Mano restaurant in Oude Stad

Had a delicious meal several times. Daring wine arrangement with special wines, certainly not average, which makes it special. The service is also always fantastic here. In my opinion the best restaurant in Haarlem.

Christmas update: it was sublime again. The total experience at Mano is great every time. The food, wines, service and location are exactly our taste. We have been coming to Mano for a few years now and it is a treat every time. Because we couldn't choose, we took the 9 course menu this time and every dish was spot on.

A beautiful and intimate restaurant. The people are friendly and very hospitable, good and personal service. The dishes are tasty and innovative and original. Flavors that you didn't think could be combined are combined here. Also beautiful wines from special and lesser-known areas.

Als Michelin jullie niet beloont, krijgen jullie van ons in elk gevel de meer dan verdiende sterren voor : De culminatie totaal ervaring van het jaar, de uitmuntende en meest attentvolle bediening van de Benelux, de best geoliede machine, de meest verfijnde gerechten én bijgerechten, de lekkerste brioche, de beste bijpassende wijnen en niet te vergeten, de beste sommelier. Had a great evening in this nice little restaurant. A lot of attention is paid to the guests and you are guaranteed a relaxing evening. We particularly enjoyed the 2 optional dishes!

Mano is an absolutely fantastic dining experience. Everything has been taken care of down to the last detail and every dish not only tastes great, but the presentation is also a work of art in itself. Not only the food, but also the glasses, plates, cutlery and the service are so incredibly good and beautiful. That makes you feel special as a customer. Each dish is accompanied by a detailed explanation of all the ingredients and techniques used. Eating here is something special, something you certainly can't afford every week, but if you have something to celebrate, Mano is an incredibly festive place!

Ate for the 2nd time today. Dishes were again on point and good combinations with wine. Definitely star worthy. We enjoyed it!

Every dish was an epiphany, just a really amazing time

Four of us had dinner at Mano on 8 Aug. I made the reservation for dinner & was called a few days before to remind me of the booking, not something that I easily forget in any case. On 7 Aug, I received a mail, again reminding me of the dinner appointment & detailing the financial penalties which we would incur if we didn't turn up - cancellation fees, less people turning up & than that in the reservation etc. I would have thought that these penalties should have been explained at the time of the booking & not one day before the event. Two of us don't eat beef or veal & that was communicated at the time of booking. At dinner, these two were given guinea fowl instead of beef which was on the set menu. While guinea fowl was perfectly adequate & quite nice, we would have liked to have had the lamb's neck, which was also available as an option. Unfortunately, this was not possible. Presumably, the guinea fowl was purchased specially for the two of us and, if we didn't have that, it would have gone to waste. While this is understandable, it does exhibit a certain inflexibility & limits the choice offered to the diner. We had excellent oysters to start with & then five courses from the set menu. The food was excellent, as was the service. The wine list was quite long but didn't have many wines that one gets really excited about - nevertheless perfectly adequate. It is quite a small restaurant with eight tables in a limited space, although one never felt that one was boxed in. It was great weather on the 8th and the view out the window was very pleasant, adding to the conviviality of the evening. Al in all, a very pleasant evening enjoyed by the four of us - we shall certainly come back again.

In a word: fantastic. Fine dining and really good service. Small restaurant and good staff. To be repeated.

We recently had the pleasure of dining at Mano in Haarlem for our anniversary, and it was an experience to remember! Initially, we struggled to book a table due to the restaurant's intimate size, but to our delight, we received a surprise call from one of the excellent staff members informing us of an opening. Their attention to detail started well before our visit, accommodating our corkage fee request seamlessly. Upon arrival, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a beautiful table overlooking the Spaarne. The staff's knowledge of our special occasion made us feel incredibly valued. The culinary journey began with a amouse bouches and some optional oysters—an exquisite blend of flavors that set the tone for the evening. We opted for the 7-course menu, and each dish was a masterpiece. As someone with experience in Michelin-starred restaurants, I was thoroughly impressed by the complexity and harmony of flavors, textures, and presentations. Every bite was a delight, perfectly balanced with sweet, salty, acidic, and fatty elements. Even the salt, specially sourced from Australia, added a perfect crunch and saltiness. The ambiance at Mano is intimate and high-class without being overly formal. The Japanese influence is evident in the ingredients, decor, and even the crockery and cutlery, adding a unique touch to the experience. Special thanks to Rachel and Tekura for their impeccable service and for making our evening so special. We will undoubtedly book again when the menu changes for the new season. Mano is worth a detour to Haarlem and is perfect for couples looking to celebrate a special occasion. If you were ever in doubt, don't be—this place is a must-visit!

