Waited 20 minutes for a chicken nugget menu with fries and a drink for €15 and finally got it because I chased after it myself. Fries and nuggets lukewarm. Toilet dirty. What has happened to McDonald's? What a disappointment.

Super size menu, hardly any fries, the container was really way too empty, no Dutch-speaking staff.

I was in the drive-thru. There were maybe only 6 cars in front of me. But the line just didn't seem to be moving. I waited for almost 30 minutes!

My chicken nuggets were raw and pink on the inside, my cola was flat, and my ice-cream barely had any ice cream. Really bad!

Literally the main pit stop while driving. It matches my expectations or requests.

I have never eaten such a disgusting McDonald's! The burgers were just cold!!! The fries were soggy, the burger buns looked stale. On top of that, we had to wait a long time even though it was super quiet! Severely disappointed, never going to this McDonald's again.

Worst McDonald’s in the entire region, period. No frappuccinos for months. What you *do* get is often soggy, cold, or just plain wrong. And in the meantime, you’ve been standing in line waiting for nothing multiple times, while that frappuccino machine has been broken for well over three months. Three. Months. As if McDonald’s doesn’t have a spare machine lying on the shelf. Absolute nonsense. In Harderwijk, they had exactly the same problem. A few days later, there was simply a brand-new machine. Here? Nothing. Zero action. Zero customer service. Not even a cheap coupon for compensation. Nothing. This isn’t bad luck. This is pure incompetence from an extremely bad franchisee who clearly doesn’t give a damn. Scandalous.

Takes a long time, incomplete, or incorrect. You get a new one after waiting another 20 minutes, which is cold and in the same paper wrapper you gave the old burger back in. I wouldn't go here again.

I just ordered food via the drive-thru and had to wait 45 minutes for a Happy Meal cheeseburger and Quarter Pounder. That isn't even the worst part; I had a Quarter Pounder without pickles, but they were put on it anyway. The drink wasn't included, so I had to wait another 15 minutes before I was served. Then you ask for a manager, and she has absolutely no respect. The first thing she asks is: do you have a receipt? Normally I would just say sorry for the inconvenience, I think, but no. Her answer was that the people inside couldn't speak Dutch or English. I think this is a bad business. Finally, after waiting for well over an hour, I got my Happy Meal cheeseburger, Quarter Pounder, and drink. I will say that I am definitely never coming here to Hilversum again! Because Hilversum is simply the worst McDonald's in the entire Netherlands; this isn't the first time. You always have to check carefully if you have everything, and there is no compensation to be had, so people, be warned.

June 2026: three stars: The food at this McDonald's is like all other McDonald's. It is tasty, but after an hour you are hungry again. The atmosphere is American, so lots of light and no coziness or atmosphere. In my experience, the staff is better now. The ordering experience is still rubbish. When you order something, you normally get a receipt with a number on it, but those receipts often don't come out (because the roll is empty???). The food was ready in about 10 minutes, which is too long for a fast food restaurant, but oh well, the Drive-in seems to take precedence. The restaurant looks cleaner and better than in the past. Parking is available in front of the building or in the parking garage. June 2019: from 5 to 1 star. What happened here? It has become a slow food restaurant! Is there no manager left? I was inside here for 10 minutes, got to witness the chaos, and saw a lot of grumpy and panicked staff standing there waiting, while there were lines of customers waiting to be served. After 10 minutes I still hadn't been able to order anything, so I turned around and got out of here. Maybe I should hire a good manager who can actually find staff? I feel sorry for the staff here... January 2019: 5 stars. I have been here a few times now and I liked it. Your order is ready quickly and is good. I have only experienced friendly staff. You can see exactly on a screen if your order is ready. That goes quite fast, or very fast. I do agree with other reviews that privacy is hard to come by when you are sitting at a table. Sometimes that is nice, sometimes not. The double drive-in is not as useful as it seems to customers. Ultimately, it becomes one lane and you stand waiting for your order together with the other lane. The parking garage is handy; keep to the right in front of the restaurant, then you will see the entrance. November 2019

11:15 in the evening. Received an order from an unfriendly elderly lady. Ate outside. Wanted to dispose of the trash properly and not leave it on the table. Unfortunately, it was full. I just took the trouble to put it in the bin there. Packaging and napkins on the floor and tables both inside and outside. Seems a bit understaffed there in Hilversum. Which might also explain the mood of the previously mentioned employee. Franchisee; this can be done better!

