Great service and amazing food and wine. We have been to many of the top restaurants in Haarlem and the food at Mano is our favorite. The wine pairing is definitely worth it. Great insights provided into why the wine was paired with the dish. If the scallops dish is on the menu, it is a must have! Our compliments to the Mano team.

Exceptional food and service! Incredible flavors with Asian influences, and little pieces of art of your plate! We are super impressed 😍. The only thing that could have been better was the Wagyu; it was chewy and lacked flavor. For 82 euro we expected more. Everything else was flawless! Star worthy!

Exceptionally good! We eat at this level often, but this was a big surprise. The dishes are super balanced and surprising (not the standard fare). The food and wine pairings are daring but incredibly well chosen! And then there's the service, which is more than good; not that stiff stuff, but genuinely friendly without sacrificing quality. It is not cheap, but worth every penny! When we are back in Haarlem, we will definitely be back.

We had a spectacular meal at MANO- our favorite meal of our weeklong trip to the Netherlands! The flavors of each dish were incredibly vibrant and well-balanced. The techniques used were perfect but always in the service of the dish, never just for show. Each course felt fresh and unique. The servers and chefs were so knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. We especially appreciated the non-alcoholic drink pairings with each course and were blown away by how perfectly they enhanced the dish. I would definitely return to MANO and cannot recommend it highly enough!

We had a wonderful meal at Restaurant Mano. We chose the 6-course menu and opted for an upgrade to the Wagyu A4 for the main course. The evening started strong with beautiful, refined amuse-bouches. The cone, in particular, stood out: deliciously fresh and perfectly balanced. We also enjoyed a delicious aperitif and oysters; these were well-stocked and tasted very good. The subsequent dishes were also sleekly presented and well-seasoned. For the Wagyu main course, I had expected a bit more in terms of portion size, especially considering the extra cost of €47. However, the taste was excellent, so that made up for a lot. The dessert was a real surprise for me. Often, desserts are a bit disappointing after such an elaborate dinner, but absolutely not here. Perhaps not the most spectacular to look at, but wonderfully fresh and light, exactly what you want at the end of the evening. We had a very pleasant evening and were truly pampered. However, the price-quality ratio remains something to consider (the quality was certainly not the issue!), as dining out in Haarlem is pricey. For comparison: at Ratatouille Food & Wine (1 Michelin star) we spent a similar amount, even though we had one extra course there. Nevertheless, definitely recommended for a special evening.

We dined at Mano two weeks ago. The atmosphere was good, and we immediately felt very comfortable and welcome. The hostess has a Japanese background, and this is reflected in the dishes (alongside influences from Indonesia and China). Dishes like hamachi (perhaps the highlight of the evening), sweetbreads, and beef Wellington were exquisite. The brioche bread is also top-quality. Highly recommended.

Restaurant Mano – Refinement with strong ambitions Last night we enjoyed an excellent 5-course menu at Restaurant Mano in Haarlem. With only 8 tables, there is an intimate, exclusive atmosphere. The service (by Rachel) was flawless all evening and undoubtedly already of Michelin level: attentive, knowledgeable, and warm. Culinary spectacle The flavors are bold and the presentation is a feast for the eyes. Some highlights: The Oxtail (Gnocchi): An absolute taste sensation that made a deep impression. Beef Wellington: Classic craftsmanship, perfectly cooked. Wine selection: Although we did not choose the pairing, the sommelier recommended two surprising and delicious wines (such as the Bordeaux and Rippa Dorii) that complemented the meal seamlessly. Dotting the 'i's for that star To fully match the true Michelin-star feeling, we noticed two small areas for improvement: Harmony in the menu: The individual dishes are very strong, but the cohesion (such as the powerful oxtail versus other courses) could be brought together a little more for a smooth 'journey'. Portioning: The amuse-bouches were delicious, but so generous that they almost overpowered the balance of a 5-course menu. For the ultimate star level, the portioning could be slightly more refined and measured. Detail: The Turkish delight with the dessert was, to my taste, a bit on the sour side compared to the other sweets. Conclusion Including the amuse-bouches and the rich selection with the coffee, you are effectively enjoying seven courses here. The passion radiates from every angle. Mano is an absolute asset to the city, and we will certainly be dining here more often. Just fine-tune the final details regarding the harmony, and as far as we are concerned, that star is just a matter of time.

