Value to money is low. Service is fair food is good.

Overall, it was okay. It's a small restaurant. The food was also okay, although I've had better kebabs. The service was a bit odd, as if they didn't want to work; a little friendliness would have been expected. No one ever asked if we wanted anything else; no one came to the table to ask if we wanted anything more to eat or drink. We constantly had to look after ourselves. In conclusion: it was okay.

The kebab was flavorful and tender, with great seasoning. The atmosphere was comfortable and the staff were friendly. Overall, a pleasant dining experience.

Upon arrival, we weren't greeted, and the staff didn't seem friendly. The atmosphere in the restaurant wasn't particularly pleasant either. The service left much to be desired—not particularly attentive or welcoming. The food arrived quickly, but was honestly just "okay," nothing special. All in all, not a restaurant I'd be tempted to return to.

I had high hopes for this restaurant, but unfortunately, my experience was quite disappointing. When we arrived, there was no one to welcome us or show us to a table, which made for an awkward start. I ordered the ghorme sabzi, a dish highly recommended by an Iranian friend, but it only had three (!) pieces of meat and was very bland — I couldn’t taste any of the signature lime flavor that my friend had described as essential to the dish.On top of that, the food didn’t resemble the pictures or descriptions on the restaurant’s website or menu.

Service was unfriendly and disappointing. If I hadn’t held my temper, I would have left. Definitely not the kind of hospitality I expected

I ate here a while back. The food was good, but unfortunately, there were some Iranians who weren't gay-friendly, and we were bullied out. We were two nice women (a couple). I really love the food here, but we were given such disgusting looks by customers that we had to leave. It was a traumatic experience. I haven't been back since. 😞 The staff didn't do anything about it either. If you live in Amsterdam, be prepared for all sorts of people living here! Please do something about this and pay attention to your customers' needs so they feel safe.

What an incredible experience at de aardige pers! The warm greeting, authentic decor, and delicious food made for a perfect evening. The staff were very friendly, and the food was truly delicious and well-seasoned, giving an authentic taste of a real Iranian restaurant. The yogurt with shallots, pickles, and doogh were also tasty. I only wish Iranian rice had been used, though I understand that it would have made the dishes more expensive. Overall, it is definitely worth a visit

Back again after some time, food was ok noting special compared to other Persian restaurants in Amsterdam. Disappointing that the ordered dishes didn’t have te same presentation than the menu card. I think that’s not ok for a restaurant. The dessert was disappointing to, (se picture) I can buy this in any supermarket… bad! Don’t like to give low ratings but consider this as a positive suggestion and feedback Would love to give more stars on the atmosphere to. but it’s a bit simplistic, whit those big windows whit no curtains or nothing . A more Persian atmosphere would be better. In Iran the restaurants I visited have far nicer interiors. Overall more the vibes of a fast food place than a restaurant. All of this is my personal impression of course 3 personen

The food is delicious, we had 3 different dishes. But as written in many reviews, the service (or kitchen) can not deliver in time, waiting for the dishes takes absolutely too long. What I have seen it looks like understaffed and not efficient.

At the end, one of the teas was spilled, and when we asked for a replacement, they charged us for it—which is quite unprofessional and not something you normally see elsewhere. We arrived in amesterdam to visit very dear member of our family and as I always plan our journey before hand ,I searched for a very good quality Persian Restaurant in Amsterdam Centre. We arrived here at 4pm (First table of The day 😀) After very nice greeting from the members of the team,We have been offered a table by the window and we ordered our food and in matter of 15min our food was ready. The food was really fresh and yummy 😋 and we really enjoyed it. The price aswell was reasonable and all together we had great experience. I would like to thanks The Owner and All team members from chef to floor team for their lovely and warm service. Will visit here again on our next trip to Amsterdam. Thank you guys .

I had an excellent experience at Saman in Amsterdam! The restaurant had a super cozy and traditional vibe making you feel right at home. The highlight for me was definitely the Joojeh Kabab—perfectly cooked, flavorful, tender and well-marinated. A must-visit for anyone craving authentic Persian cuisine!

I visited De Aardige Pers (Saman) restaurant with my family, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The service was not only poor, but the staff’s behavior felt unwelcoming and, frankly, a bit discriminatory. We were treated as though we didn’t belong there, which made the entire atmosphere uncomfortable. Dining out should be a pleasant experience, but here, we felt the opposite. I hope the management takes feedback seriously and works on improving both their service quality and their attitude towards all customers, regardless of background.

Our experience with the restaurant was very bad. We entered as a family, and from the first moment, we felt unwelcome. The staff's behavior was extremely rude. They placed the plates in a messy manner, and brought the drinks and placed them on the edge of the table without distributing them. What was even more evident was that this behavior began after they learned we were from a Gulf country, and this is completely unacceptable! Respectful treatment has nothing to do with nationality, and everyone should be treated with the same level of respect. You're supposed to go to a restaurant to eat and enjoy the food, not to have the most basic rights of respect denied to you! What happened to us is completely unacceptable, and I wouldn't recommend anyone repeating the experience.

The service was inattentive, the food was of poor quality, and the overall atmosphere was unpleasant. The service was inadequate, the portion of rice was very small, and overall, the hospitality and service were extremely poor. I cannot recommend this restaurant at all.

The staff was very nice, but the food was not of good quality at all. We ordered pea pilaf with fish and chicken and shrimp stew, all three of which were not of good quality. For example, the fish was not fully cooked and it was difficult to remove a piece from it. The shrimp was not fully cooked and the chicken smelled of turmeric. Of course, they have very delicious doogh. It was our first time eating here and maybe this time the quality of the food was so low.

Delicious food, friendly service, and large portions! We were hesitant at first because of some reviews about the friendliness of the staff, but we're glad we did. Service was fast, and everything was on the table quickly, which was nice considering the 1.5-hour shift. The only improvement: they would have liked to visit the table more often. Because of this, we ordered fewer drinks than we intended (making eye contact was also a bit difficult). Otherwise, a great experience; we'll definitely be back!

We had dinner here on a Friday night. The food was really delicious, the bread with white cheese, herbs and walnuts, the kebabs, the dips and the rice. But the service was really disappointing. When we entered, everyone was looking at their phones. There was no smile and it took a long time for the dessert menu to come and the dessert order (faloodah and saffron ice cream, also really fantastic!) to be taken. I almost felt embarrassed to ask for something. Such a shame! If I had felt a bit more welcome, this would have been a 10/10 experience. Now the feeling is more mwah.
