Food, atmosphere, and service were in order. One point of attention regarding the interior: cleaning the fans!

Food was delicious, service was Ok. The place is not that big and very busy whereas people sits really close to each other (and it’s quite noisy) but it does not ruin the fun.

A very authentic Thai restaurant. The food is excellent, and the atmosphere is typical and pleasant. The service varied considerably between our two visits, ranging from slightly disorganized and efficient to very warm and friendly. We'll definitely be back!

Normally, I always come here for takeout. I do so with great pleasure; the service is always quick and the food is super tasty. Today, I ate on the terrace for the first time. We had to wait 1.5 hours for 4 mini spring rolls and 2 rice dishes. When we asked after 60 minutes how much longer it would take, we were told that they were about to start cooking and that we had to wait another 10 minutes. The owner's son came to apologize for the long wait and indicated that the drinks would be on the house. However, when settling the bill, 4 of the 6 drinks were still on the bill, and apparently, we only received 2 drinks on the house. They acted as if they were under the impression that we had only had 2 drinks. I recommend checking the bill first before promising customers anything. Too bad, but enjoy! ;)

The food here is tasty, but we just waited 1.5 hours for our meal. “Drinks” were on the house, but eventually two drinks were deducted. We then asked if this was correct. The waiter said that it was correct and that this had been checked and confirmed. I find it a shame that they lied right to our faces. So be careful here and leave after half an hour, otherwise you will starve. It is a Thai takeaway for a reason!

Excellent food! However, something could be done about the interior. We had a view of an unenclosed and messy workspace, a sort of broom closet, near the entrance. Not pretty and not good advertising for the restaurant!

Maenaam Thai was a great, purely by chance, find for dinner as we walked around Amsterdam. The food was excellent and the service warm and friendly. It was very busy on this Monday night, but this just added to the atmosphere. We were very happy with our experience and would happily return.

Best Thai food in Amsterdam and always friendly staff! I come here often to eat a good red or green curry with coconut milk or fish with garlic.

The food here is outstanding! I was headed to another restaurant when I stumbled across this Amsterdam gem. The staff is also great and very welcoming. They also have the sexiest waiter in the Netherlands!

Intimate atmosphere with friendly service. The Vegetable Red Curry (€15.5) was delectable (also featured in the photos are spring rolls for €7) - must visit in the future!

The food was wonderful, the price was fair, and the service was impeccable. Sami (I'm not sure if I spelled it correctly) served us with great attention and kindness, making the experience even better. He even tried his hand at Portuguese a few times, haha.

Amazing little place. We got the pad see ew and pad Thai and loved both of our dishes. Heads up, if you're sensitive to spice like me, a 1 spice rating is still quite spicy! Luckily for me, the staff was very understanding and replaced my meal at a zero spice level. My friend got a spice level 5 and loved it. Would definitely recommend, for the food, the service, and the atmosphere!

I visited Maenaam Thai Restaurant in Amsterdam with my sister, and it turned into one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had. Pad Thai is my absolute favorite dish, but I couldn’t find it on the menu. When I asked, the waiter kindly told me they would prepare it just for me. That already made me feel so welcome. I also love very spicy food. The chef noticed that the dish wasn’t quite spicy enough for my taste, so she personally came to our table with her homemade chili seasoning. It was incredible! Before we left, I asked her for the recipe, and instead she surprised me by giving me a small container of her homemade chili spice to take home. I still use it on special occasions because it’s that special. It was also my sister’s very first time trying Thai food, and she absolutely loved it! Amazing food, wonderful staff, and genuine hospitality that you rarely experience these days. Thank you for making our visit so memorable. We will definitely be back

We loved our dinner in this thai restaurant ! It was very crowded so we should have made a reservation to eat inside but outside was still very good. We absolutely loved the food it was well spiced and the beef was very tender. We totally recommend it, for the taste and the price

Amazing food but shocking delivery service. Delivery ordered through their site which states delivery hours between 16:00-22:00. Ordered at 16:13 hours with delivery time ASAP selected showing 17:00 as next available time. 47 minutes later, at 17:00, I am notified by the website that they have accepted my order and that it will arrive by 18:15. On contacting the restaurant “I set it to 75 minutes as I am busy” - having waited 2 hours and 2 mins in total, this is simply not good enough. It’s a shame that the delivery times are not transparent and on contacting the restaurant, there seems to be no care or interest and simply am shrugged off for raising a concern; and no desire to improve or apologise. A shame. Do not recommend ordering through them. The least they could do is refund the delivery fee, but clearly this is not possible. The first order should be delivered first.

