Second time here after some years, food was ok noting special competed to other Persian restaurants in Amsterdam. Bit disappointed that the ordered dishes didn’t mach te pictures on the card. I think that’s not what ok. Would love to give more stars on the atmosphere but it’s a bit disempowered to whit those big windows whit no drawings. A more Persian atmosphere would be better. In Iran the restaurants have nicer interiors.

We celebrated Yalda Night at Saman Restaurant, and everything was absolutely perfect. From the warm and respectful hospitality, accompanied by delightful Yalda-themed surprises and treats, to the incredibly delicious dishes that reminded us of the nostalgic flavors of traditional Iranian homes. The desserts, including saffron ice cream and carrot juice with ice cream, were exceptional. After many years, we finally experienced an outstanding Iranian restaurant, and we will certainly return. I highly recommend visiting this place to enjoy a memorable evening with your loved ones.

Comparing to the other restaurants that I’ve been to this one wasn’t the best. Food was okay.

We enjoyed the starter, fresh green vegetables with olives, walnuts and feta cheese . The main dish and dessert also were wonderful but in compare of Hamburg the portions were quite smaler and more expensive.

Went there for dinner with a couple of friends . Really nice flavours and the quantity was also quite sufficient. We tried the saffron rice dish with orange peels and chicken thigh. Kebabs and the pistachio ice cream-faloodeh desert were also great.

Saman restaurant was a wonderful experience! I have tried different Iranian food in my travels to more than 10 countries, but I have never found Iranian food as delicious and excellent as here. We had spinach plum stew, leaf kebab and pounded kebab, everything was fresh and amazing. Their staff are very friendly and kind. I came here from Germany and my friend from America, and we were really happy with our choice. If you are in Amsterdam, definitely visit here, you won't regret it!

We had the mixed grill platter, and it was delicious, but the service was not great. I felt like the staff were not very enthusiastic, and the order took a long time. Overall, though, the food was good and worth trying.

It's a family restaurant. The food was great. Staff super friendly and nice. Ambience wonderful. We had Kabab Kubideh and I have to say we were thrilled. They also brought us an appetizer at the table So the homemade bread was very, very tasty 😋 my children and I loved it. Dugh (Ayran) Original Persian was very delicious. So if you want to have original Persian and delicious food here in the middle of Amsterdam, you've come to the right place. We say thank you

I had never tried Persian food, a friend who is learning Farsi took me and it really was one of the best dinners I have had in a long time! Such interesting flavours, the meat stews perfectly soft and cooked and the portions quantities were not too small/ not too big. Also the saffron ice cream was amazing! Will definitely come again! I gave four points because of koobideh ,I think koobideh could have been better. But baghali polo with mahicheh was excellent. The sekamjebin saffron drink was great, you must try it. Obs. Many tables were reserved, it is better to reserve a table before leaving. Very difficult to finde parking place.

This is a significant oversight that could pose a risk to diners, especially those with mobility issues or in low light conditions. The appetizers were disappointing. The simple salad of tomatoes, cucumbers, and onions was fresh but unremarkable. The one-year aged fermented garlic, despite sounding interesting, didn't really impress in terms of flavor. The yogurt with mint was just average. They did offer a complimentary plate of white cheese, olives, mint leaves, and walnuts, which was a nice gesture but pretty standard fare. The mix of dips that followed was similarly mediocre. There was an eggplant mash, a potato salad, and some unidentified dip with red sauce. None of these really stood out, and the lack of clear descriptions on the menu didn't help. The saving grace of the meal was the mixed grill. This main course showed that the kitchen does have some skill, especially when it comes to grilled meats. The various meats were well-cooked and had good flavor, which was a marked improvement over the starters. The two-star rating reflects the inconsistency of the experience and the safety concern at the entrance. While the grilled dishes were good, they weren't quite enough to make up for the lackluster appetizers, dips, and the potentially hazardous step at the entrance. The restaurant seems to put most of its effort into the main courses, leaving other areas lacking. Saman is an okay choice if you're specifically craving Persian grilled meats in Amsterdam. However, don't expect to be wowed by the entire menu, and do watch your step when entering. First time having Persian food and this place was great

We recently visited this restaurant for the second time and I must say, it exceeded all our expectations as last year ! We were greeted with warmth and hospitality. The food was absolutely delicious like the previous time. The ambiance was inviting and cozy, making it a perfect place to enjoy a meal with friends or family.