There aren't too many parking spaces. The food is good. It's a shame about all those ice cubes.

What a terrible McDonald's. All kinds of food were missing. We stood in line for 20 minutes without a receipt or anything. Absolutely awful.

Of course, things can get forgotten once in a while. But doing so twice with two different orders is a shame, especially since the last order consisted of a soft serve ice cream cone, one sundae, and two McFlurries. I think the last three mentioned were already quite ready, as they were starting to get pretty runny. The cone was forgotten, and I had to go back for it. Parking is a complete nightmare; there is a parking lot downstairs, but apparently everyone wants to park upstairs, which creates dangerous situations. The previous time I was here, this even ended in a heated argument between two drivers over the damage caused. It escalated to such an extent that the police had to get involved, and we couldn't get away because of the brawlers. Lots of room for improvement.

We had a bad experience at the McDrive. Everything moves quite quickly, but the order is rushed. We had: items forgotten, a hamburger that consisted of a bun and a pickle, and nothing else. The 20 chicken nuggets were 10 chicken nuggets and 10 cheese nuggets, and the fries were all soggy. This could definitely be a notch better.

The Big Taste meat was a bit dry. We stood waiting by the window longer than usual. The fries were nice and hot, though, and the order was complete.

The order was for takeaway, but we received it to eat there. The fries arrived so late that the rest was already cold, because the fries fried before us were given to customers after us. The quantity of sauces was incorrect... all in all, not great.

Average McDonald's, staff unfriendly and 9 out of 10 times they forget something from your order

Large McDonald's. Child-friendly, including multiple indoor and outdoor play areas. Large parking garage under the restaurant, but also plenty of parking around the restaurant. McDrive and McCafé. Meeting room, large restrooms, and many self-ordering kiosks. Staff is friendly and helpful. Fast service and good quality. Always very satisfied. In short, an incredibly good McDonald's. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

And now, 5 years later, it is still worse than bad. Rude staff and orders are simply NEVER right! It's a shame you can't give 0 stars. There is something wrong with the order here so often! Listening is truly a skill in itself. Today I ordered a double egg/bacon muffin, but this was misunderstood yet again. I went back in line to resolve it. She could only wave my receipt which stated a single muffin. Resolving it? Forget it, she just closed the window. You deserve much more in these times because the hospitality industry isn't allowed to open; the arrogance of yours to think that you don't have to be customer-friendly anymore. Ugh!!!

The vending machines worked poorly. The food was cold and not any better. It wasn't very tidy either. And way too noisy.

Ordered almost 1.5 hours before closing, and after 50 minutes the order was cancelled? Without reason, really a shame. Things can go wrong, but having to wait 50 minutes is really long.

Unfortunately, some of the staff members here have a severe lack of basic communication and listening skills. Even after multiple explanations in clear English and physically pointing at the menu, my order was taken completely wrong. To make matters worse, instead of fixing their mistake, the staff member chose to blame me. Management seriously needs to train their team on basic customer service, patience, and simple kindness. Communication is key, but so is professionalism.I sincerely hope this review is read and understood by someone with a higher capacity for reading, comprehension, and basic intelligence.

The people could barely communicate because they didn't speak Dutch. Food was missing and the food was very rushed. And they just don't clean here!

Eating takes well over 30 minutes as standard. Even if you order just one ice cream cone, expect a 30-minute wait. It's just headless chickens working there; it's an amateurish approach, everyone just does whatever they want, and no one has their own station. They really need to do something about their pace.

Unfortunately, they have been making a huge number of mistakes for the past 2 or 3 weeks. Wrong burgers, or parts forgotten. This happens almost systematically with every order. It is a shame, because there are also people who have been working there for a long time who always do it accurately and neatly.

Very bad place. Orders are never right. Order a cheeseburger? You get a bun without cheese. Order a hamburger without pickles and mustard? You get one with more than enough mustard and lots of pickles. If you go to the counter to point out that your order is incorrect, they don't try to be helpful and send you away with the excuse "well, then you should have ordered it differently". Very unpleasant staff and manager.

Hey, orders can really never go right here, and if you point out to the manager that the order is incorrect for the umpteenth time, you get an unpleasant response back.

