Persian Parsa Restaurant in Da Costabuurt

Absolutely do not go to this restaurant and do not recommend it to anyone.

I was looking for a good restaurant in Amsterdam and Google Maps led me to the nearest one: Restaurant Parsa. In hindsight, I would have been better off eating at McDonald’s on the way than ever stepping inside. The food was really bad and the prices were high as well. We were quite embarrassed in front of our Dutch friends. There was also a rather arrogant waitress working there. Although she claims to have only lived in the Netherlands for a year, she talks and acts as if she knows everything better. We have lived in the Netherlands for 35 years and almost felt as if we had lived somewhere in Africa all that time.

I ate the kebab with rice, but unfortunately I got food poisoning and had diarrhea and fever for over a week... Not recommended.

Verrrrry disappointing experience. We waited about 1 hour and 40 minutes for our food. The food was below average. I only ordered a Chenjeh kebab and a doogh, my bill came to €35, which felt overpriced for the quality and service provided. We also ordered Mast-o-Khiar, and the staff brought bread without informing us that it would be charged separately. Later, we found out they had charged €2 for each piece. The music was unpleasant, and overall this was the worst Persian restaurant experience I've had in Europe. I would not recommend it.

The quality of the food had become very poor, and the food seemed stale.

We had clearly asked if the Adas Polo could be used instead of saffron rice, and we were told that this was no problem. When settling the bill, it suddenly turned out that everything was calculated separately, resulting in a much higher price. This was not clearly indicated beforehand. Otherwise, we might have chosen something else. Frankly, we find this very unfortunate and disappointing. Due to this experience, we will unfortunately not be returning.

I visited this Persian restaurant on my first day in Amsterdam because I wanted to enjoy Persian food and feel a little closer to my hometown while traveling. Unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing. I ordered Soup Jo, but the taste was awful. When I told the server, instead of offering a proper solution or replacing it, she simply added some water to the soup and brought it back to me. After that, I didn’t even touch it anymore, but I was still charged for it at the end. When we tried to speak with her about the bad service and explain how uncomfortable the experience was, her phone rang and she answered it in the middle of our conversation. I found that extremely rude and unprofessional. As a customer and a tourist, I expected at least basic respect and proper service, especially from a Persian restaurant where I hoped to feel welcomed. Sadly, the food and customer service were both very disappointing. I would not recommend this place.

I had an extremely disappointing experience at this restaurant. We came here as tourists and were honestly shocked by the level of service and food quality. The soup tasted very bad and old, and when we mentioned it to the lady working there, instead of handling the situation professionally, she took it away and brought it back watered down. That was honestly unacceptable. When we told her that we should not be charged for something that clearly tasted old and unpleasant, her response was that if it had been untouched, she could have taken it back. That answer was very concerning. Where we live, even if a customer sits at a table and does not touch the glass, the entire table setup is changed before another customer is served. So how is it acceptable to take food back from a customer and potentially treat it as something that could be served again? On top of that, her attitude was extremely rude and careless. She was mostly on her phone and speaking on calls instead of paying attention to customers. There was no proper customer service, no apology, and no effort to fix the issue. The owner should really pay more attention to how customers are treated here. As a tourist, this was a very bad experience, and as someone who shares reviews and experiences online, I will definitely be speaking about this. I would not recommend this place at all.

I visited this restaurant three years ago, and the food was excellent. I repeated the experience, but unfortunately, this time the service was very bad and slow. There was only one employee doing everything and serving the entire place, so he forgot orders and was late. The food quality was also very poor. We ordered the "wazeeri" (a type of meat dish), but we couldn't eat it. The meat was tough and tasted stale. As for the "kobeeda" (a type of bread), which used to be their best, it was very bad this time—dry. The biggest shock was the bread! It was burnt, stale tortilla bread! This same restaurant used to serve freshly baked bread! I absolutely do not recommend going to this restaurant.

The information on the menu regarding the food itself (contents) was also poor, and I was served the wrong dish. When I asked about it, they charged me extra for the menu I had already paid for. They were not sufficiently hygienic either; the glasses smelled bad and seemed unwashed. Definitely not recommended!

