You always expect to regret eating at McDonald's. But this is definitely one of the worse ones.

For 2 cheeseburgers with cola and fries in mcsmart double I had to wait 10mins , really? Mcdonalds in past was made that combo in 10seconds, so somebody could tell me why McDonald's going to be biggest regress amateur restaurant in Netherlands

We stopped by McDonald's this afternoon (Thursday, June 4) to get a burger and a milkshake. And guess what?? ALL the milkshakes were sold out. How is that even possible?! We tried at the counter, but to no avail. So, at least we had waited for the burgers, which had already been ordered. We dutifully provided the table number with the order. Then the delivery took a long time, while we suspected our order was ready... eventually we checked anyway, and it turned out they were indeed ours. The employee said, "My colleague said she couldn't find this one." WHY NOT?!! The table number was on the receipt with the order!!!!!!! By then the burgers were almost cold; I ended up with a rather cold (and dry) cheeseburger. A very disappointing experience, which means we actually don't want to come back. Fortunately, the burgers were "free" thanks to vouchers, but even so, it feels really awful.

A nice McDonald's with ample parking. The burgers and coffee were delicious, but it's a shame the fries were served lukewarm; they weren't freshly fried, making them unappetizing.

Unfortunately, the fries were cold and the order board wasn't working, making everything very unclear. The rest of the food was fine though (burgers and chicken nuggets).

This is the last time. Disappointed the last 3 times. Went again today. Once inside, a huge cesspool smell. What a sewer stench. The staff don't greet you; when you take your order or ask something, they just look at you grumpily. The food was cold, just like the last 3 times, and even the cola/ice cubes were weird. They always put out very few fries, and you just know it's all old food that's been sitting there for a while. Immediately, my daughter and I felt unwell—yes, eating the food. Nauseous and both went straight to the toilet at home. From now on, we'll go to Muidenberg/Muiden McDonald's instead. They are friendly there, the food is hot, and the fries are fresh.

Very poor and incompetent (far too young) staff. Waited 25 minutes for food that was only brought after asking. We were told that they hadn't forgotten, but that our three hamburgers were part of a “larger order,” meaning other people got their food earlier. Several people who came in and ordered after us received their food (more than three people and multiple hamburgers) before us. Just be honest; I would have valued that much more. The food was all cold except for the fries. We pointed this out at the counter, and once again we were served lukewarm items instead of freshly made ones. The complaint about waiting for our “slow” food was completely ignored. The building has been nicely renovated; that is the only positive thing about this McDonald's.

It is a good place to have a snack, but nothing more.

Got a McFlurry for €4.80 for a very small portion... asked why? Was told... they can't help it. You are allowed to fill it up to the "line". Staff indicate that they receive many complaints about it, but that is the norm. Not worth the money... this is awful. A rip-off...

You guys are really pathetic. My son gets a soggy Big Mac and no sauce with his fries. He does get a new Big Mac, but no new fries, which have gone cold in the meantime. How much does a serving of fries cost? Compared to a satisfied customer!

You can use the toilet for free at this place and it is always cleaner than in Almere city, plus it doesn't stink either.

We had to wait an hour for our order. Cold fries and a half-filled milkshake. We will definitely be skipping this McDonald’s from now on.

Not worthy of a star, no one comes to help you, someone who is choking gets no help, everyone stands and watches, vomit is not cleaned up, customers who want to pay in cash get no help either.

Well... I'm not difficult at all, and I understand the long wait times because that's what you expect from McDonald's... But when you ask for an extra bag and the lady says "I'll put a few bags in the bag and you can do the rest yourself"—who speaks neither English nor Dutch—and then my daughter eats a Big Mac at home and says it tastes weird (I tasted it myself, it tastes like perfume; luckily mine tasted okay so she ate that one), we're really done with it. My daughter doesn't even dare anymore... so if we're craving a Big Mac, I make it myself. Pffff

This McDonald’s sold me a toy I never wanted — and yes, it ended up ruining a my friendship! I came here with a friend to buy a Happy Meal specifically for the Boruto-themed UNO cards. I asked the manager about it, and she said she’d check availability. After waiting around 15–17 minutes, I received my order with a random toy and no explanation. When I asked again, I was given three unrelated toys and told that’s all they had — despite the fact that only UNO toys were displayed. I didn’t make a scene, made no drama, but the situation was frustrating. I paid for a specific product and didn’t get it, and no one made any real effort to resolve it. This situation even led to an argument with my friend, who didn’t understand my frustration — and we haven’t spoken since. We really broke up… So now I have a toy I never wanted, no resolution, and no intention of coming back. Where is the golden moment from McDonalds??? Poor service, lack of communication, and zero attention to customer requests.

