I went to the restaurant “Man o To” today. Unfortunately there was a dried cockroach in the carafe of doogh, between the mint leaves! Even when I showed it to the waiter, I didn’t even get a simple apology. We ordered two cokes, but they charged us for three. We were supposed to get €10 back, but they said they only had €4! The waiters didn’t apologize for any of these things…

We ordered Kabab Torsh and a Vaziri platter. The dishes arrived after about four minutes, which shows they’d just been microwaved. The Kabab Torsh was completely undercooked—its meat was visibly red and very tough. Both the koobideh and the chicken skewer on the Vaziri platter were tough and tasteless, too. For that price, the food quality was really poor.

The service was absolutely terrible from the staff, as if we came to eat for free. The attitude was rude and completely unprofessional. The service was really rude to the staff, and we also wanted to eat without being rude. The handling was rude and completely unprofessional.

The kebab was delicious, but not greasy. The bread didn't look like their bread at all. The Shirazi salad was crumbly. I expected their food to be much tastier, given the praise I received. To be honest, it was average.

Delicious food, it was full and busy (and therefore cozy) but we still got our food and drinks quickly. Even our dog was allowed in and that is a nice service. This restaurant was recommended to us and that was completely right. Prices are also not too high. Recommended!

They are so rude here! - The recommendation to a vegetarian colleague was lamb chop.. 🤔 - Our starter is not even finished yet or the main course comes and they just try to take the starters away. To which I said that we would like to eat our starter. That was not possible. I put my starter on my main course. - After an hour we 'lost' our table because they wanted to seat other people and our dessert only had to be with 10 people at 2 small tables. Wow!! Really bizarre. I do not recommend this!

Such bad service I’ve had here compared to other persian restaurants in town. Everything seems to be in rush. Service was quite poor with not being considerate on when to ask/re-ask. Meat mince was not done when I asked I want it done. Unfortunately I wont get back here at least for coming months.

Food wasn't the best tasting persian food really, not so tender chicken, lamb fillet was tasting something close to liver, rice was undercooked, glass with dirt in it, asked for service, didn't receive it the way expected, only coke and glass exchanged, full of people with stressing atmosphere,staff gave us only 1 hour to be there. First and last visit, Sorry! Cannot recommend.

Actually, I had a reservation and arrived on time. When I arrived, they apologized for not having a table for me and put me at the bar. I didn't like the way the customers were treated, so I left the restaurant. It was a bad experience.

Unfriendly staff they were in such a big hurry that you couldn't ask any questions at all. Menu prices on the site were different than in the restaurant. They ask do you want rice with hard bottom or soft bottom? Without telling about the price differences (theft). The toilet was completely flooded and dirty. Too many people in a small space. In short, money for them was more important than keeping the customer satisfied. They constantly asked, do you want to order a starter? do you want to order something with your food? Do you want to order dessert? Really rude, not everyone wants to lose 100 euros at once. In short, not a good experience.

We had reservations and still had to wait 20 minutes when we arrived. We experienced the rudest waitress of all time here. Bad set-up of table making people seating in isolation next to columns. We asked to change the table setting and received sarcastic responses and of course they didn’t! Asked for ingredients of a dish received a sarcastic response again! They took our orders wrong and brought us 8 appetizers instead of three that we ordered and instead of taking them back and accepting the mistake she kept on justifying with an attitude. Took our plates away without asking if we are finished or not!

Enjoyed a fantastic evening! Delicious food, excellent service and surprising drinks such as saffron beer and dough buttermilk made it complete. Authentic flavours and warm hospitality - an absolute must for lovers of Persian cuisine and for those who want to try it for the first time.

I came here on the recommendation of others, but unfortunately my first experience with Iranian food outside did not change my opinion. The service was downright disappointing - the employee did not speak English or Dutch, and when we asked to fix a rickety table, it was dismissed as too much trouble. When taking the order, one drink was forgotten and when the food was finally served, it was put on the table without any explanation, as if it was a rush job. We had ordered a house dish mix, but there was no explanation on the menu, so we were basically eating blind. The food itself was okay, but extremely greasy - the mixed grill was literally floating in oil. Really bizarre that such a place is still open.

The portions are quite satisfying. The taste was also nice.

We sat outside on the terrace and it took a very long time until we received a menu and could order a drink. After we got a drink it seemed like they had forgotten about us again. We were about to pay and leave. When she came to take the order and we said it was taking a long time, our comment was ignored. No responses whatsoever. The food was okay, except that the bread was not fresh. I was quite disappointed, I can't recommend it.

Oh my God!! It was way better than I expected, highly recommend , we had mix starter and for the main course we had Soltani and the dough, saffron bier ,and then traditional ice cream, each was better than the other, I can’t wait to eat here again later🤩🤩🤩

Staff seemed nice, and this is a great restaraunt if you're on a dutch grey food diet. Half a tomato and half a chilli with a mountain of rice and the world's most unsalted, dry and skinniest koobideh.