The place isn't very well maintained; it's a bit old. The waiters weren't friendly. They weren't paying attention to the tables. The food was just okay.

What a fantastic experience at this central location in Amsterdam. Everything served was prepared with great care and attention. The presentation is truly beautiful; the flower cut from a carrot on the plate with fried rice was a particularly surprising detail. The flavors were well-balanced, and the atmosphere in the restaurant was very pleasant. We will certainly return here again.

It's a very good restaurant, where we've been multiple times, however, we won't be coming back after the last one. They made us pay a very sketchy commission on top of the tip we were already voluntarily leaving. They blamed the payment system, however: - It's the only place where I've seen this in the Netherlands, so if you're payment system is really more expensive than elsewhere, you need to find a solution, not pass it on to the consumer; - On the pin machine it was marked as VAT, but VAT should be already included in the food price; there's no 3% VAT rate in the Netherlands; if anything, it should have been a processing fee or something similar. So it looks like something they added manually. - We removed 3€ from the tip and they made us pay exactly 100€ (what we wanted to pay originally) on another pin machine. Which, to me, confirms the fact they are adding it manually because removing 3€ and adding the 3% would have been 99.91€ and I'm sure they didn't calculate the exact amount to reach 100€ on the spot. Which means they entered the total manually without any commissions added by the machine. Very bad service, seems made to rip off people.

i've been going to this restaurant about once a week every time i'm in Amsterdam, which is quite often. Sammy is always our waiter and there aren't enough words to describe his attention to his guests. He always offers advice on selections and makes sure you are happy with your dish. By the way i go with groups of 8 or more, and never have we returned a dish, as i said i go once a week. It's a small restaurant so getting big groups is not an easy task, but Sammy always manages to sit us together even moving other small groups around to acomódate or group. Please say thanks to Sammy and the entire crew for their delicious meals and service.

I chose this place because I was walking around, looking for a dinner spot for a while before I smelled food that was this good. I even turned around to go back because I wasn’t able to forget about how nice the vibes were; it was one of the only restaurants in the area that was lively on a Monday night. The only issue was that a dish ended up being served to me that I never ordered; I still have no idea how the waiter thought it was for me. The food was delicious; maybe not the best Thai food in the universe, but above what I expected in Amsterdam. Being celiac, I was just glad they had gluten free options. I ordered the green curry and ended up making a few friends who invited me to join their table. We connected instantly and plan to meet up in the future. I also was lucky enough to chat with the elderly mother of my waiter; an extremely sweet, warm and an engaging lady who talked about her family and life in Thailand before moving to Amsterdam. It took me a while to find a worthwhile dinner spot on my first night in Amsterdam, and I’m so glad I ended up here.

They brought the wrong food, and when we pointed this out, they went back and brought the same thing again two minutes later. Since someone else had ordered the same thing, we noticed immediately. When we mentioned it again at the end, they reacted very poorly; there was no apology, and we were simply ignored after that. What a shame!

This is on the top list of Thai restaurants for me. I got the Paneng Kai And it was so delicious definitely recommend I’m still dreaming about it and you have to get the chilli oil. I also got the Thai iced tea with milk. For me, I wish the tea flavour was a bit stronger but overall, I will be coming back here and I definitely recommend you put this place on your list to try.

Incredible service. We had a very fussy toddler, and the staff were so patient and helpful, going above and beyond to help us get him fed. Food was delicious and good prices.

