Beautiful ice-cream, reasonably-priced and really friendly service. All of the ice-cream and sorbet is homemade. Also did great coffee.

The woman at the till was friendly; however, she got one of my orders wrong. The ice cream was watery, and the vanilla didn’t taste like anything. Overall, the gelato was disappointing. I was really let down, especially since most reviews are five stars, and I genuinely believe many of them are fake.

I have been here without knowing that this shop was a popular and highly rated ice cream shop. It was really delicious and I plan to go back again!

Felt like having a gelato and found this little gem. Ordered a pistachio gelato which was divine. My sister got the coffee one and that was so delicious aswell. We also tried the fig and yoghurt gelato and would definitely go back just to have that. The lady serving us was so friendly and welcoming too! Would Highly recommend this cute little shop.

Updated on the 8th Jan: The gelato itself was yummy. My sister recommended me to come here and would still come back! I encountered an issue regarding a small part of the service that evening that felt disturbing to me. It was regarding a staff that made me pick out the spoons from the dirty cup after tasting the ice cream flavours. I still stand firm that this was wrong. But after Andrea reached out to me, I felt better that my feedback was taken to consideration. Thank you for meeting with my sister to talk, I appreciate your time. Also, I was more unhappy in the moment compared to now. Sorry if I sounded harsh but appreciated that you spoke to him.

Amazing ice cream. Superb taste and ingredient quality. Gelato pistachio ice cream was very authentic with pistachio pieces included. Moreover, the portions are unbelievable. 1 scoop is much bigger than anywhere else that I've seen before (because they put the balls not with a standard ice cream spoon, but with something else). Despite these, prices are average. One of the best in NL.

The best ice cream in De Pijp! On hot days, there can be long lines, but it’s totally worth it if you have the time! On weekdays, you can enjoy the ice cream with almost no wait. My personal favorites are pistachio and ricotta with figs! They also have a great selection of sorbets. They make the ice cream themselves—amazing team!

one of the best ice creams i ever had. a bit on the pricey side but the scoops are decent. i wish they would give a larger waffle/cup for the ice so it doesn't melt onto my hand and give out tissues. you can sit outside. staff was very nice

The ice cream is really tasty. I got the passion fruit sorbet, it tasted like mango. There was a big queue outside and we had to wait for 15 minutes.

The ice cream is good. However, the manners of some of the personnel not so much. As we enter the shop, we wait for this lady to finish texting her friends at the cash register. When taking our order, she already looked bothered. She proceeded to prepare the first ice cream and broke the cone around the edge. However, she says, "Don't worry, it's not gonna break, and the ice crem will not fall.", only to avoid making a new one, like any decent person would do. Well, it did, exactly 2 minutes later, as we were walking.

The ice cream itself is a 4/5, however, there’s a long queue, it’s more expensive than in other good shops, and the benches outside are not nice.

I found out that I didn't get gelato ice cream and the person I was there with did, because a colleague asked her if she wanted gelato. Delicious Italian ice cream in Amsterdam!

Good indeed, but always need to queue for long time.

Authentic gelato in Amsterdam and the best snack to help you cool off on a warm summer day. The place is extremely small so queues are likely to form but it's definitely worth the wait. The staff are friendly and the portions are extremely generous. Will definitely come back for more.

Visité con tres niños, y el servidor inmediatamente se relacionó con ellos, preguntándoles cuántas cucharadas querían y si preferían un cono o una taza. El servicio fue eficiente y amable! The ice cream is sublime! Very pure and large portions (no scoops, but with a spatula😋). When we are in Naples or Palermo we always look for the best gelateria. Massimo can rival the best ice cream parlor in Palermo (which also uses natural ingredients). We don't have to go to Italy for coffee either, we have it just around the corner. The prices are very reasonable! A piece of Italy in the Pijp.

Good news! You don’t have to travel to Italy to get the best gelato. It’s a wait but you’ll not regret it. It’s fresh with whole ingredients, so if you go for the almonds, they will actually crush it and then put it in the gelato. Pro tip, go for the vegan variants, the normal ingredients(lactose)can mask certain flavors the vegan won’t so the flavor are more pure.

The best ice cream in Amsterdam

if you are in Amsterdam, you must try the best ice cream. there are many types of ice cream, for me pistachio was the best. there is always a line to wait, but it goes quickly and is worth the wait.

