We came across this hidden gem ccidentally as we were 100 meters down the road and were looking on google maps where to eat nearby. Well a hidden gem it was. From the outside, you can easily pass it by but once you enter the restaurant, you come into a cozy Thai atmosphere that you would not expect when standing outside. The service is outstanding and the waiters are very friendly and helpful. The kind of service you expect when you travel to a resort in Thailand. The food is superb. The dishes are presented in a way that you expect to get in a €€€€ restaurant. The food is just delicious. No dishes that we had, had a flavor that overpowered other flavours so the dishes were well-balanced. And the Thai milk Tea was so delicious, I had 2! We will definitely come back when we are in town again, they can count on that

Maenaam impresses with authentic Thai cuisine, which impresses across the board in terms of both taste and quality. The dishes are freshly prepared, beautifully presented, and full of intense flavors – a true taste experience! The value for money is also excellent: the portions are generous and filling, and you pay a really fair price for the quality offered. The service was friendly and attentive – overall, okay, if not exceptionally warm. Nevertheless, you feel well looked after as a guest. An all-round successful visit. I would gladly return and recommend Maenaam to anyone who craves authentic Thai cuisine!

Cozy authentic Thai dishes. Not adapted like in many Thai restaurants but spicy and spicy and delicious in taste. Large portions and well priced. Nice service and good service. Big portions and very tasty food. We got one dish with fish and one with duck. The menu was quite extensive and had descriptions both in Dutch and English. The staff was very polite and helpful. I would definitely recommend it.

We know we are eating local food when the staff doesn’t speak English or Dutch. That’s how my experience at Maenaam began and I knew it was going to be wonderful. With the beer that I had had with me months earlier in Thailand, I reconnected with this culture in this cozy corner of Amsterdam. Been for the first time and the food was so incredibly sweet, I had the chicken with basil. The food of the people I was with was also very sweet, but the chef could use less sugar or sweet soy. The atmosphere and service were perfect.

Sí, esto es lo que necesitábamos. Una noche empapada de lluvia en Ámsterdam y nos topamos con este lugar mientras en realidad buscamos otro restaurante! El lugar era cálido (necesario! ) acogedor, olía increíble y el personal no podría haber sido más servicial. La comida era fresca y sabrosa y cocinado para nosotros a nuestros requerimientos (2 vegetarianos, uno con alergias). Fuimos bien atendidos por el miembro del personal de habla inglesa, un camarero encantador de Suriname. El restaurante pronto se llenó y nadie parecía estar esperando comida en ningún momento. No solemos volver a un restaurante, ya que hay tantos para elegir en una ciudad cosmopolita como Amsterdam, pero todos acordamos que volveríamos a este. Malditamente encantadora.

Above average, inexpensive thai food made quickly, with very friendly, efficient service despite being crowded for a Sunday evening. We had the red curry chicken, papaya salad and chicken satay. All quite fresh, tasty and full of flavor. Good portions, not too large or small.

One of the best Thai restaurants that Amsterdam has and in general that we have been to. The food is great, delicious, you can tell they make it fresh. We had never tried such tasty rolls with zero oil in the fried part. On the other hand, the quantity of the second courses is more than enough and the quality is enormous. The treatment was very good and they were always attentive in case we were missing something. 100% recommended if you like quality food and service. The place is not very big inside, so I recommend booking or ordering takeout because they do that too.

My second time in this restaurant (the first one was 2 years ago), both of the times were perfect, the food is delicious and you can feel that a family runs this business and has love in every part, the cooking and the serving. Felt really in Thailand.