Such an unassuming little restaurant but wow, incredible. This is one of the best Thai restaurants I’ve ever been too. You almost want to lick your plate it’s that good. Sammy and the rest of the crew are so welcoming and just the nicest people. I’ve eaten here several times now they always remember us and greet us with a hug. Prices are very reasonable too. This is a must try if you are in the area.

Four of us dined at this restaurant twice during our stay in Amsterdam. We loved our meals! We didn't choose anything spicy but there are quite a few spicy dishes (out of almost 90 meal choices on the menu). Very short wait for the food. The space between tables is very tight but when the food is delicious, does that matter? I definitely recommend this restaurant! PS. Don't eat the pretty "rose" that garnishes some plates... see photo, meal #78 on menu, Phad Thai Koeng (pad thai with shrimp).

Small restaurant in the center of Amsterdam, east of the Jordaan. It is not a particular touristic part and the quality of this restaurant shows it. I had a delicious Tom kha kai soup and a rather poor chicken satay (bit overcooked chicken and the sauce tasted like it was Wijko based). As a main I had the Paneng Nua/moe, a very delicious curry. A good value for money. Apart from the satay a very good restaurant. The staff is very friendly and the price is fair.

Right in the heart of Amsterdam, near Central Station, this restaurant serves traditional Thai food with excellent, attentive, and honest service (we were about to order too much, and they corrected us). And the food... incredible! The duck with white pepper was truly extraordinary, and the red curry chicken was exquisite, though without milk—only for the brave! We ordered a Thai milk drink that was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.

The food is simply delicious again, as always!! It is always good and tasty. We always come here from the Achterhoek, because it is really worth the effort. And what lovely people they are. Always genuinely interested. Especially the eldest son, he has stolen our hearts… They don't have dessert on the menu, but should you ever have something to celebrate and would like a dessert, they can make something for you in consultation. Omg this was one of the best restaurants I ate at in Amsterdam. The food was SO flavorful and delicious. I couldn't believe how big the portion was for the price and I would go back in a heartbeat. The closest thing to a complaint I have is that I wish the Thai tea had less ice in it. Otherwise this was perfect

The menu has a huge (too many) number of choices, which probably indicates that nothing is truly freshly prepared or homemade. The pad thai wasn't to my liking and tasted like a store-bought sweet and sour sauce. The green chicken curry wasn't up to par either. The place was very noisy with tables crammed together.

We want to return to this restaurant again and again. Authentic atmosphere, fantastic food, friendly service, and very reasonably priced. Well worth every star!

The tom kha soup and pad prik (chicken with red curry and green beans) were both delicate, delicious, and beautifully presented. If you like your food spicy, ask them to bump up the level — it’s mild. The server was friendly and efficient. The decor is fine, but there was a strong smell of artificial fragrance, like toilet deodorizer, that interfered with our enjoyment of the food. If you are sensitive to such things, I suggest sitting by the door. To the restaurant: please consider changing to unscented products!

We had a great dinner at Maenaam. We started with Tom Kha Kai (15) and Tom Kha Kung (16), which made for a very promising beginning. For mains, the Plaa Muk Shoe Shie (21) was good, but the Massaman Kai (87) was the highlight of the meal. The service was very friendly—I’d highly recommend this spot to all Thai food lovers.

Outstanding service by Sammy and rest of the team. Memorable food (lot of Veg/Vegan options along with typical plethora of choices for Fish/ Meat lovers) with exemplary service makes it a worthwhile place to visit in busy Amsterdam for among the best Thai food you can get in town. We had to hardly wait to get a table but it is recommended to reserve a table considering it is a busy area and popular restaurant. We ordered few shrimp dishes, Veg mushroom coriander soup, Pad Si Yu chicken (which is not in menu but they were very gracious enough to prepare it custom for us), Phad Pak Tofu cashew nut dish. Everything tasted amazing and at the right level of hotness. The best part was the service, Sammy and rest of the team made us feel more than just home. They were extremely kid friendly as well. The neighborhood has plenty of options for food, drinks, and dessert, but the level of service will keep them in front for a long time to come.
