This place is the real deal. The hummus is crazy smooth and the baba ganoush has that perfect smoky flavor. But honestly, the falafel steals the show—totally fresh, super crispy on the outside, and fluffy inside without being greasy at all. You get fresh-baked bread to scoop everything up with, and they have a great selection where you can grab amazing olives to go. Super friendly staff and great whether you sit down for a quick lunch or just grab takeout. New favorite spot!

I really love stopping by Maroosh. Their mezze and spreads are always super fresh and have so much flavor—you can tell everything is made with care. It’s the perfect place to grab some healthy, delicious food when you're walking through the center. The owner is also a huge reason why I keep coming back. They are incredibly kind and always make you feel welcome the moment you walk in. It’s just a great, local business with a really friendly atmosphere. Definitely worth a visit if you want something authentic and tasty!

When I want to treat myself, celebrate something on my own, or just crave something truly delicious, I eat a wonderful plate here, prepared with so much love. The service is exceptionally top-notch, the food unrivaled, and the atmosphere very intimate and authentic. A little gem on the Botermarkt. Thank you for your delicious food that warms my heart.

We found this restaurant during our visit to Haarlem. What a treat! We discovered the true flavors of the Middle East. I even got to try bamya (okra in sauce). The meat and all the other dishes were delicious. I highly recommend the homemade lemonade to accompany your meal. The manager was very welcoming. A must if you're in Haarlem!

When we travel to Haarlem, we try to go in and eat the delicious food. We are originally from the Middle East and I don't remember eating anything close to this delicious taste! The food is excellent and the price is definitely reasonable, the employees are kind. Highly recommended.

They serve delicious Middle Eastern food with a great variety of options. I know how difficult it is to cook all of this fresh every day, so the prices are very fair. The dips are to die for, and the sarma/dolma is always fresh and absolutely amazing.

The lady was so sweet to us and had the patience to explain us everything. Then the food was everything we were expecting! If you have a taste for authentic Middle Eastern cuisine you should go to Maroosh! We've had the amazing Middle Eastern food from Chicago, also authentic, but the rotating menu, personable service, and the fact that you can taste the passionate cooking in each bite made this us visit multiple times during our stay in Haarlem. We trusted her to make the bowl we'd like, and she delivered! We also requested the warm ginger and lemon tea; perfect drink for an autumn day in Holland! (No picture of the food because we gobbled it up too fast!)

Unfortunately, almost everything was sold out when we arrived around 1:00 PM, but it smelled fantastic, and the other guests' food looked delicious. If the shop hadn't been closed the next day, we would have driven back to Haarlem. Anyone who likes oriental food will certainly not be disappointed here.

If you are exploring the city and need a break, this is the place to do it. Lovely part of the city, super friendly people and just all around great food. We will come back!

Every time we go on a city trip, we look for a Lebanese restaurant. We've already eaten Lebanese in Brussels, Berlin, and Malaga ;-) Now in Haarlem, and it was delicious! We had lunch here; they offered a four-course menu, along with falafel and homemade lemonade. Really delicious, fresh, and pure flavors. The service was very friendly. Seating is limited, but we managed to snag a nice spot on the bench in front. Maroosh is worth the detour!

Very tasty food with very kind people serving.

This is my family’s favorite food place in Haarlem. It is quite small, it has two little table inside and two or three more outside. However, the food dishes are delicious, with chicken and beef choices, vegetables, rice, stuffed peppers and aubergine, amongst others. You can normally get a small plate with 4 choices, or the big plate with 6 choices. The big plate is quite generous, while the small plate suffices for a child. We really enjoyed the watermelon home lemonade they served us and the saffron tea with ginger and rose buds. The staff were really friendly and they sat us at the tables inside and offered us some rose buds when we left to have for tea at home. While the place is normally for take away, if you find one of the tables free is nice to eat in as well

If you want to eat healthy and incredibly tasty, this is the place to be, because there is a top chef in the kitchen who does wonders with herbs. Even as a vegetarian, you will be very happy here. Compliments!

