Best ice cream in Amsterdam!!! I've been coming here for years and there really is no better ice cream parlor in Amsterdam.

Great vegan ice cream at a great price! Would highly recommend the chocolate brownie.

We went at 945 and with three girls 11 and under and were turned away by a rude guy who was flirting with girls on the line and didn’t care how upset he made our kids announcing with a giant smile that the line was closed 15 minutes before the listed time. I get how things sometimes work but this was next level mean and arrogant and I hope someone doesn’t go there because of this.

SO good! There was a line out the door every day, especially with the heat wave, and it moved quickly. Well worth any wait honestly. The flavors like Lime Cheesecake, American Cookies, and Straciatella were all really good, but THE VANILLA is to die for. Some of the best I've had. Bummer they ran out the second day I came but not surprised.

Best ice cream parlor so far. Huge variety of vegan flavors and vegan whipped cream. Perfect for a lactose intolerant person. The line is just a bit of a letdown.

The ice cream was good, but not as amazing as some reviews suggest. I’ve definitely had better. I also wouldn’t call it authentic gelato, but rather good-quality ice cream with a nice variety of flavours. One downside is that there’s nowhere to sit and enjoy your ice cream, so you have to walk around while eating it. The staff could have been a bit friendlier. We were told off for queuing in front of the entrance to the shop next door, which is fair enough, but the sign explaining where to queue is quite small and easy to miss. A polite reminder would have been appreciated instead.

We had to wait in line for about 10 minutes, but then we got our ice cream quickly. The staff were very friendly and remained calm despite the large crowd. Everything was well-marked, and communication in English was easy. The price is a bit high for a small scoop, but probably average for ice cream in Amsterdam.

On June 23, 2026, I still wanted to get a delicious ice cream at Monte Pelmo at 21:40. A rather plump, blonde, cat-like employee with a nose piercing told us that no new people were allowed to join the queue! This is not part of the perfect hospitality service I have come to expect from this establishment! She was standing there doing nothing outside, while she could have been helping her colleagues and customers sell ice creams! If you are open until 22:00, you are supposed to let your customers in until that time!!

This place is heaven and has loads of amazing vegan options. Well worth queuing, in fact worth selling up and moving to Amsterdam for. Had the chocolate cookie and pistachio ice creams.

okay so at first i didn't get the hype because there are only so many ways ice cream can taste. however, my man was in town so we decided to stop by and I'm glad we did. any flavor is good but give the mango a try!

Delicious ice cream! There are two refrigerated counters. The left counter has classic flavors like chocolate, vanilla, blueberry, pistachio, etc., while the right counter has more unusual flavors, such as white chocolate with pistachio crunch 😋 Highly recommended!

Very nice ice cream, service and location!

Incredibly delicious and a huge variety, including some unusual flavors. The limoncello was superb, as was the blood orange and all the others we were able to try.

One of the best icecream places in the Netherlands. There is a huge line in front of the shop, but you will understand why, when you taste their icecream. Staff is very friendly and kind. There are a lot of flavors you can try. I must say, melon is phenomenal. Dark chocolate was already finished. I must also highlight the delicious cone, which was crispy and had beautiful cinnamon notes. Definitely recommended!!

What a hidden gem we found this place off the beaten path and my goodness it was so good we came back multiple time during our stay! I will say I read through some of the reviews and the odd comments about this not being up to par good ice cream is a little bonkers to me when this is gelato which is completely a different thing. The texture of the gelatos was very velvety and nice flavors. The sorbet was also really good. The cones were unexpectedly delicious too. I did feel there was one staff member that I wasn’t crazy about. I wouldn’t say rude rude but just short in speaking but maybe it’s a language thing. Even with that we still kept coming back during our stay. Super great experience and would highly recommend to anyone to swing by! So so good!

It was absolutely delicious! It's a rich, creamy ice cream, and they have some unusual flavors that you don't usually see.

Wonderful vegan (non-dairy) ice cream! Loved having so many good flavors to choose from. Chose dark chocolate and pistachio — both were stellar. Highly recommend and will be back.