Dankzij de goede ervaringen die ik las zijn weg terecht gekomen bij Mano. We hebben genoten van heerlijke maaltijden die door een net wat andere toevoeging ons ook positief verrasten. De bediening is attent en alert. Daniel die ook de tijd neemt bij je aan tafel om te horen hoe je ervaring is vind ik daarin ook zeer positief. Door de warmte van de dagen ervoor was het restaurant wel nog erg warm. Persoonlijk niet veel last van, wij zaten bij het raam.

De totale ervaring bij Mano is elke keer weer geweldig. Het eten, de wijnen, de service en lokatie zijn helemaal onze smaak. Wij komen nu een paar jaar bij Mano en het is elke keer weer een feest. Omdat we niet konden kiezen hebben we dit keer het 9 gangen menu genomen en elk gerecht was raak.

Wat een fijn restaurant is Mano toch! Zeer attente en persoonlijke bediening. Sfeervolle ambiance. De geweldige keuken produceert uitsluitend prachtig opgemaakte amuses en gerechten . Mooie, subtiele smaakcombinaties, vaak met een oosters tintje. De beste zwezerik die wij ooit aten. Een aandachtspuntje: in al het culinaire geweld dolf het wat karige stukje (gekweekte?) tarbot een beetje het onderspit. We hebben genoten en komen zeker terug.

Just wow! An absolute experience, every course surpassed the previous one. Will definitely eat there again when I come to the area. For 2 people just under 400 EUR with a bottle of wine.

Had a very special evening. While the food was really stunning in terms of flavors and style, the approach of how all members of the team give you attention is very refreshing. Enjoyed a fantastic 6 course dinner with my husband yesterday! The dishes are extremely tasty. The service was also very friendly and there was a relaxed atmosphere. We liked that the chefs came to the table to explain the dishes when serving them, you can tell that a lot of love has gone into it.

We enjoyed every dish! When you think you've had the tastiest dish, a new taste sensation will soon follow. We have already tried several star restaurants in Haarlem such as Olivijn and Ratatouille. But Mano became our new favorite yesterday, because of the beautiful dishes and friendly service. I sincerely hope that you can also receive a star this year.

What an experience, the food looks like a true work of art, it is almost a shame to eat it, but I recommend everyone to do so anyway, what an experience, as a non-drinker and certainly not a wine drinker, I have opted for a wine arrangement and I don't regret it, even I could taste the great combination, highly recommended. The chefs bring the beautiful dishes to the table and explain with passion how the dish is put together, the service really doesn't miss anything. We enjoyed everything Mano offers and will definitely return.

Wat een heerlijke avond hebben wij gehad bij Mano. Ieder gerecht was een juweeltje, met zorg opgemaakt en heel smooth geserveerd. De smaken waren werkelijk fantastisch, heel doordacht en perfect uit gebalanceerd. Alles was vers en perfect van smaak. Het gerecht met de langoustine 🍤 is een van de lekkerste gerechten die ik ooit heb gegeten. Die saus! Wow! Jullie signature dish. Even een compliment voor de chefs en het keukenpersoneel. Wat was alles mooi opgemaakt. Het oog wil zeker wat. Even een compliment voor al het personeel. Alles werd prachtig en zeer comfortabel geserveerd. Alles kwam op tijd en was perfect getimed. Perfecte (!) porties. Het is duidelijk dat hier heel veel werk en liefde in is gaan zitten. Halverwege gevraagd of het tempo goed was. Zeldzaam teamwerk met elkaar. We zijn geweldig verwend. Hier houden we van. We gaan zeker vaker komen. Chapeau!

