Yet, my dish arrived with tomato sauce. I pointed this out and subsequently waited a whopping 20 minutes for a new dish. When it finally arrived, there was yogurt on it *again*. At that point, I decided not to send it back, because by then I had already waited so long and the entire table had finished eating. In the end, I just ate around the yogurt, leaving hardly anything of my dish that I could eat. This was not a minor mistake, but an accumulation of poor service and poor organization. When you go out to eat with an entire family, surely you would expect the dishes to be served at roughly the same time and for a simple, explicit adjustment to an order to be executed correctly. For us, it was an incredibly disappointing experience.

I do not recommend going to this place. The atmosphere is very toxic, the treatment is terrible, and the employees are treated with contempt by the owners, especially the owner. He is clever; he creates a toxic environment and shouts at the workers in front of us without any shame. This is not a home, and the workers are not your children to be raised in the workplace.

We ate at Mado today, what an experience. The food was top-notch and Mr. Ayham's service was out of this world. Seriously, he ran around for us to take care of everything. My little one dropped the cola and he fixed it immediately. He also gave us a tea on the house. Combined with the delicious food, he really took our experience to the next level. Thank you Mado and Ayham!

The staff were friendly and helpful in every way. We had a reservation, but there was space available. The place was quiet. We found a parking spot on the street, but you might not always be so lucky. There's a parking lot in a back street. We went for the buffet breakfast. The food was delicious; a staff member would cook and serve you fresh gözleme (Turkish flatbread) whenever you wanted. Every food item was in its original container; I didn't see any empty containers. One issue I encountered was that products like cheese and salami had lids on them to keep them covered, but opening them was difficult; people had stacked the lids on top of each other, creating a crooked, unattended mess. It gave the impression that they hadn't been properly cared for. Also, there weren't tongs for each item. I think the lids should be removed and tongs added. The teapot that came to the table was a nice touch. Thank you.

Two small teas cost 5 euros; the employee was indifferent and grumpy.

The water pastry (su böreği) that was advertised online as part of the spread breakfast wasn't served. It was a very mediocre breakfast. There were no Çengelköy cucumbers. The french fries were cold and hard. I don't recommend it at all.

Serving frozen cheesecake is quite unusual. However, when you bring this up with the waitress and subsequently receive cheesecake again—but thawed in the microwave (and half-melted)—it is truly appalling. Never again Mado.

We have been coming here often lately. Maraş ice cream is very tasty, as is the homemade baklava. I am vegetarian, so I am very happy with the vegetarian pasta. I also want to explicitly mention that we are served very well by Mr. Ayham. He does his job excellently.

I came back from a holiday in Turkey and the hot food here tastes the same as in Turkey. Delicious and the atmosphere + service is great.

We went for a drink and found a lovely, comfortable spot for five. It was quite busy, but it never felt overwhelming. They had a great menu with plenty of variety, and I especially liked the shop connected to the place, which had lots of lovely products from Turkey.

The kokoreç (lamb intestines) are delicious, I can highly recommend them.

I really like Donner with rice that they sell at the entrance of the restaurant, but the attendants are grumpy most of the time, last time I was there to buy my donner the pickles on the tray had run out I asked them to take one on the front shelf to replace it and I don't run out, they ignore me and said if you want it's without pickles I thought this was absurd totally bad and the management should guide on these things, the ingredient of the dish is over, replace it and don't do this with the customer.

I had dinner with my family and it came to €56. One of us orders a burger, tasted like it should of been €5 and not €16 and tasted like it was from a frozen paddy, McDonalds is your way to go if your wanting an average burger. I was very small to say how expensive it was, sides of union rings and chips were average to say the least. Another one was the pasta bolognaise, it tasted ok, but had appetiser sized portions, not enough to fill someone up who’s on a diet. And the Alfredo Chicken was ok, average portions size, chicken was good and a decent portion of it. Maybe we ordered the wrong food on the menu and maybe sticking to their traditional Turkish food is the way to go.