The drive-through takes a very long time. The staff are very abrupt, and when you drive up to the drive-through, you stand waiting for 5 minutes before I can place my order.

As far as the food is concerned, it makes no difference: everything is the same. It is my ‘last resort’. Still, I want to "complain" (ugh..) about the lack of attention: I received my tray at the table without napkins and without a trolley for my drink. Surely that isn't too much to ask: You have only one job... I was sitting far from the counter and was alone. I couldn't leave my things behind to ask what was missing. But oh well… apparently you can't expect too much…

Waited half an hour for ice cream and an hour and a half for food, very busy, no seats inside, drive-thru doesn't move an inch further. Food fine, but with the ice cream there is hardly anything in it, and you either get a lot of sauce or something misty in the food or something.

My job involves laying electrical cables all over the Netherlands, and I usually eat lunch at McDonald's. This was the worst McDonald's I've ever been to. An inexperienced kid took my order, and when he brought it, the fries were cold. I asked for a replacement. I had ordered one Quanter Paunder large menu and two plain burgers, and after eating them, the fries arrived, but they were cold again. I told them the fries were cold, returned them, and left. That's the story.

Busy, cold McTasty (not even 10°C). Got a new one, still cold. Non-Dutch-speaking staff and rude manager. Worst McTasty ever.

Great McDonald's! The option to charge your car while you grab a bite to eat inside is super convenient.

It used to be always clean, food was brought to the table, and there were several people cleaning around, but after the renovation, it's been bad. No more table service, and if you want to eat there, you get everything in a to-go bag because they no longer have trays. These are placed high up near the garbage and therefore aren't cleaned. The food (for two people) also took a very long time, even though it was relatively quiet.

And they've done it again at McDonald's Almere Haven: you get a completely different meal than you ordered! In other words, you get something completely inedible!

For the third time in a row, I received the wrong flavor of milkshake. I ordered strawberry each time, and with two previous orders, I received banana flavor, and now I received vanilla. It also turned out my order was incomplete. A cheeseburger was missing.

Bad McDonald's, had several disappointing experiences now. First, I stood in the drive-thru for 10 minutes without getting anyone on the phone! I drove out, luckily it wasn't busy. Ordered inside. Cold food, delivered food not the same as ordered, milkshakes gone! Old burgers, lazy/slow staff, not customer friendly. And all that for very high prices!

Things haven't gotten any better since the renovation. Hardly any table service anymore, new trash cans that make an even bigger mess than the old ones. No longer a view of the kitchen... do they have something to hide? And this is supposed to become the new standard at McDonald's?

I ordered two burgers, fries, two MacFlurries, and two drinks. The order arrived after about 25-30 minutes, which isn't very fast for fast food. The fries and one burger were cold, and the MacFlurries had melted; it was like a milkshake. I returned the MacFlurries and, after a scowling look, received two new ones. The staff were very slow and not very customer-friendly.

Stood in the McDrive for 10 minutes. Not a single car was moved. When I asked if everything was okay, they politely said it was okay. If that's okay, I don't know what it would be like if it went badly. Next time I'll drive on to Lelystad.

Short-staffed, the restaurant was incredibly cold, with piles of trash everywhere, dirty tables, and an order sign that was in error. I had no idea which order should go where. After half an hour, I went to check myself and found half the order sitting on the counter, cold by then, and no one had called out the order number. A family next to us had been waiting for 45 minutes with no sign of their order.

Through the MC drive-thru, only to discover, after driving off towards the highway, that your order is incomplete. Super.

The service was terrible. A little girl was vomiting, and none of the staff cared what had happened, let alone cleaned up the vomit in the middle of the restaurant. The family cleaned up themselves. I went to the cash register to ask for more tissues, but no one responded. I called the staff, but they simply ignored me. We waited a very long time for our food, and the restaurant wasn't busy at all. The food finally arrived. The nuggets were cold and tasted like cardboard. DISGUSTING! I'm not surprised the child threw up... after the meal (most of it went in the trash), still no one from the staff showed up to wipe the floor after the vomit! Congratulations, they all should be fired! lazy slackers!

