I have been coming here for years and, to be honest, I don't know a better restaurant. The quality of the food is always excellent, the service is friendly and hospitable, and you feel welcome here every time. It is a place I keep returning to with great pleasure. So, this is a restaurant where you get a unique taste experience. We had various sushi and côte de boeuf. And for dessert, the chef’s dessert (grand). Unbelievable, but truly everything was delicious!

DON'T EAT HERE, THEY RIP YOU OFF 2 pieces of frozen Peking duck cost 18 euros here Lamb & Weston frozen fries cost 11.50 here For that amount, you hope that good service comes with the frozen food, but no… That guy just looks away when you want to order. After ordering, we had to wait 2 hours for the portions of frozen fries. Too bad for words. Please don't waste your time here and go to a real restaurant.

EDIT IN RESPONSE TO COMMENT: *Those three bucks were indeed taken off the bill. Though only when I brought it up myself while paying. Otherwise, I wish everyone the best, of course!* Tonight (Saturday evening), the four of us sat down together with my girlfriend and parents-in-law. The staff came to the table quickly, so that was nice! After the food order was taken, they were nowhere to be seen. We had a good time, but after an hour we realized that no one had been by. Eventually, we called someone over ourselves who told us that the kitchen was running late (which shouldn't affect drinks, I would think). Anyway, I suggested putting something small on the table instead. "Edamame?" Fine. On the house, I had expected. Unfortunately, after an evening of mediocre food (for that price), it ended up on the bill anyway. When the bill came, I mentioned it again, asking if they could offer some small compensation. And you’ll never guess. The waitress brought the news that, as a BIG EXCEPTION, they had removed the Edamame from the bill. In my opinion, a bit of an arrogant attitude. But otherwise, a good ambiance and a pleasant evening. Definitely the first and last time.

The food itself was delicious and flavorful, but in my opinion, the price-quality ratio isn't quite right. Compared to other premium Japanese restaurants, the prices are very high, while the portions remain on the small side. Furthermore, the service left much to be desired. Because we were one of the last tables of the evening, the staff seemed less than enthusiastic. It felt like they wanted to get home as quickly as possible, which didn't enhance the atmosphere. It's a shame, because the potential is there, but for this price, I simply expect more quality and hospitality.

While I'm still sitting at the table, I'm writing this review (something I normally never do, but unfortunately, I had plenty of time for this one). Ate through Amex Experience: we arrived at 6:25 PM, and it took at least 15 minutes before anyone helped us. The set menu was very limited, and we asked if changes could be made (we didn't like everything). It wasn't until 7:10 PM (more than half an hour later) that I heard that a change to the menu was possible. This was appreciated, but the wait was very long. Now I'm still waiting for the food. I'm also trying to order extra dishes, but we couldn't make eye contact with the staff. For a restaurant in this price range, the service and attention are inadequate. I hope the food is good.

There were four of us and we decided on the 5-course menu. Let me be brief: it was delicious. The service was excellent, friendly, and helpful. It was pricey, of course. But you get what you pay for. We felt it was excellent value for money. The homemade desserts were also exceptional. We'll definitely be back.

All in all, it's a good restaurant. The food is very tasty, but nothing special for the price. The restaurant is very nicely decorated and furnished. The staff is happy to answer questions and have a chat. You can pay by card or cash. However, splitting the bill is very stressful and inconvenient, especially for groups of young people eating out. Unfortunately, we had to pay with one bill.

The food was amazing, truly next level. The music, however, was simply not appropriate for such delicious food, if I may say so myself.

We opted for the 6-course menu for €90. The quality of the food was fine, but the portions were very small. Therefore, we felt the price was completely disproportionate to what we received. For this price, you really should expect more. It's a shame, because the food was otherwise well-prepared, but the sheer size detracted from the whole experience.

Charming restaurant. The staff is very friendly, but not very attentive. The dishes are very small and all-you-can-eat. This makes the prices far too high. Peking duck with only two very small pieces of duck and two pancakes for 19 euros is really overpriced. The sushi is poorly made and practically falls apart when you pick it up. We tried it, but we won't be back.

What a beautiful restaurant! We went for the first time tonight and were given a wonderful welcome by the staff. Since it was our first time, we weren't sure what to expect, but the service was excellent. Every dish was delicious, each a true taste experience. The atmosphere, the music, and the staff were fantastic. Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back!