The batter was half fat, half baking soda, something like rubber. Food is delicious! But service may change. Guests who come a little before you can choose a table, but if there are 2/3 tables available you are suddenly not allowed to choose. I didn't notice so much colored rice on the food and I didn't eat the colored rice, which was about 4 to 5 spoons of rice. I asked for extra rice, but apparently we had to pay a fee and it was not fair at all. Manoto restaurant is a great example of Persian/Iranian food. We recommend it to others wholeheartedly. We are big fans of "Bagheli polo," but almost every dish tastes delicious. The whole team does its job perfectly.

We been to the restaurant at 6 we had reservations,after we ordered the dishes took 5 min everything was on the table we had no time to talk to each other.food quality it was good & price was expensive After two only 2min , right after bringing dessert, the waiter told me that you have to leave here because we have another reservation, the food hadn't gone down yet and we had to get up quickly this was so akward and disrespectful how ever I’m not gonne go to this place anymore and not recommend respect it important for Iranian community..

Unfortunately, our experience at Manoto Restaurant was quite disappointing. Although we had made a reservation in advance, there was no table saved for us when we arrived. After waiting, we were finally seated, but even during our meal, we were asked to change our place, which was very disturbing and unprofessional. The restaurant was extremely crowded and loud, making it impossible to enjoy a calm and relaxed evening. If you are looking for a quiet and comfortable dining experience, I cannot recommend this place. Definitely not what we expected.

What a bad day. Bad feeling. Terrible behavior from the staff. The starter was not fresh. Just a very small piece of tomato, pepper and onion with the kebab. The kebab was drenched in poor quality oil. Small space. Hitting more than 10 times while eating. Dirty toilet. Very annoying music and noise....

I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone at all. We were a group of 9 people; there were a lot of mistakes in orders. Tahdigs arrived for wrong dishes, and when we told teh staff about it, they didn't change the dishes. Additionally, 2 of our ordered beers never arrived while after a few days when splitting the bill we figured that we've been charged for them. The kebab was stiff and smelly. There was very loud music playing in the background, making us to practically shout out loud to be able to communicate. Wouldn't recommend at all.

Best in. Amaterdam but always busy they must have a biger place

The best Persian restaurant in the Netherlands by far!

The restaurant was very crowded, and we were only able to reserve a table on the terrace since the morning. The waitress responsible for the terrace was quite rude and acted as if she was doing us a favor. She was impatient and didn’t provide any proper explanations about the menu. We ordered the Aroos kaban , Koobideh & the mixed grill platter for two. The portion of rice was relatively small, and while the food quality was average, it wasn’t bad either — just nothing special. It tasted like most Iranian restaurants abroad, without any distinctive flavor. The desserts seemed overpriced, so we skipped them. However, the doogh (yogurt drink) was tasty. Overall, it was an average experience. If the staff had been more polite and attentive, I would’ve rated it higher.

Very nice place, quality food..fast service A bit crowded.. and you are expected to leave soon.. we were having tea for dessert and the next reservation was already there, we were politely asked to leave ( after 75 minutes)

Tried Afghan kebab with saffron rice for the first time — definitely worth a try and definitely worth repeating! However, the reservation was poorly organized: even though we had made a reservation, we still had to wait about 10 minutes before we could be seated. That was a bummer in an otherwise tasty experience.

My favourite place in Amsterdam

I ordered baghali polo with gardan, the food quality was average. The seating was very bad, my seat was in the area where food orders were taken and everyone who passed by would bump into my seat, the table was very small and even the main course for two people could barely fit on it, the appetizer was brought first and thirty seconds later the main course was brought, which did not give me any time to enjoy the appetizer. I do not recommend this restaurant if you want to enjoy your food in a cozy nice place.

Their kebabs are very delicious and juicy. The rice is cooked in the Iranian style and is very aromatic.

We had dinner at Manoto on a Friday evening and it was a lovely experience. It was loud and crowded, cheery and full of couples, groups of friends and families enjoying a hearty meal. The food was amazing (the lamb neck was delicious), and the service was excellent. I’ll be coming back!

The food quality is really good, as always. However, what leaves a bad impression is the lack of respect for customers. 2-3 weeks ago , we had a reservation at 6:00 PM. Around 6:45 PM, the staff informed us that another group had reserved the same table for 7:00 PM, and we had to leave by then. This happened while we were still eating and about to order tea. When they finally brought the tea, they told us we had only five minutes left, so some of our friends had to take their tea outside and finish it at the entrance. It simply doesn’t make sense for a restaurant to book a table for a group of 10 at 6:00 PM and then reserve it again for another group at 7:00 PM. There should be at least 1 hour and 15 minutes to 1 hour and 30 minutes between reservations. Unfortunately, this shows that the restaurant is only focused on making money rather than valuing customers who come to enjoy a nice, relaxed time with friends. The appearance may suggest a proper dining experience, but in reality, it feels more like an “eat-and-go” place.

Eten was goed, maar de service daar in tegen was uitermate slecht. We waren met zn 3e voor dat er eindelijk iemand naar ons toekwam hebben we 30 min gewacht. Vervolgens vroegen we om bestek nadat het eten al was aangekomen aan tafel. Dat moest 4 keer herhaald worden bij 2 verschillende personen want dat begrepen ze niet. Ook mocht ik zelf mijn eten inpakken wat ik mee wilde nemen en als je om een menukaart vraagt wordt er ja geknikt en gaan ze gewoon verder met tafels schoonmaken. Vraag je het nog een keer krijg je uiteindelijk ook nogsteeds geen menukaart dus zeker niet voor herhaling vatbaar.