Dear Sir/Madam, On Monday, July 27, 2026, I dined at Mado Amsterdam. I consumed chicken soup, Iskender Deluxe, and a homemade ayran there. Approximately an hour after the meal, I became seriously ill. Eventually, a salmonella infection was confirmed by medical examination. Since then, I have been ill for an extended period, have been under the care of my GP, and even had to contact the emergency room due to very low blood pressure (84/46). I am not writing this letter to claim compensation. My sole purpose is to point out to you that something may have gone wrong regarding food safety. I hope that you will investigate this seriously and take measures where necessary, so that other guests, particularly small children, the elderly, and people with vulnerable health, do not have to go through the same thing. I trust that you will take my report seriously.

The food is good, and the place is clean. The only problem is the service. If you're sitting there, there's no problem at all, but when you want to get a takeaway, they don't care where you are in the queue; they prepare your takeaway whenever they feel like it. When you ask about the status of your takeaway, they give excuses that are never acceptable to a customer. I can't say anything about the waiters, but they forget your order and give unnecessary excuses. I guess the priority is the customers inside; your takeaway order doesn't matter to them.

Everything was amazing 🫶🏻! The food was on another level seriously so good. The desserts were absolutely incredible too. And then the Dibek coffee we were obsessed with it ☕️. That was definitely my favorite. I d 100% recommend this place to everyone. Also the service was awesome everyone was super friendly and welcoming. Thanks so much for everything. We got ice cream at Mado today. €3 per scoop is quite pricey; for 4 scoops we already spent €12 (that is the base price of a dish). The ice cream was frozen hard, very firm, and lacked flavor. Also, there were no name tags for the ice creams. The young employee was very friendly, gave us spoons, and helped us patiently. That was the positive point of the visit.

Based on the reviews, we made the mistake of ordering dinner at Mado. The service, hygiene, and food were very poor; we were not satisfied and found it unacceptable for a restaurant like Mado. Furthermore, we paid a very inflated bill.

What a terrible eatery. And the service, in particular, is really bad. I advise everyone against it!

We came all the way from Schiedam specifically to eat dessert at Mado, but unfortunately, we were very disappointed. The lava cake with ice cream was stale, like it had been microwaved. It was dry, hard, and the chocolate wasn't even melting inside. It was the worst lava cake I've ever had. The rice pudding was passable. However, the baklava we ordered took a long time to arrive despite us asking repeatedly. The fact that the desserts on the same table arrived at different times was completely unprofessional. The espresso was also one of the worst coffees I've ever had. The service was very indifferent and inadequate. In total, we paid 38 Euros for 2 desserts, 3 teas, 1 espresso, and 1 soda. This service and quality definitely doesn't justify the price. It was an experience completely unworthy of a brand like Mado. We will not come again and we do not recommend it.

Fantastic experience at Mado in Amsterdam! The food is of high quality and everything we tried was really tasty. The staff were very friendly, welcoming and provided excellent service throughout the visit. What really stands out is their breakfast buffet - a must if you visit Mado! A wide range of fresh and tasty Turkish specialties, freshly baked bread, cheeses, olives, hot dishes and much more. The buffet is both generous and affordable, and provides an authentic Turkish breakfast experience. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Amsterdam who wants to enjoy good food and great service!

Despite being quite far from the city center, we went. We chose it because it's a Turkish restaurant and establishment. The food was average in taste, and I'd say the prices are a bit high for the area. I think the restaurant needs investment. The old, worn, and dirty chairs, bent forks and knives, and dull cutlery need to be replaced. The tea served after the meal was complimentary, but we were charged for a second cup without any prior notification. This was very unpleasant. Also, €2.50 for tea is excessive, considering that in the heart of AMS, a large cup of tea costs €3. Those planning to go should keep this in mind. To get there, take bus number 21 from platform K at AMS Centrale and get off at stop 40-45.

I'm sorry for this negative review, but this was the worst tripe soup I've ever had. There was no meat in it at all. It tasted like dishwater. It's my fault, who would ever eat tripe soup at Mado?! Also, I believe they inflate their ratings on Google by buying points. The dessert was good. But it was a bad experience overall. Don't eat Turkish food here. Only the dessert was worth trying.