New decor. How awful!! It looks like the company cafeteria. Absolutely no atmosphere. Bare and cold. McDonald's better redo the place soon.

After experiencing two malfunctions at the ordering kiosk, I ordered at the cash register. Everything went wrong there because the young man didn't know how to work it. The order was incorrect. We had it corrected, but the manager was visibly irritated and didn't even look at us. Rude staff. I'll drive to a different location next time.

It's January 1, 2026, and this restaurant still hasn't learned! You have a receipt number, you have a screen. They're pushing all the numbers off the board. The result is panic in the restaurant, unnecessary questions about whether they've forgotten the order. When will you learn that manipulating numbers doesn't work! Update 01-08 If you call these people by phone, they won't answer. If you're sitting in the restaurant, you'll see the manager deliberately not answering and busy on his personal phone. The entire driveway is jammed, all the way to the main road. It's time to close this location as soon as possible. And then they had a malfunction, and the manager was gone missing. All orders are being pushed off the screens as quickly as possible to stay within their timeframe.

It was incredibly busy here. The road was wide enough for two cars abreast. The entire McDonald's was full of cars, so only one lane was occupied. The other lane had to be shared by vehicles leaving the McDonald's lot and vehicles entering, which meant they had to overtake the McDonald's cars. And let me tell you: it was so frustrating to watch. Then, they had two poles. And only one was talking; after three minutes, the other finally started talking. And they were so slow. Then, at the first window, a stick with an ATM card came out, attached to which was a hand with fake nails at least 4 centimeters long. In the restaurant. How disgusting. We all died from the whole car. At the second window, there was another strange makeup doll that looked like she'd made it in real life, which is what they all looked like, and then there was McDonald's sweating. So we got our food. There was no receipt anywhere. Besides, the food looked like it had been thrown together. Maybe they heard us gossiping about them. There were thumbprints in our buns. The sauce, lettuce, and cheese were literally smeared on the burger, and the burger itself was really crooked on the bun. McDonald's Almere was even worse than 3) Kampen and 2) Lelystad. Almere was the number one worst McDonald's in the Netherlands. Never again McDonald's Almere!

They're incredibly slow. Almost no customers. And I still have to wait 40 minutes for my order. Better to go to another McDonald's on the highway. This isn't fast food.

Dear Sir/Madam, I would like to file a complaint about my order today at McDonald's Almere Haven, around 9:45 PM. With my menu (combo deal in the app), I chose an Ice Frappé Caramel, for which I also paid extra on top of the price for the Happy Meal and the large Big Mac menu. To my surprise, however, I received a cup that consisted almost entirely of ice. There was no whipped cream, and the drink also seemed improperly prepared. I couldn't even take a normal sip before the cup was empty. This is not what I would expect from a product that charges extra. In addition, my burger was cold and my fries were extremely salty, which also made these parts of my order disappointing. I find this very disappointing, especially considering the price and my expectations of McDonald's. I would like to hear how you intend to resolve this complaint. Sincerely, Achanty

McDonald's wasn't too crowded, with plenty of seating, and the food arrived quickly. The tables could have been a bit cleaner, though.

Of the McDonald's locations in Almere, this is our "favorite." Even though my boyfriend lives in the city center, we never go to that McDonald's because of the often enormous wait times and the crowded restaurant itself. We also visit Almere Buiten sometimes, but find that the wait times are often long, the staff is disinterested, and there's hardly any tidying or cleaning. Returning to this McDonald's in Almere Haven, I think it's a shame that since the renovation (I think it was completed at the end of October), the QR codes have been removed from the tables, making it more difficult to order from your table. The new kiosks do look nice, though. Also, if I remember correctly, the condiments (sugar, stirrers, napkins) used to be in the restaurant itself. Napkins are usually placed on the tray, but you have to ask for sugar and a stirrer every time. I think it's good that it's not included as standard to avoid waste, but I also find it rather odd that you have to go to the cash register to ask for it. I'm guessing they've added tables, because now you really have to squeeze between them to sit on the bench. That says a lot more about the tables than about me. Plus: there are a lot of electrical outlets near/under the tables. We mainly come here for breakfast. Two weeks ago, they ran out of oat milk, and today there was no jam or syrup left. Since I really wanted a croissant, I asked the employee behind the counter if it was possible to get some of the strawberry sauce that's usually served on sundaes/in custard. It was allowed, and it was brought to the table promptly. The employee looked like she was only just 16, but I found her very friendly. The temperature in this McDonald's is actually quite pleasant, and the restrooms looked neat and clean (the times I've been there). The music isn't as loud as in some other locations.