My partner and I had a wonderful meal here! We went on a Wednesday evening, so the restaurant was quiet. If you had any questions about the food, the staff were happy to explain them, and we didn't have to wait long for our food. But the sushi was delicious! We ordered a lot of different ones, and each one was fantastic! There's a great variety, and there's something for everyone. You can go as pricey as you like. But if you go, I'd recommend treating yourself just once. Our top recommendation is the Wagyu sushi, and if you like lychee, try the Sakura Blossom cocktail!

Hi, can we have two cocktails for €26 to start and a carafe of tap water? No, sorry, we don't have that. We do have bottles of Bru. I can't stand it.

We had a great dinner here. It is an upscale spot with an atmosphere that lives up to its reputation, and the food matches the setting, though it is on the pricier side. The standout for us was, without a doubt, the salmon sushi. Absolutely delicious! Close behind were the seabass and yellowtail, both full of flavor and beautifully prepared. We also really enjoyed the Peking duck and tried a variety of other dishes, including tuna sushi, karaage chicken, and tempura, all of which were solid. Service was attentive and prompt, which added to the overall experience. All in all, we left happy and satisfied. They can definitely improve their wine list though. We ended paying approximately 30pp because of 50% discount with theFork which seemed well worth it!

Best Sushi restaurant we have been to in the Netherlands. We go there often and it is always delicious. Clean and good service. Has now been renovated and is very beautiful. Another delicious meal, highly recommended.

The food was good, but finally after 1.5 hours we got the wagyu sushi. Then it is of course no longer fun, and therefore not worth repeating. I understand that it is freshly made, but waiting that long is REALLY not worth it. There are much better restaurants than this one, so I advise against it. The sushi was otherwise good, especially the lobster.

Haven't been for a long time, but really liked it less than a year or two ago. Quality is certainly still good, but it used to be better. Nevertheless, we had a nice evening. Ideal place if you want to eat Japanese or just sushi, but in style

Tasty sushi, but bad service ruins the experience. Unfortunately, our dinner at Azura was not what we had hoped for. The food itself varied in quality, the sushi was very tasty, but the service was downright bad. We had to wait a very long time without any explanation, and only after we asked several times where our food was, did we get an answer. The food was served in a very strange order, first hot side dishes, followed by cold dishes and sushi. It seemed like there was no coordination in the kitchen or service at all. The communication about this was unclear, and no one bothered to properly inform us about what went wrong. Very unfortunate, the poor service made the whole experience disappointing. We won't be back.

We have been eating at Azura for a birthday for a few years now. Depending on Saturday, the food was not what we are used to. It was actually quite a big disappointment. The sushi fell apart. And the tuna wasn't really fresh either. Too bad. Next birthday we will eat somewhere else

You can certainly have a nice dinner here, perhaps the best Japanese restaurant in Rotterdam. It has a nice appearance and also very friendly service.

Just had their flamed salmon maki and just had to immediately write. A delightful bite, with layers of flavor that just keep coming as you chew! Truly a symphony in your mouth. I already know that I will be coming back here soon!!! Having finished our meal and enjoying our yummy coffee service, our resolve to return here soon to sample even more of the menu has not diminished at all. Not only delicious food, but friendly waitstaff and a comfortable, relaxed but luxurious environment. VERY happy we dropped in today!

The varied 6-course dinner is definitely recommended (sashimi, lamb/beef, squid, sushi, scallop gratin, dessert). Perhaps the best food I've eaten this year. The service was perfect: very friendly and attentive. The store is beautifully decorated and the atmosphere is quiet and pleasant! We will definitely come back!

Impressive only by local standards. Don't bother if you come from places like NYC/San Francisco/LA, London. The food here is mediocre, nothing special, and some dishes are just devoid of flavour. The space itself is beautiful, however. Hence the high prices. Service is well.. this is the Netherlands, don't expect much, i.e. disinterested. The staff doesn't seem to care that you're having a nice time or that the food is satisfactory.