Great ice cream particularly the hazelnut. Also had vanillas salted caramel. Sorbet was good but not outstanding. Had lemon and raspberry. Should say not all at the same time. The wait look terrible but actually moves at a good speed.

Super tasty ice cream, large portions at fair prices. Pistachio is awesome - not too sweet and with lots of pistachio pieces. So we had to come back every day. Always nice staff, you can even try the varieties beforehand. And when the weather is nice, waiting a bit is simply part of a good ice cream parlor.

Nice staff, but horrible ice cream. Vanilla was actually not good- which is hard to do. The raspberry and lemon were okay. Found a full cup left right near the shop where we are staying (gross but understandable). Didn’t finish it- which is crazy because I have a huge sweet tooth. Bought a gelato here last week. Due to a misunderstanding they charged me double the price. Mistakes happen, that’s not a problem, but the way the staff treated me when I asked for a refund was extremely disappointing. Someone just walked out from the kitchen and slammed a voucher for a free ice cream in front of me, without any form of conversation whatsoever. I told them politely that I don’t live in Amsterdam, so that I would prefer to have a refund. They told me this was not possible as they didn’t have cash and cannot return card payments (mind you, you can only pay by card at the shop). When my friend asked how they normally solve these issues (they told us these mistakes happen more often) they said there was no solution except given a voucher. After some debate a lady told me she would give me an email address that I could write to get a refund. I politely thanked her, but then she only told me to give her my email address, telling me they would get back to me. I told her that I would prefer to email them myself, but she (quite rudely) told me I could find the contact details online. Well, currently their website is offline, I have not received an email and my multiple insta DMs have been ignored (they are regularly posting on their story tho :)). I wanted to let some time pass before writing this bad review, but the fact that I was treated so badly in the store as now online convinced me to write it anyway.

Definitely the best gelato I have tried in Amsterdam.

There is a very long line, but it's worth it. We got strawberry, passion fruit, milk chocolate, lemon sorbet, mango and tiramisu, pistachio sorbet. My personal favorites are pistachio, passion fruit, tiramisu, and lemon, but the others are also very good. The staff is nice. When we entered, only one person was assisting, so maybe the number of staff could be increased.

It was a real delight to find such a great ice cream spot in Amsterdam. There’s a good reason it’s always queuing outside. I tried 5 different flavours and all 5 were amazingly tasty proper gelatos! Will be back for sure!

Was staying nearby so went there after dinner for some gelato, queue was pretty long but tried a few flavours and they were very nice. Decided to go back the next day to try a few more flavours, and OMG THE HAZLENUT GELATO IS THE BEST THING IVE EVER TASTED I’m actually annoyed because it’s ruined gelato for me because when I go home it will never be as good as that. Will be coming back in future 😂

Fantastic Gelato. I've had a few around town and this one has been my favorite so far. The gelato is creamy and flavorful. The servings are also very generous. There was a long line when I got there. A good sign if you ask me. Fortunately it wasn't a long wait as they had a good system to get people in and out quickly. I highly recommend getting your gelato or sorbet fix here.

Very rude employees. No taking care of my gluten allergy. They did not put effort to understand what I wanted and needed. They just told me “take a sorbet ice cream just in case”. Celiac people do not go there.

Very sincerely deserves their overall rating :) The only downside is the service, the terrible person at the checkout (little brunette not very nice), not giving me a single moment to choose and ask my question even though I couldn't see the card clearly... Thanks to his colleague, who was very kind. I understand that you have people but next time take a little more time at the checkout, knowing that the person right after me also had a problem with it.

The hazlenut is amazing and the mango was also good. 7 euro for 3 scoops. Service was a bit slow and the waitresses were in quite a chaos. We had to wait 15mins. There's seating places outside.

€5 for two scoops with whipped cream. What a shame! I'll buy two for that in Rome! If you eat enough, you can get your plane ticket in no time.

Massimo has the best ice cream. Unparalleled, even in Italy we rarely had ice cream that is as good as Massimo's. The line is often long, but it is worth it! Tip: we often order online.

Once again walked away from here because of the grumpy, disinterested service. For such pricey buns you also expect some friendliness. Moreover, the ice cream is not that special. Miuz's ice cream is tastier.

When we arrived there was a line, which led us to assume that the gelato was as good as recommended. The line moves quickly, so don't worry. It's ALL worth it! The gelato is delicious.
