Food and drink are delicious. And a lovely ambiance. Also highly recommend the tepache margarita!

The atmosphere inside was lovely, and the restaurant has a nice setting. However, we were disappointed that most of the main dishes were unavailable for the last service. Coupled with quite slow service, this negatively impacted our experience. We felt that a small gesture to compensate for the major lack of menu options would have been appropriate and appreciated.

Good cocktails, decent Mexican fare, and cozy atmosphere. I'd say the prices are a bit high for the portion sizes but that's my only criticism. Otherwise staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and helpful with what to pick. Location has plenty of street parking (paid) and was quiet for a Saturday night in Amsterdam.

This restaurant has an authentic atmosphere with a personable touch- just like every good cantina should be :) we left the night wishing we could take a margarita to go, still drooling over the tuna tostada, full from the seabass and carnitas tacos, and smiling from our conversations with Eric, our server. The flan was the cherry on top. Thank you!

Food is tasty but were ripped off by the waitress. We gave her a 5 euro tip on a bill of 90 euros. She then charged an additional 5 euros without mentioning it. I saw this too late while I was using my debit card. When I spoke to her about this she asked very surprised if we wanted the extra tip back. We eventually got this 5 euros in 20 cents thrown on the table without any explanation. Really bizarre how bad this service was.

The food, the cocktails and the staff make you come back over and over again

I’ve been looking for a good Mexican restaurant in Amsterdam for a while and this one definitely is! I can highly recommend it to anyone looking for some great authentic Mexican food. And please do not forget about the €5 margaritas until 19:00!

Thursday new margarita day! We tried the chef menu and 100% recommendable, you try almost the whole menu!

As a Mexican living in Amsterdam for many years, I can honestly say this is an amazing authentic place. The food is delicious and their service is great. Staff is super attentive and friendly and the place has a cozy feel to it, they make you feel at home. I cannot say enough how awesome the food is. A must place to go to in Amsterdam!

I’ve been in Mexico for one month, and as a big fan of seafood and tacos, I must say the tuna tostadas brought me right back to Oaxaca. Also, the salmon taco is delicious I would recommend it again!

We had the 5 course tasting menu with extra fish! It was super delicious! The grilled seabass was sososo tasty and the tuna tostada was fantastic! Definitely coming back!

Best flan in my life — and surely in the lives of all the people dining at MasMais Marisqueria

First time in Amsterdam and wanted to try some authentic Mexican food. The best thing is that they have a open kitchen and my brother could see the fish on the barbecue. Aguachile Rojo was definitely out favorite and ordered twice. Service is very welcoming and had a wide variety of drinks. Will definitely go back before leaving!

The food was delicious, our waitress lovely, but the portion size is unforgiveable for the price! In a 2 person sharing meal of 85 euro / 5 dishes, we got one shot-glass-sized flan to share for dessert. Absolutely delicious flan, but common! Won't be going back unfortunately. A "sharing" dish needs to be big enough to be shared. Otherwise, it's just a regular dish you are sharing.

a little bit disappointed by this restaurant as all the good reviews gave me such high hopes! unfortunately, we didn't loveeee the food... the guacamole was underseasoned & eggplant tacos lame :( the chorizo quesadillas were tasty though. also too expensive

I'm a bit surprised how good the reviews are for MasMais. thye have a nice lively terrace which was the highlight of our visit on a summer evening. but the food was rather disappointing. all dishes we got were a bit off - totopos were dry and hard and accompanying guacamole was tasteless, ceviche was tasty but very chilly (which would be ok if it had come with a warning - I like chilly and enjoyed it but my friend could not handle it), the seabass was on the dry side and was served with an unripe avocado slice (which should be a no-no for a mexican restaurant). the drinks were tasty and service was good.

