My favourite places for authentic Persian food! The grilled chicken thighs are my absolute favourite, super tender, full of flavour, and served with saffron rice. The pomegranate juice is delicious, and the saffron beer is definitely worth trying too. The desserts are also really nice, and everything feels genuinely authentic. On top of the great food, the service is lovely and welcoming. A wonderful place for a relaxed meal with authentic flavours and friendly service. Highly recommended! I would only suggest to keep the lights darker so you can have a cosier atmosphere.

Wow! Such an amazing experience, great fast service and the food is outstanding! I had a stewed chicken with orange and pistachio rice—total feast for the taste buds! And a delicious saffron ice cream for dessert! Can’t wait to come back, and try everything else on the menu!

Overall, not great. They refuse to serve tap water, and charge obscenely expensive prices for all drinks (including bottled water). There's no towels in the restroom. They refused to provide a new spoon after the first one was used for the soup course. The food itself was incredibly bland, bordering on tasteless. When paying the bill, they attempted to coerce us into leaving a tip. We won't return.

I found the food delicious and very polite people l loved them, good atmosphere, we enjoyed it alot. We come back again.

The staff is not very hospitable and seems unable to take the time to make you feel welcome. The starter, kashke bademjan, and the tortilla bread were not freshly made and had an unpleasant aftertaste. The ghormeh sabzi was well prepared, but unfortunately, the rice and beans were undercooked.

Kebabs were fine. Rice was not enough. Stews were quite average. Atmosphere was very nice. Waitresses were a bit soulless and they were not smiling at all.

Tonight we were guests of Saman's kind children. The food was amazing, the environment was warm and friendly, and finally, Saman's kind and warm-blooded Iranian children had a wonderful and happy surprise for us on the occasion of my dear wife's birthday. I would like to thank Saman's charming, warm, friendly and kind family from the bottom of my heart for the happy moments they gave us.

I was looking for an authentic Persian restaurant in Amsterdam that also serves halal food, and De Aardige Pers (Saman Restaurant) was exactly what I was hoping for. The food was absolutely spot on; authentic, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. It genuinely reminded me of the food I had when I visited Iran, which made the experience even more special. If you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine that is halal, I highly recommend this place. Delicious food and a true taste of Iran. I will definitely be coming back!

Terrible experience and felt like a complete rip off. We were a group of 12 and they charged us for an extra mixed grill and several side dishes we never ordered, then insisted we had ordered them. After we paid, they refused to give us an itemized receipt, saying it was “too late.” They also served completely cold coffee and refused to replace it. Very dishonest and disappointing. Avoid.

Im trying this for the first time and I have to say they have a wide menu with lots of options. The plates are satisfying and big portioned. I really liked the new taste this cuisine has. Staff are very friendly and helpful

Two weeks ago, we made a reservation and dined at their place for my birthday. It was one of the best kebabs I have ever eaten. The service was fantastic and the flavors were delicious. Authentic Persian cuisine with high-quality food and wonderfully warm, friendly staff. We were welcomed with noon panir sabzi, a traditional combination of bread, cheese, and fresh herbs, which was a lovely touch. We tried several different kebabs, and they were all juicy, tender, and full of flavour. Definitely recommended!

Amazing food! The kebabs tasted just like the ones back home in Iran, authentic and full of flavor. The interior design is beautiful, well thought out, and feels just right without being overdone. I also loved the calm instrumental Persian music playing in the background; it created such a relaxing atmosphere. Overall, it was a fantastic experience. Definitely one of the best Persian restaurants I’ve been to in Europe. Highly recommended!

Amazing Persian food Friendly staff 10/10

As an Iranian, I wanted to introduce my foreign friends to Iranian cuisine, so I came up with the idea of making a reservation for three people here. Upon entering the rather empty restaurant, nobody greeted us, and the waitstaff were extremely arrogant and unwelcoming, which is completely contrary to Iranian culture and hospitality. After about 10 minutes, they finally brought us the menus, again with the most unwelcoming expressions. Instead of asking whether we wanted any drinks or if we needed anything else, the two waitresses simply played on their phones. We therefore decided to leave and go to an actual Persian restaurant to restore the first impression of my country and its people for my friends.

Last night we had dinner at Saman Restaurant It was a unique experience of kebabs and warm Iranian hospitality🙏🏻🙏🏻

I honestly don't know why it got such a high rating. First of all, the bread is market bread, not fresh bread. Secondly, it doesn't have the true Iranian flavor.

I ate here a while ago; the food was good, but unfortunately, there were a number of Iranians who were not gay-friendly, and we were bullied away. If you live in Amsterdam, be prepared that different kinds of people live here! Please do something about this and pay attention to your customers' details so that they will feel safe.

I gave it five stars because I am a restaurateur myself, of course Italian. 1. Take care of the toilets, both cleanliness and mess 2. Good service and kind and polite staff 3. The food was actually OK but not great, in fact it was 3 out of 5 why? The rice was chicken grain and the kebab was soft and tender if you eat it quickly but hard after 15 minutes. And the meat was chewy and the leaves smelled like shit 4. The prices were not reasonable, it was at or close to the price of leaves and shish kebab, of course it doesn't hurt but it was interesting. Good luck, but still, if I come to Amsterdam, I will come again.