Tasty ice cream, but when I licked it, the scoop fell off my cone. The construction could therefore be a bit better (and maybe slightly larger scoops…). They also didn't ask what kind of cone we wanted. Otherwise, really mega delicious. We enjoyed it! The scoop really could have been a bit bigger. The benches are actually quite a bit too simple (a canopy would be nice). In terms of facilities and ice cream construction, we found it disappointing, but the ice cream was incredibly tasty… 4 stars!

Some of the best ice cream we've ever had

It was a delicious cup of ice cream and a sweet, down-to-earth woman behind the counter; after sitting at home for a week due to a tiring pregnancy, this was actually a nice experience with the outside world! Large scoops of caramel-sea salt, yogurt, raspberry, and healthy Smurf (with blue spirulina). I enjoyed my ice cream and the hospitality; I will definitely be back. <3

A bit off the beaten track...away from the hustle and bustle. The ice cream is very good, but at €3 per scoop it's not exactly a bargain. Still, recommended.

We came here from a recommendation and it did not disappoint. Good quality ice cream, friendly staff and while the place is small there are 2 tables with 4 chairs in total to sit inside and two benches outside. Would definitely visit again if in the neighbourhood.

I just had the four most deliciously flavoured ice-creams! Just wanted to say thanks to the lovely lad who served me – I asked what his favourite flavour was and his recommendation was absolutely scrumptious, Gezonde Smurf. Spot on, proper lovely service that really made my day! Cheers mate!

Ice creams were watery and too sweet. Staff was not the friendliest. I bought the mokka, so not a sorbet flavour but a cream one.

Replying to owner’s reply: - There was no other staff member around when we were there—she was the only one serving. - What do you mean by “everything going wrong”? We didn’t do anything wrong. Nothing went wrong. The only thing wrong was her unprovoked reaction. - It is not your call to say it’s not racist. You are not the one on the receiving end. Original review: The three of us were there at 1.30pm today, served by a nasty, racist middle-aged lady, who gave us one look and immediately SIGHED very loudly in a knee-jerk reaction. We ordered without hesitation, spoke better English than she, and were well-behaved. She was super-friendly to some German tourists who came after us. 🤷🏻‍♀️ As for the gelato, it was too sweet and nothing special. Massimo Gelato was much better—both in terms of taste and service. NEVER AGAIN.

The ice cream is truly very tasty— we have visited this place several times before and were always very happy. That’s exactly why it is especially disappointing for me to write this review. Yesterday, my boyfriend and I visited it again. First, my boyfriend asked to try one flavor, and I also tried the one I was interested in. After that, to make a final choice, I asked to try two more flavors. The staff member (an older blonde woman) responded quite sharply that I had already tried one and could only try one more. This really surprised and immediately upset me, because during our first visit we were served by a different employee (a friendly young Asian man), and at that time we were allowed to try several flavors without any problem, so we could choose what we liked best. The attitude of this woman significantly ruined my mood and the overall experience. I was also disappointed that my scoops of ice cream were noticeably smaller than my boyfriend’s. I don’t understand this kind of treatment towards me. Even though the ice cream is genuinely very tasty and high-quality, this time the service left a very negative impression and spoiled the whole experience.

Was closed when we came on Wednesday at 20:00 despite google maps claimed it was open until 22:00

Google Maps said the store was open until 10 PM, but when I arrived, it was closed, and there was no sign of opening hours on the door.

Absolutely brilliant, delicious ice cream

We got ice cream from this place three times during our stay in Amsterdam. It was filled with locals and on more than one occasion, they told us this was the best ice cream in the city. We believed it. Every flavor we sampled was delicious, but the pistachio ice cream was exceptional. The best we've had outside of Italy.

The staff and ice cream were super good but the working environment created by the aggressive manager made me feel really awkward sitting there

Lovely ice cream but expect a 20mins queue. Vegan (non dairy ice cream) were on the left hand side & dairy on the right. I had oreo & mango which were both delicious. My wife had pistachio which she didn't particularly like and neither did I but the Hazelnut was better. €4.70 for 2 scoops each. Tax included, same price for cone & cup.

This must be the most ok ice cream place in Amsterdam (almost 3 stars). It's very distant to the ones I've had and would call the best.