No Christmas decorations, very unsociable!!!

I ordered my food from the machine like everyone else and waited longer than expected. They didn't call my name for my order. When I finally got there, they gave me the order, which was supposedly ready. I drove home, and when I opened the bag, they'd forgotten three hamburgers. Come on, it's not that hard. And at the same time, the fries were shriveled and the noodles looked like they were from the day before. Disgraceful.

Bad drive-in service, lukewarm fries, lukewarm burgers👎 I've reported this before, but they don't do anything about bad reviews here (updated December 14, 2026). It's still very bad; everything was lukewarm (both the fries and the burgers), and instead of cherry cola, we got Sprite. Dirty table upon arrival, and staff so slow that by the time your order arrives, it's even colder... all in all, this McDonald's is a place to quickly forget!

A pretty new restaurant, by the looks of it. It looked very new, though quite bare on the outside. It was just what you'd expect. And it was warm.

Food arrives late, orders are incomplete, delayed

New update in 2025: the food is unfortunately not what it used to be. The chicken nuggets look like they've been re-fried, and the fries were ice cold. No straws were provided, and one of the sauces wasn't delivered. Chicken sensation, such a soft, soggy bun that it looked at least four days old. It's a real shame I won't be going back there anytime soon. Update: The music inside is louder than the average club. Below are the reviews from 2022. Only for that reason, now 2 stars, otherwise 1 star would have been more appropriate. I got dinner here early last night; it was a large order. But literally everything was perfect. The fries were fresh, the burgers were all hot, and the chicken nuggets were hot and freshly fried. Sauces and napkins were included. Absolutely fantastic, many Mecci restaurants could learn from this. Update: I recently got dinner here again, and it was great again! It changes from day to day. Small update: This Mecci restaurant really has a great manager. Friendly guy who keeps a tight rein on his staff. If anything's ever wrong, he'll fix it right away. Great job. Once again, Mecci's could learn a thing or two from how things work here. Small update: Mecci was picked up again late yesterday afternoon. And he's a real star at the drive-thru. Finally, someone who actually enjoyed his work. Great job!

I ordered a McFlurry, as you can see, and it has two fingers of ice cream in it. It cost me almost 5 euros.

New review after renovation... No idea what the point of this is. The tables and ordering kiosks are way too close together, and the music is REALLY loud. (I'm getting old?) The entire coffee section is boarded up, and the counter is now almost level with the drive-through window. The whole vibe is no longer welcoming; I preferred the old layout.

It's been a while since we've been here. Almere Buiten is closer for us, but this time we drove past Haven. But what a disappointment! The first thing we noticed was that there were trays full of trash everywhere, making it difficult to find an empty spot (half the tables are not allowed to be used due to 1.5m social distancing). The reason for all the full, uncleaned trays was that ALL the trash bins were overflowing. Even the floor was littered with trash, both inside and outside. The very young staff brushed off any comment with, "I'm way too busy." Because you're required to be served at your table, you have to wait for your food at your table. Then (because, well, you're not going to walk twice for two trays; you put them on a much-too-low kitchen cart and then push it through the restaurant with your back hunched) a young boy literally walks past us twice with our food until we notice it's our order and we call out to him while our sign with table number is literally visible on the very edge of the table. Then things are missing from the order, and the ordered quarter pounder looks like it fell apart on the floor and was quickly put back in its box. So I walk to the counter and ask for the missing items and a new quarter pounder. I immediately complain to a woman in a nice white blouse about the mess. She immediately sends a young boy over, and (only then) the restaurant is (partially) cleaned up. "Partially," because the woman in the white blouse doesn't come out from behind her counter and the boy isn't very careful about tidying up. Therefore, she can't check on his work. I also noticed that almost all the "kids" (that's what you could call the young staff) are incredibly unmotivated. They stroll around the store with a tray, and the first thing you think is, "That ice cream will melt before you can even start!" A woman wearing a headset in the kitchen was also confronted by the woman in the white blouse about the fact that her face mask was under her nose instead of over it. That wasn't polite; "Especially not when there's a customer at the counter," were her exact words. I think that even when there's no customer at the counter, a face mask should be worn correctly! *Update December 2025*: What a shame. The Advent calendar has started. We order two Classic Burger menus at the kiosk. It takes a long time, it's busy, and everyone, regardless of their choice, gets their food in paper bags. After much insistence, I get it on a tray, and then it turns out there's no sauce and my wife's Big Mac isn't included. The excuse? Yes, it's busy. At the table, the fries are (thankfully) piping hot, but the meat on both my wife's and my burgers is literally ice cold, as if it hadn't even been heated. There's also no sauce or lettuce on my McChicken. When I ask for another one at the counter, the second McChicken also has no sauce and lettuce. Huh? The woman says, "Sorry," and walks away. I ask her to bring it to my table in the middle back of the restaurant, next to the window, because my wife's burger and the rest of our food are getting cold. Fifteen minutes later, I finally pick up my McChicken myself. This time, it's fine. I eat it in the car and quickly get out of there. The McDonald's has apparently been recently renovated. It looks nice, but without well-trained and friendly service staff, things aren't going to get any better. A fellow sufferer told me that the owner is only interested in the income, people will come anyway, regardless of the poor service and quality.

