Smells wonderful upon entering. I got two sandwiches during my lunch break. Well-filled and generously sized baguettes. Highly recommended.

It all looks delicious, but it's quite disappointing. I bought two caneles and they were tough, and the sesame baguette was so hard that the crown almost broke off. Too bad.

The staff was really rude today: the girl told me to take out my earphones while ordering because that would be rude. I simply asked my boyfriend via video call what I should buy him, and even when I explained, she kept saying it was rude. Okay, next time I'll just put the video call on full volume; apparently, that's less rude :/ I was just ordering some cakes, calm down.

My favorite bakery in Leiden! Always alhas long queue on Saturdays. I think lots of people are crazy about their almond croissants. Would be nicer to have a more diverse menu for drinks as well. Also, I think they should work on their sandwiches.

What delicious treats! Lemon tartlet 🍋: perfect acidity from the lemon filling and a delicious, buttery aftertaste from the crust. French bread pate de campagne: this is how it should taste! Café Éclair: divine! Delicious, not-too-sweet filling and a lovely thin choux pastry.

The best bakery in France is in… Leiden! Authentic French, lots of choices, and everything delicious. Besides all that delicious bread, they also have wonderful pastries. We're so lucky!

The employee’s behavior was horrible. I didn’t feel welcome at all. No matter how tasty their baked goods are, I wouldn’t recommend this bakery if you value a welcoming atmosphere.

Last weekend I was in Leiden, and I have to say: it's truly one of the nicest cities in the Netherlands, even though I live in Amsterdam. I actually stopped by for a loaf of bread, something tasty for late-night drinks and a dip. There was a lot of choice: from delicious French baguettes to beautiful loaves of bread, and the service was fast and friendly. We ate the bread at home, and it was delicious—super fresh, a crispy crust, and exactly what you miss with supermarket bread. I definitely recommend getting a loaf here. They also had croissants and almond croissants, which looked very good, but since we'd already had a croissant, we skipped it. We'll definitely try it next time.

We ordered a Baguette Épi, an almond croissant, a regular croissant, and a Délice Cacao. The woman at the counter was very friendly, and the decor was lovely. The food is homemade, which you can taste. Everything is very, very good! The baguette has a light sourdough flavor and is very easy to share, which is perfect for sharing with several people. The almond croissant is buttery, sweet, and very rich. The amount of almond cream is just right, so you can taste the almonds in every bite. The croissant is delicious and airy. The Délice Cacao was my personal highlight; it has a wonderfully subtle sweetness; you can taste the baguette on the one hand, but it also has a hint of chocolate cake on the other, especially with the large chocolate pieces. The price is also completely reasonable; we paid around €10 for everything together. I hope to return soon and try more of their delicacies!

A truly wonderful French bakery, which you can tell by the line that sometimes forms. The service is fast, so the line moves quickly, but I prefer to go early on weekdays so there's no long line. I'm a big fan of the bread (they also have delicious sandwiches) and the pain au chocolat. The tartelettes always look delicious, too, but I've always managed to restrain myself and haven't tried them yet. The baguettes are always fresh, delicious, and affordable. Excellent value for money (especially since the quality is excellent).

Overrated! I have been to this bakery a couple of times and had mixed experiences. The quality of the bread is good, but definitely not excellent. The coffee has a low quality.

Wow!!! The best vegetarian breakfast opera laronds !!! So delicate and flakey with the perfect amount of cheese and spinach. A great lite breakfast. #allergygirl could not get hot tea and there wasn’t any milk free option. But I was not disappointed.

Insane chocolate almond croissant

Usually this was the place for us to get wonderful sandwiches, sadly the quality has gotten worse and worse in the recent months and we were hoping it was a temporary thing and we were just getting sandwiches at the wrong time of day or something. Whilst the chicken still had some stuff on it and looked kind of fresh, the brie sandwich was made up of stale bread, wilted rocket and 3 tiniest walnuts with a small splash of honey... I'm all up for not throwing food away but that is not the €6 eu sandwich I expected... very sad that this is happening. All the other stuff is delicious, hopefully this review will reach the manager so they can make great sandwiches again and we can call this our favourite place again.