Went to dinner with my girlfriend last Saturday. We haven't seen each other for a long time so we have quite a bit to catch up on. How wonderful to be able to do that at Azura while enjoying delicious food... However, we are completely deprived of illusions... Extremely ignorant staff... repeatedly stands at your table asking 'if you know yet. Very disturbing! After asking 3 times every 5 minutes, we indicated that we would let you know when we were ready. At one point the owner came to us to ask whether we were still busy and whether we wanted to order dessert. There were 2 couples waiting at the bar and she needed our table... Overwhelmed by this indecent and unprofessional attitude, we indicated that we did not want to order dessert yet and wanted to order more sushi... but the appetite disappears immediately after such an inhospitable experience. remark. Ordered a coffee and a tea and decided to stick with it here. Coffee and tea are served in a double-walled glass... Impossible to tip it back... The owner comes to the table again... I indicate that we are going to pay and that we do not feel wanted here. I pay 188,- and I am not asked if we liked it, if we liked it... and no one says hello. Afterwards we went to Hotel New York to have a coffee at the bar. However, it was busy there, so we went to the foot halls. On the way to the football halls, the table was still standing with our coffee and tea on the table.... And no one had taken a seat at the table in the meantime... 1 tip... take your money elsewhere (because you definitely have to pay a lot here)... Somewhere where people know what hospitality is... Azura..Never again!

Wir waren zum Abendessen dort. Das Sushi war überdurchschnittlich gut! Sehr lecker und sehr fein! Auch die anderen Gerichte waren sehr lecker. Das Personal super freundlich und aufmerksam. Teurer als der Durchschnitt aber auch besser als der Durchschnitt!

Not express with the food especially coming from Los Angeles. The tempura was very ok . The teriyaki chicken tasted old chicken with black pepper sauce , suppose to be sweet. The fried noodles just taste like soy sauce . We couldn’t eat the food. I think the only thing that was ok was the white rice for $8.00.

Good food in a beautiful experience

For my birthday I was looking for a nice fusion restaurant. After some searching I ended up at Azura. What we immediately noticed is that Azura is a small business but not exactly cozy in terms of design or warm in atmosphere (perhaps that is the intention of Japanese minimalism?). Doesn't matter, in the end it's all about the tasty food. We opted for a 4-course menu put together by the chef. Food was beautifully prepared and very refined in taste. Considering how tasty everything was, we definitely wanted more, but the portions were very disappointing. You walk away with a hefty bill, half-empty stomach. Not worth repeating for us.

Voor mijn verjaardag zocht ik een leuke fusion restaurant. Na wat zoeken kwam ik bij Azura terecht. Wat ons meteen opviel is dat Azura een kleine zaak is maar niet direct knus qua inrichting of warm van sfeer (misschien is dat de bedoeling van het Japanse minimalisme?). Maakt niet uit, uiteindelijk draait het ook om het lekkere eten. Wij kozen voor een 4-gangenmenu dat door de chef was samengesteld. Eten was prachtig opgemaakt en zeer verfijnd van smaak. Gezien hoe lekker alles was, wilden we zeker meer, maar de porties vielen erg tegen. Je loopt weg met een flinke rekening, halflege maag. Voor ons niet vatbaar voor herhaling.

This is sushi next level! Relaxed place with nice attentive service. We found the dessert menu a bit disappointing. Tip: a cocktail menu with 5 or 6 signature cocktails.

We first visited in 2015 and the quality remains outstanding, with exceptional food, wine, and service. It's Asian fine dining at its finest, truly embodying the 'less is more' philosophy. The wine list may be concise, but it's remarkable, and the extensive sushi menu is nothing short of exquisite.

For the amount you spend, it's not worth it. We had a 5-course menu, but that consisted of 5 small snacks. And no dessert or anything like that. A scoop of ice cream costs €8. All in all a disappointing evening. After the 5 courses, order various sushi. The sushi is tasty, but for that money you expect an experience. Unfortunately it wasn't. Once but never again. We were still hungry after the 5 courses, so we ordered some loose sushi. The waitress had passed the wrong message on to the kitchen. When we noticed that and said well, we will certainly still get the right one, but for free. It was a big no and no discussion possible. Ridiculous because she herself indicated that she had passed on the wrong message. I expected a little service from the business.

Mediocre experience at a high price. This is not what I expected when I made my reservation and paid €40 in advance. There was a slight panic upon entering; there was no table available. We could not take a seat at a bar and had to stand at the entrance for about 10 minutes... After this we were led upstairs where a table was quickly brought from the kitchen and quickly followed by two chairs by the chef himself?! After 5 minutes we were able to order drinks, but it took another fifteen minutes before we received the menu. I trusted the pride of the restaurant so I opted for the chef's 5 course menu. It took almost half an hour before the first course was served. This one, like the second one, was okay, the next two were mediocre and the last one was reasonable. The wine (Pinot Noir) by the glass was fine, that may be said. All in all a mediocre experience and this is not good and does not fit a bill of € 208 for two people. The business admitted too many guests and that resulted in poor service because there were too few staff present. The kitchen staff was also under pressure, which had an impact on the quality of the food. I hope they get their affairs in order quickly because this doesn't make anyone happy.

to be honest i was expecting much more, the service was quite poor, food took long to come and we asked the waiter to bring the warmer food later but he did this vice versa. the food is quite good, i especially recommend ordering the oyster shot and the hotate uramaki, the caviar is very on point! the wagyu gyozas are tasty too but expected more and finally the sake jalapeño was delicious. we didn’t bother ordering deserts due to the lack of time they were taking to bring our food but didn’t look bad at all from what we saw at other tables.

