Can repeatedly recommend Buyer to everyone; super tasty food with a changing menu (every 8 weeks you can choose from a new 4 or 5 course menu), the atmosphere was great, service super nice and thoughtful (and knows exactly which wine pairs well with which course) and the food exceeded our expectations. No-brainer to be completely honest.

At Restaurant Koper we experienced an evening that exceeded our expectations. The promise of surprising wines is absolutely fulfilled here: every glass was not only special and tasty, but also matched the dishes perfectly. It is clear that a lot of attention is paid to the selection and pairing. The dishes themselves were beautifully presented and a pleasure to taste. Each dish surprised with refined flavors and a creative twist. The highlight of the evening for us was the redfish with sweet potato gravy and capers. This dish was a true taste sensation that will remain in our memories for a long time. In addition, the hospitality deserves a special mention. The team at Restaurant Koper knows exactly how to offer their guests a warm welcome, with a keen eye for detail. From a friendly welcome to attentive service that responds to small wishes and details, everything contributes to a relaxed and personal experience. In short, an absolute must for lovers of good food, unique wine combinations and exceptional hospitality. We will definitely come back here more often!

Really enjoyed it! Perfect balance between delicious food and a wonderful hostess. He told us about the dishes and wines in a light-hearted, humorous way. The restaurant is the perfect size, you don't sit and look at each other's plates. Nice that the kitchen is open so you can take a look every now and then. If I think carefully, the only point of constructive criticism I can think of is that the knife with the starter could have been a little sharper to cut the delicious chicory. In short, highly recommended!! (No photos, we enjoyed the food too much 😁)

Fabulous proposal. Dishes very well prepared, interesting and above all delicious. In a very pleasant atmosphere and with fabulous service. We had the 5-course Menudo and loved it. A kale and feta cheese tart, fabulously cooked cod, tender and delicious, tortellini on a hare base, a very tasty combination and finally venison, just right and delicious. The pumpkin dessert is the perfect finishing touch to a dinner for 10. A great pairing with Spanish and Dutch wine. We will definitely return when we are in Harlem. It is always nice to find small restaurants with soul and such good cuisine.

After a taster with the wine & food route (where they stood head and shoulders above the other 5 restaurants) we finally tasted the 4 courses plus bubbles and cheese. Matching wines (Bob) for less than €100 on the nose. And the quality is worthy of a bib gourmant, beautifully presented and tasteful. These entrepreneurs who are also partners at home breathe hospitality. We will definitely come back again.

The 2 of us opted for the 5-course menu with wine arrangement. All courses were well balanced. The leek was surprisingly good, a really good start. The slowly cooked pork belly fell apart when touched like a cooked salmon fillet, wonderfully soft and incredibly tasty. The tortellini was incredibly tasty in combination with the sauce and cream. The duck breast was honestly the best I have eaten in recent years, a beautiful piece of perfectly cooked duck with a complimenting sauce. Afterwards my partner had the cheese and I had the dessert, both a treat to end this delicious dinner. Apart from the food, it is a really nice evening out, a super warm, fun and nice place to really enjoy yourself. Definitely a top restaurant! Until next time!

Wat een aanwinst. Restaurant Koper is een gezellig, warm restaurant waar je je welkom voelt. Door de open keuken is er ook een leuk contact met de koks. Wij namen het 4 gangen menu, dit was heerlijk en met veel liefde bereikt. Veel verschillende smaakcombinaties en mooie bijpassende wijnen. De eigenaren zijn zeer gastvrij en ter zake kundig. Wij komen zeker terug, een aanrader.

Gastvrije, huiselijke diner beleving. Daisy is de perfecte gastvrouw en Bas de chef in de keuken. Wat een genot om bij ze aan te mogen schuiven. Een klein restaurant waardoor het voelt als een huiskamer. We namen het 5 gangen diner met een wijnarrangement. Daisy had verstand van de wijnen, wat wij prettig vinden. Leuke afwisselende wijnkaart. Het menu was een plaatje op je bord en een (h)eerlijke smaak ervaring. Pure smaken, geen poespas. De inrichting is stijlvol. Het is het Grote Genieten bij restaurant Koper.

A wonderful flavour experience - great food beautifully presented, good wine pairings and an easy and welcoming atmosphere. Missed a picture of the olive bread as it was so delicious there was no time to take a picture before it disappeared!

Very kindly received by interested hostess. Choice was easy, a 4 or 5 course, vegetarian/non-vegetarian. All courses were surprising, varied and portions were large enough. Nice atmosphere, we will come back soon!