The glasses weren't clean; we asked and they replaced them. However, the prices on their menu didn't match the receipt, and they didn't admit it was their mistake. Also, the food wasn't like an authentic Iranian meal. With all due respect, I hope they improve their service.

The food was good, but behavior of the lady working there was not welcoming or friendly at all. We were the only customers in the restaurant, yet we were guided to a table right next to the kitchen, without being given any choice. Throughout our entire meal, there were constant loud and disturbing noises coming from the kitchen, which made the experience uncomfortable. The most disappointing part was when we were leaving. We thanked her and said goodbye, but she did not even look up, was busy on her phone, and responded without making any eye contact. This kind of behavior is not professional and does not reflect a responsible or respectful approach to customers.

If you’re looking for authentic Persian cuisine, this place is an absolute must-visit. The food is packed with flavor and prepared with incredible care. I highly recommend trying the kebabs; the meat was perfectly tender and seasoned to perfection. The saffron rice was light and aromatic, exactly how it should be. Beyond the food, the service was exceptionally warm and attentive, making the whole dining experience very special. The atmosphere is cozy and inviting, perfect for a nice dinner. Great value for money considering the high quality of the ingredients. A true 5-star gem!

The food was acceptable, but our Baghalipolo and its meat were not warm enough; it felt like they had been reheated in a microwave. The side dish, Zeyton Parvarde, didn’t taste like the typical version. Another point was that we were charged for every item, even a single piece of bread, while most restaurants offer bread free of charge.

As an Iranian, and trying Parsa for the first time, I can confirm that it is authentic and worthy to try out! The whole staff including the owner were exceptional and great service was provided! Definitely worthy to go there again.

Avoid at all costs. The rice was very dry. They did not even bother to serve it with butter. I ordered Jujeh and it tasted like cardboard and was low quality. I was overcharged for a small piece of extra bread and an onion! Terrible place. Try other Persian restaurants. Very stingy.

As a Persian food lover I absolutely recommend this restaurant in Amsterdam. It’s the best one on the city and the staff is super friendly. The quality of the food is excellent (my Persian friends approved ☺️) They also plug perfect music, perfect for every occasion 😉

We visited with a large family group of 15. The ambience was pleasant and the food was generally good, but the overall experience was mixed. Service was average, with several order mistakes that were a little frustrating. Incorrect drinks were brought and opened by the waitress meaning we were charged before the correct ones were ordered, and it was unclear whether these were adjusted on the final bill. Some dishes were disappointing, particularly the noodle dish which lacked flavour and actual noodles as it was mainly beans and sauce. The side salads were quite sparse. The meats and rice were delicious and enjoyable. Overall, it was an average experience and I would try here again.

Everything was awful. The rice tasted old, the koobideh kebab was burnt, the kashk-e bademjan clearly tasted canned, and the chicken kebab was undercooked. The bread served with the kashk-e bademjan was tortilla bread, and one of them was completely burnt. The appetizers were extremely overpriced for such poor quality. I've rarely had such a bad and dishonest experience as at this restaurant. The service is slow, unfriendly, and completely unprofessional. The food arrived lukewarm and tasteless—absolutely poor quality for the money. But the worst part is the misleading pricing. The website shows lower prices, but once you're inside, the menu prices turn out to be higher. And then, when you pay, another extra charge appears on the bill that you weren't informed about beforehand. When I asked the waiter what this was, he simply said he didn't know himself. That's truly outrageous. On top of that, they also try to force you to pay extra as a "mandatory tip," even on top of the already increased amount on the bill. This is pure fraud and completely disrespectful to customers. As if that weren't enough, a waitress repeatedly came by during our meal and rudely took away plates that weren't even empty. This was incredibly disruptive and made me feel like we had to leave as quickly as possible. For these prices, you should expect honesty, transparency, quality, and respect. You won't get any of that here. This restaurant is a definite no-go—I'll never return and advise everyone to avoid it.

