We had a great time here! The food was amazing, especially the fish stew. Also the interior of the restaurant feels really homey. We tried a lot of dishes and flavour combinations that we never tried before, which we really liked. Would definitely recommend!!

I ate here a while ago; the food was good, but unfortunately, there were a number of Iranians who were not gay-friendly, and we were bullied away. If you live in Amsterdam, be prepared that different kinds of people live here! Please do something about this and pay attention to your customers' details so that they will feel safe.

I gave it five stars because I am a restaurateur myself, of course Italian. 1. Take care of the toilets, both cleanliness and mess 2. Good service and kind and polite staff 3. The food was actually OK but not great, in fact it was 3 out of 5 why? The rice was chicken grain and the kebab was soft and tender if you eat it quickly but hard after 15 minutes. And the meat was chewy and the leaves smelled like shit 4. The prices were not reasonable, it was at or close to the price of leaves and shish kebab, of course it doesn't hurt but it was interesting. Good luck, but still, if I come to Amsterdam, I will come again.

Very dissatisfied! Service 0! Waited 25 minutes for someone to come take our order. And that was even done by signing our own name. Ordered a starter that was from a can with warmed-up tortillas! I am Persian myself, so I definitely know the difference between fresh food and canned food. Very disappointed! Ordered the grill mix as a main course and the meat was very tough! Had to chew hard! The chicken breast was just thin pieces of chicken thighs. Only the koobideh was good. The staff member was busy with everything, mostly on their phones. I am never coming back. Manoto restaurant is a 3-minute walk away and is much better!

De Aardige Pers (Saman) is a hidden gem for those seeking genuine Iranian flavors. The meal began perfectly with a traditional starter of fresh herbs, cheese, walnuts, and olives served with warm, fresh naan. The Triple Mix appetizer is a must-order; the Kashke Badenjan, Kookoo Sabzi, and Mirza Ghasemi were all expertly seasoned and offered a great variety of smoky and herbal notes. For the main, the Baghali Polo with lamb shank was standout; the rice was fragrant with dill and the lamb was incredibly tender, falling right off the bone. The service is warm and hospitable, living up to the restaurant's name. While the space is cozy and can get crowded, the food quality is top-tier for the price.

My experience at this restaurant was very disappointing. Unfortunately, the service was extremely poor and the staff did not seem professional. The waiting time was quite long, and there was a clear lack of attention to customers. Based on the ratings and other reviews, I expected a much better experience. I hope the management takes these issues seriously and works on improving the quality of their service.

For starters, we were served two pieces of warm bread along with a plate of fresh herbs, cheese, and walnuts, which were very nice and refreshing. We ordered Ash Reshteh, which in my opinion was just average. We also had the Sultani Kebab — the koobideh was good, but the barg kebab had a flavor similar to organ meat (like lamb’s liver and heart), which wasn’t very appealing.

A special thank you to Mahla and Ghazal, who made the experience even more pleasant with their attentive and friendly service. The food is simply perfect. The chelo kebab koobideh is outstanding, full of flavor and cooked exactly right. The joojeh is equally excellent, tender and delicious. The rice is beautifully prepared, fluffy and aromatic, just as it should be. And the fresh sabzi really completes the meal and adds to the authentic experience. If you are looking for authentic Persian cuisine in a calm, refined setting, this place is a gem. Highly recommended — we will definitely be coming back 😁

I ate here a few days ago, but unfortunately, it was disappointing. My partner's food arrived on time, but my dish was still raw and had to be sent back to the kitchen. I received a polite apology, but it took another 20 minutes or so for my food to arrive. By that time, my partner was already finished, and I was left eating alone. That takes away from the pleasant atmosphere a bit. We were already almost ready to leave and pay the bill, so that wasn't the problem. However, it didn't feel comfortable that the staff came to ask us to pay because the table was reserved for others. Especially since the delay was caused by the kitchen, I had expected a bit more understanding and a different attitude. Additionally, I felt pressured to eat my food quickly, whereas I just wanted to eat in peace. In the end, I didn't even finish my food and had it packed up to take away. Hopefully, this will be handled better in the future so that guests feel welcome and can enjoy their meal at their leisure.

Excellent food and service. My wife and I have tried Persian food at many restaurants across Europe and the U.S., and we both agreed that this is, hands down, one of the very best. The food, specialty Persian drinks, and desserts were amazing, and the service was outstanding. We will certainly be back the next time we visit Amsterdam. They also had a beautiful Sofreh Haft Seen in celebration of Nowrouz.

We had a delicious meal and friendly service. We hadn't made a reservation, but fortunately we were still able to get a table on a Wednesday around 7:30 PM.

I've been to this restaurant several times, and this is the second time I've gotten a stomach bug after eating barg kebab. The meat was clearly spoiled: it was past its sell-by date and smelled so bad it was practically inedible. I find it deeply concerning that the health of customers is apparently not being taken seriously. It feels like they're only concerned about money and not about the people who come to eat here. I will never return and certainly won't recommend this restaurant to others. I will also file an official complaint so no one else has to go through the same thing.

The staff was very rude: they looked sour and were more focused on their phones than serving guests. We sat in the back of the restaurant, where the smell of the restroom was clearly noticeable, which made the meal anything but enjoyable. Regarding the food itself: the lamb was extremely tough and tasted more like rubber than tender meat. The triple mix was small and of very poor quality – definitely not recommended. I also advise against ordering bread instead of rice. The "bread" turned out to be just a reheated tortilla, which is completely inappropriate for Persian cuisine. All in all, there was nothing authentic about this restaurant, and certainly no reason for us to return.

Delicious food, friendly staff, good portions, and good value for money. One small point of feedback: The reheated wraps are a bit disappointing. Choose some good Iranian bread instead, and bring the bread in a basket instead of a disposable paper plate. It just looks so cheap, which is a shame.

A very bad experience. We were here on New Year's Eve. The baghali polo with mahiçe was served with old, tough, and clearly very low-quality meat. The €38 kebab koobideh was extremely poor and not worth the price at all. The kashk-e bademjan was tasteless and tasted more like mirza ghasemi than the original dish. The portions were very small. In addition, one of the staff (a woman) was extremely rude and unprofessional. I absolutely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone.

We visited this Iranian restaurant while on holiday in Amsterdam, as we were specifically looking for Persian food. When we arrived, the restaurant was very busy, and although we were eventually given a table, the overall organisation was poor. Service was extremely slow. We were told that service would take around 30 minutes, but both ordering and receiving the food took much longer than expected. There were clearly not enough staff to handle such a crowded restaurant — one or two people serving was simply not enough. Even when we wanted to pay, we had to actively look for someone to come and help us. Unfortunately, the food was also disappointing. As an Iranian, I have to say the kebab was not tasty at all. The barg kebab, in particular, was very strange — both in size and flavour — and not something I have ever experienced before in Persian cuisine. Overall, between the slow service, lack of staff, and disappointing food quality, the experience did not meet expectations. Sadly, it was not a place I would return to or recommend.