I came here for some rice (I already had meat myself). I left with 2 black containers that, when weighed with the container and rice, had a total weight of 750 grams. In other words, about 600 grams of rice, briyani, filled with a single almond. What did I pay? 30€! I thought it was a mistake, but no, it was right. I then said that rice was €2 per kg raw. And it absorbs 2x its own weight in water, so the cost was less than €1, to which she very cleverly replied "no, our rice is €4/kg", of course this didn't make it much more logical. At Mabrouk next door you can get 3 whole roasted chickens for the same amount, really very sad.

Oh my my my. I give this cozy spot 5 stars without a doubt. For the friendliness of the owner and for thinking along about food/drink because the mezzes I wanted were gone, for the deliciousness of the food and the tasty drinks (homemade ice tea & saffron/ginger tea) and for their son who helped so much! Salesman in the making. There are a few places to sit and I saw that many customers also come for take away. The owner had made a plate with different mezzes so that we could taste everything. And wow, that falafel...totally different than what you often get served elsewhere. A thin super crispy layer around it. Delicious. Not in the photo: Lebanese bread and the ginger saffron tea. Chicken tastefully seasoned (and well heated... sometimes you get lukewarm chicken that you have to send back), vine leaves surprisingly tasty and actually the rest of the mezzes too. You felt that this food was not filling but nourishing. For the rest of the day, all the tasty snacks or ice cream that tempt you along the way were no longer interesting 😅😅. Sukran for the great service 🙏 we will come back!

AMAZING middle eastern food that you can see and taste that is made with love. We came here for the first time when we were under the weather and wanted comforting and nutritious food, which is exactly what we good. Ever since we came two more times, each time getting more dolmas (they are the best). There are a lot of vegan options which is great, and just in general a terrific place, the hummus is very good, the falafel and pita is super tasty, the lentil soup I can eat a full pot of!

Here, Middle Eastern cuisine is served in its purest form. Delicious! Every day you can choose from a varied range of fragrant dishes. Also vegetarian. You can eat it on the spot, but most guests take the food home. Don't be surprised when they are 'sold out' because I'm not the only one who likes to get something from Maroosh. Highly recommended!

In love with this place, its food and its attention. Many people took the food to go, but we ate there with 2 and 4 year old children and what can I say, it couldn't be better. When you travel and find a place like this, the trip improves a lot.

Regular (almost) weekly stop at Maroosh. The food is delicious and the service exceptionally good and friendly. Many vegan options available. Even though it's busy, there's always time for a quick chat! Recommended!! And tip: come early, maroosh sells out quickly!

Haarlem heeft een goed eetadres erbij. Blij mee! Heerlijke verse gerechten en voortreffelijk van smaak. En ook fijn dat je zo vriendelijk wordt geholpen.

Wat een ontdekking! Heerlijk maar dan ook echt heerlijk broodje falafel gegeten! Jammer dat ze geen bezorg service hebben en niet altijd open zijn maar aan de andere kant houdt dat het ook wel weer speciaal :) ga er snel weer heen!

De kwaliteit is goed en de smaken zijn lekker, maar ik vind de prijs te hoog. Voor 1 persoon pilaf, limabonen en gewone boontjes voor 13euro vind ik persoonlijk te duur. Afhalen. Vegetarisch, geen vlees of vis. De portie was daarbij niet groot. Geen herhaling voor mij helaas

It's a very small but very friendly place. For 3 or 4 people to sit down and grab something to eat it's very appropriate. The food has amazing flavours, the owners are very friendly and warm. We enjoy the vibe and food.

Vandaag voor het eerst bij Maroosh gegeten. Wat een fantastische smaakervaring! Ik en een vriendin hebben ons laten verrassen met een overheerlijk plateau van allerlei hapjes uit het mooie Midden-Oosten. De warmte en vriendelijkheid die de eigenaren uitstralen is waardevol. Super service, mooie winkel en goede producten. Ik zal er vaker gaan eten of afhalen.

This is one of the best middle eastern cuisines I ever tried in my life as an Arab expat who lived in many different continents and countries and worked within the hotel and restaurant l business for more than 11 years of my life from kitchen to service across the world.
