Mama Hong in Rotterdam Centrum

Ordered (and paid for) 4 spring rolls, once we got home it turned out we only received 2.

I'd been curious for a long time, and I finally went—and what a discovery! The spring roll was deliciously moist and generously filled. But the banh mi with shrimp and cilantro? Absolutely next level, truly the best shrimp roll I've ever had. I took some spring rolls home with me; they even cooked perfectly in the frying pan. Big kudos to the chefs at Mama Hong and the super friendly staff!

Just bought two banh mi Hanoi at the foodtruck. Service and employees are excellent, too bad that the food lacked. Avocado is hard (like chewing on a hard carrot), bread dry as hell (now I get why there were so many pigeons) toppings 30% and bread 70%. I'd like to revisit and have a better meal! Can't recommend atm.

I thought I would be able to eat Vietnamese sandwiches when I happened to see this sandwich cart in the center of Rottedam. The owner is Vietnamese, the staff are Vietnamese students studying in the Netherlands. At first glance at the menu, I was delighted to see many types of sandwiches from different regions: Hanoi sandwiches, Saigon sandwiches, Nha Trang sandwiches, Vinh Long sandwiches, Hue sandwiches... But I was quickly disappointed because none of the sandwiches were truly VIETNAMESE BREAD! In Vietnam, when talking about "Saigon sandwiches", people will think of sandwiches with pate, cold cuts, and pickles. If it is Binh Dinh sandwiches, there will be a little fatty meat (pork belly), meatballs, boiled chicken/duck eggs, chopped cucumbers, chili sauce (instead of fresh chopped chili)... When going to Vietnamese restaurants abroad, it is easy to encounter a situation where the dish has a very Vietnamese name but has no Vietnamese soul at all. But usually those are restaurants owned by foreigners, “taking advantage” of the Vietnamese name. This restaurant has a Vietnamese owner, Vietnamese staff, but the food has no Vietnamese soul at all.

Worst banh mi I've ever seen. No pate, too much sauce, and huge chunks of vegetables. This has nothing to do with Vietnamese banh mi!

Not authentically Vietnamese. Missing all the flavours that make up a Bahn Mi.... No pate, no daikon, no Maggi sauce. They don't do pork...!! Basically just a sandwich. Cheap but not good.

The one and only, I've been coming here for the spring roll since 1986, but nowadays it has so many more goodies. Always good quality!

Rude service! I wanted to buy a bottle of water and asked for a bowl for my dog, which I was also willing to pay for. The owner arrogantly shouted "NO!" for no reason and refused to listen. Never experienced such a customer unfriendly attitude. I will never come back here again!

I ordered Saigon banh mi. 1. Pros: - harmonious flavor, easy to eat (although Vietnamese food often has a strong, clear flavor), - very reasonable price, good service staff, - atmosphere like eating on the sidewalk in Vietnam. 2. Cons: - chicken banh mi is not popular in Vietnam (more likely pork), and there is not a variety of meat options. - the coriander is not fresh.

Stopped by for a fried (chicken) spring roll. It was freshly fried. Hot and crispy. I very much enjoyed it. Also bought 2 fresh spring rolls (chicken and prawn) to take home, which were also very tasty. I have not figured out which days they are open. At the moment, they are only open a couple of days per week. But, in summer, they will be open every day. Good value for money. Will come back to try their Banh Mi/sandwiches.

The small food truck is always crowded. I tried a basic bahn mi and found it tasted OK, but not very filling. It can be used as a snack to fill your stomach.

The best spring rolls! You can also take them home and bake them further. Even though I have moved to Brussels, I always take something with me at home ;-)

Small truck in downtown Rotterdam with delicious Vietnamese food. Good price and decent portions. As a vegan you have an option for banh mi and it is not traditional as you know it from Vietnam. It comes with a sweet potato and avocado. Still tasty and good as a snack and when you're hungry. The spring rolls are very good and there are free sauces with them. Service nice and polite. Super!!!

I can say I think about this place often now that I moved to Den Haag and I have no clue how to find a quick meal as filling, tasty, and cheap like their Banh Mi 🥲.

Really delicious Vietnamese rolls! Never disappoints and really good value for money. The rolls are wonderfully crispy and well filled, always fresh and tasty. The spring rolls are also recommended, nice and crispy and tasty. Always fast and worth a visit! You really notice the care and attention that goes into each dish. An absolute must for anyone who likes tasty and affordable food!

I often get fresh spring rolls here to take with me for lunch. Unfortunately, once we got home, they had completely fallen apart. Shame!

The taste of the springroll isn't as it used to be years ago. Grap one again last yesterday Saturday - a veggie one. Disappointed that the taste quality is moving backwards...

Sehr leckeres Essen mitten in der Innenstadt von Rotterdam. Die Schlange hat uns aufmerksam gemacht und wir haben es später probiert. So leckeres gefülltes Reispapier hatten wir noch nirgends und es war nicht nur geschmacklich gut, sondern die Optik überzeugte auch. top

Super vriendelijk personeel. Snelle bediening en pinnen, zelf saus kunnen tappen. Vond de kip loempia uit balans, te veel wortel naar mijn smaak, kip ver te zoeken. Loempia speciaal was wel lekker (zie foto).