Bad service, we weren't helped and the woman behind the counter screamed that everyone needed to be patient and much more. Waited 20 minutes for 1 ice cream and waited another 15 minutes until we were served, and then received a melted ice cream. Not recommended, by the way. Afterwards, there was another warrior who gave us a new ice cream and plenty of sauce.

Would not recommend going to this place. Too little personnel & the people that were visiting were incredibly rude to the staff.

I am here at 00:30 in line for the drive-in. Finally getting my turn. The man says it's closed, are your brains working? What kind of service is this? Not even putting up a sign indicating who is last in line. This is just unacceptable.

They can't even handle a simple order. A large Coke Zero without ice and a Sunday Caramel with nuts... you don't get nuts and the Coke is with ice. Had to have it repeated at the station, and when paying the man said the same thing, and the girl at pickup says... it's not on the receipt. And the waiting times at the McDrive were at least 20 minutes.

This review is due to a tall, dark-skinned employee there—I think she's the manager—who is very rude, treats customers badly, and shouts. In my opinion, she should be fired.

I've been waiting for the set for almost an hour

I ordered 3 menus tonight at 11:00 PM. I went to pick up the order after my number appeared on the board. Once at the counter, they said the food wasn't ready yet. By the time my order number was called to get the food, it was already cold. I pointed this out, and then I was told it was my fault. No solution was offered. The person behind the counter said I would give the money back. The money was incomplete; we had to go back to the counter 4 times to get the full amount back.

Not very successful and had to wait a long time

In the evening, the option for table service by number (when ordering online) is often unavailable. Additionally, opening hours remain vague. Around 11:00 PM, they start cleaning, and you are practically stared out of the restaurant. This is despite the fact that they state they are open until 1:00 AM.

I go to McDonald's regularly, but something always goes wrong at this branch. I was handed a bag of hamburgers I hadn't ordered. And on a subsequent visit, they forgot to give me half of the order.

It is dirty, there is no soap in the toilets and they stink, and the decor is completely lacking in atmosphere. Drive on if you can. The staff are also shouting.

Fine McDonald’s, lots of loitering teenagers in the evening

It is truly deeply sad that at this McDonald's you ALWAYS have to check your order, because something is missing very often. The annoying thing is that sometimes you think it is complete, but then you get home and it turns out there is a wrong product in the package, or too few sauce packets. In the three years we have lived near this McDonald's, I have only received a complete order a few times; there are a FEW capable people working there (really, hats off to them for being able to do good work at all in this monstrosity of a restaurant), but I have also seen staff being yelled at and snapped at more than once, and you don't get an apology when you have to say for the thousandth time that you are missing something from the order. Today I received a single cheeseburger again with a wrapper for a double cheeseburger around it, and of course I paid for the double. I have already spent quite a bit of money on things I never received but did pay for. It’s already going too far for me to check the entire bag every time I receive it, and I’m certainly not going to open every paper slip and box to see if the right product is inside. Seriously, do something about your business operations and structure; this really sucks.

Fine young people. One a friendly dreamer, the other more hands-on and fast. The biggest mystery at every McDonald's remains that half the food is sitting there waiting for the second half. By the time you get everything, half the food is cold. But that really is the case everywhere. Except London.

Last time they forgot the fries. So this time I specifically asked them to check everything. They didn't put any hamburgers in the Happy Meals. Truly too bad for words. So from now on, I'll check it myself before leaving. (The order was for takeaway)

I have never been to a McDonald's where the employees seemed to enjoy themselves, but here they were clearly having a good time! A staff member was enthusiastically handing out masks to the children. The food was great; everything was fresh and not too salty or too much sauce! The restaurant was nice and tidy.