We ordered Kebab and soup. The kebab was very delicious and well prepared.Unfortunately, the soup was served completely cold, which was disappointing. The service was not good. The cutlery was brought to us wet after we had to ask for it ,which is not acceptable in a restaurant! Kebab kubide was good but Lubia Polo was really really bad. I couldn't even eat more than 5 spoons! Soup was ice cold. No spoon and fork when they brought the soup and when we asked for them, they provided us with wet spoons.

The quality of the food is not as good as it used to be. Their menu includes photos for each dish, but the food you receive often doesn’t match the pictures. For example, the photo shows tahdig, but when you order the dish, they never include it. The place is small and overpriced. They also play the music far too loud, and it’s only Persian music—some of it doesn’t match the atmosphere at all. When you want to eat, you need a calmer environment; it’s a restaurant, not a club.

We ordered “baghali polo “ with “ mahiche “ , there were 3-4 Baghali inside the rice and they claimed people don’t like it !!!! The meat was not fresh , cold inside and very oily , never go there again !

Last week I ordered an ayran from you, but it tasted like vomit. Serving customers even slightly spoiled milk is unacceptable. Furthermore, the ghormeh sabzi was disappointing; the meat in it smelled bad. That's not how ghormeh sabzi should smell.

I went here and the food quality is quite low. I ordered 1 koobideh kebab, 1 ghormeh sabzi, salad shirazi and 1 doogh. The kebab was quite dry and seemed to not be cooked properly. The rice was dry even after adding butter my throat hurts. The ghormeh sabzi was watery and tasted like it was burnt. The salad was more water then salad. The doogh tastes like water mixed with salt and mint thrown on top and was quite diluted instead of the Original doogh like how they make in Iran. Overall the food was mediocre and I would recommend to go to another Iranian restaurant or something else. Ps I noticed some grammar issues on the menu

EAT SOMEWHERE ELSE, trust me!!!! First off, I called out the waitresses because there was a short hair in my baby's tomato soup. She didn't bother to offer something in compensation or remove it from the bill (the sheer audacity to even charge a customer that). Their plates were dirty and every now and again, you'd get a whiff of mould, and from that I can only image the state of their kitchen (vomit). Regardless, the food is subpar at best. Go somewhere else for Persian food because this joint doesn't have it.

The food quality was not good at all while the price was higher than most of Persian restaurants we’ve been to in Europe which honestly serve way better food. The rice was too oily, the kebab was not soft, the salad and yogurt tasted like they’ve been sitting for a long time in the fridge. Nothing tasted like authentic Persian cuisine, especially the Kashkbademjan. The bread was not any of the Iranian bread types and it was one of those cheap tortilla breads you can find in any supermarket. The waiter asked us if we would like to have Tahdig which usually comes beside the rice in any Persian restaurant and when we got the bill we saw we were charged 20€ for the Tahdig for 2 people. This was a trick because you don’t ask people if you’d like to complement your food with something that costs 10€ per portion, you’d only ask them if it comes complimentary, especially in Persian culture. I understand this is a business and they have to charge you for any item, but if I wanted to add 20€ to my bill, I would have chosen that from the menu. Overall, very bad experience, we ended up paying almost 100€ for 2 people. Won’t recommend.

we were there today, I ordered Adas(lentil) polo, it was bot even 20% close to what i ordered, it maybe had 1pieces of lentils there, was so obvious it was even from 3 or more weeks ago, they just warmed and soaked it into butter my friends also were not happy witb Kebab quality do not recommend it

Nice persian restuarant in Amsterdam. Delicious Hummus and bread and the olive sweet sour salty dish (I forgot the name). The chef was nice enough to make a separate rice dish for vegetarians and it was quite buttery and tasty, with a side of vegetables and cream.

We were here on Saturday. It's a small and cozy place (like most Iranian restaurants in Amsterdam), so reservations are recommended. The staff was super friendly and welcoming. We ordered the chelo kebab koobideh. We ran out of zeytoon parvardeh, but the kebab itself was excellent, truly one of the best I've ever had. Fresh and deliciously juicy. Highly recommended.

The restroom was very dirty and full of flying insects. If the visible hygiene is this bad, the hidden hygiene must be even worse.