This afternoon I was almost hit by a Mamie Gourmand van. The vehicle approached at speed a raised road surface on which I was already walking as a pedestrian. Instead of slowing down and giving me priority, the driver accelerated and drove around me to park 5 meters further on the Gangetje (facepalm). This behavior was downright dangerous and unprofessional.

The breads are amazing. The baguettes are very beautiful, sweets,too. I’m sorry the baker was not kind to me, a foreigner. Or he might be shy, I did not know. I couldn’t take any photo.

Here they have a very tasty chicken sandwich (the bread is very crispy and sturdy so your jaws are put to work) and they also have very tasty tartelette aux fruits rouges. The apricot is also tasty, but I miss the cream and there are few apricots in the middle.

Real French bakery in Leiden. Real! With good croissants and pains au chocolat ! Not the baking-soda-margarine-tasting-make-believe stuff that is sold in all other bakeries. Here you will find quiches, macarons, baguette tradition, tartelettes (chocolate, strawberry), éclairs, and sandwiches with brie and pâté 😍 Also, if you want to be swept off your feet, try the croissant aux amandes... with a little café au lait...perfect breakfast! PS Yes I've tested everything. And yes, I'm French.

Real French bakery with plenty of choice of savory and sweet delicacies. Delicious snacks and sandwiches for lunch. Pain aux fruit rouges is delicious! Decent size, delicious! I was quite disappointed with the almond croissant. I tasted/discovered little or no almond filling, which made it a dry, hard baked croissant with more looks than (taste) experience. Same experience twice, so I won't buy it here anymore. I will definitely come back to try the other savory and sweet treats.

Been twice, once for a torsade au fromage and once for a pain au chocolat aux amandes. Both times really great and super tasty! I will definitely get the pain au chocolates aux amandes more often. I'm normally more on the “stingy side” when it comes to spending money, but the products from this bakery are definitely worth the price. Furthermore, a very relaxed atmosphere. Super!

I had a small lemon meringue pie for EUR 5. Compared to other pastry shops, it was a higher price. The meringue didn't taste like eggs, which was quite good. The rest just tasted normal. The bakery is quite small and busy, so if you are in a wheelchair you would have a lot of difficulty getting inside. There was a queue inside, but I got my turn quickly. Not that many sweet options in my opinion. But many bread types/types.

Heard so many good things about it and so I ventured into 'the queue' once... but unfortunately that resulted in the nastiest cheese twister ever eaten (€2.55). Apparently it contained spicy mustard, which was so overpowering that it really didn't taste like cheese anymore. I also had my friend taste it and he didn't like it at all. Such a shame!

Overrated. I tried 4 items. The only item that was really good was the beignet de fruits rouges (jelly donut). The almond croissant was not that good. Very sweet and I detected no almond flavor in the paste.

A fantastic breakfast. On our last day in Leiden 😭. Pain aux rouge fruit was the best pastry I have ever had. The cheese twist was amazing. The coffee is hot and fresh. Yes, you will find more aesthetic places to have breakfast, than on the pavement next to parked cars, but it won't taste as good.

We had bad time to eat there, the food wasnt fresh , my wife had virus + my kid had dairies, Very not clean place, we will never be back again The manger also was very not nice person, he talk with bad words in front of kids, Not recommended at all!!!

If you have lived and worked in France you automatically become a bit of a whiner when it comes to food. For years I had hoped that a real French bakery would come near me and sure enough! So if you really want to eat authentic French bread or other delicacies, go to this place. The owner is French and so are the bakers. You can see that this tent is a success from the waiting line, so be there early.

I love "Croissant aux Amandes" here!! I could have had one on the day just before my departure ... so I have nothing left to do in the Netherlands. I recommend it for anyone who will visit Leiden except for Sunday (as the bakery is closed every Sunday).

had a funny experience here a few days ago...it was around 4pm and i was looking for some olive bread, knowing that i was, very likely, too late. sure enough this place was sold out. on the way out i notice 2 loaves in one of the display cases near the door, of what was listed as 'herb bread'...there was one large and one small...both the same price. i asked for one and the woman there gave me the smaller one. i didn't say anything, but...didn't think it was good business practice...the bread, itself, turned out to be nothing special... i don't think i'll be going by there again...