I honestly don’t understand how this place doesn't have a Michelin star yet. I never usually write reviews, but I just have to for this one. I’ve been coming here for almost 5 years now, and they blow me away every single time!! The Asian-inspired flavors are incredible, the staff is so kind, and I love that the chefs actually come out to present the food. It’s always such a personal experience. Easily the best restaurant I’ve been to, and I’ve tried a lot of spots all over the world!

This was my second time dining at MANO, and it was truly fantastic once again. From the moment you walk in, you feel everything is perfect. The team is young, energetic, and not at all stuffy, yet incredibly professional and clearly passionate about what they do. You're completely pampered, and everything revolves around creating a special evening. The dishes are refined, creative, and incredibly flavorful. The sommelier deserves a special mention: no standard choices or pompous nonsense, but surprising wines with a compelling story that perfectly complement the menu. You're truly immersed in the experience. One of my table companions switched to the non-alcoholic menu halfway through and was also very enthusiastic about it—equally thoughtful and exciting. MANO is, without a doubt, my favorite fine dining restaurant in the area. I'll definitely be back often. Highly recommended!

It felt like the restaurant had opened especially for us. To our surprise, it was also the first evening of the new menu. The food was fantastic: every dish was refined, surprising, and perfectly paired with matching wines. The chefs spoke passionately about their dishes, and the sommelier, with her knowledge and hospitality, provided the perfect accompaniment to the evening. We were thoroughly spoiled from start to finish. Everything was perfect: the food, the wines, the atmosphere, and the genuine hospitality. Highly recommended for anyone who appreciates culinary refinement and personal attention.

Tthe best service I’ve had in a while. Tekura called me ahead of my reservation to confirm everything and check if I had any allergies or special requests which really sets the tone. I got seated at a table overlooking the Spaarne river, that made the whole experience even better. I’d definitely suggest asking for that spot if it’s available. A lot of thought was put into how the dishes are plated. It doesn’t feel over-the-top. Food was excellent across the board (fresh oysters, fish, and meat) but what really stood out was the hospitality. Had a good chat with Tekura during the meal. We swapped a couple of short stories and she gave a thoughtful take when I asked about their Michelin star goals. If that’s something they’re aiming for, I honestly hope they get it.

Instead of a wine pairing, try the alternative beverage accompaniments based on tea, botanicals etc for a different and unique experience. We love good food, beautifully set tables, beautiful cutlery, and genuine, sincere service, but not the stuffy attitude you often get in these kinds of restaurants. Yesterday we had a wonderful meal here, just cycling to this lovely spot in Haarlem on the Spaarne River. A small, charming restaurant with a cozy atmosphere. Incredibly friendly service who even crack a joke when they see it's okay. Really, really great! So much so that I didn't take any pictures, unfortunately. But we'll definitely be back for another meal soon. Everything was delicious, so I don't have any recommendations ;-)

Beautiful ambiance and extraordinary staff. The staff is so skillful in getting diners to up their charges. My waitress said "the portion of fish is small, order more". So thoughtful. If you are hungry do go somewhere else. If you are of low weight, perfect for you. Bring a magnifying glass to see your dinner.

Culinaire verwennerij op topniveau bij Mano in Haarlem Wat een avond! We genoten van een 7-gangen diner bij Mano in Haarlem en het was simpelweg fenomenaal. Waar je normaal bij een uitgebreid menu altijd wel een gang hebt die “gewoon prima” is, was hier elke gang raak. Van begin tot eind was het een aaneenschakeling van smaakexplosies. De avond begon al goed met een aantal verrassende amuses die meteen de toon zetten: creatief, verfijnd en bovenal ontzettend lekker. Daarna volgde een parade van gerechten die stuk voor stuk ware kunstwerkjes waren – zowel op het bord als qua smaak. De smaakcombinaties waren perfect in balans en wisten bij elke gang te verrassen. Ook de bediening verdient een dikke pluim. Attent, gastvrij en écht betrokken – iets wat je tegenwoordig niet meer overal tegenkomt. Ze straalden plezier en vakmanschap uit, wat de hele ervaring naar een nóg hoger niveau tilde. Eerlijk gezegd heb ik bij restaurants met een Michelinster minder indrukwekkend gegeten dan hier. Mano laat zien dat passie, creativiteit en oog voor detail zorgen voor een avond om niet te vergeten. Kortom: een absolute aanrader voor iedereen die houdt van gastronomisch genieten in een relaxte, warme sfeer. Wij komen zeker terug!