My first time eating Persian food and the food is good! We asked for some advice and they were very kind to explain some of the things. Keep in mind it is a bit of a loud environment and that the place doesn’t have a lot of seating but I managed to make a reservation the same day.

Went here for dinner last weekend. We were with adults and children. To our great surprise, nothing was ready. We had to grab the high chair ourselves and push the chairs around, while the staff at the back at the bar were busy on their cell phones. Because it is a small restaurant you expect personal attention, but on the contrary very disinterested staff. Food was also very little and mediocre. Bad thing!

The good taste of Iranian food. My suggestion is Kobideh kebab and Soltani kebab .

When we entered the restaurant, a very unfriendly employee suddenly came and refused us entry. The reason was that we arrived 3 minutes before the restaurant opened. The lady looked very unwashed and looked very unhealthy. So we had the opportunity to visit a much nicer restaurant in the city.

I went to this restaurant last night, the food was delicious, I suggest you definitely try Fesenjun, the atmosphere is warm and quiet, and the staff was very respectful and polite.

I had dinner at this restaurant two weeks ago. We ordered chelo va mahiche and alu esfenaj khoresht, which were cold, bland and of poor quality. As a starter we ordered kashke bademjan, which didn't taste bad, but the quantity was very small compared to the price. For dessert we ordered saffron faludeh and bastani faludeh, which were very poor quality and there was a huge amount of ice cream that we couldn't eat. atmosphere of the restaurant was good. The behavior of the staff was reasonable. Overall I don't recommend this restaurant and I will never eat in this restaurant again👎🏻

The food was great, the staff was kind

Very friendly service and relaxed atmosphere. I found the food quite bland in taste. For starters we had kashke bademjan and kokoo sabzi. The first one had a very bland taste and in the kookoo the parsley was far too overpowering. The same applied to the main course, gheymeh bademjan. The kabab had a good taste but quite dry. The dessert was delicious. The saffron ice cream was spectacular. All in all somewhat disappointing. I am a great fan of Persian cuisine and especially the rich lemon components were completely absent here, something that is so characteristic of Persian cuisine. Shame.

The worst and again the worst Iranian restaurant I have ever been to, the kebab is white and tasteless, the battered kebab is awful, we ordered the boneless chicken kebab, which was fried chicken thigh. They didn't go, I won't go anymore

My visit was recent. In terms of size, kababs were halved. Kabab barg had a sweet taste. Went to the toilet, but the door wouldn't close. Not worth repeating for me. wish you much success. Not recommended. Food became too expensive, quality of kebabs deteriorated, portions became small. Toilets have defects. Staff lacks customer friendliness.

The BEST IRANIAN RESTAURANTS in the NL, I have visited many of them and based on how clean and nice the environment is this place is the best (at least in Amsterdam), the food was also very nice and fresh. We ate a lot and enjoyed it to the fullest. Aside from the food we ordered we also got some noon panir sabzi, and the bread was warm, which was great! We got a Bakhtiari, a Vaziri, mast moosir, torshi, and two drinks and paid around €65.

So far, it is the best Iranian restaurant I went to in Amsterdam. Especially the service of basil and fresh bread and cheese that they bring for appetizers is extremely delicious.