Fantastic French bakery in Leiden. The tastiest and crispiest tradition. Just brave the line. The aperitif sandwiches with bacon are also super delicious.

I am half French and half Italian, and I have to share that this Boulangerie is on a parr with the best bakeries in Paris, France! The croissants, macarons and various bread options are phenomenal. I purchased my items whilst visiting Leiden for the day and attending the Saturday market in the city center. Because of Mamie Gourmande, I will be returning to Leiden.

Delicious French delicacies. The almond croissants are superb. Sometimes there is a line, but the staff is super prepared for this and it moves quickly!

Bread wasn't as fresh as I expected, the patè and pickles were good except the sandwich gets pretty one dimensional if you keep eating the whole thing, the chicken sandwich was a bit better, good prices though, 12 euro for 2 sandwiches and a canale

Great place for sweet french bread! Would recommend the amandel croissants and pain au chocolat. The savoury ones however, are not in the same level as the sweet bread. Definitely worth visiting more than once

Just bought a Butterfly for Euro 2.95! NOT to eat, they should be crispy, these have certainly been there for a few days, they are soft and not tasty. Shame !!!

Delicious bread and pastries! I recommend the citron meringue tartelette. The workers will warm up your sandwich or pastry if you request it. It's definitely recommended for the goat's cheese pastry I had- but it was still delicious without being warmed up :)

Croissant and Flan-o-logically a Lourdes for foodies. Oh yes, they also have the best baguette ('tradition') of which you better buy two because you will eat the first on the way home. I forgot the almond croissants, worth a detour! Parisians seem to come to Leiden for a weekend especially for this, fair nonsense😉 (but I wouldn't be surprised if it were a fact and not my wild fantasy)

I always get a tuna sandwich here. Delicious! The tartelet with red fruit is also recommended! I always go for the Tuna Sandwich and I also recommend to order their ''Tartelette aux Fruits Rouges'' !!

Consistently great, I'm a sandwich (chicken) almond croissant regular. Also a fan of the other food, but that's just a lovely lunch for me. Normal croissants, cheese and ham croissant, quiches, canele, chocolate bread, and pistachio madeleine are also often on my list.

Great bakery renowned for their Almond croissants! I can tell you that the buzz around these croissants is definitely justified as they are the best I have ever had. We also tried some beignets and their panini which were also very good. Will definitely come back to this bakery!

WARNING! EXTREMELY ADDICTIVE SUBSTANCES!! I don't usually go full five stars, but such a Boulangeri in Leiden is a dream come true! Everything is French-perfect! Absolutely Perfect! They even sell T-65 flour if you know what I mean.. See you soon.. too soon ;-)

Definitely one of the best bakeries in Leiden. Beautiful fresh french bread and pastries. Lovely people and lovely atmosphere. I must say though, the recipe change of the croissant saddened me. It used to be so full of flavour and such a rich treat.

Beste Franse bakkerij in Leiden! Wilde een foto delen maar heb alles veelste snel opgegeten (oeps). Goede croissants en pain au chocolat, fantastische taartjes en goede eclairs. Zelf ben ik niet de grootste fan van eclairs, maar zelfs deze vond ik lekker. Zeker aan te bevelen!

Elke zaterdag, de tocht van Den Haag naar Leiden, juist voor Mamie Gourmande. Met een straatlengte het lekkerste brood, de boules, de baguettes en de verdere zoete en hartige heerlijkheden. Met Pasen nog veel meer speciaals. Kortom, geweldig! "Addictive"

Op aanraden van diverse mensen onlangs de amandelcroissants geprobeerd. Om maar eens een Franse uitdrukking te gebruiken... excellent! Behoorlijke prijzen, maar daar krijg je wel excellente (😀) kwaliteit voor. Zal binnenkort in de rij aansluiten om het brood te proeven.