I only went into the MCDrive and it worked fine. I saw it inside once, but I don't know if that's changed. Outside, there's a spacious parking lot where everyone can easily park or even eat in their car. It's an annoyingly long drive from the highway, though. But that's just the way it is. It's a great little place in the area.

It was a beautiful renovation. It was great to go out softly.

I actually like their breakfast and coffee. The service was good. Just avoid at peak times.

Everything cold and people are not friendly

Takeaway order #2564 2025-11-22 You order a family lunch for over €60, and you get a chicken-honey-mustard salad without the chicken and honey-mustard sauce. You order apple juice to drink and then have to look where they went. You order extra fries, and you can't find them in the bags either. FOR THE MANYTH TIME. The place has been nicely renovated, but as for the service... No improvement in 5+ years. A bunch of incompetent good-for-nothings.

It was very busy, and the fries sauce and BBQ sauce weren't included. I ordered a banana milkshake, but got a different flavor.

I picked up my order today, and my 4 apple juices weren't in the bag. It was so nice to get home. You have to go back. This Mac often forgets something, unfortunately.

After the renovation, it has a fresh, more spacious look. The menu, as always, offers plenty of choices, and you can conveniently choose to have your order delivered.

This is the third time I've been ripped off right in front of me... I got a family breakfast: 5 double egg McMuffins, and I got 4 singles and 1 double. The first time, I thought, "Okay, mistake." The second time, I thought, "Hmm, again," but the third time, I felt a bit ripped off. It's now about a 10-12 euro difference.

Lazy staff; they only open the drive-thru in the morning. They leave the restaurant doors closed. I waited in the parking lot for an hour, and when I knocked on the window, the manager came to say they were "short on staff." While staff were chatting quietly behind the cash registers. There are contactless checkouts. So the laziness lies with cleaning and preparing the food. These people don't want to work.

Just 30 minutes ago, I was at McBride's, thinking, "What a nice Mac!" Well, no way. I took off my Big Mac to remove the pickles, and I saw that a BIT had been taken out of my meat. What's wrong with people these days? Now you have to check not only your order but also your BURGERS. McDonald's check your staff! Today, Thursday, October 30th, around 11:50 PM. Please find out what's going on because this is just sick.

It says it's open but its closed

Write a bad review before they reopen. The chicken nuggets are fried, and if they're cold when you order them, they're just put back in the fryer for another half minute or so. Tough, disgusting, and lukewarm. Inedible! Chicken nuggets here are always tough and lukewarm or cold! They shouldn't start frying until they've actually been ordered. This is a disgusting restaurant.

Went through the drive-thru. It was quick and the staff was very friendly! All smiles! I went through the drive-thru again for the soft serve ice cream because it melts otherwise. Same experience again! 5 stars!

Very clean McDonald’s with exceptionally friendly staff! 😊 I had ordered a drink that I didn’t like – without any discussion, it was immediately and effortlessly exchanged. You rarely experience service like this! You really feel welcome here as a guest. Absolutely recommendable!

It took about 20 minutes to get our food; it was supposed to be 4:00 PM, but we didn't get it until 4:20 PM. We ordered a Tiny Tan, but we received Pokemon cards instead.