Wij hebben een 5 gangen diner gehad de amuses waren verrukkelijk en alle gerechten een klein feestje net zo als het wijn arrangement . De bediening was ervaren en erg vriendelijk kortom wij komen hier zeker nog een keer terug.

Wat een super geweldig diner! Het was weer een heerlijke, mooie, gezellige avond die begon met echt prachtige en heel erg smakelijke amuses, gevolgd door een alle zintuigen strelend heerlijk 5 gangen diner. De bubbels, de wijn, de koffie met friandises de aardige bediening maken deze avond helemaal af. Echt genoten en ons voorgenomen om snel weer terug te gaan.

This is an excellent restaurant if you want a taste of fine dining in Haarlem. There is a tasting menu on offer, but we opted for à la carte and the portion sizes are adjusted accordingly. Our food was very good both in quality and presentation, and the staff very knowledgable, friendly and professional. Wine pairings are available but there is no pressure to do this and wines are available by the glass too. A lovely evening!

Great restaurant! Amazing combination between service, atmosphere and food. The service is very professional, the waiters appear and disappear exactly when needed. There are only seven tables, so every guest receives the necessary attention. The food is simply a delightful mixture of flavours, textures and techniques. A definite recommendation! And lastly, I don’t really understand why this restaurant doesn’t have a Michelin star, these guys are more than worthy of it.

I recently visited Mano (March 26) and was really impressed with everything. The service and food were both A+. Coming from the US, this meal would have cost 3x more for a tasting menu of this quality. I wish I could remember our sommelier's name, but she was absolutely fantastic. Ik schrijf lang niet over alle restaurants/hotels waar ik kom maar Mano is een pareltje in Haarlem. Je komt vrijwel direct binnen in een kleine diner zaal, sfeervol ingericht met een zeer kundige bediening. Heerlijke gerechten met mooie wijnen en champagne. Kom zeker snel weer terug.

Bij Mano werd onze avond een onvergetelijke ervaring, waarin gastronomie en kunst samensmolten. Elk gerecht was een visueel en smaakvol meesterwerk, perfect in balans en vol verrassende nuances. Elke hap voelde als een zorgvuldig gecomponeerde culinaire symfonie. Toen ter plekke een zwangerschap werd aangekondigd, speelde het team daar moeiteloos op in met aanpassingen in het menu en een elegant non-alcoholisch wijnarrangement. De jonge, getalenteerde sommelier tilde de ervaring naar een hoger niveau. Met een feilloos gevoel voor smaak en harmonie selecteerde ze wijnen die niet alleen pasten, maar de gerechten nog verder verfijnden. Haar enthousiasme en kennis maakten de pairing tot een beleving op zich. Mano is niet zomaar een restaurant, maar een plek waar smaak, gastvrijheid en finesse samenkomen. Een avond waarin elk detail klopt en waar we ongetwijfeld nog vaak zullen terugkeren. Merci!

A culinary experience at Mano in Haarlem Last week we enjoyed a fantastic dinner at Mano, a restaurant that more than lives up to its reputation as one of the pearls of Haarlem. We opted for the 5-course chef's menu with a matching wine pairing, and that turned out to be an excellent choice. The dishes were very well balanced, both in terms of portions and flavor combinations. Remarkably, the main ingredients – such as the scallop and sea bass – were less special than the accompanying garnishes, which made the dishes truly spectacular. The absolute highlight of the evening, however, was the duck. Everything was just right here: the cooking, the sauces and the layout. A true taste sensation! We found a small downside that dishes with wagyu and sweetbreads could only be ordered as a supplement. We would have liked to see that on the menu, but that is a good reason to dine à la carte next time. In terms of wine, we normally choose a bottle from the menu, but the prices here are quite high (almost everything above €100), which is a bit exaggerated, because there are really fantastic wines for less. Even if they have to turn upside down a few times. Fortunately, the wine pairing was excellently composed and the wines matched the dishes perfectly. The sommelier's stories added extra depth to the experience. In itself we would not easily order the wines separately (with the exception of those with the main course), but tastes differ of course. The service was top notch. The atmosphere is accessible and relaxed, yet you are pampered in a neat and hospitable manner. Compliments to the entire team for a great evening! All in all, an absolute must for those looking for a culinary experience in Haarlem. Keep it up, Mano!