Ooff. That was a tough one. 1) I emailed the restaurant saying I was looking forward to having my girlfriends 30th birthday dinner there because I love Persian food but it's so hard to find a restaurant serving it well. The website looks great and the dishes authentic. So I complimented on this. Never got any reply. 2) When we arrived we did not get welcomed but both waitresses simply walked by. When eventually one of them came to ask, the lack of interest was everything but how Persian hospitality is. 3) We took a seat outside since it was a warm day. It took over 25 minutes for the waitress to take our order. Once the order was made she came back saying that the dish I ordered was sold out. This of course can happen. But the lack of interest was moving leaning towards rudeness. 4) It took 15 minutes to get our food served. One dish was luke warm with cold beans in it. The other was lava hot. Aka the microwave didn't do it's work properly. We also got a side dish that we didn't order. 5) Nobody came over to check in with us while we were eating. I had to signal the waitress vividly to pay. When I said the microwave didn't work she apologized. When I said that we did not order the side dish and therefor didn't touch it, she said it was a gift. Would have been nice to know before hand. Overall: What a disaster. We are used to Amsterdam service being truly poor. But Persian? This place gives the warm, kind, gentle, hospitable people of Iran with one of the most amazing cuisines in the world, a truly bad name. What a shame.

Saying the table is reserved even though it's not, is disrespectful! I'm saying cuz I was the last hour customer and all the tables were marked "Gereserveerd" and nobody showed up for any of the reserved tables. The waitress gave us a table in the warmest area on a warm weather day even though all the other so-called reserved tables were close to the AC.

The rice was undercooked and made by low quality basmati rice. The Koobideh was burnt with an unpleasant odor. The Shishlik was disappointing, though the Joojeh was passable. We ordered doogh, but instead of being freshly prepared, they simply poured bottled doogh into a jar. To top it off, they didn’t even provide sumac, which is a key accompaniment for kebabs. Kashke bademjoon was good but without mint inside and served with Tortilla bread, not even the persian bread! Unfortunately, the staff seemed a bit distant and didn’t offer much of a smile.

Although the food was good, the employees weren't nice and didn't behave well towards us, which I think is bad.

Friendly staff and high quality Iranian kebabs

I recently visited Saman Restaurant, hoping for an authentic Iranian dining experience. Unfortunately, the food was rather average and didn't quite meet my expectations. The dishes lacked the depth of flavor and authenticity that one would expect from an Iranian restaurant. I was expecting traditional Iranian bread but was surprised to receive tortilla bread instead! While the presentation was decent, the taste fell short, and the overall experience was underwhelming. Additionally, I experienced a very long waiting time although there were available tables which they could accommodate us immediately! This was only because we arrived 15 minutes late for my booking, which added to the inconvenience.

First we had a waiting outside although we had reserved the table for 9. We had soltani, vaziri and fesenjun. Kebab quality was under average. Fesenjun was was not malas based on what they said when I asked. The chicken in it was so small, tasteless and basically like three pieces of juje which seemed to be added just before they served it. They seemed to have added flour to fesenjun to make it thicker and that one ruined the original taste of it. As starter we had kash bademjun which was doodi so best part of the night, the portion was good. But originally it is not served with kahoo and goje, so it was a bit strange. Salad shirazi was tasteless without any ab ghoore or salt, and wasn’t fresh at all. We had ash reshte which was basically some hoboobat in tap water with potato rande shode to make it thicker which didn’t even serve their purpose! It was horrible and ruined my taste about the food as the taste was awful and seemed like they have just prepared it in 5 minutes which is a shame, no reshte and no kashk at all, a complete disaster, nothing to do with the real ash reshte! It was like a soup in thickness. I don’t quite understand the high rating of this restaurant and I think it doesn’t reflect the quality at all. The waiters were two girls not really friendly and seemed to not like their jobs so at the end they told us to leave because they wanted to close the restaurant. By the way the music was also not selected well enough for the environment. They disappointed me, and I don’t recommend it at all. Just if you would like to get the good feeling of noon panir sabzi and kash bademjun doodi, and good doogh, you can stop by and remember that the quality of the bread is also not what you would expect, it is not Persian naan and looks like white flat Tortilla. The pictures of ash reshte were not the thing I got. Although you can’t guess the taste and soup texture of it in the pictures. I hope my review can help people in making better decisions about eating here. At least they know what they can expect

We were regular customers here, but today we noticed that grilled mix meat is not same ! 2 Kebabs were overcooked and meat was so hard to chew, and it was very salty 🥲. We told to waitress, she didn’t care. I think they changed the chef 👨‍🍳 or they sold this business. Will not come again.