The Sushi at Azura was tasty, it was freshly made so you get good quality food. When we arrived it was quite busy considering the number of staff members working there at the time, which meant that we as customers often had to wait a long time for our food. It may be that the restaurant wanted to cut back due to the blows it suffered from corona, which was a real shame to experience. We therefore really missed the personal attention. We also saw that the owner has heart and passion for his business and that is also nice to see. Unfortunately, we found the attitude of his colleagues less...

Azura is gelegen op een schitterende locatie in Rotterdam. De aankleding is gezellig en onze jassen werden netjes aangenomen. We hebben ons laten adviseren over de wijn en de chardonnay (wit) was heerlijk. We hebben meerdere keren besteld en veel verschillende gerechten geproefd (vlees en vis). De gerechten zijn van goede kwaliteit en beter dan in veel Aziatische restaurants. Toch krijgt het eten geen 5 sterren. De smaakbeleving vonden wij wat tegenvallen. Niet de ‘wow’ ervaring die wij verwachten voor de prijs. De Tom Yum Goong soep bijvoorbeeld was heel karig, weinig ingrediënten (zie foto) en had weinig smaak. De Cho Chi Seafood was ook wat flauw. Van de Truffel Scallop had ik ook meer verwacht. Het kan natuurlijk zijn dat we de lekkerste gerechten gemist hebben. De Yaki Tori spiesjes, Nigiri Aburi Beef en Black pepper beef (o.a) waren verrukkelijk Wij zijn gezegend met 2 uitstekende sushi restaurants in de buurt in Berkel en Rodenrijs, vandaar dat we wat verwend zijn. Het is zeker een aanrader om te bezoeken.

Een aantal jaar geleden waren we onder de indruk van de kwaliteit van Azura met verrassend lekkere sushi. Dit keer was de sushi goed, maar de rest niet. Coquilles doordrenkt van de pesto en kaas, het hoodgerecht van zalm en beef teriyaki fantasieloos. De chefs dessert vooral een hoop dessert, zeker 20 euro niet wasrd. Advies: ga bij Azuro alleen voor de sushi.

Was echt een top avond! Hele fijne sfeer, niet al te druk en de muziek was niet overheersend. Echt een ontspannen sfeer, de dames die er werkte waren super vriendelijk en het eten was gewoon top! Hebben er een vaste klant bij 🥰

Geweldig, kan niet anders zeggen….. maar daar betaal je ook voor! Service, klantvriendelijk en geweldig eten… Instagram waardige fotos :)

We hadden enorme zin in goede sushi en dachten dit te vinden in dit restaurant. We kozen voor een 4-gangenmenu. 1e gang was 6 plakjes sashimi, redelijk ok. Toen kwam de sushi. Eerlijk gezegd smaakt de sushi van een shabu beter en spannender. We hadden een sushi met roomkaas, alles was gefrituurd en overal lag een flinke laag saus op. De 3e gang was echt belachelijk. Het was 1 coquille in de schelp met wat kleine champignons en ja, weer lekker veel saus. De laatste gang was een stukje vis en een stukje vlees met 1 klein schaaltje rijst voor 2 personen. De rekening was 160 euro en we zijn met honger en grote teleurstelling vertrokken….

Good japanese restaurants are limited in Europe compare with Asia. I personally like this restaurant, because it serves better quality food. You can ask the serving crew for advice what kind of dishes you prefer. The serving crew are well trained.

Prijs kwaliteit en hoeveelheid zeer teleurstellend . Vijf gangen menu gegeten . 1: sashimi 2: 6 sushi stukjes 3: paar hele dunne kleine warme plakjes ( ik dacht tonijn mijn man dacht vlees ) 4 : 1 coquille schelp 5: stukje vis en paar stukjes vlees met klein beetje rijst erbij. Food was good. Sashimi and Foie grass maki were the best! The teriyaki souce was not the best.. Unfortunately was a missunderstanding by the end about the bill, that they did not want to do it separately but apart of that everything good.