Habíamos estado caminando por y en los museos todo el día y dos de nosotros tiene un despertar de 3 am para nuestro vuelo a casa. Creo que los tomamos un poco por sorpresa siendo tan temprano, pero nos acomodaron cálidamente cuando terminaron de configurar. Una de las razones por las que elegimos comer aquí fue que estaba muy cerca de nuestro hotel y pensamos que un buen pad thai sentaría bien en nuestras barrigas durante la noche y no causar demasiados problemas con viajar al día siguiente. ¡No nos decepcionó! Creo que esto puede haber sido lo mejor que he tenido y no podrías estar más fresco. Nuestro servidor nos dijo que este era un pequeño establecimiento de propiedad y operación familiar, abierto todos los días durante 11 meses al año, y en febrero, se llevan a la abuela de vuelta a Tailandia para vacaciones. Esa abuela, por cierto, estaba sentada a la vista haciendo hermosas flores decorativas con cebollas muertas y empuñando su cuchillo de una manera que estoy seguro que me costaría un dedo! La comida era simple, pero excepcional y justo lo que necesitábamos para terminar nuestras vacaciones de 2 semanas antes de volver a casa.

Wir haben dieses wundervolle Restaurant auf Tripadvisor gefunden und besuchen es mit jedem Gast, welchen wir hier in Amsterdam empfangen dürfen. Optisch ist das Restaurant wahrscheinlich nicht das ästethische, aber es passt zu der authentischen Thai-Familie. Das Essen ist der Hammer - vorallem das Massam Curry oder das Pad Thai könnte ich täglich essen. Wir kommen wieder! <3

Arrived toward end of service, they welcomed us in with NO hesitation and both the shrimp thai noodles and beef with vegetables, garlic and white pepper were simply exquisite! Really good food! Unfortunately, quality of service is really bad. I went a lot of time to this restaurant, but it is always the same they take you reservation but never keep a table for you. They do not offer you any solution even when other bigger tables are available. You should not take reservations if you do not need them or are not able to manage them! Then they pressure you to leave from the minute you are done with your food. So even if food is good and I tried to give them several second chances, I think it does not worth it... Very unfortunate.

We came here after taking a reservation. While the restaurant was busy, and we were understanding about waiting for our food for the longest time, one server in particular was very nice to others but not nice to us (not sure if it had to do with the colour of our skin). People who were seated much after us were getting their food before us. Not sure if we would recommend this place to anyone who wants to be treated nicely.

I‘m not exaggerating at all when I say that this restaurant is an experience everyone needs to have when visiting Amsterdam. The food was top notch even though it was served with not too long of a wait time, the ambience was calming and the price was cheap especially for the quality of food you got. It was very apparent that the food was made with love by the chef.

This is a racist restaurant that doesn't even deserve a 1 star rating. +The waiter walked around and kicked the cutlery that dropped to the floor and put it back on the table as if it were new. There were a lot of good reviews from Koreans, so I went there while traveling alone. I was the first to order, but the people who came 30 minutes later than me were given their food first (not just those people, but several other teams as well), even though they were obviously sitting across from me. So, when I asked if I had ordered first, they made a ridiculous excuse that it was because theirs was a starter, and they only waited for 2 minutes. But then they started making it, and it came out after 15 minutes. The waiter kept laughing and saying, "Evil thing is good?" as if teasing me, and wondered if I had any conscience. I skipped it because they told me to pick a tip. As soon as I came to the Netherlands, all my love for this city disappeared. I'm really surprised that they discriminate against Asians even though they are Asians themselves. I've been to Europe and the U.S., but this is the first time I've experienced something so serious. It is a racist restaurant run by Asians who show that they are not educated. Not recommended if you are Asian. The food tastes too sweet and not that good. Hygiene is also bad. Just don't go.

Me and my friend went for a dinner, a waiter was not so welcoming towards us . He thought we are tourist but we been living here since 11 years. He tried us charging extra money saying government tax but the food was already tax inclusive. When my friend ask about extra money he made an excuse saying card machine is not working. My only message to the new tourist is be aware of scam please look carefully before you pay.

We went to this place because my friend and I met earlier this year in Thailand. For the two of us, we escaped for a weekend trip from Germany to Amsterdam. Did a little research and found this place. We both were very happy with the food and the authentic taste. Only little bummer - we ordered the bill and both needed a quick visit at the bathroom before leaving. While we still had a little sip of beer in our bottles the young waiter put already the menus on the table for the next customers. When I came back from the bathroom he took my bottle even before I could finish it. After an 8€ tip this was very rude. But guys in case this place is offering a take away - food is awesome. I have lived in Thailand before and the taste is 100% like in Thailand.