You don't go out to eat at Koper restaurant. You get a dining experience! Every plate is a party and an absolute taste sensation. Great atmosphere, service, chefs, food, wine. Everything is great. We go here more often. (even if it is an hour's drive) Carel & Brigitte

5 stars is not enough for Koper, what a fantastic evening we had! An extremely relaxed and unhurried atmosphere in a cozy authentic space. And then comes the food; When I saw the menu I thought "hmm, these aren't really ingredients I'm crazy about", but the gentlemen in the kitchen really know how to make it a party. Every course was a very pleasant surprise. Every time I thought: give me one more portion of this, but at the end of the evening I was more than satisfied. The hostess was super flexible and knew how to put together a few glasses of wine advice flawlessly. I'm eagerly awaiting the new menu, it gives us a good reason to visit again!

A gem. That's exactly what I dare to call Restaurant Koper. The restaurant (visited on October 29, 2023; less accessible for the disabled: you have to go down the stairs to reach the toilet) has not yet been discovered by Michelin at the time of writing. But that won't last long, because as far as I'm concerned, chef Bas Noordhuis's kitchen achievements can be compared to those of the three Michelin-star restaurants that Haarlem now has. And he exceeds one, as far as I'm concerned. My taste experience was greatly enhanced by the excellent choice of wine by hostess Daisy Noordhuis. She is also responsible for a matching and attractive tea arrangement for those who like to dine alcohol-free. In Restaurant Koper you do not eat à la carte, but - after an appetizer - you can choose from a chef's menu of four (€58) or five (€65) courses. My dining partner and I went for five courses with a wine and tea pairing: sweet potato, halibut, gnocchi, venison and tarte tartin with cinnamon ice cream. All fantastic dishes (in larger portions than you get in star restaurants) and the halibut deserves an extra mention. What a fantastic taste experience. Do I have any points of criticism? Yes, but they are small! The sandwich served is unimaginative and served as a supplement. I think bread should be in the menu: then increase your menu price and make just a little more of it. The herb butter served with it surprised me: I tasted clear notes of kale. But kale turned out not to be one of the ingredients, as I learned when I asked. However, the flavor of the herb butter continued to beckon and went down nicely! A second point of criticism concerns my personal aversion to paid table water with a wine arrangement. If you take such an arrangement and want to taste good, then you simply need that water. In my opinion, water should not be served as a supplement with a wine pairing. Or, as they say at Olivijn* in Haarlem: it is part of our guest's basic facilities. I keep a very personal list in which I rate the better restaurants on five points: food, general service, maître sommelier, ambiance and atmosphere. Restaurant Koper surprisingly comes second (because it has no star), leaving many star restaurants behind it. In my list, Bas and Daisy only have to tolerate Restaurant De Lindehof** in Nuenen. What an achievement! At Koper our bill came to just under €100 per person, while at De Lindehof I paid more than double. If I compare the price-quality ratio, Restaurant Koper comes first.

Een pareltje. Zo durf ik Restaurant Koper beslist te noemen. Het restaurant (bezocht op 29-10-2023; minder goed toegankelijk voor mindervaliden: voor het toilet moet je de trap af) is op het moment van schijven nog niet ontdekt door Michelin. Maar dat zal niet lang meer duren, want wat mij betreft kunnen de keukenprestaties van chef Bas Noordhuis vergeleken worden met die van de drie Michelin-sterrenrestaurants die Haarlem nu rijk is. En eentje overstijgt hij, wat mij betreft ruim. Aan mijn smaakbeleving werd een goede duit in het zakje gedaan door de prima wijnkeuze van gastvrouw Daisy Noordhuis. Zij is bovendien verantwoordelijk voor een bijpassend en fraai thee-arrangement voor wie graag alcoholvrij dineert. In Restaurant Koper eet je niet à la carte, maar kun je – na een amuse – kiezen uit een chefsmenu van vier (€58) of vijf (€65) gangen. Mijn tafelpartner en ik gingen voor vijf gangen met een wijn- en een thee-arrangement: zoete aardappel, heilbot, gnocchi, hert en tarte tartin met kaneelijs. Stuk voor stuk fantastische gerechten (in ruimere porties dan je in sterrenrestaurants krijgt) waarbij de heilbot een extra vermelding verdient. Wat een fantastische smaakbeleving. Heb ik geen punten van kritiek? Jawel, maar die zijn klein! Het geserveerde broodje is fantasieloos en wordt geserveerd als supplement. Ik vind dat het brood in het menu hoort: verhoog dan je menuprijs en maak er net wat meer van. De erbij geserveerde kruidenboter verraste mij: ik proefde duidelijke tonen van boerenkool. Maar boerenkool bleek niet een van de ingrediënten, zo leerde ik bij navraag. De smaak van de kruidenboter bleef echter lonken en ging schoon op! Een tweede puntje van kritiek betreft mijn persoonlijke aversie tegen betaald tafelwater bij een wijnarrangement. Neem je zo’n arrangement en wil je goed proeven, dan heb je dat water gewoon nodig. Bij een wijnarrangement dien je water naar mijn stellige overtuiging niet als supplement te serveren. Of, zoals men het bij het Haarlemse Olivijn* zegt: het hoort bij de basisvoorzieningen van onze gast. Ik houd een zeer persoonlijk lijstje bij en daarin beoordeel ik de betere restaurants op vijf punten: eten, bediening algemeen, maître sommelier, ambiance en sfeer. Restaurant Koper wordt verrassend (want geen ster) tweede en laat zo vele sterrenrestaurants achter zich. In mijn lijstje hoeven Bas en Daisy alleen Restaurant De Lindehof** in Nuenen voor zich te dulden. Wat een prestatie! Bij Koper kwam onze rekening uit op iets minder dan €100 per persoon terwijl ik bij De Lindehof op ruim het dubbele kwam. Zet ik de prijs-kwaliteitsverhouding tegen elkaar af, dan staat Restaurant Koper met stip op één.