Prijs-kwaliteit van het 5 gangen menu beneden verwachting. De sushi en sashimi was goed de rest niet. De bereiding van de warme gerechten was iets te gaar, de romige saus vd coquille een beetje kant en klaar achtig. Niet heel bijzonder. Prijs ging door het dak. 90-100 euro per persoon. De bovenruimte was sfeerloos, grijs en donker zonder enige decoratie of aankleding. De serveerster pratte zacht en onduidelijk. Zou alleen terug komen om wat rolls en sashimis te eten maar niet meer.

Gewoon goed. We nemen meestal het menu omdat we niet kunnen kiezen. De sint-jakobsschelp is wel een van mijn favorieten.

For years this has been a favourite destination for special events such as birthdays, so last week, as usual, we went here for my birthday. The prices felt like it had increased since the last time, but the food was amazing as always. The sushi’s were all 7-8, but the lobster maki was amazing and is really a must try here. Apart from the lobster maki, we took the crispy ebi maki, red dragon maki and the crunchy spicy tuna maki, which were all alright. As small bites we took the edamame, tuna tataki, the Suzuki jalapeño and the shrimp taco. The tuna tataki was really good and is a must try for me, the rest was good as well, apart from the shrimp taco which disappointed us a bit. We didn’t like how the shrimp was prepared and the fried batter around the shrimp felt not crispy. There was also to much sauce on the taco, so maybe for the next time on the side would be better. Maybe try mango sauce with cilantro instead? As mains we got the seafood mix, the choe chi seafood curry, the seafood mix and the spicy ebi bites. Accompanied with two sides of fried noodles. These sides were especially needed for the seafood mix and the spicy ebi bites. The mains overall were good. The seafood curry was great, the seafood mix itself is not filling so a side dish is recommended with the seafood mix. The spicy ebi bites to be honest we’re a disappointing unfortunately. They were not that warm and the presentation was rather disappointing comparing to the rest of the dishes. The steamed sea bass, on the other hand, was AMAZING and really a must try for fish lovers!! The bass was accompanied with glass noodles and a light soy sauce which was just perfect. As a desert we got the tempura ice cream, which was great as well. Overall, we had some high expectations of the previous times which were not 100% met, but overall still a great place to eat your sushi and Asian food .

中国人开的日料店，起初带着怀疑的心态走进去，最后是心满意足走出来。价格有点小贵，但食物的品质是值得这个价钱的。 鱼很新鲜，品质好，鱼入口都能感受到本味鲜甜，不腥，这说明食材好，新鲜。 黄尾鰤刺身柔软细腻，鱼肉绵软淡甜。生蚝肥嫩鲜甜，一口下去好过瘾。 美式寿司也做得不错，调口咸淡适中，滋味丰富，不用浓油酱赤夺人耳目，细细品尝回味悠长。 鸡肉串的酱汁过甜了，味增汤过浓过咸，照理说需要减一星，但是惊喜盖过了缺点。

I can't fault the sushi. It's the best I have tasted. However, I booked a table in advance for our anniversary but the best table they could give us was in front on the menu cabinet. The service is very slow. They ignored us and we got the menu's ourselves . They said the only drinks we could get was wine but someone on another table had beer! They lit a sparkler at the end!

Resraurant seems small (cozy) and has a modern-chique appearance. Music is very modern as well, but not obtrusive. Staff is excellent and attentive. We had the 6 course meal and it was excellent! Very well done with surprisingly good textures and tastes, making it well worth the cost. If any, my only gripe would be the main dish rice which wasnt bad at all, but quite mundane compared to all the other food. Not cheap, well worth the cost. Excellent place that i will definitely visit again.

Absolutely overpriced small portions

De beste sushi die ik ooit gegeten heb. En genoeg keuze als je net als mij geen vis lust. Heb nog geeneens alle vlees (sushi) gerechten kunnen proberen want dan had ik ontploft. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar. Niet de goedkoopste optie maar wel de beste.

Man, man, wat kun je hier lekker eten! Niet goedkoop, maar het is het waard. Aardige bediening!

By far out the best sushi in town!!!

Direct na de heropening van de horeca hier wezen eten. Ik moet glutenvrij eten en hier werd professioneel en deskundig mee omgegaan. De sojasaus was glutenvrij, evenals de bouillon, miso en teriyaki saus. De tijd tussen de gerechten, met het 4 gangen menu, wisselde wel wat. Dat werd goed gemaakt door het vriendelijke personeel.