Great, why don't they have a star (yet)????

My wife persuaded me for the first time to go out for a fancy dinner. After a good review about our food from one of the owners of Mano (Toko Gembira Haarlem), it was inevitable that we would come to them to be pampered. A bit exciting because for me this was a far from my bed show. As it turned out, a world opened up for me! What delicious dishes made with passion and of a high standard. I especially enjoyed the oriental influences, and we also enjoyed the wine arrangement with extensive explanation from sommelier Rachel. You notice that the entire team from kitchen to service works with great pleasure and passion and conveys this to their guests. It is always such a delight when the level of elegant hospitality and the seamless steps gracious service are on par with culinary prowess. We - both seasoned restauranteurs - were quite pleased with the creative and skillful presentation of dishes too pretty to touch. These petite works of art pack a surprising punch of well-balanced flavors. The cozy and elegant room only holds 8 tables making it for an intimate setting. Team MANO makes the most of square inch of real estate by moving around the floor like good dance partners do. It is evident that this team can elevate this experience to even greater heights by moving onto a somewhat larger stage.

We enjoyed the dinner a lot! Especially the wine selection! Every single wine matches the dish very well. You can experience some “untraditional” wines. The food is also very good. With a lot of Asian ingredients inside. If I have to pick a minus point, I would go for the bread. The brioche is very tasty, but it is a bit too much/heavy for the dishes. I think it can just be replaced with sourdough bread. Later on they also provide normal bread, I am not sure if it is sourdough, but the quality can be better. Overall, I can definitely understand why they have 5 stars for so long time.😊

An absolute five star plus experience. From start to finish, hospitality, taste, experience and teamwork are central. The dishes are all works of art in presentation and taste experience; surprising, daring and exceptionally tasty. The personal attention from both the service and chef's side is something that completes the experience. Genuine interest and appreciation for the guests. The passion in this business radiates from all fronts. Would recommend it 100,000%.

Had a delicious meal several times. Daring wine arrangement with special wines, certainly not average, which makes it special. The service is also always fantastic here. In my opinion the best restaurant in Haarlem.

Tijdens kerst mogen eten bij Mano. Wat was het weer ontzettend goed. Niet alleen het eten maar de hele ervaring is subliem. Het hele team zorgt voor een persoonlijke benadering en het blijft geweldig om te zien dat elke chef met trots aan tafel komt vertellen over hun gerechten. In Haarlem e.o. zijn er veel toprestaurants, maar Mano is een van onze twee favorieten.

Christmas update: it was sublime again. The total experience at Mano is great every time. The food, wines, service and location are exactly our taste. We have been coming to Mano for a few years now and it is a treat every time. Because we couldn't choose, we took the 9 course menu this time and every dish was spot on.

Gisteravond gegeten bij Mano en sindsdien ons favoriete restaurant in Haarlem. Bij de amuses waren we verkocht, zo ontzettend lekker. De rest van de gerechten was van hetzelfde niveau. Aan alles is gedacht, prachtig opgemaakt, professionele service met een persoonlijke touch, en prettige sfeer in het restaurant. Wijnen waren perfect gematched met de gerechten. Wat ons betreft sterwaardig.

Alles was perfect: de gerechten (kleine schilderijtjes), de wijnen, de bediening en de ambiance. Niet goedkoop maar dan heb je ook wel wat. Een topavond gehad en enorm genoten.

Tafel met 6 personen; het eten en de service waren overweldigend met name ook de sommelier (echte topper). Een ware smaak explosie en geweldig 6-gangen menu in combinatie met wijnarrangement.

A beautiful and intimate restaurant. The people are friendly and very hospitable, good and personal service. The dishes are tasty and innovative and original. Flavors that you didn't think could be combined are combined here. Also beautiful wines from special and lesser-known areas.

Had a great evening in this nice little restaurant. A lot of attention is paid to the guests and you are guaranteed a relaxing evening. We particularly enjoyed the 2 optional dishes!