Wat een fijn restaurant. Heerlijk eten (we hadden een 4 gangen diner inclusief wijn arrangement en kaas). Heerlijke gerechten, fijne wijntjes, erg vriendelijke bediening. Beetje een huiskamer restaurant vibe. Wij gaan zeker nog eens terug!

I really enjoyed this lovely restaurant run by a local couple. Daisy was extremely hospitable and provided amazing service. The food prepared by Bas was beautiful, creative and flavorful. I had 4 courses and they added a lovely amuse bouche. I don’t typically do wine pairings but these were perfectly chosen. The menu changes seasonally and I look forward to tasting the next menu. It’s also on a beautiful, bustling street with a nice covered terrace.

Hidden gem, just opened in May 2023. Unexpected. On a rainy, soaking wet Sunday evening in early August, we found this charming row house in the old city center. Open kitchen. Cosy and elegant interior. Only one menu, with some options, but that's fine as it brings focus. Cook is skilled and knows what he's doing. Meat and fish were cooked really to the point. Creative touches. In general there's an excellent price quality balance and it's very worth to visit.

Een nieuw pareltje in Haarlem. Mooie zaak waarover is nagedacht, van servies tot inrichting. De formule is simpel: keuze uit en 4 of 5 gangenmenu en op verzoek een bijpassend wijn arrangement. Over de keuken kan ik kort zijn: ronduit uitstekend, alles in balans en met liefde en vakmanschap bereid en gepresenteerd. Het is kleine zaak met 30 couverts en nog onbekend, ik hoop dat hier verandering in komt want dat verdienen ze. Het toevoegen van een compacte a la carte kaart kan het misschien versnellen.

Restaurant Koper blew me out of the water today. Their interior has a pleasant ambiance in both color scheme and set up and their open kitchen shows that the chef has confidence in what he is doing. It also gives the guest the opportunity to see how their food is prepared which is a green flag on itself. The food which I was served was absolutely stunning and just calling it food doesn't do it justice. My whole 5 course menu were small pieces of art in which flavor and texture were a delicate mix which went hand in hand. The courses were enhanced and elevated to another level by a stunning pairing of carefully selected wines. Our waiter made sure we knew the ins and outs of the wines and she was there when we needed her without being overly present. If you enjoy high quality food which is sure to leave an impression make sure you visit Koper.. you'll be doing yourself a true favor by eating here.

Vorige week ons personeel verrast met een vijfgangendiner bij Koper. Dieetwensen waren al doorgegeven, maar één iemand hield ook niet van tomaten. Zonder problemen (of 'supplements') werd er een alternatieve - heerlijke - gang gepresenteerd. De service was uituntend, hartelijk en professioneel, het eten was waanzínnig en de wijnen fantastisch. Topwijnen uit de Oude en Nieuwe Wereld (de Limburgse Auxerrois was een schot in de roos) voor prijzen die je totaal niet verwacht in een luxe restaurant als Koper. Volgens mij was de duurste wijn nog geen vijftig euro per fles. We kregen alle tijd om te genieten, niets werd gehaast of afgeraffeld en aangezien we aan de pas zaten hadden we ook contact met de chef: ga vooral lekker achteraan zitten in het restaurant! Gisterenavond, heerlijk gegeten. Elk gerecht was weer een verrassing. De wijnen geselecteerd door de gastvrouw waren zeer passend bij de gerechten. Ik als rode wijn drinker dacht dat ik niet mee kon doen aan het wijn arrangement. Maar ook voor mij werden er passende wijnen gekozen. Meestal ga je uit eten en dat is dat, maar deze keer praten we een dag later nog over al het lekkers dat wij geproefd hebben. Top een dikke 10

Restaurant Koper, huiselijk, persoonlijk en verrukkelijk. De smaken die bij elkaar komen maken de avond bijzonder en zo eet/proef je dingen die je misschien niet snel zelf zou bestellen het zal je verbazen😚 Ik zelf heb 1 gerecht van het menu vegetarisch besteld en ook dit was geen enkel probleem. Wij kijken uit naar het volgende menu.. en komen graag weer..