Tijdens de zoektocht naar een kwalitatief hoogstaand restaurant in de buurt van Bloemendaal komen er via diverse website’s een aantal goede suggesties. Op basis van foto’s die te vinden zijn op Instagram, want ja, zo gaat dat anno 2023, viel onze keuze op Restaurant Mano in Haarlem. Tijdig reserveren is een goede tip want dit restaurant is erg populair. De ontvangst is erg vriendelijk. De dame die onze jassen aanneemt kent onze namen valt me op. Er staat een tafel voor ons klaar bij een open raam. De inrichting is smaakvol minimalistisch. Aan de tafel naast ons worden de amuses al gepresenteerd en die zien er op deze afstand al heel aantrekkelijk uit. De sommelier legt ons de keuze in wijnen uit en schenkt ons in. Eén van de twee Chefs overhandigt ons de kaart en legt ons de opties uit. Enigszins voorbereid kiezen we voor het zeven gangen Chefs menu. Naast ons wordt een uitklapbaar onderstel voor een dienblad neergezet en de spanning stijgt. Kort daarna komt vanuit de keuken een dienblad vol met amuses. De tafel wordt gevuld met een aantal prachtige creaties en we luisteren aandachtig naar wat we allemaal voor ons hebben staan. We beginnen aan de amuses en zijn blij verrast met wat we proeven. Het derde “hapje” doet iets met me dat ik één keer eerder in m’n leven heb meegemaakt. Tranen in je ogen door een smaak? Ja, dat kan dus. Het eerse gerecht is coquille, zeebanaan, bacon en sjalot. Het gerecht wordt aan tafel afgemaakt met een luchtig schuim. De coquille is perfect gebakken en de smaak combineert super mooi met de knapperige zeebanaan We vervolgen het diner met kabeljouw, tuinkruiden en opperdoezer ronde. Ook hier weer een luchtig schuim dat elk hapje nog zachter en romiger maakt. Dan komt de langoustine met ponzu en limoenblad. Drie prachtige creaties op het bord waaronder een gevulde dim sum en een crème die verstopt zit in de rand van het bord. Mooi hoe de japanse invloeden van de chefs hier subtiel naar voren komen Het volgende gerecht is tarbot met kombu en vin jaune. Het gerecht wordt aan tafel afgemaakt met een saus van witte wijn uit de Jura. De tarbot is precies goed gegaard en heeft een verrassende crunch. De prei is zacht gegaard en past perfect bij dit smaakvolle visgerecht. We zijn alweer toe aan het vijfde gerecht. Buikspek, boudin noir en mosterd. Mals vlees met een subtiel vetrandje in een kleverige jus. De bloedworst geeft een mooie smaak aan het geheel. De mosterd in de rand van het bord smaakt zacht en maakt het geheel af. De Chef maakte absoluut geen geheim van de bereidingswijze van dit gerecht en vertelde alles over de temperatuur en duur van de garing. Dan is het tijd voor het hoofdgerecht. Ossenhaas, spitskool en zolderspek. Het vlees is zo zacht, dat je je weer eens realiseert wat het belang van goede ingrediënten is. De jus heeft een rijke smaak en de luchtige hollandaise past er perfect bij. De spitskool is bijzonder zacht en de presentatie helemaal van deze tijd. Naast dit wat zwaardere gerecht staat apart een mini ceasar salad gepresenteerd die je als een amuse uit de hand kunt eten. Frisse smaken met een krokante bite van kaas. Helaas zijn we nu al aangekomen bij het dessert. Kastanje, mandarijn vanille. Het smaakt romig, zacht en zoet. Ook hier weer een prachtige presentatie met kastanje blaadjes, vlinders en groene accenten. De quenelle van ijs met mandarijn geeft een frisse touch. En ja, wat mag je hier dan over zeggen als je niet regelmatig op dit niveau uit eten gaat… Een beleving van bekende en ook nieuwe smaken. De Chefs die om de beurt hun creaties komen brengen en uitleggen is uniek. De bediening super netjes en attent. De rustige ambiance klopt. De keuken zelf is rustig en gemoedelijk. Voor ons een beleving die we niet snel zullen vergeten én een hoop inspiratie voor de toekomst. Mano Haarlem is 10, 10, 10. Het zal me niet verbazen als er volgend jaar op de gevel een rood logo met en klein wit poppetje prijkt als bekroning op deze gastronomische top tent.