The Marisqueria is a great restaurant if you love fish! We started with some tuna tostada's and classic ceviche, all super fresh, great for a starter, then we had some Pumpkin quesadilla's that where amazing followed by sea bass from the BBQ and some Grilled dorade. This is how a fish should be prepared, easy but super tasty! The combination of flavors in dips that came with the fish was a great finishing touch. The waiter took his time for us despite it was busy and the chef came out of the kitchen to check if we where enjoying the fish. We enjoyed the ambience and food a lot and will be back soon for sure.

we sat outside on the terrace on a warm evening and enjoyed everything from start to finish. The grilled fish were standouts, which were super fresh and flavoursome. Great friendly service, fair prices for the quality of the ingredients, we had a fantastic time! highly recommended.

I visited the Marisqueria with a large group of friends and we enjoyed the food in the sun on the terrace. It was perfect for the sunset! We ordered many options from the menu to share! The Marisqueria surprised me with its rich flavors, combining classic Mexican cuisine with high end gastronomy! I recommend trying everything on the menu!Start with the Ceviche, Tuna Tostada and make sure to get the grilled fish!

Also been here after good experiences with MasMais Taqueria. Friendly staff and the food was really tasty! I was most happy with that tray so that I can do everything myself. Had a very pleasant evening.

The ceviche and tuna tostadas are to die for. Such fresh flavours. The grilled and fried fish dishes are delicious too. Don’t forget to order a Paloma while you are at it.

The food is super good. But the service leaves much to be desired. We were waiting for a taxi after having food and the waiter asked us to leave the place and to wait in the rain outside.

I've been a fan of their first restaurant, the Taqueria, for a long time. Unfortunately, it was only last week that I could eat at their Marisqueria for the first time. Grilled fish and Mexican salsas are the way to go. Amazing place and staff!

Very slow service, good food but overpriced. More like a bistro than a restaurant. Please make your waitresses tie their hair, it is disgusting when the long hair floats around food. Cocktails are great.

Place looks nice and neat. Quiet enough to have a conversation. Food is a bit pricey, but then again it's seafood. However portions are a bit small. What I didn't like is the concept of making your own taco. But some others like it this way probably. I disliked the beer. Ordered one, and it came in a very small cup, of which half was foam. It must have been 150 ml or so of beer. That was disappointing so I did not request more. Service was ok, although a bit slow.

Went here with a friend and had such a great time. We had the chefs menu which initially seemed pricey at 40 a head but we got 5 good size sharing dishes, and when pairing that with €5 Margheritas (every Thursday), it was all incredible value. The food was so good, especially the tuna tostada, but every dish tasted really fresh and well made, plus we sat at the counter which was great to see what's going on. Also, the staff were all amazing, really friendly and helpful. Will be back for the Baja fish tacos and more Margheritas for sure, thanks!!

I can recommend the place. They offer decent Mexican food and drinks. We tried ceviches, tacos and quesadillas, all were good, but I can definitely recommend pumpkin quesadillas - they were beyond my expectations. There is also an interesting selection of traditional tequila-alike Mexican drinks, if you never tried them that’s the place. Atmosphere is good, all neat and clean. The place gets very busy so don’t forget to book your table in advance!

Ah would love to be able to give 5/5 because the food deserves it, every dish was absolutely delicious. Unfortunately it was let down by it taking 45 minutes from seating for the first dish to arrive. Only two people in the kitchen for a busy Saturday isn’t enough!

An asset to the neighborhood. After having been in Mexico for 3 weeks, we dare to conclude that this is really a good Mexican. Friendly staff and good margaritas.

The atmosphere is very cozy and intimate. However, the portions were small and we had to wait for half an hour between the meals. I specifically asked for no coriander and the waiter said there isn’t, but there was and this was quite disappointing for me. Overall, I would go there for a bite or snack, but not full on dinner.