After breakfast, we stopped here with our family for coffee and cocktails. Despite the lively atmosphere, there was plenty of space, and everything was modern and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Ordering via QR code was easy, and our food and drinks arrived after about 10 minutes. Everything tasted delicious. We were completely satisfied and will gladly come back!

I bought pistachio, carrot slice, and mussel-shaped baklava. The pistachio one was crispy but too sweet. The carrot slice was crispy, but the syrup or oil had a strange taste that I couldn't quite identify. The top of the mussel-shaped baklava was very dry and a bit hard; I think it wasn't fresh. In fact, the pistachios on top were very dry and closer to brown than green.

Unfortunately, our experience was very disappointing. Our reservation could not be found, even though we had received a confirmation via WhatsApp. The explanation given was that the AI ​​reservation module was not working properly. That can happen, but as a restaurant, you remain responsible for a proper welcome and a suitable solution. Especially since they are barely reachable by phone and reservations seem to be handled almost entirely through that AI module. The lady with the tablet looked at us evasively and strangely several times, without clearly explaining what was going on or what solution was being sought. As a result, we did not feel truly welcome as a family, and we stood waiting in uncertainty for over 20 minutes to see if we would even get a table. Eventually, an improvised table was arranged. When I saw that a regular table became available afterwards, I took the opportunity to sit there with my family. The atmosphere was very chaotic, probably partly due to the World Cup match. It was only briefly pleasant when a goal was scored; otherwise, unrest and messiness predominated. People kept walking around looking for seats, there was bickering among themselves, and the staff also seemed to be arguing or having a discussion amongst themselves. Ordering didn't go well either: a drink was forgotten. When paying, I had to point out which receipt was mine myself until I called the waiter over. Several glasses also broke. That can happen, but combined with everything else, it felt even more chaotic. At one point, a man also came into the middle of the restaurant shouting loudly about something unclear. It is very strange that this could just happen like that. On the positive side were the beautiful interior and the marketing/atmosphere of the restaurant. There were certainly friendly people present as well. A manager, in particular, visibly did his best to rectify the situation and provide good service. However, we received no apologies, neither for the reservation that couldn't be found nor for the messy experience when settling the bill. My wife had had a less-than-ideal experience before. I didn't quite believe it at the time, but after this evening, I certainly understand her. Nice ambiance and likely good intentions, but organizationally, this is not yet the level of a restaurant. It felt more like a messy village eatery. Unfortunately, for our family, it is not worth a repeat visit. This feedback is not meant as a dig, but as an honest point for improvement if you want to get better in the restaurant business. The establishment has potential, but the organization and guest experience really need to improve. To be clear: I didn't eat anything in the end, only had a drink. That drink was tasty, though. Good luck, hopefully things will get better.

A lovely restaurant with truly excellent food. The mixed appetizer platter was particularly varied and delicious. The mixed grill was also outstanding – everything was fresh, well-seasoned, and cooked to perfection. The service was exceptional, and the unique service system was fantastic. We came here for the Turkish ice cream, but that was a really, really big disappointment. The ice cream looked very old, had ice crystals in it, and wasn't smooth. A disappointment, unfortunately!

I drank the Coco Paradijs and it was really delicious! Definitely recommended. It's not too rich, nice and refreshing, and perfect for a warm summer day. Plus, the service was top-notch: I was helped in a super sweet way. I will definitely be back!

The soup was served without bread or any side dishes, and we had to repeatedly ask for the missing items. My wife's order for the main course was taken incorrectly. We were offered the option of keeping the incorrect dish free of charge or waiting for the correct order. Since we wanted to receive the food we had ordered, we decided to wait – in the end, it took another 40 minutes for the correct dish to arrive. As a result, we were unable to enjoy our meal together, and the entire restaurant visit became unnecessarily unpleasant. We cannot recommend this restaurant. ⭐☆☆☆☆
