You really have to come here for delicious Afghan food. I often come here for the delicious tandoori chicken and the indispensable Kabuli Palaw rice. It's also nice that there's no background music. It's a great place for a chat. And it's 100% halal, and they don't serve alcohol. Respect! The staff are also so friendly and unpretentious, I love it.🫡

I visited this restaurant with my partner and we were deeply impressed. The welcome was warm, and the service was meticulous. The menu offered an excellent selection of dishes, all prepared with fresh ingredients. My mushroom risotto was heavenly—creamy, full of flavor, and perfectly seasoned. The atmosphere was intimate, with soft lighting and candlelight on the table. The decor was modern with a touch of classic. The recommended wine paired perfectly with our dishes. The service was prompt but unhurried. Everything ran smoothly and professionally. A place that clearly exudes a passion for food and hospitality.

It's a beautiful, clean restaurant where you can dine in peace. It was my first time eating Afghan food, and I was so pleasantly surprised. Everything was fresh, and each dish had its own unique flavor. The meat was so tender, and the rice was perfectly cooked. I had Bolani as a starter, and for the main course, I had kebab (chicken and lamb) with several types of rice. It doesn't matter what you choose, because it will all be delicious! This was the worst restaurant I have ever been to in my life. The food was zero. The service was zero. I recommend never trying the food at this restaurant.

Unfortunately, I was not satisfied with my visit to this restaurant. The staff was not very friendly, and the service felt impersonal. The quality of the food was also disappointing; it wasn't fresh and certainly not what I expected. Furthermore, the presentation and preparation of the dishes were also poor. All in all, the experience was disappointing, and I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

Unfortunately we ordered the kabab but the rice was raw, and when I told them a very rude treatment it was really bad!! I do not recommend anyone to go there!!!

Although the restaurant officially closes at 10pm, people waited for us until 11pm — that was so special and hospitable! We felt really welcome. We had a delicious meal: the maanto was perfectly filled and full of flavour, the qabuli was rich and fragrant, and the soup was incredibly delicious – warming and flavoursome. The apps were also prepared just right. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. The atmosphere was warm, the staff friendly and respectful. A place where you really feel at home and are spoiled with culinary delights. Thank you very much for this special evening 🙏 – we will definitely be back!

(2) We've only had drinks here as a team in recent months. Special tea in particular has deteriorated in taste in recent times. We also got to try a bottle of yogurt that was said to be sweet but salty. And in the summer months there was the Falooda ice cream but Afghan style: rose water with strawberry syrup, the ice cream itself (nuts were at the bottom of the ice cream) and strings. A whole container full of rose water, so you had to drink it first before you could scoop the hard ice cream. The sweetness ratio was also out of balance: much too sweet. Or is it like that? In the end I paid the top price: €30 each. This removed 1 star. Something like that can be pricey, but it's not that expensive, right? Won't be coming here anymore for a while. ============= (1) They have been open for a while, but it is only in the past 2 months that I have come to eat here a few times as a team. For some reason the food here is not that special. I can't quite figure out what exactly that is. What I do know is that the quality and taste of the food has been variable per visit. You get a lot for your money. And sometimes the food is just a little too bland or too tasty. But not consistently. One of the times the largest mix grill was ordered. You get 3 types of rice, fries and 5 types of meat (unfortunately nothing vegetarian, but I was satisfied with the fries). The meat is very hot and warm at first, but then cools down quickly, so that after 10 minutes you are almost eating raw meat. This is something that has not yet been resolved in several restaurants. A tent you must try once. Friendly young clerk who serves there on his own and runs from left to right when it is busy. Just doesn't work efficiently. That could be better. Cook must be in a good mood and laugh with you. But if he looks angry, it's better not to greet him. Also tried the special tea. Sometimes it has a good taste but sometimes it is too bland. The pani puri also has a special taste (that rose water). In India and Pakistan you have different variants of it, but not here.

What a great place here, first time eating Afghan food and we enjoyed it. Restaurant looked super clean. The service was good. Ordered Mantu and panipuri in advance. Because there were four of us, we ordered a mix kebab. You get a plate with different flavors of rice and lots of meat. Oh yes, don't forget the Dough, a kind of buttermilk with herbs, and drink the Afghan tea after the meal. I will definitely come back again Insallah.

We had reserved a table and we were there at 7:45, we ordered our food and it took more than 1 and 30 minutes for it to arrive and no one said that the food took too long, we found that really annoying. Upon entering I was greeted curtly and immediately asked who would pay. I assumed that payment would be made afterwards, as is usual in most restaurants, but I was stared at until I started paying. This immediately made for an awkward start. The space was extremely small and with about 50 people inside you could hardly move. The buffet itself was downright disappointing: the choice was very limited and nowhere near what was presented on Instagram. On social media, dishes such as Kabuli Palaw with lamb shank, bolani, doogh and borani banjan were showcased and mentioned as part of the iftar menu. It said the offering could vary, but this was not variation—these dishes were completely missing and there was no alternative for what was missing. What was served was scanty and of low quality. The promised Kabuli Palaw actually turned out to be dry, tasteless rice without meat. The only meat was ground beef and small pieces of chicken—the chicken of which was dry, tough, and hard. All in all, this was a very disappointing iftar experience. The misleading promotion, limited choice and poor quality of the food mean that I will not return here again. I would not recommend this restaurant to others looking for an authentic and tasty Afghan iftar.

