The best Iranian restaurant in the Netherlands. Wonderful Kebabs. Definitely recommend.

This was the several time we ordered food from this restaurant. The koobideh was extremely stale, and the barg kebab was so tough it was inedible. The last time was just as bad, but we thought it might have been a one-time issue. Unfortunately, after ordering again, we are very disappointed and regret our decision. This will be the last time we order from here. Don't waste your money.

Unfortunately we didn't enjoy our dinner at this restaurant. We were disappointed with the quality of the food and service which didn’t reflect the warmth and richness we typically associate with Persian cuisine. The woman (owner) while clearly proud of her establishment and paintings came across as overly rude, complacent and eager to lecture. Her paintings on the wall contributed to a somewhat negative atmosphere. Not recommended!!!

The aubergine side dish was the most delicious. Shared vegetarian dishes for 6 people with wine came to €20 each.

Good to Know: - 📞 Reservation necessary. - 🍽️ Overall, a good Persian restaurant with above-average quality food! - 🍢 Grills and 🍖 mahicheh are delicious! 🔥 - 🥣 Stews, especially 🍛 fesenjan, are not recommended. - 💸 Some side dishes are overpriced, but free salad is included with your meal. - 🚗 Street parking available at around 3€/hour.

The polo mahi dish is amazing! Unbelievably good.

The worst food I have ever eaten

we visited Saturday 14th September and had an absolutely wonderful experience, amazing food, friendly attentive service, and the restaurant decoration is vibrant and authentic. they speak good English which was helpful for us to . I have read the negative reviews and think they must have been mistaken/gone to a different restaurant as we had a variety of food which was all cooked to the highest standard, with good quality ingredients, such as the lamb Tjentje and Fazenjan Chicken which was some of the best food we had ever tasted and the accompanying rice, salad and chips was also perfect, and good portion sizes; thank you for a fabulous evening.

The food was very tasty. We found this restaurant purely by chance and were very impressed with the food. The staff and the chef were extremely hospitable and forthcoming.

[My Dutch review is below]: Shandiez Restaurant has good kebabs! I got the 'Shandiez mix' - it's this plate with 3 different kebabs for two people. As a Persian, I gotta say they were super tender and tasty. For starters, I tried the 'Shirazi salad' which was mm…fine, and the 'Zeetunparwarde' which wasn't really my thing. The staff was friendly, and there's plenty of seating with cool Iranian decorations all around. Parking easy too. Delicious, cozy, helpful, great prices

What a horrible food, Chinjeh kabab was not even edible. The amount of rice was so little and we find out it was actually from leftover, they give only one bread for three orders. I did a big mistake to take my friend with me. It was such a shame. They don't deserve even one star.

We came at 7:30 on a Monday with very little people but they were already out of fries and rice. Thankfully they did have bread, but we were NOT given enough bread for the 3 dishes we ordered. We ordered koobideh, joojeh kabab, and chinjeh, all of these should have had a bread to replace the rice or the price should’ve been decreased to account for the lack of rice/bread. Because of this I have to give the service a low rating although I do think the service was amicable but in a situation like this you should make exceptions.

Koobideh and joojeh kabab was decent but the chinjeh kabab tasted like rubber, do NOT order it. The waiter also told us that there was no rice? How is that possible when that is one of the main part of a Persian dish :/ each dish should have rice coming with it but instead we got leftover rice and a little bit of bread and STILL we had to pay full price. We asked for bread saying that we should be compensated for the amount of rice and bread that came with our food but instead we got charged for it. It is too expensive for what we got. Overall, not a good experience, I do not recommend.

I really liked the food, the flavor was delicious with just the right amount of seasoning (in the photo it looks less than it actually was). It's a great place to take friends, our friends loved it too.

Very poor quality food. I made a few comments about the waiting time for the food and they forgot to bring dishes, the woman was able to take criticism. How the staff treats the customer there is a red flag in itself. I was quite disappointed in the taste but that made me sure to never come back again. The djujeh and kebab were tasteless. The cutlery was dirty, that's really unacceptable. At the other restaurant in Amsterdam the staff is very friendly, social and the food is delicious, they were full so that's why we came here, but that is the last time.

I thought I would come here for a nice meal and enjoy the Persian cuisine, the opposite was true :( fries were soaked in oil as if they had been in the deep fryer for too long and no taste, so in my opinion it was also very cheap or oil that had expired I think that your mediocre quality of food deprives you of the right to call the restaurant as it is called, because with that name you should be one of the best. The woman does not seem hospitable and does not chat, she prefers to stand all the time behind the counter until the food has to be served. Not wanting to pay extra staff may work well for the owner's wallet, but extra staff ensures that the owner or manager has his hands free to pay attention to guests. The interior is outdated to say the least and the furniture could use a lick of paint. It is already a mediocre neighborhood in which the restaurant is located and you will not stand out. If you do not want to make some adjustments soon, unfortunately no one will come anymore. The only thing that had any taste was the soda but yes... it wasn't made by them ^^ The first and the last time for me and probably for many.

The chenjeh and joojeh was tender but a bit tasteless . It could have been marinated maybe better or longer.. the koobideh was nice meaty and not fat if you like more fatty kebab its not that. All in all nice experience and nice owners.