We came here two nights in a row and it was amazing! To ease your ice cream stress, let me recommend the best ones :) The pistachio one is absolutely amazing. The cheesecake one is amazing. If you like coffee, the mocha one is wonderful, and I loved its creamy texture. There's also the white chocolate pistachio one, which is also very good. I didn't find the dark chocolate one to be very good; I've had better ones. The strawberry one isn't great, but my son orders it every time, so there's nothing to be done about it :) In short, it's definitely worth the wait; try it. The cones were so fresh, so it gets an extra plus from me 👌🏻

Delicious ice cream and friendly staff make this place a winner in my book. I’ve had several flavors and liked the all. My partner appreciates the non/ dairy options. It’s located on a nice street with several other appealing places.

Many flavors to choose from and the ice cream tastes delicious. Very warm welcome and fast service, always with a smile, despite the crowd! We ended our day on a very good note! :)

Overpriced ice cream! Flavors purchased: vanilla, mango, hazelnut, pistachio, American cookie For these five flavors, the predominant taste is milk and sugar +++ On the other hand, the staff is pleasant!

Unfortunately the service was a bit slow and the opening times are not mentioned anywhere (although it is mentioned in google maps, it varies a bit). The ice cream was served a bit soft (it was not cooled sufficiently) and the flavours that are mentioned on the website are not all available in the store. Finally, I would have preferred that the vegan flavours are also available as non-vegan (dairy) because the vegan milk tastes bad in my opinion and all the flavours I wanted were unfortunately only available within the vegan selection. Also it would be a good idea to hand out one napkin or have a napkin dispenser/tray available on the counter (I didn't see any). Rest is fine.

Quite simply: you can't miss this delicious ice cream! ... and I'm not really an ice cream fan 😋

If you like good ice cream, you'll find it at Monte Pelmo. My daughter and I discovered it by chance in August 2024 and have been thrilled ever since because they have truly excellent ice cream.

Such delicious ice cream and such great flavors, especially the fruit ice cream, which is like a real sorbet. We were lucky and the line wasn't too long. The espresso was delicious!

The best ice cream in Amsterdam. It's a small shop where there's usually a line, but it's worth it. The ice creams are reasonably priced for the quality. I recommend the white chocolate with pistachio and the yogurt. The cone-shaped wafers are delicious.

I got the Stracciatella (after reading the reviews) and Chocolate with Chocolate Chip. I would get the chocolate w/ chocolate chip next time I come back. Was perfection and not too sweet!

This is up there with the best gelato I've had anywhere. The cones were excellent and obviously fresh; of course the waffle cones are good in Holland, but these were especially good. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The proprietor obviously takes pride in making such excellent ice cream and informed us that the blue ice cream is made specially with spirulina to make it healthier (and blue). I admit I stole a taste from my daughter's - just perfect. If I'm back in Amsterdam again, I know where I'll be going. Even their dog is sweet and begs so politely, that he almost managed to get something from me.

One of my flavours out of three was slightly mixed up due to miscommunication but overall the options flavours were plentiful and the melon gelato was very sweet and flavourful along with the dark chocolate ice cream.

Totally worth the walk! Monte Pelmo is a hidden gem about 15 minutes from the city center and the walk is actually a bonus! You’ll pass cool shops and see more of the city. The ice cream is amazing. I love the salted caramel creamy, rich, and way better than others I’ve tried. Not expensive either. Definitely a must-try in Amsterdam!

I was not impressed and don't understand the hype about this place. Maybe it's because there aren't many ice cream parlors in Amsterdam.

If you want good ice cream in Amsterdam, this is the place. One of the best in the city. And in the beautiful Jordaan neighborhood.

The sorbets are the best, dark chocolate, lime/lemon, mango.

The service was great, it offers a high quality ice cream with economical price. Besides,the owner is very kind and helped us repair our bike during our trip. It is definetely a must-see when visiting the city!

We came to the gelato shop twice in the evening in advance before closing. The worker closed the queue just before us, and was rude and super mean. One time we saw people coming out with ice from there, and when we got there they rejected to sell us ice cream. This is just ridiculous. We understand that there might be too many customers , so we can’t, actually , be served. But it never got explained to us. And this is not a reason to be rude to your customers. The owner needs to change his attitude towards customers who bring money to his business.

Workers were super nice, and the gelato was not bad. The problem was - what I’m assuming to be - the owner, that came and started being a beetch to the workers complaining about the queue outside. Get yo ass behind the counter if it’s too busy, instead of talking to your employees like they are slaves.