I came here after a tip from mooncake on Instagram, very friendly service, the concept during Ramadan is great, an unlimited buffet for 38.50, I was too early for iftar (earlier in the day) so you could order a la cart I ordered some dishes, the taste was disappointing, the okra was not my thing, the spinach was not special, the eggplant was good, but not a standout and the chicken was also ok, tender but not a wow effect. I didn't order large kebabs and rice dishes so I can't judge that, even though the gentleman who served was so nice, I don't know if I would come back, I think the tasty Afghan in the shopper hall is tastier and also a bit cheaper, I spent around 39 euros for 4 dishes.

Went here for a delicious iftar, the restaurant has a great atmosphere and upon arrival we were immediately welcomed with dates and water on the table. The food consisted of a buffet with all kinds of delicious Afghan dishes, desserts and unlimited soft drinks, water and tea. The staff is very friendly and we, a group of 9 people, were welcomed with open arms and the staff always had a broad smile. You could see that they prepare the food with all the love. There was also the opportunity to pray! Definitely recommended and I will visit again soon!

Came by spontaneously and were helped well and quickly by staff. Service was smooth and helpful with questions. The food was delicious. Gop Gappe were spicier than we expected, but very tasty. The Kabuli Palaw was a huge portion! Took half of the rice home. We had two chicken dishes, both extremely tasty. Would definitely come back again to try other dishes, highly recommended! For the little eaters among us, I might even order a portion of rice and two dishes. That should be fine for two (we were two women). Especially if you also take starters. It is not a very large restaurant but practically furnished. Clean and tidy toilets available. Hygienic appearance throughout the restaurant!

Even without a reservation, you are always well taken care of and we leave very satisfied. As Afghans we are of course extra demanding and Restaurant Masie exceeds our high expectations time and time again. The richness of Afghan cuisine is well represented in the menu. Even if you are vegetarian or vegan, you can enjoy a delicious meal here with more than enough choice from a varied option of vegetables, rice and dough dishes. Healthy, tasty and the portions are generous! And the deserts, pff, you should definitely not skip them. With delicious Afghan tea. And that in the middle of one of the most beautiful neighborhoods in Amsterdam: Osdorp. With more than enough parking, in a quiet neighborhood where you can also do some relaxing shopping before or after dinner or take a walk in the park to relax. Whether you come with children, friends or colleagues, this is the number 1 place in Amsterdam for an evening out.

I had high expectations for this restaurant after seeing their Instagram videos and photos, but the reality was a complete disappointment. While their social media showcases beautifully presented dishes and elegant plating, in reality, the food was just carelessly thrown onto the plate. The waiter was extremely unfriendly and unprofessional. After taking our order, he never checked back to see if we needed anything else. It felt like we were being ignored the entire time. As for the food, the rice was undercooked, and the mixed grill platter was partly burnt. The description on the menu promised 5 skewers, but we only received 4. When we pointed it out, they pretended it was a mistake, but even after “fixing” it, I didn’t get all the skewers I was supposed to. Overall, this place is all about appearances. Their Instagram and online photos are pure show and completely misleading. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone unless they’re looking for a total letdown.

Been here twice. Once only ordered starters which were tasty. I didn't really understand the panipuri with the chutneys, but in terms of taste it was good. The other dishes were the mantu and ashak (I haven't found any photos of them anymore) Went yesterday for two main courses. We chose the lamb shank with Afghan rice. For 28 euros quite a small portion unfortunately. Taste was very good but lacked a little bit of salt but luckily that was on the table. Meat was very tender, but our lamb shank had a bit too much fat if you ask me. I wasn't full enough. In addition, the chicken kebab where you could choose a side dish. We already had rice and fries, it was so standard (we just wanted to try something new) so we opted for naan. We only got one of those and it was on the drier side. Also thought it was a bit overpriced at 24 euros. Anyway, the chicken kebab tasted good (not wow) and I really liked the chutney, it also went well with the rice. Service was ok. I was fasting and asked for a glass of water to break my fast and he promised to do so but unfortunately I didn't get anything. So I broke my fast with jab. Anyway. Service could have been a bit smoother, but it wasn't a disaster. I would definitely come here again to try new dishes. I am familiar with Indian cuisine and it has many similarities, but Afghani is a little fresher. Overall the food was delicious, but portions could really be bigger for the amount. Update: I was looking forward to the rice with lambshank again so I picked it up. Unfortunately it was very disappointing. Very little meat on the lambshank and a lot of fat. The rice was bland. The carrot and raisins still had a bite that shouldn't be there. Shame. It really costs a lot so I wasn't very happy with it. But last time it was tasty.