We went there on a Friday evening, staff was a bit in distress but they excused the delays offering an extra beer. Kudos for that. Mex restaurants are always bad value for money as tacos cost a lot and are not filling. That is so everywhere and is no difference here. Dorade and aubergine cost the same, it seems wrong pricing to me. Cocktails are well executed and creative while the wine menu is not appropriate to a marisqueria. A better air ventilation would be welcome as clothes smell like food when out. All in all a good experience but there is room for improvement.

I think it's the most special restaurant in the area. Prices are a bit high (think about 50€ per person with a drink) but the food is so fresh and yummy. Great variety of cocktails also

Superleuk nieuw restaurant! Ze hebben er vernieuwende cocktails en heerlijk eten, leuk om te delen. De lage bar aan de open keuken is een fijne plek als je alleen bent, maar er zijn ook genoeg tafels. Leuke inrichting en hele aardige en oplettende bediening. Hier kom ik zeker terug! 👌

Tuvimos una buena experiencia “a secas” El sabor de los mariscos fue bueno, pero para ser un restaurante de concepto latinoamericano de mariscos, le hizo falta agregarle su “sal, limón y chile” y definitivamente incrementar el tamaño de las porciones. Las bebidas fueron lo que más disfrutamos. Para locales o lugar de una sola experiencia está bien, pero deja mucho que desear para una mexicana que nació en la costa del Pacífico. El servicio fue amable solo que desde un inicio parecía que nos pusieron a contrarreloj, avisándonos que comenzaría a correr nuestro espacio de dos horas. Nos lo mencionaron 3 veces, creo que con una vez hubiera sido suficiente. Del precio, pues, nos cobraron hasta las tostadas… Por favor agradeceríamos también para futuros comensales, que sus menús estén actualizados, ya que hubo algunas cosas que no estuvieron disponibles o estuvieron discontinuadas.

Update november '23. We went for the mezcal tasting collab with derrumbes. It was excellent. The mezcal was delicious and it was really interesting how different the different types tasted and paired with the food. Speaking of the food this was as excellent as last time. Again we particularly enjoyed the tuna tostada with generous slices of very tasty tuna and the bbq dorade which was sizeable enough to make us need a few more tortilla s. I also really enjoyed the pumpkin quesadilla which we did not try before. So in spite of the storm outside we had a fantastic dinner. We hope something similar will be organized soon and under better weather circumstances so more people can enjoy it! Dinner was excellent. We are big fans of the original masmais so were very excited about visiting this fish focused sister restaurant. It did not dissapoint. As it s still the soft opening they work with a set menu so you can try a lot of the dishes. All of them were delicious. Bbqed dorade and tuna tostada s were stand outs. In addition to the food the drinks and service are also great. We enjoyed the smokey paloma the most. Staff was attentive and (unneccessarily) apologized when one course took slightly longer. The restaurant also looks really nice. The decor is warm and neat. Bar seats looked great as well. I couldnt figure out if these seats can be booked specifically (like at the sister restaurant) but we d definitely go for them if that was an option. All in all highly recommend a visit. We will certainly be back!

Great mexican seafood! Nice fresh fish dishes in a mexican twist! Fantastic cocktails, some classic mexican, others cool with a mexican twist. Service is on point and very helpfull! Bbq fish and tuna tacos are a must have, but the menu offers a lot of vegetarian options to.

Fish focused Mexican restaurant that does some vegetarian dishes as well that are quite nice. Liked the atmosphere here and the people were super friendly. Lemon heavy ceviche was a good choice. And had some quesadillas with artichokes and pumpkin with guacamole. Flan was surprisingly refined! I enjoyed.

Prima maar ik zou hier niet terugkomen. Gerechtjes misten iets bijzonders, vooral voor die prijs. De ceviche was zo zuur dat je de vis niet meer proefde, zonde.

Echt fijnproeven dit! Dikke aanrader en culinair hoogstandje. Het ene gerecht was nog beter dan het ander! Zeldzaam om zó lekker te dineren met zo’n gepassioneerd en professioneel team in de keuken en op de vloer. Nieuwe favoriet te pakken!