Delicious food. Very pleasant family restaurant. These people deserve more business. I recommend the Fesenjan chicken. You can also sit outside

Very tasty and the staff was also very nice.

Lady serving us was nice and respectful but the service was super slow. It literally took over one hour for 5 kabab dishes to be served. Wasted our time. The kabab was not seasoned well and didn’t taste good. It is halal according to the staff. Not worth the money or the wait.

Low quality food with low hospitality

The three of us had a delicious meal, there was a pleasant atmosphere, very sweet owner and service. Top restaurant, would definitely eat there again.

We ordered takeout of Kopideh and Joje. The Kobideh was tasteless, and the Joje was dry. Overall, I wouldn't recommend it for those seeking delicious food.

We used this restaurant as a caterer for our wedding and it was perfect! Food was delicious, people were friendly and the staff at our location was also very pleased with the level of professionalism and how great everything went! All worries were taken away for us. Perfect!

Tastiest Persian food in Amsterdam and affordable.

we ordered Royal mixed grilled dish ( for two people ) it had one Kabab, one Juje and one Barg with rice, it was really delicious, only the amount of rice was not enough for the amount of grill, if it was more it was perfect. the stuff was really kind and friendly and we really enjoyed. totally recommend it.

The food was very good over there, we tried their mix grill and it was really nice. We also tried their saffron ice cream, it was also really nice

Such a warm welcome and such delicious food and bizarrely affordable. I had dinner here for my birthday and it was so nice! Absolutely recommended, I definitely recommend eating at Shandiez instead of a hip place. The price/quality ratio is very good and it is really about the food, which is always a pleasant experience in Amsterdam

I've had a fair share of Iranian food but the food here blows my mind. I enjoyed each and every bite of it. The koobideh is juicy and the kashke bademjoon is something you eat at an Iranian household. The atmosphere was so cozy I felt like I'm eating in an Iranian household with home cooked food. The lady was nothing but friendly and so accommodating. Reminds me so much of my mother in law. I wanted tea as the finale and asked for an Iranian tea. The lady immediately served us a good Iranian tea. The food was worth the wait as they put all the time, effort and much love to the food. I definitely recommend this restaurant and I would come back again.

This place is amazing The food is so tasty and freshly prepared 😋 we started with a fresh vegetable salad and a warm grilled aubergine salad which were accompanied by warm bread. Then we had huge plates of fish and seafood and offcourse the famous different types of persian kebabs with rice. Everything was cooked perfectly and amazing taste! Parviz and his wife are amazing hosts, that truely display persian hospitality at its best!!! Would come back as often as i can!

Wij hebben vanavond voor het eerst 3 verschillend Perzische gerechten opgehaald bij Restaurant Shamdiz om thuis te eten, , het was fantastisch en erg lekker, service was top en die Dame achter de bar erg vriendelijk met mooie energie , volgende keer schuiven wij graag aan de tafel.

Eindelijk gevonden: een Perzisch restaurant met de originele smaken, wij hebben genoten en kunnen iedereen aanraden om een keer de echte Perzische cultuur op te snuiven en het heerlijke eten: mixed grill, kubideh, salade met brood en mast de mousir en uiteraard douk.

Goed gegeten, de kok is niet de moeilijkste om wat aan te passen aan je eten. Goede prijzen.!

Sitios que descubre uno, dandole una oportunidad casi por casualidad. Sitios bien llevados y organizados que sobreviven con una clientela bien fidelizada y que son dificiles de descubrir, que les gusta hacer las cosas bien por que casi va intrinseco en su moral. Sitios que no quieren mas clientela por que prefieren tratar bien a los que ya tienen sin que se masifique y perder calidad. Esos "sitios".

We did have to wait quite a bit of time for our food (this might be a one off judging by other reviews) but the owner was super nice and the food was absolutely delicious - so well worth the wait. Fantastic food

We had birthday dinner with 10 people and the food was soooo good, everything fresh and delicious, chicken pieces falling off the bone and soft kebabs and side of yogurt, bread. Pretty sure they stayed open longer for us, but didn’t rush us out which was very welcoming to us. One of the best Iranian food in town.

Lekker gegeten! Als Iranier bestellen we altijd kebab omdat we dat zelf thuis niet makkelijk kunnen bereiden. Djudjeh en kubideh gegeten. Vlees was goed op smaak en lekker sappig. Dough er bij en saffraanijs als dessert. Heerlijk!

Best persian food in Amsterdam.

I have been Custemor in Shandiz restaurant for a year. so far so good! Kebabs are nice and tasty always. Packaging are very good. The owners are so humble and friendly. Furthermore, I found there such a cozy place with good quality of all kebabs.

We warden er met lunch, eten was goed en genoeg parkeergelegenheid voor een redelijke prijs, Miraghasemi en hun zafran ijs was top en dus ook aan te raden..

The best Chenje kabab I ate in Europe was made by chef Parviz at this restaurant! Plus the highest level of hospitality! Next time I travel to Amsterdam I will definitely try Perzisch restaurant Shandiez again!