I ate here last night, what a terrible place. First of all, what I find truly scandalous is that there was an old man who I think ordered McDonald's for his family to take away. He placed his order and his number was called out twice in quick succession, and then the lady immediately said, "Well, I'm just going to throw it away then, bye." So she didn't even put it on the counter properly for a few minutes (which is normally required), but I don't think the man heard it, and 10 minutes later he walked up to the cashier to ask where it was, and then the lady said, "Yeah, I announced it 100 times and nobody responded, I threw it away." Consequently, the man had to order all over again, but I think that order must have been over €65 because he walked away with two full, large bags. You just can't do that, can you? And secondly, I had ordered a few things, but with my medium fries, they had filled maybe 20% of that container with fries, and then I went back and got about 10 extra fries. Well, I really don't think that's acceptable for what you pay for such a crappy portion of fries. And we also ordered table service; I waited more than 25 minutes for a Mac Smart menu and a Spicy Chicken Mac. I went to the counter to ask where it was, and then she just yanked the tray into my hands and said, "Yeah, now you're here anyway, you could just as well take it to your table yourself." And yeah, even though I could have done it because I was already there, you could have said that to your customer in a more normal way, not snatching that tray into someone's hands like that. And then, when I wanted to leave, I ran into my father-in-law and walked back inside with him to talk, and he went to order something. Subsequently, while there were only 6 other people standing there, I waited another 30+ minutes for just a Big Mac and a Mac. So, a flurry and a cookie, so I walked back to the counter to ask where it was, only to see that the order had been sitting there for 9 minutes without being called out, and then to top it all off, I got a Big Mac without sauce and a McFlurry with almost no sauce at all (Oreo McFlurry) and a cookie that was incredibly chewy and hard. Well, great, isn't it? And that for the top price of a 5-star restaurant.

Extremely disappointed with this place. I ordered one McFlurry and a cookie at the McDrive, but in the end I charged two and it suddenly dawned on me that I had ordered two. I explained the problem; the staff speak English, by the way! So I explained the problem, the manager came out, and I eventually got my money back!

Work at this branch is not efficient. Waiting a long time for a simple order, even though it is certainly not busy. The staff does not speak Dutch. That is fine for someone flipping hamburgers, but not for a waiter speaking to customers. A shame, I wouldn't go back anytime soon.

I have never experienced such a bad McDonald's before. It took a very long time for the food to arrive, even though it wasn't busy. On top of that, it was really filthy; there was trash and food scraps everywhere, and it looked like the tables hadn't been cleaned for a few hours. When we went back because something was missing and the hamburger was cold, we were served by a grumpy employee, as if we were too much of a burden. Just bad, and you should expect better from McDonald's.

Chicken nuggets are half raw 9 out of 10 times. Staff are rude. The manager tells me it doesn't matter if I ask for new chicken nuggets. Fries are soggy and lukewarm. Burgers are not cooked properly either. It is also dirty everywhere and there is a lot of trash inside and outside.

They don't speak Dutch and don't understand anything. They don't have a cola and mint tea.

I wanted to grab a quick bite to eat at the drive-through before an appointment, and I waited over 30 minutes for my order. Evaluate your work processes, because something's wrong there! Too bad for the young people who work there, because they'll have to deal with grumpy customers on a regular basis...

We had to wait quite a while at the drive-thru before we were helped. That's not so bad. But when we finally got our food, it was cold to lukewarm (burgers, nuggets). Not as it should be. The staff was otherwise friendly. The trash can outside was full. We couldn't get anything else in.

Review: McDonald's – Disappointing experience with rising prices and shrinkflation I ate at McDonald's again after a long time, but unfortunately, it was quite disappointing. The prices have gone up considerably, and you get less and less in return. The fish fillet (Filet-O-Fish) was noticeably small – a clear example of shrinkflation. For what you pay, you expect a decent portion. In addition, the whole experience felt a bit lacking in atmosphere and rushed. The food was okay, but not the quality and quantity you used to be used to. I hadn't been there in a while, and after this experience, it will probably be a long time before I go back. McDonald's now feels more premium in price, but not in what you get in return.

Standard McDonald's, nothing more, nothing less. Ordering food was a bit difficult last time. (I never order with a kiosk.) Otherwise, they always delivered what I asked for, and the food was never cold in the restaurant. Areas for improvement: try to keep everything neat and clean, including the trash cans. Also, be careful when someone wants to order at the counter; I sometimes have to wait, which isn't pleasant. I never go there during peak hours, by the way. This time I didn't eat in the restaurant and ate the Big Mac in the car on the way. It was hot and tasty, but it was gone too quickly. :-) Also delivered very quickly this time. What a nightmare. We've been waiting 35 minutes for our order. The staff keeps touching their faces and then back to their food. There's no oversight at all, and everyone just runs around in a jumble. They're real amateurs.