Echt super om hier te eten, pure verwennerij! De gerechten zijn vernieuwend door de nieuwe smaken, ingrediënten en combinaties. Echt een avond uit met alles erop en eraan

Had an amazing 6 course dinner with wine pairing tonight. The food and drink were fantastic, maybe the best I’ve had in Haarlem ever (and I’ve lived here for 30 years). It’s very unfortunate though that this place doesn’t offer tap water. I can imagine that if you serve a burger, you need to make your money on selling water. But when you charge €400+ for 2 people (and worth every euro!), it’s totally absurd that you refuse to give your guests tap water when they ask for it. Please let me know when you change this policy, and I’ll be happy to come again (just to be clear; I’m happy to pay for the water; I just don’t like the useless extra pollution that is created thanks to the bottled water).

Geweldig! Wat een bijzondere smaken en structuren weten ze hier te creëren op je bord. Echt een aanrader!

Voor de vierde keer geweest. Zoals altijd is het eten hartstikke goed net als de service. De gastvrouw en koks komen altijd een praatje maken en zorgen voor een onvergetelijke avond.

Wat een fantastisch restaurant! Geweldige service, een zeer enthousiaste kok die alle gerechten tot in de puntjes uitlegt en de gerechten zien er niet alleen fantastisch uit, maar smaken ook nog eens heerlijk.

Je komt niet vaak zulke fijne, kleine, intieme plekken tegen als Mano. Waar de bediening een fantastische timing heeft (‘hé, is mijn glas alweer bijgevuld?), superlief is en de sous chef zó enthousiast is over de gerechten die ons voorgeschoteld werden, dat het verhaal vooraf net zo verfijnd was als de gerechten zelf. Een restaurant met grote ambities, heerlijke gerechten en wijnen. Voor iedereen die dit leest: Ga. Hier. Naartoe. Michelinsterwaardig (maar leuker). Wij hebben genoten, dank! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Wij zijn hier afgelopen weekend geweest en hebben genoten. Het eten staat centraal en vervult die rol met verve. Enige twee minpuntjes die ik kan bedenken zijn dat de ruimte niet helemaal ‘fancy’ is (kozijn mag eventueel nieuwe verf en de kasten in de koffiehok zijn Ikea style) en 2 kleine foutjes in de bediening (1x verkeerde glazen neergezet, 1x een side dish zonder lepeltje, beide werd herstelt voordat wij er erg in hadden), maar dat is dan ook het enige negatieve en voor ons amper van belang. Het eten is subliem en de service zeer persoonlijk, je voelt je welkom en er wordt echt tijd voor je genomen. Oosterse tinten worden gecombineerd met de Franse keuken, heerlijk. Voor ons staat dit boven een Aan de Poel en snappen wij niet zo goed dat Mano geen ster heeft bemachtigd. Voor ons een reden om voortaan niet alleen op de heilige sterren van Michelin af te gaan.

1 1/2 geleden gegeten bij Mano. Een genot. De gerechten, het bijpassende wijnarrangement, de bediening, de chefs. Echt super. Wij wachten in spanning af wat 23 april, toekenning Michelinster genomineerden, voor Mano gaat brengen. Dit Team van culinaire architecten verdient het zeker.

Wauw wat een ervaring is dineren bij Mano zeg. Echt iedere gang is weer een verrassing en zo ontzettend lekker. De combinatie van gerechten en wijnen is ook echt top. Echt een aanrader, je wordt helemaal in de watten gelegd.

Bediening is super! Erg vriendelijk en hartelijk. Het eten is ook subliem! Dat zij nog geen ster hebben is onbegrijpelijk. Zeker voor herhaling vatbaar.