As a main course I ordered the Chelo Kebab Koobide. Unfortunately, I found the koobide to be on the greasy side, and the rice was also quite greasy. What I missed were standard extras such as lemon and fresh herbs (such as parsley or mint), which I had expected with this dish. I finally had to ask for a lemon separately. The portion of rice was reasonable but not particularly generous. In short, I give this restaurant a 3, because I still see a lot of room for improvement. I thought it was a chic restaurant.

I found the chelo kebab to be excessively oily. It was served with rice and a halved green pepper, which left me questioning why only half was included instead of a whole pepper. The meal also included a small plastic cup of butter and a halved tomato. Additional items such as salad or yogurt were priced at approximately one-third of the total cost of the meal. While the food was okay, the service was disappointing. We were not allowed to enjoy our own drinks and had to watch them throughout the entire meal.

The food is fantastic, the best mahiche in Amsterdam, with incredible mushroom sauce. Also recommend to order zeytoon parvardeh as starter. The place is always crowded, so better to reserve in advance

Delicious food! Disappointing service. I have been three times now and it’s always a mad rush once you’re in there. The last time was terrible. We were interrupted mid-dinner and were told we had overstayed our visit. Apparently we had sat there for “too long” (it had been 1.5 hours) when in fact they had massively overbooked with hoards of people waiting at the door disrupting the restaurant experience for the others. The waiter then told us we could sit for 10 more minutes. Terrible! We were forced to finish mid meal (no dessert or coffee and an unpleasant end to our dinner) and made our way to Parsa restaurant next door - better service, calmer atmosphere, homely authentic vibe and equally good food - I’ve been there several times and recommend it.

Teníamos la intención de visitar otro restaurante persa, pero nos rechazaron porque no teníamos reserva, aunque estaba prácticamente vacío cuando llegamos allí. Sin ningún plan, buscamos otros restaurantes persas en la zona y nos encontramos con Manoto. El lugar estaba saltando a las 5. 30 pm, pero lograron apretarnos. El servicio fue extremadamente rápido y eficiente. La comida era muy agradable, el plato de pescado en particular era tan delicioso que necesito tenerlo de nuevo muy pronto. ¿Es el lugar más elegante o mejor persa en el que he estado? No, pero es una opción sólida y definitivamente una repetición para nosotros (los precios también son muy buenos).

Bad experience immediately upon arrival, reservation was made but that apparently turned out to be nothing. We stood in the middle of the tent with our coats on. I have reserved a table for two people, of course we have a baby with a stroller, that was difficult to enter with a stroller, we had difficulty entering, then a server came and offered us to put the stroller at the entrance door, because there is not enough room at the tables, of course we wanted to put the stroller at our table and we did not accept, There is very little room at the tables, not for a stroller and also for people to just move, tables were almost 20 cm far from each other and they packed as many tables as possible into a small space, people started talking at a high pitch because it was too busy and they couldn't understand each other when they spoke normally, so there was a lot of noise in a small space, if you want to open a catering industry somewhere it is wise not only to think about your profit but also that people experience a quiet time and come back. My wife wanted to change our little one's diaper and asked a server if they had a place for diapers to be replaced in the toilet and the answer was "NO, NO SPACE", I really miss respect for customers there, what comes to mind is just the word "KRAB" with a lot of "oldness" and no respect. The food itself was okay, but you should pay attention that the grile rice was not laced with Zaferan and tasted of nothing, all in all there is no coming back for me and my family, I also do not recommend it for people with children or those who want to eat in peace.

Even though we had a reservation, we waited for two hours, and the barbecue we finally ate smelled really bad. And they don't care at all whether you are satisfied or not.

First time in an Iranian restaurant, it was a success! Huge portions, we had the grill for two people and couldn't finish it. Good price-quality ratio. Delicious exotic dessert. There was some confusion about the reservation, I also read this in other reviews, but the service was hospitable and friendly. Would go there again when I'm in Amsterdam again.

Good to know: - They do not accept online reservations, even though it appears on Google Maps—don't use it! - The hospitality and service are poor, making the experience feel pressured. - The food is average, with large portions, but far from perfect. The food is incredibly tasty. However, there are also a number of negatives: there are a lot of tables crammed into the space, so that you are almost literally sitting on your neighbor's lap. And they also want you to leave very quickly, so that you can make room for the next customer (for example, the main course is already served while you are still working on the starter and when you are done, you are expected to pay immediately). The inferior service and atmosphere are compensated by the delicious food, but there was no real authentic feeling of Persian hospitality.

Main course was tasty, good portion, I had lamb chop, friends ordered chicken and lamb shank. Service was nice. Only 1 minus point we had dessert from the chef well it came on one board such a very small cake really 1 snack with a very small amount of whipped cream n 1 small raspberry for about 9 euros that was really ridiculous So don't order dessert from chef!
